The staff wasn't over attentive (lack of clean/dry towels in the pool area.) When towels were requested, it took several attempts requesting them before any were provided. When towels were brought in, they brought in about 8 towels, which were gone within minutes. For breakfast, the hot food for breakfast was replenished but the other self serve items were not (single serve type foods, cereals, hot cocoa packets, etc.) as well as the water and food in the lobby that is offered 24/7 was never refilled during our stay.

Every day was different for breakfast they rotate out the same 3 menu options. Rooms where clean and comfortable. The pool needs alot of upkeep and unfortunately due to other guests not behaving there was several nights kids couldnt swim. Parking was limited because of the outback steakhouse resturant is on the same lot.

The place needs a regal. Room carpet old and furniture. Stains and wear and tear. No shuttle service for airport until 7 am. It used to have that. That’s why we’d stay there every year.

Our room was clean and as one would expect for a hotel. The pool, both the main pool and the children's pool, were really cold. We warmed up in the spa after spending a short time in the pool as we could not feel our legs. Our 2.5 year old enjoyed going down the waterslide with an adult. We would have enjoyed spending more time in the pool if the water temperature was more bearable. There was a wide variety of breakfast options and the main hot course menu changes daily. They did have some dairy free options which was appreciated as someone in our party has a dairy allergy. The staff member(s) we encountered were all friendly and willing to help. Overall, however, we would probably stay somewhere else in the future as a good pool is important to us with little children. The other ammonites were not so superior that they outweighed the cold pool. If we didn't have children and didn't want to use the pool, we would defiantly be back. It's just not a risk we would be willing to take with all the other options in town.

I was not informed that the pool was closed when I booked the room. And when we checked in,, we were still not informed that the pool was closed, and did not find out until we went down to try to swim. And all we were told is that the General Manager said we could have 15% discount NEXT TIME we wanted to stay there, which is absolutely ridiculous. Will not be staying there again.

Our room was not fully clean. There was dirt and crud on the walls. Under the bed my 10 month old baby was grabbing earrings and cups and wrappers from previous guests. The front desk workers were unkind and rude. We had a nice stay but was not cleanest all. The big pool and kiddie pool were also really cold. And hot tub was yellow from lack of cleanliness.

This is the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Our bathroom had brown splatters all over the toilet and surrounding area, a strong smell of urine, orange grout, moldy tiles, thick black dust on the vent and baseboards, stained and dirty carpet with large visible crumbs, mirror smeared with chunks. Dirty towel hanging on the hook from previous guests. The breakfast bar has pendant lighting and the pendants were coated with thick dust. Hanging right at eye level over the food! The staff was professional and friendly – the only redeeming quality. The front desk worker especially was very nice. We felt so gross staying here and will not come back. They need to seriously reevaluate their cleaning practices!

Good stay but it could be cleaned better. Bathroom has pink mold in the grout needs to be cleaned. There are stains on the curtains and stains on the floor. Also lamp shades have stains. Amenities were good. The pool needs help. The hot tub was broken and the hot tub needs to be cleaned outside the perimeter. There was bandaids and pink mold as well.

Room was nice but we had many electric outlets non-functioning and the vent in the bathroom was spitting out black dust bunnies, seriously bad! 2 youngsters working the front desk ignored us to have it cleaned after I reported it. The 3rd employee felt bad and she reported the bad employees.. Housekeeping is only every 3 days and for 200 a night I don’t think that’s acceptable.. look for the best rate you can find! Even though we had some problems it’s a nice place But the price is way too high!!

The room my husband and I stayed in was spacious. Liked having a night-lite in the bathroom. The things that I did not like were: the vent in the bathroom was not working, carpets were filthy, stains on the linens. Any hospitality business should own a carpet-cleaning/shampooing machine to clean each room at least once a week, especially one that accepts pets. The carpets were despicable. Not very welcoming.

Nice rooms. Wifi is spotty. No HDTV. Some channels were just frozen and staff couldn't fix. But if those aren't important to you the place is safe and clean.

Everything was great except we were in 339 and there is a very annoying noise that is enough to drive you crazy. I think it might be a pipe or something that buzzes off and on but not much of a break in between. Wish we could’ve switched rooms.

Booked this motel because of the “water slide pool”! IT IS NOT OPERATIONAL!!! Plus, all wall outlets by lamps not working! (Couldn’t charge my phones, hearing aids, watch) Noisy wall A/C! Slightly disappointed compared to our last visit here!

