I came here back in 2023 staffing was very nice everything went well. Went again last week and i was disappointed the guy who exchanges the pool towels was very rude, he kept having attitude and responding like if i was stupid. Never was i rude to him in Spanish. I’m not sure if he was bothered because i was talking to my family in English Also sucks that you have to always carry the reusable cup that they give you everywhere if you want to drink. If you have breakfast, lunch or dinner you must bring the cup with you if not they won’t serve you something to drink.

What can I say? Food was horrible all the way around between three restaurants and a snack bar. Rooms were filthy and the bathroom had mold crawling up the walls. There was no one tending the beach or pool areas so there was trash everywhere. Game room was a joke. I wouldn't pay more than $60-80 a night. Basically you're paying for a room. It was ridiculous to have to walk around with a cup to get served for beverages. Sort of like prison. No cup no service

This resort was super family friendly. It was very private and I enjoyed having a peaceful vacation with our adult children. The beach was not packed and there was always a place to lay in the sun or shade. we especially liked the rooftop garden pool and bar.

Old building very tired and double beds too small. Food choices limited and food was medicore. Cheap liquor with minimal choices and no good. Beer was good. Construction on pool while there but was not informed. Pools too small. Staff were friendly and good to deal with. No nightly entertainment. Won't be back. Stayed 1 week late Feb 2024.

The beach is absolutely massive and lovely. There are plenty of palapas and beach chairs. The food is good. We were there for 2 weeks, so then it got a bit repetitive, but if you are there for a few days or a week, it is very good. When we stayed there, there were a lot of local people, and the staff does not speak much English. But they were extremely pleasant and professional. Especially Leo, the bartender. A quiet man that just goes out of his way to be helpful and kind. The only negative comment I have is that the music is ridiculously loud. The resort is not huge, so there is no place to hide from the music. Even if you go to your room, it blasts through the entire building. The music choice is good...both Mexican and North American songs...new and old. It's just the volume. We asked them to turn it down, and they did, but in a few minutes it was right back up there. Extremely hard to have a conversation with friends, when the music is that loud.

Some reception personnel was unapproachable, in the main tower, they would not acknowledged me untill I made contact. The key cards kept unactivating, at one point our card was activated for a different room. The pools closed at an earlier schedule than on the websites. Other than that it was good.

This property has very little to do except sit at the beach or pool (which is great if that is your preferred activity). Pools are small with limited seating. No night activities. Food was mediocre at best. Unfortunately there are not many restaurant choices. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There are paid restaurants within walking distance. The beach is clean with good seating options. The water has a lot of waves and not great for families with small children. No drink service or swim up bars

They had amazing staff but once we arrived to the room the door handle broke off. Also the showers had hair from the previous people that stayed in the room. The hallways that lead to our room were very humid and the whole inside building was just hot in general. I wouldn’t recommend.

This is one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at. Staff worked non stop to make sure it looked good. I liked that it is not a huge hotel. To walk from your room to the pools, beach, or the restaurants does not take 20 minutes. Our room to the beach was probably four minutes. The ocean, however, is about a block away. You can see the ocean, feel the breeze off it, but it takes a bit of walking to get to it. In the photos of the hotel, the ocean looks close, but it isn't. The food was always hot and fresh. The bars do not water down drinks. Fantastic! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We do not speak Spanish and we found out very quickly who spoke English and who didn't. A translating app is needed if you need to talk to staff and you don't know Spanish. Around the hotel, we felt safe walking. Unfortunately, there isn't much to do in the area. The hotel is surrounded by condos and if you want to go anywhere you will be taking a taxi. A round trip taxi will be $25.00 Canadian minimum. We went to the Malecon boardwalk and it was $60.00 round trip. We went over Easter, and there were lots of families there with their kids of all ages. Lots of families having fun in the pools. Keep that in mind if you are wanting a quieter holiday. Beach vendors did come by of course, but if you said no thank you, they didn't keep bothering you. The hotel is close to the airport which is one of the reasons we booked it.

Our room smelled like toilet, the smell was persistent the entire time coming from the bathroom. The shower curtain had mold on it, the shower didn’t drain. The pillows were awful. Some of the food was disgusting. Suspicious looking pork skin, frozen pizza, instant diluted coffee. All just gross.

