The location of the property is great and the price is reasonable. Parking on the street is easy and safe, and the staff at reception will help you get a digital day pass for it. The greatest downside, if you are travelling in summer, is the lack of AC. They provide a fan which is not enough. The rooms get very hot and the air unbreathable. Because the other buildings are pretty close, if you leave the windows open during the night so the air can circulate, you are left with no privacy.

The room was good, there were nice lighting options including a small night-light lamp that had charging portals! We like charging portals when traveling! The room had a long desk where one could eat or write. I was thrilled to find a bathtub! These are a rarity in Europe and so much needed after 2 1/2 weeks of train travel and lugging our bags across Italy and Switzerland! Our aching muscles were delighted. The female front desk staffer was very friendly and helpful. There is 24 hour free coffee/ tea in the lobby.

Positives first. Great location, easily walkable from train station. I had very little interaction with hotel staff but check in was smooth and efficient. Appreciated the continental breakfast. They had all day free coffee and an ice machine, which I greatly enjoyed. Now the negatives. The bed was as hard as an ironing board and the pillows was so mushy they were useless. There was no air conditioning, which for majority of the year I’m sure is fine but in mid July I was extremely hot. They did provide a fan but it was quite useless. Sleeping proved to be very difficult. So for that reason I would NOT stay at this hotel again.

Hotel de la Paix is a lovely hotel. The building is old but it is well kept and modernized. The beds are comfortable as are the pillows. Breakfast is a plentiful buffet with great coffee of your choice. The elevator is small but fits two people with 4 suitcases pretty easily. It is located right on the edge of the old town and it's very easy walking to all areas. You can also get free use of the city's tram system which is extensive. The hotel has an arrangement with an indoor parking lot where you can park for 25 CHF per day. It is safe and clean and just around the corner from the hotel. The hotel will include the cost of the garage on your bill and validate the garage ticket so you don't have to pay at the garage. It was very easy. The garage is attached to the Coop supermarket which is a great place to buy sandwiches to go, or have lunch or dinner in their restaurant. The food is much cheaper than many local restaurants and very good. Lucerne is a beautiful city. Enjoy!

Our room is overlooking Lake Lucerne . Coffee and water always available in the reception desk. Everything is walkable on the hotel . Staff is friendly. We will stay again .

Room was spacious, clean, and well decorated. Breakfast was great. Parking is in shopping center down the street. We stayed during the heat wave and humidity. A fan was in the room. It was rather hot in the room, even with the fan on. We opened all the patio doors (our room had three). It cooled off by the time we went to bed, but we closed them and it got quite miserable again in the night, so we opened the doors again and slept with the doors open. If you are staying in the summer heat, and you don't like to sleep with windows/patio doors open, or you don't sleep well with outside noise, you might not do well here. I would have no problem staying again, especially outside the summer heat timeframe.

Clean, good staff. Block or so from bus stop to rail and bus station. Station walkable but may want to take the bus with luggage. Bus every few minutes, Hotel only a couple of blocks to lake. Small shopping mall very close. No AC which is a common issue in Swiss hotels. Breakfast good but no hot food items. Location busy so good bit of traffic and street noise when you have to leave windows open due to heat. Would stay there again

The location is perfect. We arrived on foot from the train station and still had time to check in. The staff was always very friendly and took care of our bags so we could explore the city. All the attractions, including supermarkets and many restaurants, are close to the hotel. The breakfast was delicious, and the room was spotless.

Ontbijt ruim voldoende keuze.Kamer 337 veel stof op diverse plaatsen; boven garderobekast, op lamp, bedombouw en diverse verborgen plekjes.Vocht inwerking op deurkozijn van de badkamer. Douchegordijn is aan vervanging toe.Afbladerend schilderwerk .Druk bezocht hotel heeft wat onderhoud nodig, dan kan het weer jaren mee.Geen ernstige gebreken.Maar dat is onze persoonlijke mening.

Feels like a motel, not very clean and faucet kind of falling apart, and the couch has some stains. Construction happened after 10pm, pretty noisy. Location is great, and lots of bakeries around.

Hotel de la Paix was in a great location. The front desk staff was very helpful in recommending places to go and how to get there. I had a single room with a twin bed and a bathroom with a toilet and shower. It was quiet as it was on the courtyard side. The room was quite small so I had to put my luggage on the luggage rack behind the door. So I couldn't fully open the door to the room or the bathroom. Other than that slight inconvenience, everything was great!

The hotel was very well priced and reasonably located within 10-15 min walk from the train station. There are many shops, restaurants, supermarkets near by. We were given a second floor room with a balcony. The view and light is great. The beds were very comfy and the continental breakfast was very filling- lots of varieties. If I ever go back to Luzern I would stay there again

Very clean, great location, helpful staff who brought our bags to our room (we arrived before check-in and they stored them while we wandered through town). Coffee and tea available 24 hours, very creaky floors if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs if your spouse uses the restroom at night.

First some positives: the location is excellent. Take bus from the train station, and it stops right next to hotel in 10 minutes. It’s in middle of the city , so lot of dinning and shopping options Room size was good . We stayed 3 people. Bed and pillows: pillows were terrible. We requested second pillow for each of us, and still with two pillows it wasn’t good enough Air conditioning: be ready that this hotel doesn’t has any air conditioner in the room. We stayed in the month of August for 4 nights and temperature in the night was around 65-70F. They provide one 14” small table fan which may be good for one sofa bed next to it . We requested second fan, and it was denied. The solution hotel staff gave to get some cooling during night time is to open balcony doors (2 of them ) which let mosquitoes and road noise throughout the night.. overall all 4 nights were restless Breakfast: we paid for daily breakfast. It was mid. No scrambled eggs. Only boil eggs, 2 juices, some type of breads etc. same menu all 4 days .. it was Mid. So have high hopes on breakfast, even when it wasn’t complementary but paid. All in all, avoid this hotel.

This is an old building so yes, there will be creaky floors and ‘ambiance’ that some may not appreciate. We found the front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful. The view from our room (552) was out over the street towards Lake Lucerne. We had 3 windows, 2 of which were French doors opening into balconies. Easy walk to bakeries, local cheese shop, grocery, and many ‘best of Lucerne’ sites. Bus to the main train station was super easy.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is conveniently located, offered a Lucerne city card with each room for transportation and discounts. Our beds and pillows were very comfortable and the staff members were so helpful and friendly. They have a great continental breakfast we enjoyed.

Great location, walking distance to the main landmarks. Friendly staff, offered luggage keeping for us on the last day. We had some free time before the flight and wondered around in the city centre without worrying about the luggage. Before we left, they even gave us a bar of free chocolate!

Location was great and walkable to everything we wanted to see and do in Lucerne. This hotel does not have air conditioning and the fan provided in the room was not adequate. It was a failure on my part not to realize it did not list air conditioning as a feature when I booked it. Room was a decent size, included breakfast was fine.

Utmärkt läge nära till allt. Frukost är samma varje dag. Men champagne till frukost mycket bra. Frukost område ligger nära rökutrymen. När man sitter bredvid dörren får man mycket rök. Personal tycker att vi byter plats i stället stänga dörren?

Hotel de la Paix was an excellent hotel for us - in east walking distance to all amenities and to the train station. The staff at the front desk were amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The beds were very comfortable. The guest rooms are basic, clean, and had every thing we needed. The breakfast buffet was very good - again with great service.
