Nice beds and enjoyed the pool. Good value for the $.

Our check-in was delayed despite that we had called and noted we would be there early. Outside of that the pool was fun even if it was a little chilly. The hot tub was delightful. Our room was clean and fit the six of us very nicely! Everyone was very polite and kind. Breakfast had a good variety of options too!

A million dollar view of the Bay from the room's balcony and the breakfast was very good. However our elevator to the our room on the 4th floor was not working for most of our stay.

Like that we had a balcony with a view. Room was large and clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast options were good. Pool was good. Hot tub was too hot. Ice machine was broken.

I like the staff is always nice. They have a shuttle/limo service to go anywhere close.

Little out of date, only stayed for one night so wasn’t bad but could definitely use some updating. Building felt a little unstable, you could almost feel whenever the elevator was moving it would shake the whole room . Clean looking pool but hot tub was pretty green . Not bad for the price and what was available. Breakfast was very good!

What we liked: room was clean, staff were friendly, internet worked without a problem, pool was nice, check in/out was good. The shower felt like a power washer. No weird hidden fees. Good for the cost. Dislikes: breakfast was not great, even the cereal was stale. The room they use for the breakfast could comfortably accommodate maybe 6 or 7 people, but it's set up for quite a few more and its just crowded. Tub drain was clogged. Still using the disposable shampoos and soaps instead of the more eco options.

Excellent hotel. Loved the hot tub and pool. Good breakfast. Balcony was a nice touch. Great beds! Coffee and homemade cookies each night. Apples, oranges, and water out all day for you. A limo to take you around town!

Loved the limo service ride and was such a great fun experience to take our granddaughter on for ice cream...only thing that could have been better is if pool was warmer

Excellent hot breakfast. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Great value! Pool was dim and a bit dirty was my only complaint. Excellent front desk staff.

We have stayed at this property several times over the years and the staff has always been helpful and attentive. The location is fabulous and our room was clean. However, the property is badly in need of updating and refurbishing. Carpets are very stained and dirty in rooms but especially in the hallways and elevators.

We have stayed here many times over the years. I was so disgusted at the filthiness of the carpet in the room. There were three large areas that were stained with something, one was red - not sure if it was paint or blood. The common hall windows - nearly everyone had cobwebs in them.

Needs cleaned & painted bathrooms.

Clean and very friendly staff

This used to be our “go-to” hotel for years. The place from the outside looks so quaint & cute with a balcony in every room overlooking the water. Our last stay was on Jan 14, 2024 when I brought my daughter for a one night stay to visit either family in the area. The hot tub by the pool had very dirty looking water in it. I hesitated going in it but others were in it so we did too. After a short time my daughter & I decided to get out because we just didn’t feel we were in clean water. We both had to take showers after we got back to our room. This hotel is very outdated with hallway carpet that is thread bare & needs replacing. The room carpet seemed to be fine but the bathrooms are outdated, too. The bathtub had been recoated but you can tell it was done years ago because the bathtub had the appearance of not being clean. I was going to call the front desk about it but when I felt the tub I realized the dirty looking areas were actually not dirt…just a poor job of recoating. The breakfast area was clean & had good selections. The staff was friendly. The location is close to everything in Petoskey. It just really needs a good updating & has been this way for years. We’ve since decided to stay elsewhere because I don’t like the feeling of “dirty” from the visual aspect …even though I’m sure it was cleaned.

Our room carpet was dirty had spots and spills from previous guest needs to be deep cleaned. Staff is very nice it's not worth what they charge for a room

Very clean quiet hotel that exceeded my expectations

The bed was uncomfortable and the shower tiny. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. In my opinion it was expensive for the facilities available to us. The free breakfast was terrible! The pool was uninviting and small. For the price this was a complete disappointment. I recommend you stay somewhere else if you’re in town.

Staff was very pleasant and efficient. Although I had reserved a handicapped accessible room, that is not what we were given. It was immediately next to them. They did bring a shower chair when requested and the room worked out ok. However since I had called last week and re-confirmed I would be in one with Joey at reception, the request was not completed. The breakfast was typical, nothing special. Tasted like powdered scrambled eggs, but they did have hard boiled too. The balcony was the most pleasant surprise and we enjoyed it tremendously. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The refrigerator was a nice size. The room was quiet and on the main 2nd floor not far from the pool and yet no noise. The hallway was dated and not well air conditioned, but not a big issue. The location was very convenient to everything and great parking. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

This was a very uncomfortable stay, especially for the price. The balcony has ridiculously bright lights on all night that can’t be turned off, and the curtains aren’t large enough to keep the room dark. Staff just said they knew and there was nothing they could do. The thermostat didn’t work in the heater, so the first night was sweltering. Second night we realized we had to crank it below 60 degrees to get the actual temperature below 70. Soundproofing is poor, so it was also fairly loud (we had the room next to the elevator). The bathroom was so small we could barely fit around the door to get to the shower. The bed was comfortable, and shower was hot, at least.

