Courtyard by Marriott Wilmington Brandywine

Everything was good, with the exception of the pool not being available. It was the reason I chose this facility. I didn't know until I arrived that it was closed.

I didn’t Like how dirty the hotel was, that it was under construction. The room was small, yet had a lot of furniture for its small size It was cleaning the surface, but once you zoom in closer, I saw mold growing inside the sink

The pool closed at 8 PM. When you visit an area for events and go to dinnner 8 PM is about the time we artived back to the hotel.

One staff member was rude when we checked in, the rest were nice at least. I left my $200 Columbia coat either in the weight room or my room when I checked out, but the front desk said it was not returned to them, so someone stole it. I only chose this hotel for the indoor pool, but the indoor pool was closed. It was disclosed on their website (I discovered after check-in), but not Expedia when I was booking it. I paid a lot MORE to have the indoor pool amenity than I would have paid for a hotel in the city without a pool. The rude staff member when I checked in never offered an explanation or apology for the closure when I explained to her I that I booked this hotel for the indoor pool. Additionally, a local told me the pool had been closed for months for renovation, but upon observation of the room there was no renovation taking place. I will NEVER stay at a Courtyard Marriott ever again. And oh yeah, no free breakfast, they were charging $2 for a banana! And oh yeah, the washers and dryers were apparently broken, not sure if Expedia is claiming that is an amenity, but they are not available just so you know.

I had booked 2 kings rooms and instead received two rooms with 2 queen beds each. It was awkward, as the rooms were occupied by my husband and I in one room, and my mother-in-law in the other. Also, if there is any price difference between a king room versus a double-occupancy room, this was not disclosed to us. I am concerned we received lesser value rooms for the money we paid. Also, the front desk informed us that our booking was made "the day before" according to our reservation. However, the rooms were booked about a week ahead of time. there should have been no need for us to be squeezed into rooms other than the types that we booked. The pool area was dirty and the hot tub was lukewarm at best. Bathroom walls were slimy. The drain apparatus in our room was dismantled and not put back together by maintenance staff prior to our stay. The hotel seems understaffed.

This hotel has definitely seen better days. The pictures used to advertise absolutely do not reflect the current condition of this hotel. The lobby is nice, but the rest of the hotel is worn. The indoor pool and hot tub were closed. We stayed 3 nights and never got a towel refresh or the beds made, despite the policy of everything other night. Luckily, I was only there to shower and sleep.

The hotel room was clean but the patio was not cleaned. The furniture was dirty covered in cobwebs. The hotel pool was not heated and the hot tub was out of service. We requested a pack n play for our 6 month old, which they did provide but it was very old and had lots of holes in the net. No sheets for the crib or pull out couch. Everything else was great and the customer service was top notch.

The hot tube was not in working condition. Pool was very cold! The front desk personal, Cristina, did his best efforts to find a way to turn on the heater in the pool, so we are grateful for their help. The room floor and tube were not the cleanest. No complimentary coffee in the morning except for the cheap coffee makers in the room. Quite disappointing when considering the price.

Pool and hot tub was closed and that was the whole reason I booked my stay

The pool was out of order and site didn’t say it was. Laundromat was out of service and wasn’t posted on site either .. they didn’t have clean towels and when i said something to manager he didn’t care .

My room was ready when I arrive, it was clean and fresh smelling that is really important to me. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The entrance elevator and halls were not clean, needs updating.

The stay was good in a quiet safe area. The issues I experienced were that there were black skid-like marks on the sheets of one bed, and on check out I was waiting for a receipt, but the staff member was on a call and unable to produce a receipt at the time. After waiting a while, I finally asked for it to be sent via email and I have yet to receive a receipt, but I have received several surveys.

booked this hotel for pool, and it was closed. piles of dirt in elevator, carpet looks like had not been cleaned in a long time, no trash bags in room trash cans, only 1 coffee in the room, only 3 towel sets, did not have enough for the 4 of us, and did not have any more towels at desk. did not like how there was no complimentary breakfast either. couod not bath as the tub stopper was broken.

