The Expedia listing should have highlighted the parking costs and situation in downtown portland. 55 dollars a night to park is obscene. Between the parking fees, 'guest amenity fee', and various taxes the total cost is nearly twice the listed room price.

Hotel Lucia was very disappointing. It started with a mixup at check-in, the hotel claimed to not have my reservation despite having sent a confirmation email an hour or so before check-in. After getting that resolved, I was disappointed to find that the rooms were not as well kept as the photos online depict. There was also a guest smoking on our floor.

I arrived late in the evening, around 8 pm on 17th Nov. Despite being the only guest to check-in at that time, the Valet left my key lying around and attached my tag to somebody else's key! And this level of casual service after charging $55 for parking! This additional rate should have been mentioned during booking, but it was deceptively left out. I was asked to give 10-15 mins to bring out my car. Even the wrong car wasn't brought out after I checked out. That was when the mixup was detected. Although the Valet on duty early morning was prompt to get my car out, it would have been an expensive delay had I been even a bit late for my checkout. The coffee maker in the room didn't work. The bedsheets didn't seem to be fresh. Eco-friendly does not mean 'sharing bedsheets between different Guests'. That's unacceptable.

My room didn’t seem to be vacuumed well before I checked in as there were white debris on the carpet. That made me worry about the cleanliness of my bed as the bed sheet was wrinkled. I do love the color and decor of this hotel. I have stayed one previous time and that was far more outstanding than this stay. Maybe because I booked through a service instead of the hotel. My room was smaller than I anticipated. My refrigerator didn’t work and I didn’t notice until I arrived back to the room after work the following day and all of my door dash leftovers were spoiled. The front desk comped me $30 for amenities and had maintenance fix it. I didn’t notice there was a full length mirror behind the bathroom door so I went out and bought one. Then noticed the mirror attached to the bathroom door. So that was my own oversight. The water took a while to heat but once it was heated it was nice. The nespresso didn’t work and I tried it in 3 different outlets, I finally got it working. Location was convenient to get out and walk around on foot to various places. I walked about for nearly 4 hours. Concierge Phillip was amazing and helped me with my massive amount of luggage and getting my car in and out of valet.

One of my favorite experiences with a hotel property and its staff. Everyone was increasingly friendly and accommodating. There’s a great social happy hour attended by other hotel guests where the staff provides you a free alcoholic drink. I can’t recommend the place enough and will certainly be staying again whenever I’m back in Portland.

The staff were excellent and the common areas were fresh and fun. We intentionally ordered the least expensive room for a quick trip, and while the anticipated small size wasn't a problem, per se, the fan blew directly onto the bed as a result, and was too strong even on low. Staff immediately brought us a stand up fan, and offered to look for a room in a different configuration. The bed and pillows were comfortable but the queen was a full. Again, quick trip, low price, no complaints. The soaps and lotions were lovely, and it was nice to have hot coffee downstairs every morning. We never made it to the craft beer hour but next time! Will return and go up a class or two in the room.

Love the property, I've stayed there a couple times before. My only problem with this visit, was checking out I told the front desk lady that I drank one of the in room $7,00 bottles of water and to deduct it from my $20.00 VIP credit. She said ok I'll apply the remaining credit to your bill, which she didn't. As I was walking out I tried to grab a coffee from the lobby, there were no coffee cups. I went back up to the front desk, to let her know they were out of cups, and asked can you get one, She went to the back, thinking that she is get more cups for the coffee bar when she comes back to the front desk she talked to two coworkers then went back behind the front desk, and didn't even acknowledge or tell me that she couldn't find or have more cups. She just left me hanging there, frustrated, I just walked out.

I have stayed in more hotels than I can count. The service from the two late night gentlemen is above and beyond the best service we have ever received. They were both incredibly kind and accommodating. We will always stay at Hotel Lucia when in Portland solely based on their service and hospitality. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and comfortable during our short trip. We can’t wait to return!

The hotel was fine. Minimally staffed. I didn’t know daily housekeeping was not included and would have liked that information going in. Bathrooms are very outdated… shower head at 5 feet or so. Coffee in lobby is cheap with little creamer pods.

