We liked this hotel. It is almost next to the train station. Excellent central location, very friendly staff. They gave us free transport vouccher and a free drink. Coffess and teas in breakfast area are always available. You can use that area to eat your own food if you need. There is very homly atmosphere. Free lugage storage is available. Excellent breakfast.

Hotel Central was the perfect location for our 5 nights in Lucerne. The included breakfast was very well done and plentiful. The convenience of having the refrigerator with provided labels so that we could store some food along with other guests was such a great idea. Additionally, they had a Vending machine for soft drinks wine, beer and then coffee and tea was available 24 hours a day. Lovely quaint hotel would certainly recommend it and stay there again.

The room was spacious but unfortunately it was very hot and there was no AC. There was limited ice. It was in a good location. Parking was street parking which was not clear. We were under the impression that there was a garage. We panicked, parked on the street and ran to the hotel. Luckily the hotel staff was able to register us electronically and our car stayed in the street several blocks away.

The hotel is in a great central location to the train station and to getting around the city. Very easy check in - expect to use the stairs as the elevator is traditionally small for an old building - we used it once upon check in and walked up and down to the fourth floor the rest of the stay. We had booked a family room to have the extra space and it was great. The bed was firm and the sleeper was comfortable. Bed linens are excellent - it does fall short on the towels in that they are very thin and a bit harsh. It’s late May and we lucked out the weather was perfect - the room did not have AC but provided fans and our room had lots of windows for letting the fresh air in. We had breakfast the last day and it was traditional fare of sliced meats, cheeses with breads and croissants - perfect lite meal to start a day of exploring.

The hotel is well situated, walking distance to old Lucerne (5 min) walking distance to Lucerne Central train station 5 min). Very convenient at the center of everything. Nice breakfast spread, access to free coffee and tea all days as well as water.

We found Hotel Central Luzern to be a reasonably priced (relatively speaking) hotel in Lucerne with a lovely breakfast and comfortable rooms. It is very centrally located near the train station and ferry terminal, which was a real benefit not only for walking through the city and visiting other spots on this beautiful lake, but also since we used Lucerne as a hub for day trips to other cities in Switzerland, taking advantage of the excellent train service. Surprisingly quiet, and all the front desk folks were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The main elevator was not operational during our stay, but a tiny back-up elevator was available and all we needed to transport suitcases to our room and back. Highly recommended.

Excellent accomodating staff - informative when I asked for tours, hop on hop off bus - didn’t have but had a little train - best money spent, was cheap, informative & for someone who has walking mobility issues was excellent Even had the extra 4 x pillows I asked for to sleep Loved the whole experience with this property Wish all of Europe locations had something like this near train -5-8 min walk away But great concept Great room Excellent location so close to train & in the heart of all attractions, old city, food & shopping Made our experience magical Great breakfast, Anytime tea, coffee, microwave & fridge in communal dining area Great concept always clean & maintained

Fantastic hotel. Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was good size (European standards) and updated. Very satisfied with bathroom and shower. Room was very clean on arrival and housekeeping did an excellent job with daily cleaning. Great breakfast. Nice lounge area - including outside terrace - to relax and enjoy BYO food and drink. I will definately stay here again when visiting Lucern.

Greeted by friendly staff, room was immaculately clean, located 5 minutes walk from train station and from restaurants, Boats, etc. Breakfast was great also, just a wonderful experience overall. I highly recommend and would go back.

The hotel was a disappointment. We couldn’t stay for anymore than 1 night. We had paid for 3 nights, and when I asked if they would waive the fee for the remaining 2 night, we were told NO. Despite this, we left the hotel. The room sizes are extremely small, so much so you can’t open your suitcase fully. The walls are paper and can hear the people in the room next door talking and those on the floors above walking, jumping etc. The bed linen was clean, however the pillows were dusty as was the floor. The soles of white hotel slippers (not supplied) went black after about 5 minutes. The bathroom towels were thin, coarse and small. There were no amenities other than soap and toilet tissue. I would recommend you stay at the Monopol if you are after a central hotel with large rooms and great service.