Country Inn & Suites Duluth was… fine. The lobby looked nice, the pool existed, and check-in was quick — though I think I must’ve angered the desk clerk somehow because we were blessed with the reject room. My husband, 17-year-old daughter, and I got a two-queen room, but the bed my husband and I chose had a divot so massive I’m pretty sure it’s a leftover mining pit from the Iron Range. Every time we finally managed to fall asleep, we rolled into each other like mismatched bowling balls. If you’ve ever wanted a forced cuddle simulator, this is the mattress for you. The rest of the hotel? Totally decent. But that bed? Hands down, worst night’s sleep of my life — which really set me up nicely for the four-hour drive home the next morning. Nothing like white-knuckling it down the highway in a zombie state because your bed was basically a trapdoor to spooning hell. Next time I’ll just book a campsite — at least the ground is flat.

Our check-in was delayed by several hours due to the room not being ready. The person checking everyone in was doing her best in a very stressful situation. Once finally checked in, the room was not very clean. It appeared that there were only one or maybe two folks cleaning the rooms. We were not All staff appeared very stressed in general. I absolutely do not put any of the blame on the workers there for our experience, however, management should consider ways to increase staffing levels for a more enjoyable experience for their customers and staff.

Our stay was acceptable, a few things that need to be improved in my opinion are with the front desk staff and the pool area. Every time i went to the front desk there was no one there they were always in the back room. As soon as they finished with a guest they immediately went to the back room. The hot tub in the pool was anything but hot, it was barely warm. Our room was nice, but again the water temp could have been a little better. Also fans in the bathroom are needed.

Nicole at the front desk was over the top wonderful! She was so kind, professional, customer service oriented and outstanding. There were a lot Of people checking in and she helped everyone with not a long wait at all! I work for county government and I would recommend this place. Nicole needs a raise and bonus! Really good check-in process. Very friendly front desk staff (Payton), seamless transaction and some extra cookies. Property was clean but could use a couple updates. Rooms were what you would expect from a place that has a lot of guests with kids. Couple areas could use some deep cleaning in the rooms and some furniture updating but overall the room condition was good and quite spacious. Beds were comfy, water was hot and good basic amenities. Free breakfast was great and the pool area with small water slide was a blast for my 5 year olds and the 13 year olds were able to enjoy it too even though the pool was a little smaller. Having stayed at many a water park or hotel with water facilities this place was awesome. Overall had a really enjoyable stay. If you don’t mind some dusty corners or some water damage in the corners near the tubs (which my family could care less) then I think you’ll have a fun time here at an affordable price. Hot tub was down during our stay, which they told us about at check-in, had that been up and running it would have been icing on the cake! Definitely recommend and have already talked about staying in the future. Easy 10-12 minute drive to downtown Duluth.

I’ve stayed here before and this place is nice. However being short staffed meant we couldn’t check into our hotel until 6 PM. To me, this is unacceptable. I have two children aged 2&4 who were exhausted and cranky. Great staff and decent room but the fact that we won’t get a full refund is so disappointing.

We chose Country Inn & Suites because we can consistently get the same quality of comfort we have experienced throughout the years. This was a two day shopping trip for us in the Hermantown area of Duluth. It is close to all the stores we planned to visit. The hotel was quiet during our stay and not super busy. The room was very warm, which was nice to walk into and we just turned the heat down to our comfort level. We use the hot tub which was great and relaxing and not busy. I appreciated the towels in the pool area. Breakfast was heavy on carbs and sugars but quick for the morning. There could be a maintenance little touch up on the room - in the restroom especially. I'm always looking for cleaner carpets and this one was vacuumed but could use a good shampoo not only in the hallways, but in this room. I would stay again knowing what to expect.

They called me days before to let me know that the water slide was down for maintenance. They offered a full refund. We decided to stay anyway. The pool and hot tub were very nice. Friendly staff. Best Continental breakfast ever.

Couldn’t have breakfast due to the 7:00 breakfast time on the weekend. We were in Duluth for a race that we had to be at at 7am, breakfast should be at 6 . Also there was a strong smell of marijuana in the hallways.The front desk woman who checked us in was neither friendly or rude, just no smile, no energy, just blah. I would not stay here again.