While the hotel is renovating rooms and floors one at a time, they are still putting guests in old rooms at the same rate ($$ per night). Our room was one of the old ones, and so dirty. Missing its full length mirror (only the rod and nails in the wall remained), cracking paint and stains on the walls, stains on the carpet, flickering dingy lighting. Just dirty. My mother and father in law stayed in a renovated room and had a good experience. I am glad they got one of the new rooms. I was terribly disappointed with my experience in the old, dingy, unkept room, at the same $$ rate as the renovated room, and would never stay at this hotel again if I didn't know one day the room I stayed in would be renovated (and hopefully actually cleaned properly.)

One of my favorite hotels i been too ,The room was clean and nice and smelled fresh the room was a nice size and spacious, Really enjoyed my stay and it was quiet as well,Definitely will be coming back again if the price is right ,Love the 12pm checkout as well unlike other hotels that are 11am ,Thanks looking forward coming back 👍

The rooms at the hotel are being renovated. We have an old shabby room on the first floor and we’re not given one of the refurbished rooms. My daughter and cousins who booked directed with Marriott are in new rooms. It’s a disadvantage to book through Expedia.

The air conditioning was broken. And the food there was pre cooked could have had a better food selection. But the pool and hot tub was good. And the room was clean and comfortable. The customer service there was amazing and so was the tv as well.

The room was 50 degrees when we entered .Took at least 90.minutes to get to 70.

Renovation of the rooms is superb, and Chris was extraordinarily welcoming and helpful.

It was just “ok”. The room was out dated and felt old. I don’t think it was dirty but it didn’t give us the clean feeling. It was fine but I won’t stay there again. Too many new properties close to it

No USB, bed was facing the window/parking lot. TV too low and small. No creamer or sugar for the coffee. No free breakfast.

My experience at this hotel was the worst experience I’ve ever had staying at a hotel to say the least. do I stay at the Courtyard Marriott and Brandywine Wilmington I had the worst encounter with the front desk employee Marsha. Marsha came up very very rude from the time that I came into the facility until the night that she left from her shift. on arrival for my stay during check-in I spoke with Marsha and explained to her that I was looking to have a room with the balcony which I already spoke with someone prior to arriving who told me that there was plenty balcony rooms available Marsha told me there was none. Further into my stay we noticed that there were a lot of kids in the hot tub so we weren’t able to enjoy it instead we decided to sit outside and relax on deck to get a little cool air and relax. At the time I wasn’t aware that the pool closed at 8 PM I was just waiting for the kids to leave so that I can use the pool. Once 8 PM came I noticed Marsha coming in to the pool area with an older white gentleman who I later got to know as Frank. at the time we didn’t go back inside we can we stayed outside until we were ready to go back to join Frank in the hot tub because now we were thinking the Jacuzzi stays open after 8 PM because Frank is indulging in a late night swim. We came inside Frank invited me and my friend to join him inside the Jacuzzi. before I can even step foot and Jacuzzi the door swings open and Marsha comes in yelling saying that we have to leave.

We always love courtyard Marriott, this one was a little disappointing because the front desk staff wasn't great...the front doors were locked when we arrived and there was no one to be found for almost an hour. We did arrive after 1am but every other Marriott hotel I've ever stayed at has had people manning the front desk 24 hrs.

The staff was pleasant, helpful and accommodating.

Staff at the register for breakfast was dismissive and rude.

TJ is a great employee. He checked us in and made us feel very welcome!

Delightful gal at check in, could not have been nicer. Do wish I had noticed when booking that breakfast is not included. Not a deal breaker, but we probably would have stayed somewhere where breakfast is included in the price. This hotel has a bistro and you can purchase breakfast. We will probably go out rather than pay here.

We had a problem with the heat in our room but the kind woman at the front desk checked it out and gave us a different room immediately. All was good after that. The hotel is clean but has a smell of new carpets. It’s on a strip mall highway, but a short drive to Brandywine attractions. Plenty of restaurants nearby. We went to the Mount Cuba Center, about 17 minutes away. Water was nice and hot.

We were satisfied with our stay. It was in a convenient location with many restaurants in walking distance. The amenities were adequate (on microwave), plumbing worked very well, unlike many similar hotels. Door to swimming pool would not open with key, always had to find an employee to open, most of the hot top jets did not work, but otherwise everything was great and I recommend this hotel. Very clean.

Nice place. Room was a good quality. Pleasant staff. Biggest complaint is no complimentary breakfast.
