Acorn Lodge Hotel Gatwick & Parking

If you are taking a trip from Gatwick, I can highly recommend Acorn Lodge. The room was clean and tidy on our arrival, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast that was made available at 5AM was just enough to start our day. What made the stay even better was the shuttle bus service. £10 is a bit of a bargain, when you consider a taxi is almost double that at £19. Plus with very reasonably priced daily parking rates also offered, it is definitely worth booking a stay here. We would definitely consider using Acorn Lodge again. Thank you!

Perfect for our needs. Close to airport with a shuttle( extra cost) that picked us up late and dropped us early for morning flight. Best bonus, Indian food restaurant in motel was delicious!!

Booked a deluxe double room stayed in room 43 on the ground floor, the room was a little tired and needed a lick of paint to refresh it. The room was small but had the basics,desk, two chairs, fridge, tea, coffee and milk. The TV was mounted quite high on the wall making viewing uncomfortable for longer periods. The bed is up against a wall with a window above you have to climb on the bed to open close blinds and curtains or squeeze around the end of the bed and stretch over.The accessible bathroom equipment was eroded, the paint was peeling on it and it was loose and wobbly. This equipment was not used. Cleanliness could have be improved round the edges of the carpet and along base/skirting boards. Deep clean of the interior radiator required. The grout in the bathrrom was just beginning to show signs of black mould. Unfortunately, the shower head does not stay in the grip. The water pressure is lovely and powerful. Acessible bathroom would benefit from a wall mounted pull down seat or a small shower stool. The breakfast enough to keep you going cereal, yoghurt, fruit etc., All staff and the owner who happened to be at the property were really lovely, courteous and very accomodating. Any issues raised were dealt with swiftly and they could not have been nicer. The staff are this motels strength. There is limited parking at the front of the property but the turnover of guests means you can usually park there. Longer stay parking is at the rear of the property.

Handy indian restaurant as part of the stay. Breakfast was limited but enough. Beds comfy and enough pillows. The room was very clean and spacious and we used their shuttle service for £15 to the terminal.

The service provided at the Acorn was beyond compare. From check-in to checking out, everything was perfect and the staff were kind and helpful. We dined at the in hotel restaurant and we’re greeted with polite service and extraordinary dishes.

I couldn’t stand up in the attic room, it was really very hot in there, light in the toilet was broken, mattress protector covered in hairs and the whole room felt like it needed some refurbishment, it’s all looking very dated. Staff friendly and nice that it has a car park (albeit cramped). Fine for 1 night.

Very good hotel and looks like it has been recently upgraded. Friendly check in offering discounted food and a bar but no mention that they cannot sell alcohol? It would have been nice to have known in advance.

Hotel was fine, Indian food was excellent and the airport transfer was on time and the driver very polite and helpful

We paid for a triple room and upon check in - the staff tried to give us a room with a double bed only. When we raised the issue that we paid for at least a twin and a single, they did move us to a larger room, however the single bed that was in the room was literally broken....when laid upon you rolled off onto the floor. When we complained again, he tried to give us a room with 2 single beds (again after we paid for a triple) Finally we ended up with a twin and a semi functional single (even though the mattress was shot, sagging and uncomfortable - at least it wasn't broken) The breakfast "included" was weak. No coffee, and some watered down kool-aid type drink was passed off as "juice". Pre packaged pastries and some dry cereal were the only other things available. There was mold growing in the corner of the shower. The towel bar was falling off the wall, and there was no soap nor shampoo in the dispensers. The only redeeming quality, was that they have a good indian/curry restaurant on the main floor. However, that alone wouldn't be enough for me to stay here again.

Room wasn’t clean at all. I have even found an underpants in the bathroom… Never will go again to this hotel when I will have connexion from Gatwick London.

Old mattresses in the tiny car park. Not much kerb appeal. 22 degree heat and radiator blasting out heat. Tiny, unclean rooms. Would never stay again, andvthe £83 per night is far too high.