We had originally booked a room at another hotel in the Pearl District, but after reading reviews that talked about the noise and feeling of unsafety due the large population of homeless people in that area, we decided to book at the Lucia. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it is not only a beautifully stylish heritage property, but that it was also refreshingly quiet and well appointed. Arriving to a gorgeous room with a great local jazz station playing on the radio was a warm welcome. The concierge was very helpful and friendly, and the vintage video game and pinball machines were a nice touch. The only thing we felt would make it better is if they had a bar in their beautiful, art-filled lounge areas. If you're looking for a night cap (as we were after our concert), the hotel two doors down has a nice enough bar.

My issue here is less with the hotel and more with misleading advertising on Orbitz part. A VIP benefit offering $20 off for food and/or beverage in a hotel that does not have a restaurant or bar is not particularly beneficial. Further it leads to inflated expectations. I had assumed we could eat at the hotel. Not only not possible but the Portland downtown neighborhood was unfortunately close to several homeless areas. Walking around at night was not comfortable. Again, that's the city of Portland's responsibility not the hotel's but I relied on Orbitz implied information to my detriment.

A lovely little boutique hotel with clean rooms. The gym was convenient and the lobby and afternoon happy hour were great. We were also able to borrow bicycles which was a very fun way to get around. The aCade games were also a bonus. Only downside was the free coffee didn’t have any non-dairy options. Overall a very pleasant stay.

This was my 2nd stay in 5 years. Convenient location. Comfortable room. Nice staff. Free Happy Hour drink at the front desk daily at 5pm (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options). Free games (2 pinball and one video game) in a room below the lobby. The lobby has several comfy and spacious seating areas. One thing that made me sad was the pizza shop connected to the lobby is gone (we loved the food and convenience on our last trip) and a new food vendor is currently under construction (June 2025). I also forgot how much I didn't like the bathrooms in the hotel room itself. They work perfectly fine and the shower has solid water pressure but it just doesn't have a very practical set up. There's just one hook on the back of the door and it has the hotel's hair dryer hanging from it. There's nowhere to put your things down. The toilet paper was behind us when using the toilet despite there being an empty wall in front of it. Inside the shower were 2 bottles of shower gel and one bottle of hair conditioner....odd! Next to the sink was a lotion pump which was initially mistaken by both of us as soap. Meanwhile the soap was a tiny bar. I just think the bathroom set up could use a re-think and teh round, glass and metal sink is not a fan favorite. I'd stay here again and I'd recommend them in general, but just know it's an overall 4 and not a 5.

Made the mistake of booking downtown thinking it would be convenient for going out to eat. I was advised not to walk out in the area, to either drive or take an uber to a restaurant. Hotel is looking and feeling tired. However the room was clean and quiet. No easy place for breakfast nearby.

A nice hotel in a good location. The little extras like the free pinball machines in the basement and the complimentary beer/cider hour in the evenings were nice ( though for a 'resort fee' of $33 a day, they're not exactly free....) The hotel was let down by not having any breakfast or dining options onsite and the bathrooms had metal sinks, which felt a bit more like a prison than a stylish bathroom

Love this place. Friendly staff, free happy hour craft ale. Room was small but perfectly laid out and cosy and I found working for up to 5 hours at a time very compfortnable (as it was a work trip and I had a lot to catch up on between meetings). Love the free pinball tables downstairs for a bit of a break and the location is great. No breakfast but there are so many good cafes nearby it was fine.

Hotel Lucia is a two star property masquerading as a 4 star hotel. There is no restaurant. There is no room service--save delivery from a nearby Italian joint . There is no mini-bar. Your room will not be made up unless you make a special request. They won\'t tell you this until you complain about your room not being made up, and then it is somehow your fault that you didn\'t ask for what you would normally expect. The prices are a scam--the low price advertised on Expedia does not include the $58 "resort fee". There is no resort, just the absurd fee. Parking is $55/night. There is a parking lot directly across the street for about half that. The house computer system is weak, and completely crashed when we were there, killing both the wifi and the telephone system. There was no comment, no apology, no amends for the cost of the game we were playing which crashed. The bathtubs have no safety mats, and there is no non-slip coating. Taking a shower is a life threatening affair. Water pressure sucks and the spray is inadequate. The towels were decent. Hotel Lucia offers a "free drink" in the lobby from 5 to 6. Free if you want a soft drink or a beer. A *can* of dreadful white wine was $8. Basically, Hotel Lucia is a Motel 6 with nice photos on the walls.
