The room we booked had a broken AC. Had to repack and move to another room. No sofa. Broken patio blinds/no privacy. The smell of marijuanna wafted through the pool area. Front desk girls eyes were glazed over. Paid $90 a night to tie our boat up to a barnacle crusted sea wall with half pilings to tie up. We had to rent a car to buy 5 fenders to keep the boat from crashing into the wall. URGH!

We are no strangers to Waterside Suites as this is our second time staying. The overall condition of the property was good and it appeared that staff were doing their best in updating and maintaining it. The guest services staff was extremely polite and thorough ensuring that we knew where to park, where our room was located, and instructions for the pool and ice machine. The room is VERY spacious with the upstairs being an entire bedroom with shower. Although this unit had a bed in the living area, it was a nice space just to chill and watch television. The kitchen offered a nice sink, refrigerator, microwave and stove, along with dishes and utensils. The balcony was huge and could easily seat 4-6 people, even though for this trip it was only two of us. The balcony overlooks a canal which was nice, and the pool was refreshing. The only two negatives were that there was only one ice machine available, and a drain around the pool was clogged. This place was affordable and easy to access the Overseas highway. Honestly, probably the best deal for the size of room that you'll find in Key Largo. I would 100% stay here again.

Centrally located and very spacious for the price. Property grounds were a little rough. No housekeeping during stay, which was explained upfront. The place could have used a broom, more than 3 each of forks and spoons and hand towels. Minimally stocked would be a good description. Our elderly dog had some trouble with the strep stairs to the bedroom. For the price it was definitely adequate and reasonable and met our needs. The canal view was nice too.

We booked a room at this hotel as it offered two beds and two separate rooms which was perfect for us and our adult daughter. The room is nicely renovated and we enjoyed the small balcony overlooking the canal. The downside is that we were charged a $50 resort fee. The only amenity the hotel offered was a very small pool that we had no interest in using. The other downside was when we asked for additional towels and coffee. They were not brought to the room which would’ve been nice after paying a $50 resort fee.

The king bed upstairs was very comfortable. Location was perfect. We close to all the dive charters and walkable to skippers dock side for drinks. Having a balcony overlooking the canal was nice. The ac was a bit loud when it kicked on but kept the unit nice and cool. The pool is simple but well maintained.

It was nice to be in the canal but lake of maintenance and being there for 7 days we could have had room service more than once had to get our toilet paper and towels shower was missing one sliding door so water all over the floor so won't be back here soon till they clean it up. Maybe get somebody to know that can manage it

The place was roomy, updated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the laundry. Had to download an app and pay minimum $10.00 for a $6.00 laundry. The whole app thing for a simple load of laundry was a bit much.

The rooms are spacious and very recently and tastefully refurbished. Great balconies and marina view. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The area around the building was however a bit run down and there was debris, stored "materials" and other stuff everywhere especially around the parking spaces. Very small pool area always full of kids and a bit unusable. I would definitely stay again, if I'll be away during the day, otherwise not a hanging out property.

Everything looked good and clean. However, we realized later in the night there was definitely a roach infestation in the kitchen. Also, we asked staff a few times for items and never received them and our room was not serviced daily.

The furnishings were great. The host staff always very. However, the bottles of toiletries were empty and had to request more. The did not come until the next morning so I used hand soap to shower. But the worst part was the roaches and other bugs. They were in the kitchen cabinets and on the couters. I also found them in the bathroom. Unless something changes, I will never stay there again. I believe we need some kind of compensation for this stay!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Loved the two rooms; loved the location. Check in was easy. However, the floor of our rooms was really dirty. Didn't realize that until we took off our white socks before bed and they were literally black. Please attend to that. The rest of the room, and the bedding were clean.