Outdated bathroom with no fan, shower stall dirty and extremely slippery, no security features on room door, breakfast nook offered few healthy choices. Shuttle bus to the airport, although handy, was old, dirty and lacking a side panel.

Likes: Near to Gatwick Airport, Airport Transfer Available, Good Room Service, Pleasant Staff Dislikes: The room was very dusty. The fan was so dusty that we were unable to use it. The windows were also dirty and dusty. Old items (TV etc.) were found in the storage area/cupboards. The bathroom and toilet areas were a bit small. My husband and I survived that one night but we did not enjoy our stay.

The hotel is in pretty run down condition. The shower in our room didn't drain, the outlet and TV didn't work, it was too hot and provided fan was very loud (the windows were to the parking lot on the street level and the workers smoked just outside). There was no fridge in the room so we couldn't save our food and the continental breakfast was as basic as could be. The carpets are dingy and the halls narrow and dark. All-in-all pretty tired and not very welcoming. The staff member at the front desk was helpful in coordinating our (paid) shuttle to the airport and providing extra pillows when requested.

The hotel is very clean and the staff is great. I highly recommend them for a night or two when traveling out of LGW. They also have a very reasonably priced shuttle to the airport. 15 GBP for four of us.

The bathroom smelled of mildew and the sheets/pillows sort of kicked up dust when I fluffed them? The person who I paid to transport me to the airport in the morning seemed very annoyed to have to take me, and not the most friendly

The room was a lot smaller than it looked in the picture. No AC and the room was very uncomfortably hot. Room was a little janky and things kept falling apart

My room was at the front and ground level, the window would not shut completely and the site is on a busy main road leading to Gatwick. A different room or possibly a window which shut, would have given a better rating as eveything else was good.

This place was the perfect place to spend my 12 hour overnight layover from London Gatwick!! Not a fancy hotel, but amazing for the price! The room wasn't very big, but it was all I needed to spend the night and get a good night's sleep!! The bed was the most comfortable one I've slept in in a long while, and they had a large selection of pillow thicknesses and firmnesses - I slept like a BABY that night!! I only wish my flight left later so that I could have slept some more!!! The bathroom was Very clean with plenty of towels!! I will stay there again a heartbeat!! Also, it is easily accessible by bus - only 2 pounds - or they also have a shuttle bus option! The breakfast was (once again) nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate, and actually MORE THAN FAIR given the price of my stay!! I Highly recommend!

Nice hotel stay, not far from the airport and a decent price for their bus service! I did find the room a bit too hot with no idea how to turn it down. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy excellent breakfast.

My wife and I are over seventy, and found our cases a handful. To have our driver from the hotel, with his two colleagues, push past us, go through the door and allow it to close in our faces, was disgusting. Even allowing for Ramadan, there was no excuse for such behaviour. We won’t stay again, and there was evidence of the ground floor windows being prised by a bar from the outside. Overall an unpleasant experience.

My stay at Acorn Lodge was very good all staff were very friendly & helpful helping with my luggage & ringing a taxi for me. The breakfast was well presented & had a good variety of food & drinks. If im ever in the area again ill certainly stay there. Thank you everyone

Payed for airport drop-off, when it was suppose to happen, they told us to walk over a mile and half in the freezing cold

This was just an ok place to stay. At check in, no one was available and I needed to call their phone number multiple times to be checked in for my room. I'd called beforehand to confirm the check-in time and whoever answered the phone wasn't very business like, just "Hello" isn't how you answer the phone for a business and when I asked if this was the Acorn Lodge I was responded with "Yes, yes, what do you want?". The breakfast is a bunch of prepacked items, which was ok for me, but not anything hot or fresh. The room had patches in the wall where I assume a TV was removed in place of one that sits on the counter with a cable running down the wall and some of the bathroom fixtures were a little worse for wear. It often sounded like members of the hotel staff were having arguments with people as they were checking in. However, some positives were the restaurant on site was fantastic, tasty and well priced! The location is perfect and was walkable to the airport as well as into downtown Horley itself.

