Days Inn by Wyndham Petoskey

Hauling luggage in and out of the hotel was difficult without automatic doors or working elevator. All of the doors open into you which didn’t make sense for “hospitality”. The pool area was very run down, pool ice cold and hot tub barely luke warm and neither appear to have been cleaned in years. Breakfast was convenient. Staff was mediocre.

The room was dirty and beat up. The carpet was pulling up in the middle of the room revealing carpet tacks. The pool was freezing. The jacuzzi was warm and filthy. Gross.

Hot tub was not working but could go to Apple Tree Inn and use their pool and hot tub. Very unique elevator. Small home type elevator with inside door to close. Could barely fit the luggage cart and a person. Great hot breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and helpful! The building is getting run down. They were remodeling the exercise room - they REALLY should be concentrating on upgrading flooring, siding that has fallen off and loose banisters on stairs. BUT it was clean!. The "elevator" fit a luggage cart and myself only (I am 96 pounds)...no one any bigger could really fit. Continental breakfast/coffee were good.

Needs updating terribly, carpet, flooring, bathrooms and furniture. Back door was unlocked throughout our 2 day stay. When advising front desk, they stated maintenance was aware of the problem. Lock was never fixed.

Staff was friendly it was very clean. My husband thought the bed was very uncomfortable. Parking was terrible I don’t think there were enough parking for the amount of rooms the have plus the spaces were so small you couldn’t get out of the car with a car next to you if you had a large vehicle. The drive way in was very narrow and the sign was very hard to see

Nice hotel, limo service to downtown, but the t amenity I like best is the large pool that has a deep end 9 feet deep.

Went for a weekend away. Room was great, bed comfortable, pillows awesome and the shower was excellent. Common areas, show a little wear and the back door didn't lock, which wasn't overly concerning because it was Petoskey. Breakfast was also very good. Best surprise was the free limo drop off and pick up within 2 miles - it was great!

Our stay was great for the price point. Front desk friendly and helpful. I think the rooms have been updated which is a plus. Unfortunately, the hot tub did not work, though we were able to go next door to another hotel to use theirs. The exterior doors do automatically close after coming in/going out - a definite security concern.

Room was dirty. We found food stuck to the light bulb, and old apple core in the trash. There was a big brown stain on the matress. There was a dirty towel folded up on the rack. The pool was very old and there is zero ventilation. The rim of the pool and hot tub had a brown stain on them. The water was nice, but there was a lot of sediment in both the pool and the hot tub. We will pay extra to stay somewhere nicer next time

The black mold in the bathroom

Carpet both in hallway and in hotel room was filthy. You could see the black areas where there was walking done. We felt that we had to wear our shoes in the hotel room at all times. Shower was old and when you showered, you could not feel any soap on your body or shampoo in your hair. It was so much hard water. Sitting in the chair in the main sitting room of the hotel. The arms and where the head touches the chair was black.

Two words. Hell Hole. Do not stay here. Big mistake. Not clean. Dangerous. Staff were amazingly friendly but this place is seriously nasty.

Not enough parking and black mold on the bathroom door

They definitely need to train your housekeeping department. I had to go to the store and buy my own cleaning products to clean my shower. NEVER should a person find pubic hair in the shower.

The room was clean enough, though it did have a food type odor. The pool area was the most disappointing part, it smelled like mildew and was dim and rundown looking. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. The room was very dirty. Furniture was ripped and stained. The bathroom was corroded and gross. Staff extremely inhospitable. DO NOT STAY HERE. I left after 10mins.

Our room had a musty smell. Something was creating humidity in the room, the sheets, pillows and all fabrics were constantly damp. The overall condition is poor.

Just a one night stay back in my old stomping grounds. The bed and pillows super comfortable. Room was really nice. Shower had great pressure - only concern is the shower curtain would not stay in tiled area and floor got wet. Great location and would recommend.

First glance room is tidy and clean. Nice size fridge. AC worked great. Bed & pillows are extremely uncomfortable & recommend bringing your own. Curtains do not wrap around so light was pouring in very early. Bathroom was okay. Around the shower handle was black mold. The fridge made random noises all night. Staff were very friendly & helpful.

Great value. Pool was nice. Breakfast was great. Tv and WiFi never worked properly or was unreliable. Location is ideal for the areas we explored and shuttle service to casino was nice

Pillows are lumpy, hotel under construction and debris, mattresses, dirt in hallway. Very small rooms. Semi clean, breakfast area was clean and had good food options

Great staff. Clean room. Bathroom had a rusty lamp and a shower that started to flood the bathroom if you didn’t point it completely at the wall and obvious water damage and such.

Close to downtown and a beach. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. However the property itself is in need of some upkeep. The towel bar was broken off the wall in our bathroom, walls in room and hallways scuffed and scratched. The hotel itself in need of some basic upkeep and renovation. Walls are thin could hear noises from other rooms in our room.

Up most of the night to a dog barking and being able to hear people talking and moving around upstairs. The breakfast was good, but very limited privacy when you can hear everything!

The room was not ready when we checked in and had to wait two hours before we could get into our room, after I asked whether it was ready or not; was to get a call when ready which never happened. When you took a shower the shower curtain did not keep the water in the shower, flooded the bath room floor, and the towels were damp-need doors! On Saturday when we returned(5:00pm) the room was not made up nor clean towels were there. Had to go ask to have the room made up. Desk said a D and D tag was on the door , which it was not-door next door had their tag on the door. Will not recommend nor will ever use this hotel again!

