pet friendly. beds comfortable. price convenient, just a couple of blocks from the main street along the water front. the staff was very kind

The television had numerous problems. SPECTRUM cable is terrible! Television wouldn't turn off. Sound was terrible. We stay here every time we come to Morro Bay. Parking is limited.

Friendly service and check-in. Enough parking. Location close to strip. Clean room and working sink and shower (been in nice hotels where the sink drain was blocked). Pet friendly a plus.

Very nice staff; really appreciate their dog friendly policies and accommodations. Great view of the Morro Bay Rock.

The check in was quick, the room was clean. Plenty of parking and we were close to the beach, shops, & restaurants. We will stay there again.

We picked this hotel because it was dog friendly and well rated. Booking through Expedia apparently didn't explain the full process. Looking through the website a few days before our reservation we found a note about contacting the hotel to let them know we were bringing a dog. This was apparently not enough notice and they had to downgrade our room to a queen with no discount. The Queen bed itself was deformed with slumps in the middle of each side. It creacked all night and we slept only an hour or two. Otherwise, the room was clean and the water got hot. The location was great and you could walk to all the shops in the Bay.

It was just a room in a good tourist area. No real amenities but it was clean

This is **NOT** the dreamiest place you'll ever stay - and there are downsides - **BUT** for the price and location, you'll love this place (As long as you are not expecting perfection!). It's a very old property and it looks its age - but it's clean and consistently maintained. The staff is kind and helpful. The one thing I would change is the policy on SMOKING. There is no AC in the room, which is fine - but that requires windows to be open on warm days. That's fine, too - the ocean is just 2 blocks away and the breeze is beautiful. BUT - if you have the next-door neighbors we had, you'll be huffing a whole lot of second-hand smoke. Each room has a cute little table and two chairs in front of the window... so, about 10 feet away from us, two guests would start smoking like a chimney at 7am and smoke all day outside until 9pm. The rooms are "no smoking" but our room became smoke central for the better part of the day. I would require guests to smoke in a designated area - not right in front of the room.

If you like Pine-Sol smell, absolutely minimal fixes on everything, linens that were not clean and mattresses that saw better times as well as rude staff, you found the right place. We ended up leaving without actually using the room ( of course no refund).

It's a little dated but rooms are very clean. Plenty of nearby shopping & great restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

The fan in the room was old and rusted and the room smelt musty when we walked in. Just not somewhere I'd recommend.

This place is just pain terrific. Plenty parking, Very clean, cute. Old school beach charm. Coffee, microwave, refrigerator in room. Super neat & super comfy. I love this place!! Best find in Morrow Bay!!!

I’ll start by the positives: location was nice a few blocks from downtown and the beds were spacious but very uncomfortable; you could feel the springs every time you moved. Also the walls are paper thin, we could literally hear the person next door snoring all night and them turning on a faucet upstairs. The rooms are well equipped with a fridge and microwave but there is no AC or even fan so it can get a bit stuffy with no air circulation, I’d u open the curtains everyone can see inside your room, they don’t have the sheer curtains to block visual. The shower has no pressure. Also keep in mind if you have pets the fee is per dog per night so if you’re staying a while it can add up quickly. Overall nice location but wouldn’t stay here again, just not worth the price for what you get. You can stay at some of the chain hotels with more accommodations like pool and breakfast for quite a lot less money.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of noise upstairs and no air conditioning.

Upon checking in and getting to our rooms we noticed quickly that the room didn't have AC at all, only a heater. The beds were hard and stiff, the pillows would flatten out when you laid down on them. The bathroom toilet was right next to the shower so when you step into the bath you hit your heels on the toilet. The water temperature was good but zero pressure. The walls are paper thin, you could hear people's conversations (thank god no one around us when we stayed wanted to get 'busy') We brought our dog with us, the pet fee was cheaper than most inns which was really nice but there was no designated pet area unfortunately. The room over-all I'll give a 4/10 stars. Nice enough place in a pinch if you want something cheap and is within walking distances of the local shops. Last but not least, the house keeper was really nice and sweet and did an amazing job at keeping our room clean.

Walls are very thin. Bathroom window lets in too much light in the morning.

I didnt realise the room didnt have AC so had to have window fully open. As such the room was really noisy, from the sound of cars, gulls and very inconsiderate people in other rooms shouting at their children. The beds were uncomfortable and the alarm clock buzzed and had to be unplugged so we had the worst nights sleep for whole 3 week holiday. Would not recommend hotel

Don’t be fooled by the pictures on the Sandpiper’s website. The room I stayed in on the ground floor was dark, depressing, rundown and very out of date. The lights inside the room are very dim. The bedside lamps are barely enough light to read by. I asked for a room with a bathtub which I got, but the tub was shabby and had no plug! When I asked the manager for a plug, he didn’t have one and said he would go out and buy one. Four hours later when I returned to the office I asked for the plug and he said in a frustrated voice. “ Why do you keep bugging me I told you I would get you a plug.” He then handed me a plug he had bought . When I tried it out in the bathtub it was too big and I couldn’t use it. So much for customer service. I will never go back to this place again, and would not refer my enemies to it.

We had to cancel on day of checkin due to family illness!!! We called the hotel and spoke with the frt desk! They were very nice and wouldn't charge us because we stay there often!!! The whole trip had to be canceled! We were told your policy is only one night out of two would be refunded!!! Because it was to late to cancel! Thx for your help!

Check in and check out was easy. The decor in the room and overall inn was unique and cute!

The hotel owner is on the property, he is very nice, helpful and respectful. This hotel has a great deal of charming atributes. The rooms have a cozy beach theme and very comfortable beds and seating arrangements. The property ownerhas thought a great deal about guest comforts and convenience.

I would have given 5 stars but our room key was turned off before the check out time. I was loading up to leave and couldn’t get back in the room for the rest of my stuff. Luckily my husband was still in the room. Overall the room was good and quiet place to stay. In walking distance of shopping and restaurants

Owner was extremely rude to my husband accusing our dog on pooping on property. We were did not go where we were accused of. Didn’t want to listen to my husband or look at cameras to prove wasn’t our dog. We have poop bags on our dogs leash. The whole situation couldn’t been handled better.

The man who checked us in was not very nice. He seemed annoyed we were there late, checked in about 9:30pm. The room was small, old and dated. There was rust on the ceiling vents. The bed was very hard.

Great location near restaurants and shops. Cute place. Good price. We came for our son’s graduation and we’re lucky to get a room just a few months beforehand.

Came to get away from the heat,great place to come. Room was good and area was find,good for walking and close the main streets to shop and enjoy shopping.

Relaxing stay at the sandpiper.,comfortable bed and microwave was useful. I felt very much at home. You can’t beat the location.

Is complimentary breakfast typically not included at the $250 plus price point? Also mattresses felt somewhat lumpy.

Priced right. I would’ve liked a Keurig coffee maker lol. Smelled heavily of bleach. Owners very nice. Bed semi comfortable. Sheets semi soft. BUT I am VERY particulate about my bedding. No continental breakfast so I just grabbed stuff for breakfast ie; donuts etc during my stay.

It’s an older hotel but very clean. You walk in and it smells clean. There is so many options to dine in. Very cute town.