Where should I start? I sent several emails to confirm the shuttle service but the hotel did not respond until 3 days later when I was in transit and had no wifi. I was left in the cold at midnight with my young son to fetch a bus from Gatwick. Luckily it is in close proximity to the airport. Additionally, the carpet in the room was wet. I was highly annoyed but at that hour, I just wanted to sleep and leave. The free breakfast was trash. And I almost broke my neck on the very narrow staircase.

Great budget hotel only minute to Gatwick on hotel shuttle bus. Bonus breakfast provided.

We stayed here the night before an early flight from Gatwick. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was good value, clean and comfortable. It's not a fancy hotel and some bits are a little tired but it was a bargain and much quieter than the premier inns etc at the airport. We arrived late so we didn't need dinner which we were gutted about as the food looked and smelled incredible. Next time I'll be arriving earlier for a great curry. When we arrived we arranged our transfer to the airport with reception staff which was simple. The transfer was a bargain and very quick (less than 15mins at 8am on a weekday). We came by train from London Bridge to Horley station and you can walk or get a cab (5 minute journey) to the hotel. I recommend this hotel if you want somewhere quiet, basic, near the airport and friendly.

Had a good nights rest, not far from the airport £17 cab fare from Gatwick and back as had a bit of luggage otherwise could have walked from Horley .. saving a few dollars … what was great about here apart from the attentive staff for any request, there was a really tasty food experience from the restaurant .. we had a lovely Indian takeaway in our room watching a film on netflix , cooked downstairs … Great chef!! Friendly staff!! Quiet location even though on a high road, warm room.. hot shower … Basic room .. everything was fine for what we needed 😃💫

Located very close to Gatwick Airport (it's actually a 20 min walk but not completely paved). The rooms are simple. The breakfast is more of a "continental breakfast" with toast and cereal.

Would definitely choose another option. We were surprised how bad it actually was. The breakfast is really bad and it is actually not a breakfast. Even the coffee is really bad. The only positive thing is the airport shuttle. Stay away!!

Was on a main road so was a bit noisy but I was tired so slept through it. Restaurant available (Indian food) or I was able to order a cheese omelette from room service menu.

I very rarely write reviews but I had to write one on this hotel. I originally booked the premier inn at Gatwick airport but changed my booking to this hotel as it was a little cheaper and included breakfast. My flight was delayed so got there at 2.30 in the morning after a very tiring and long journey home. We were shown to our room which looked nothing like the photos, It was two flights up and was like an attic room, very small, the ceiling was not level, there wasn’t enough headroom to walk about in this tiny space. We were very disappointed. But we fell asleep looking forward to at least having breakfast. When going for breakfast in the morning it was even more disappointment. A few plastic tubs of cereals, basic bread from a supermarket you had to toast yourself, a few choices of jam and a coffee maker home that didn’t work. I so wish we had stuck to the premier inn, not what you want at the end of a long tiring journey home

This property has recently been taken over by caring people who putting much energy into making it quite boutique. Our guest room (double and single bed) was clean and very comfortable. Quality curtains, TV, linen and towels. In process of upgrading rooms (which did not affect stay). Still 1 wall needed painting and a lampshade renewing. The ensuite bathroom immaculately clean, modern and powerful shower. A kettle in room provided a nice morning cuppa, and a bottle of water was thoughtful. Staff upon check in and check out courteous and friendly. We paid an extra £3.50 each for breakfast. Id say dont bother as we took one look and decided to go elsewhere. I couldnt stomach a pot noodle and cream cake at 7am! Parking at rear of hotel for 1 night was free. I think if you wished to leave car longer there is a daily fee, but we were just dropping off our daughter. We felt that perhaps £114 a night was quite steep just for the room whilst in the middle of a soft refurbishment but would concider staying again as was less than a 5 minute drive to airport and we felt safe and looked after.