While my two night stay was as good as any other hotel stay that I’ve had, it was the Customer Service that made this one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. In the early evening of my second night, it became apparent that a blizzard forecast for the area was probably going to force me into staying an additional day or two if I did not get out of town as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I had rented skis and since the ski shop was closed until the next day, I was looking at the possibility of having to miss my window for a safe, drive home. Lucky for me, Grant was working behind the desk. He offered to drop off my skis the next morning, allowing me to get on the road at 2am and get home just ahead of the ice storm. Without his help, I would have been stuck there for at least an additional day or two. Thank you, Grant!!!

We arrived to check in at 3pm and our room wasn’t ready. Seat clerk said it should be ready in 35 minutes and she would call us. Good thing we decided to get an early dinner even though we wanted to freshen up and change since it was rainy and chilly. Never got a call back. We go back about 6:30 and there were 2 parties waiting before us. Stood in line for about 20 minutes before the same desk clerk came back. She was frazzled. When came my turn I mentioned that we were supposed to get a call and she blamed it on the manager who left. There were complaints about rooms not being ready. I was supposed to initial that I would be liable for any damages or smoke smell (we don’t smoke either way) but at this point we didn’t know what we were getting in to. I commented that I was worried about initialing anything and the desk clerk slammed her hand down on the paper, crumpled the paper up and threw it on the floor. Unbelievable!! We did take pictures of the damages on the wall to make sure we wouldn’t be liable. Breakfast tables were sticky, seems from build up. Our paper plates stuck so bad even ripped our paper plates when we were going to throw them away. So disgusting and disappointing for the price you pay.

The staff at Petoskey, Michigan, Days Inn were remarkably cheerful and helpful. Though the entire region was experiencing a power outage during the late March ice storm, the staff continued to operate with patience and helpfulness and good humor. They offered unlimited comforters, small battery operated lights. They charged our cell phones with a large power pack. The manager's husband agreed to pick up a grocery item for me without expecting a tip. Later, he agreed to take my sister and myself to shop at the local grocery store, again, not expecting compensation. All staff were pleasant throughout our stay.

The only problem we had was housekeeping was understaffed and our room wasn't cleaned and ready for us until around 7 p.m.

When we were checking in, the ladies at the desk were distracted talking about a pen that someone took. It took 10 minutes to check in because the one woman kept stopping to look for the specific pen. The cleanliness was poor. We got to our room and had to ask for clean sheets because there was BLOOD on them. On every pillowcase, and on one of the blankets. Unsure if they were just stains, because it was still red in places instead of brownish like an old stain. There were many other minor cleanliness/maintenance issues, like sand in the pool & hot tub. Also the shower soaked the bathroom walls & door no matter what we did to stop it, and it was obvious that it was doing that for a long time because the walls and door had water damage and mold there already. Despite ALL of these things, I didn't plan on leaving a review. We were staying 1 night because we made a last minute trip to the area for the Mackinaw Bridge Walk on Labor Day. Most places were booked and everywhere was expensive (including this location $218!). We just needed a place to sleep, as we were leaving at 6am anyway. The worst part: we had just gone to sleep when at 11pm, 2 young women walked into our room! They were given keys and told our room was theirs! They were confused, and went to the desk to get their correct room. We bolted the door with all locks. Of course my husband and I couldn't sleep after that. We had our kids in the room! It felt very unsafe.

It's been my go-to property anytime I stay in the Petoskey area. Aside from the clean and safe environment, the front desk staff and housekeeping staff are great. Sarah is the best at check in/out. I checked in very late Friday and a new employee was working. She was very cordial and professional and helpful... a good person to interact with after hours and hours of travel.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. They were extremely friendly, and accommodated many needs that we had. There was a free limo service that we used. That was incredible. We will definitely be staying here in the future!

The location was ideal

Stayed here for a race I was in. It was very convenient to downtown where the race started.

In the heart of food and shopping! Phenomenal sunset/sunrise deck area for guests! Friendly staff! Good value. Will definitely stay again.

We had an excellent 3 days and 2 nights. Everything is clean, bug free, and the staff are super friendly. Anything we asked for was promptly provided. Breakfast was prepared perfectly, kept clean, and well stocked from 6-10 am both days. They had the sausage patties and today there were also cheese omlets. :) The coffee is fabulous and they offer cocoa and a variety of hot tea choices. The room refrigerator is a good size with a tiny freezer. The pool was large and 9ft deep at one end! My husband and Son are both 6 ft tall so don't normally get pools over their head which made for fun water games. My grandson is 6. He loved the shallow end and said it was warm enough. The hot tub is good size and has 6 large jets. People have commented about the hot tub being dirty but in fact had a rust stain that does not affect the water. We thought the beds were comfortable, clean, and well made but could use some better pillows. On check out day we were slow moving and asked for a late check out. They happily allowed us an extra hour! The property is close to a shopping center. We made a trip to dollar tree for some coloring supplies and that kept my grandson super calm when we needed to be. Theres a walkable convenience store, and easy to get jets pizza delivery. That was really good pizza btw.

Free breakfast was just ok. I didn't care for the toilet not flushing and after waiting for over an hour my husband had to go to the front desk and get a plunger. Staff said someone knocked on our door but we were there the whole time and heard nothing. The remote didn't work correctly and only 30 channels to chose from. I feel I could have received the same accommodations at Super 8 for a MUCH lesser price. Will not return to this property.

It was close to where I had to go. This is the first time in 30 years I have needed a place to stay. The real breakfast was a very nice thing would definitely stay again if needed

Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast options in morning. Just a very quick drive down the hill to the beach and downtown Petoskey. Didn’t wake up with a backache, which is good. Big tv. Good size fridge and microwave in room nice hot shower. Pool was nice after a VERY hot day. Decent price

Nice variety for breakfast. Coffee was good, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, waffles, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit was good as well. Would stay there again, if visiting in the area.