Some really nice things and some bad things, I will highlight the good first: The office associates were polite & friendly. The residence felt clean, bedding looked and felt clean, bathrooms were immaculate, towels very white and fresh, provided hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers, extra rolls of toilet paper, nasal tissues, nice contemporary updates to bathrooms and upstairs bedroom, and balcony had nice view. The bad: there was musky odor upon entrance, not terrible but very noticeable upon entry. I observed small cockroach running across the kitchen counter, as well as 2 smaller roaches running across the floor. The ceiling fan in the bedroom would not come on. Note: roaches need evaluated ASAP as they look like they could be the german cockroach, if so it is a very new colony and should be fairly easily remedied if dealt with right away. I saw NONE in bathrooms and upstairs, only in kitchen.

I liked the balcony overlooking the marina. I wish I had a boat. I didn't understand why the back stationary glass was missing from the shower. It only had the rolling door. Had to be careful not to get the floor wet.

Very spacious room, I like the two story townhouse feel with the bedroom upstairs. Plastic curtains on sliding door were broken, he was chipping off the walls. Could use a refresh.

Really lovely place. The rooms are huge, only a bit dated, but fantastic overall. If the pool had a net available to remove dead bees and the hotel had at least a snack shop - even better, a bar - then I would give it 10 out of 10. As it is, it’s a solid 8 as it really is fantastic at doing the basics very well and the rooms are, as mentioned, huge, as well as comfortable, well cooled with the aircon and the views of the inland waterway from the balconies are brilliant. Would definitely stay here again without question!

When we arrived I was a little worried because the appearance of the building is not very nice. But as soon as we entered the room I felt relieved because it was quite nice and very clean. We had a sofa bed with a half bath and kitchen downstairs and a king size bed with a full bath upstairs. We didn’t use the pool or any other areas of the hotel.

Awesome place, your really getting a condo not just a hotel room. Right on a canal so you have a great view from your balcony. Don't waste your time trying to check in before 3 though had read the other reviews with same result. Not sure why but if I go back I'll wait till 3

We enjoyed our three nights at Waterside Suites. Large, comfortable, recently renovated loft suite with a full kitchen and a balcony facing the marina. Staff professional and courteous, and the cookies in the main office a nice touch. A little noisy at night because of the bar and restaurant right across the marina from our suite but it would usually calm down most nights before 11 pm. The hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants. Recommend Doc’s Diner for breakfast. Always appreciate free parking on the premises. A word of caution for people with mobility issues because there are some stairs to climb up to the units and another flight from the main floor to the bedroom. Not an issue for us but I can see it being a bit of a challenge for some people. All in all, a reasonably priced alternative to some of the chain hotels nearby.

Waterside Suites and Marina felt like home! We stayed for four nights and loved every night. The staff members were all polite and helpful. Check-in was simple and the peanut butter cookies were amazing! The suite is the perfect size to hang out between activities and extremely safe. The suite was clean, organized and had everything we needed, including a full kitchen with dinnerware. The location on the marina is convenient and fun. We can't wait to come stay again.

The staff takes a lazy approach to early check-ins. An early check-in request is a request, and it can understandably be approved or denied. The staff is a hard NO and inflexible. Regardless of whether a room is available, there is a 15:00 check-in period. There are better hotel options in Key Largo.

This property and their management need to treat their staff better and provide their guests with adequate support. When we checked in, the front desk attendant was not friendly. Our key cards were dysfunctional twice. On the second instance there was no one at the front desk and we were locked out of our room. Our room was infested with bugs. When I spoke to the front desk they told me that because I booked with Hotels.com I have to contact them for a refund. The pictures are from the bed we were sleeping in. We woke up at 12:30am because we felt them in our bed. By the time we got moved to another room we did not get back to bed until 3am. This was not a restful night. The hotel denied Hotels.com permission for a refund stating that we left the windows open and that is why there were bugs in the room. We explained that there are 3 stages of bug life present Larva, mature bugs and dead wings shedded. The picture show this. You can not get larva, live bugs and dead bugs from leaving a window open (which we also did not do). This has become a blame game and a maze of calling for resolution after not sleeping last night and while on vacation.