I loved everything about this hotel - room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was nice with good lighting (rare in many hotels.) Breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we needed the right connectors, were able to borrow from them. When it was raining, they offered umbrellas. The location was perfect, as we could walk to the train station. Besides that, all major sightseeing were close by. Just perfection! I highly recommend this hotel in the beautiful city of Lucerne.

The room and bed were very small for the price. Limited place to store clothes. Breakfast was good. One day was very warm and their was no air conditioning. As far as the shower, it was literally 80cm x 80cm or 90cm x 90 cm. Very small and cramped, so the floor was often flooded. No maid service came on 1 of my 3 days

Positivos: atendimento cordial e prestativo, ótima localização (300m da estação de trem e 400m da ponte de madeira - centro), bom café da manhã. Negativos: fizeram falta um ar condicionado, frigobar e ventilação no banheiro. Sofremos com calor, o ventilador não resolve pois o quarto fica bem quente e ainda sem frigobar. Não recomendo para dias quentes ou estadia longa.

Die Lage des Hotels ist äusserst zentral. Da die Zimmer mit einem Ventilator und nicht mir einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet sind, liessen wir die Nacht en Fenster offen. Die Geräuschkulisse von Luzern by Night war allerdings gelinde gesagt schlafraubend. Abgesehen davon war der Aufenthalt perfekt.

Great location. Very friendly staff. The rooms are somewhat small and lack any real ventilation except if you open the windows. No screens so bugs can get in. Could use some better ventilation, or at least screens, possibly air conditioning - otherwise they get really stuffy.

The location is about a block from the train station and close to old town, which is quite convenient. They also provide a lovely breakfast. But our beds were very uncomfortable, the room was hot and very loud as the open window was the only way to cool it, and that didn’t even work.

The hotel had a comfortable bed/linens and a well appointed bathroom. It was walkable to the bridge, shopping and train station. The best part of this hotel has to be the staff. During our check in, the front desk clerk gave us great recommendations for meals and itinerary, as well as gave us umbrellas to head out with. One morning we missed the complimentary breakfast by 30 min and the kitchen ladies were cleaning up. They kindly allowed us to eat in the room they’d just tidied up and even joked with us a bit. When we checked out, I had forgotten my hair straightener in the room. The check out clerk literally RAN to the train station to return it to me. I had 2 more weeks in Europe and really needed that straightener. My hair thanks you good sir! Someone give that gentleman a raise. Next time we are in Luzern we will stay at this hotel.

Lose to the railway station & the ferry piers, 2 minutes walk from the Chapel Bridge & other central Luzern attractions. The room was a reasonable size, bed comfortable. Towels seemed to be changed daily which was, in my opinion, unnecessary. Breakfast was a decent spread & tea & coffee were available 24/7. There was no fridge in the room, but a communual fridge was available in the breakfast room. The hotel also operated an honesty box system for cold drinks from this fridge. No aircon, as is normal for Switzerland, it had been hot before we got to Luzern & the room was rather stuffy, but they did provide a fan to try & get the air moving. Our room was up half a flight of stairs from the lift, whcih was not ideal as we had large suutcases, but we coped.

We found Hotel Central Luzern to be a reasonably priced (relatively speaking) hotel in Lucerne with a lovely breakfast and comfortable rooms. It is very centrally located near the train station and ferry terminal, which was a real benefit not only for walking through the city and visiting other spots on this beautiful lake, but also since we used Lucerne as a hub for day trips to other cities in Switzerland, taking advantage of the excellent train service. Surprisingly quiet, and all the front desk folks were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The main elevator was not operational during our stay, but a tiny back-up elevator was available and all we needed to transport suitcases to our room and back. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel close to the train station, breakfast was above average, they have a cute dinning area that has supplies like glasses, silverware and access to tea/coffee/water if you wanted to buy meals outside the hotel! We were able to leave our luggage after checkout with no fees which was a bonus!

We were able to walk just one block from the train station. All of the activities we planned also had meeting points within one to two blocks. The breakfast was wonderful, and the dining room very light and cheery. It was open until about 10 pm if you wanted to bring in food and use the area, or stash something in the fridge. Staff and room were great.

It was the equivalent of a travel lodge in the UK, however didn't even have air conditioning. Very good location for exploring the city, but at more £300 a night you would at least expect air conditioning. And the breakfast was simply a Continental breakfast So very basic.