Hotel is very dated. Our patio door would not close, sink would take 20 minutes to drain, shower lever would not stay open had to hold it on. Very noisy hotel as there are vents in the room that transfer all kinds of noise. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend

We arrived around 8pm due to the time we landed. Our room was not like in the pictures. We had two double beds instead of a king. They offered us a room with King bed but the room was small, as well as, the bathtub and shower were small, gross and outdated. The shower sprayed everywhere. So we ended up looking at a few other rooms before going back to our original room which had very firm double bed mattresses. The staff were very nice and as accommodating as could be. Unfortunately everything was closed when we went to get food. We did find an incredible Italian restaurant called Portobello that offered to feed us what they could and gave us drinks and a bottle of wine to take back to our room with us. They saved our first night in Mexico. 8 stars to the staff at Portobello

Room was fantastic for space. Beds are only doubles so my 6’4 husband was uncomfortable but we knew that going in. No way to lock balcony door so having a toddler in the room made this fun. Staff was very accommodating and friendly though not many actually spoke English. Google translate was my friend. Pools in building 1-3 are very cold. Pools in building 4 were very nice but the bar wasn’t open as long. Construction going on in the hotel right below our balcony, staff was exceptional with moving us rooms. Food options are minimal. Snack bar and 2 buffet restaurants that operated at different times so usually only had 1 restaurant option. Hot water was barely warm. Beach was huge and always beach chairs available and clean. There was birds all over. In the restaurants on the tables/chairs/ buffet counters. Staff was good about shooing them away but I’m sure it was very hard to keep sanitary

Went again last week and i was disappointed the guy who exchanges the pool towels was very rude, he kept having attitude and responding like if i was stupid. Never was i rude to him in Spanish. I’m not sure if he was bothered because i was talking to my family in English Also sucks that you have to always carry the reusable cup that they give you everywhere if you want to drink. If you have breakfast, lunch or dinner you must bring the cup with you if not they won’t serve you something to drink.

I had booked and paid for a quad room with a view for my sons graduation celebration. There was a total of 6 people with us with 3 rooms booked. When we got there, they told me that I had the very basic standard room with no view. My husband showed them the expedia confirmation with the room I booked. They still denied it and forced us to pay an extra $4200 pesos for the room I had already paid for. I getbthat its off season and you need to make money, but I had proof of what I paid for and they refuse to refund me. Expedia also tried to get my refund with thier proof of what I booked. The staff was nice though in general and the housekeepers were excellent about keeping the rooms clean, which was the best part of the stay. The food wasnt good and I'm pretty sure the alcohol had somethig wrong with it because it tasted like chemicals. We also saw a lot of roaches on the lower floors. Which I get because its where it is, but they smashed ones stayed on the lobby floors for hours. I'll never stay there again. They also said they had activities like kayaks and wave boards etc... we never saw any of those or saw anyone else use them. Not sure they existed. The pool was also shut down for the 1st day because someone deficated in it. So, we never got in it obviously.

Our stay was wonderful! Beautiful location!! The staff (housekeeping, front desk, bartenders, waitstaff, EVERYONE) were amazing and always very helpful. Very pleasant experience and will definitely recommend and stay here again.

Spent 10 days at the resort with two friends. We were 100 percent satisfied with the resort. The staff was very accommodating to our needs. The food was good home style dining. Lots of choices at each meal. This is a family friendly resort so it was fun to watch local families enjoying the facilities. The beach was fabulous and there were plenty of chairs , longes at the beach front. Transportation is at the front of the resort. Can’t complain about anyone or anything. Been coming to PV for the last 20 years usually twice a year to various resorts. It all depends how much you want to spend and the location. Varadera is good value for your money.

This is one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at. Staff worked non stop to make sure it looked good. I liked that it is not a huge hotel. To walk from your room to the pools, beach, or the restaurants does not take 20 minutes. Our room to the beach was probably four minutes. The ocean, however, is about a block away. You can see the ocean, feel the breeze off it, but it takes a bit of walking to get to it. In the photos of the hotel, the ocean looks close, but it isn't. The food was always hot and fresh. The bars do not water down drinks. Fantastic! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We do not speak Spanish and we found out very quickly who spoke English and who didn't. A translating app is needed if you need to talk to staff and you don't know Spanish. Around the hotel, we felt safe walking. Unfortunately, there isn't much to do in the area. Some reception personnel was unapproachable, in the main tower, they would not acknowledged me untill I made contact. The key cards kept unactivating, at one point our card was activated for a different room. The pools closed at an earlier schedule than on the websites. Other than that it was good.