We stayed here for two nights for a wedding and were pleasantly surprised by our suite which was very spacious. The only thing we were not happy about was that the hotel would not allow us to have early check in. They seem to have a strict no early check in policy even though that is not advertised. We called the day before and they told us to call the next morning and when we called the next morning they told us there was no early check in available. We arrived to check in around 2:30 and they made us wait until exactly 3pm.

Very spacious. Front desk was a bit rude. They made a miatake and kept using the 3rd party blame when in fact it was them. They made it good but there was some back and forth until I repeated myself a few times and told her to call the manager. All good. I would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our 4-night stay here. The place was clean and well kept. We appreciated having a kitchen and eating on the deck watching boats go by in the marina. We also walked to several good restaurants in the area. Another reviewer mentioned the music from a nearby bar-- our room was further away fro so that wasn't an issue for us. We would stay here again.

First of all who ever said Big Chill was walking distance of 3 blocks from this place. Lies. Lies. Lies. It is about 8 miles south from Big Chill. But what a great place. Next the marina, you can watch boats come in and out. The suite was clean. Great normal size kitchen. Large balcony on the first floor. You park your car under your side. Two inner sides have ramps. Two other sides have stairs. I dont like too many steps but i managed. Staff super friendly, ask every day of you need towels or turn downs. At night super quiet. There is a restaurant on thr opposite of the marina named sharkeys. We went there for dinner on night. Super casual fun bar. The pool was clean. Plenty of lounge chairs. Again i have nothing bad to say of this place.

We enjoyed our three nights at Waterside Suites. Large, comfortable, recently renovated loft suite with a full kitchen and a balcony facing the marina. Staff professional and courteous, and the cookies in the main office a nice touch. A little noisy at night because of the bar and restaurant right across the marina from our suite but it would usually calm down most nights before 11 pm. The hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants. Recommend Doc’s Diner for breakfast. Always appreciate free parking on the premises. A word of caution for people with mobility issues because there are some stairs to climb up to the units and another flight from the main floor to the bedroom. Not an issue for us but I can see it being a bit of a challenge for some people. All in all, a reasonably priced alternative to some of the chain hotels nearby.

Not sure how known this property is/isn't, but it seemed like a hidden gem to us. Right on a channel with a lively restaurant across from it (plenty within a short drive). Nice balcony with morning- evening sun. Great for hanging out and relaxing. Large, 2 level unit…would highly recommended

We liked the location since we could walk to a couple of restaurants/bars. The staff was really helpful. Nice accommodations for the price. There was not a jet ski rental next to the resort like we thought, but the rest met or exceeded our expectations.

When we arrived the front desk agent was very accommodating and put us in a room away from the bar/restaurant across the canal. We did hear the music playing but enjoyed it very much. It ended at 10-10:30 pm which was fine. The room was as described, quite roomy and clean. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the boats go by. There is tea, coffee and fresh baked cookies in the reception area. The pool looked nice although we didn't get a chance to get in. The location is great! There is a wonderful diner within a few mins drive named Doc's, I think. We had a very good, resonably priced breakfast there. It has a long history and the service and portions were great. We would definitely stay at Waterside Suites if in the area again. I do, however, feel compelled to mention one thing, though. When went to bed at night I found a live roach under my pillow. We took care of it but it didn't keep me awake as the place is very clean and that can happened, and has, to us, even at the best hotels. So, I wouldn't let it keep me from staying there again. When we departed we did report it to the reception agent. She was surprised and said she would tell management. So, I would recommend this all suite hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced overnight stay with a great view.

My husband and I stayed a week at Waterside Suites & Marina. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The unit was very quiet and spacious with a split level plan. We spent a lot of time on the balcony overlooking the canals- watching the boats go back and forth. It is walking distance to several restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

Neither tv in our room worked! The office couldn't fix it! They gave us 1 washcloth for the family for the weekend! Ice machine didn't work! Floors were greasy! And our door was almost kicked in and the office would not even look at the cameras! Absolutely zero care in the world! I would NEVER stay here again and definitely wouldn't recommend!!