The bathroom tub drain was slow. The handle you pull up to start the shower, didn’t pull up enough so most of the water went out the faucet which made the water out the shower head weak. The shower curtain was ripped. Desk clerks were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Average hotel. One big reason giving lower scores as the shower pressure is absolutely horrible and thus also the bathtub was filthy and painted over. Felt dirty .

Our room had a balcony and a view of the water. Nice place to relax after a day out. Size of room was nice with a sofa and desk for seating other than the bed. Room just starting to look a little tired bt was very clean.

I have stayed here before a couple years ago and like it and figured to try again. This time it had its pros and cons. We had the 3 queen bedroom. The beds were good, spacious rooms, and had a patio looking the bay. The cons were horrible water pressure in the shower and inconsistent hot/cold temps. The sub floor next to the toilet was about to give way. I stepped back in the area and felt no stable ground. The ice machine kept breaking. The breakfast was good but the same thing day after day. The pool is clean but the hot tub was too hot and pool was too cold. Also we arrived at 5pm and the room was not ready yet! We had to wait for the house keeping to get there and clean it. The wifi didn't work the first night there but worked well afterwards. I could go on and on. But I think I made the main points.

The front desk staff lady was amazing and went above and beyond!

Hotel very outdated elevator did not work correctly. The afternoon staff was horrible. The okder women at the feont seak needa a job that can make her happy. She is not plesant.

We just live in the UP but this is one of our favorite places because of the amazing hot tub. So we went to get in and it was cold! I was sad. I called the front desk and spoke to Chris. I told her how the hot tub was our whole purpose for staying. She ended up putting us in a Jacuzzi room with no up charge. This made our whole evening and Chris is amazing!!

Ladies at the front desk very pleasant and helpful. Close to everything we wanted. Yes older but clean. Breakfast was an additional plus, ladies working there again very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Only big thing was door difficult to shut staff left it open after cleaning while I was away luckily everything was inplace when I returned

The young man at the desk Saturday night 4:30pmish was super personable and a great conversationalist. Complimentary limo service really made our stay stand out from every other hotel we stay at and made a huge improvement to our night. We will be back next time we stay in Petoskey.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Apple Tree Inn! The staff were all so kind and helpful in every way. We had a "lake effect" snow event during our stay. It was so nice to find that our car had the windows all cleared of snow in the morning! I heard it was one of the Maintenance people on staff that did the work. We sure appreciated that! The rooms were comfortable and breakfast had just the right foods to start our day. We will definitely stay again.

The room was very nice, and it was cleaned for us between each night- which was marvelous! The front desk staff was very kind and courteous, as well- even going out of their way to assist us. I will be staying again!!

The property is in convenient location, close to everything. Easy check-in and friendly guest services. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This is our hotel of choice when traveling to Petoskey!

We loved it. The beds were comfortable the town was so cute and close to things we were doing. Food in the area was so yummy. The view of the bay was amazing. We will be staying here again.

Breakfast had a good selection, the room was clean but the carpet looked old but no dirt on my white socks. The price is great for the value. The room was quiet the A/C unit was quiet and the hot water was hot. Had more the usual gym equipment that you find in a hotel. So I would definitely go back there and recommended it to my friends. Great location to town and a great value

Good value and great location. Friendly staff. Very comfortable beds. Clean room except there were a couple stains on the carpet. We had a bay view room and I would highly recommend booking a bay view room.

Checkin was fast a pleasant. Our room was very clean and nice. Every area that we say was very clean and tidey. Seating for breakfest was clean and well laid out. Lots of choices for breakfest as well. Would definitly recomend to stay here. Also very close to all shoping as well as downtown.

The breakfasts are phenomenal, served honeycrisp apples when we stayed and had very nice food besides, the pool and lobby area are charming and well kept. Receptionist and other staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean, and relaxing. Only complaint was the bed could be a bit softer! Would definitely recommend the Apple Tree Inn for stays in Petoskey.

Stayed before.Tiny Bkft area!!! The coffee service could be in lobby from 6-9..Very few tables for lg. hotel.They expect people to ( go elsewhere)., rarely does this happen. Never any bread for toast!! BUT Still we will return.LOL

The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is delicious. It's a little dated, shower was rusty, and cracks around tub. But for the price is was a nice stay.

Breakfast needs to be improved terrible coffee

We have stayed here twice in 2024. Only negative remark - poor quality for breakfast. Nasty Instant Coffee! Need more healthy choices like whole wheat bread/bagels. The hard boil eggs (both trips) has a "strange texture and taste". Not sure if they are even real!