Room was fantastic for space. Beds are only doubles so my 6’4 husband was uncomfortable but we knew that going in. No way to lock balcony door so having a toddler in the room made this fun. Staff was very accommodating and friendly though not many actually spoke English. Google translate was my friend. Pools in building 1-3 are very cold. Pools in building 4 were very nice but the bar wasn’t open as long. Construction going on in the hotel right below our balcony, staff was exceptional with moving us rooms. Food options are minimal. Snack bar and 2 buffet restaurants that operated at different times so usually only had 1 restaurant option. Hot water was barely warm. Beach was huge and always beach chairs available and clean. The location is excellent, bar service is good at the pool, very limited choice of drinks. Food is good enough to get by but far from excellent. The building is dated, ac in bedroom didn’t work, toilet plugged the first two days, lights are poor, only one plug in in the bedroom, cockroach’s in our sink and under fridge, key cards quit several times. I would probably look for another place rather than stay there again.

The beach is absolutely massive and lovely. There are plenty of palapas and beach chairs. The food is good. We were there for 2 weeks, so then it got a bit repetitive, but if you are there for a few days or a week, it is very good. When we stayed there, there were a lot of local people, and the staff does not speak much English. But they were extremely pleasant and professional. Especially Leo, the bartender. A quiet man that just goes out of his way to be helpful and kind. The only negative comment I have is that the music is ridiculously loud. The resort is not huge, so there is no place to hide from the music. Even if you go to your room, it blasts through the entire building. The music choice is good...both Mexican and North American songs...new and old. It's just the volume. We asked them to turn it down, and they did, but in a few minutes it was right back up there. Extremely hard to have a conversation with friends, when the music is that loud.

This is a nice place for Mexican families. The pools are for children and the food is fine. The beach is fabulous! The staff wore masks, however below their nose or on their chin. The buffet was open so everyone handled utensils themselves which did not seem sanitary. The bars also did not feel sanitary and the drinks were not great. The location is great though and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. There are many excellent restaurants nearby and the marina is just steps away.

We had the free breakfast buffet option, which is fantastic if you love Mexican food as I do. Otherwise the endless fruit, omlettes, pancakes, cereal and yoghurt should satisfy. It is a "Mexican" hotel so a little noisy. Tower 4 is newer, but across from the beach. The rooftop has a great view. Staff are very helpful and courteous. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Great sand beach; we walked the beach every day. We enjoyed our stay very much.

I would not reccomend this "resort". The rooms were moldy and uncomfortable. The food was the worst part though. It was not good and we ended up leaving the resort to eat meals. At one point they served me raw meat and when i brought it to their attention they did not care nd kept serving it to other guests. So after that we were wary to eat the food aside from it being really gross anyway. The people that worked at the resort were so nice though and the location is awesome.

The only short fall I would say very limited seafood and would have been nice to have 2nd al l a carte evenings even at a small charge for the 2nd evening… as a couple with no children, another quiet al a carte evening would’ve been appreciated

Underground parking available. Very nice rooftop pool with adjacent bar I didn’t see mentioned in reviews. Great for families. Huge sandy, smooth, well-groomed beach. Very gradual and shallow slope, no weeds or rocks. Room was clean, staff very friendly. Food selection could be improved somewhat, but was still good. Great hamburger snack area right on the beach. Not crazy about the plastic reusable cups for drinks. Very quiet at night. True that lots of the patrons were Mexicans…not a problem at all. Everyone was very friendly and respectful. Lots of kids with parents and extended family. Would go back again. Thank you!

Hotel needs to get with the times with the brackets and get rid of the room keycards. Had to have them rescanned probably daily. No adults only pools. Kind of a lack of security. Beach furniture needs replaced and updated. Make sure if you want all inclusive to pay before you get there. We missed the button and found out when we got there didn’t have all inclusive asked to upgrade and it would have cost us 1k American extra. For a budget friendly place it was adequate.
Rooms were clean. Beds are rock hard no exaggeration. The fridges will keep you foods either frozen or Luke cool. Staff are decent. I thought the food was actually pretty good. Very small pools, mainly for kids. But there was a rooftop pool that was small but nice. No where to get coffee before restaurants opened. Walked to OXXO & waited until 7am for it to open & got coffee. Rooms were nice & big.
