The hotel was very clean and updated. The 2 reasons we chose this hotel were because of the big breakfast and hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub was broken and we would have chosen a less expensive hotel had we been made aware of this.

Great place except pool was absolutely freezing!!!! Our young boys who can swim most anywhere couldn’t tolerate the frigid water so we were very disappointed as one of the perks for going to Duluth was going swimming at a hotel pool. Such was mot the case here.

We specifically booked the hotel for a hotel shuttle, and were told there is one. When we went to reserve a time to go on the shuttle we were told there isn’t one, that the other Holiday Inn had one. We had to find another form of transportation to the airport. We weren’t very pleased….

We moved here from another hotel, paying $75 more for one night, specifically for the hot tub. I asked At check in if there was indeed a hot tub and pool, they confirmed. Imagine my anger when we discovered the hot tub was drained.

Amazing experience. Super clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Great service. Breakfast was delicious. Pool was great. Only bummer was that the hot tub was out of service during our stay. Would definitely stay again. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. Plenty of parking. Not too far out from Canal Pakr tourist area or main highway to north shore.

Awesome outdoor patio. Good location. Quiet rooms. Rooms like new. The breakfast eggs were chewy and inedible. The rest of the selections were fine. There is a good pancake maker there.

Nice, clean hotel. It was 10 below during my stay, would have liked to know the hot tub had been broken for a few weeks prior to arriving. Hotel wouldn't do anything about that (just oop, we're sorry). Free breakfast is fine but would be nice to have some variety from day to day. Pool is small. Several of the machines broken in the gym. Clean, quiet, convenient to mall, shopping, restaurants.

Hotel property and room were clean. Pool was nice for our autumn family visit. My kids were asleep in one bed, and my son asleep in the second bed. I pulled back the sheets on my side of that bed to find a dark spot on the mattress pad. I pulled back the fitted sheet to find a disgusting bodily fluid stain on the mattress pad. Yuck! It was too late in the night to call the housekeeping, as my kids were all asleep. This kind of a blatant oversight is unacceptable. I had no choice but to take a towel from the bathroom to cover the area for a sliver of comfort at hat point in the night. This mattress pad should not have made it out of the laundry room, let alone on the bed of a future guest and their family! Gross.

Very clean and quiet hotel. Staff was super nice. One of the best hotels we stayed in while in Duluth. We stay in Duluth often and find the cleanliness of hotels has really gone downhill. This hotel was very clean and had extremely comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We reserved a suite, but it really wasn’t a “suite”. We ended up having to book a second room. We were able to get a room directly across the hall from our other room, but we were not anticipating having to pay double the cost. The breakfast was good for free hotel breakfast, and our only real complaint was the room situation.

We had wanted to stay at a place that had a hot tub and pool. We arrived to find out that the hot tub was down for repairs. When asked if there could be any discounts applied, the answer was no because i had booked through Expedia. We get to the room which was clean and looked nice. There was a loud buzzing type noise periodically throughout the night and next day. The 2nd night, there was a loud banging noise by the window, maybe outside? Was horrible, woke us up a couple of times. I doubt that my wife and i will be bach at this property.

This was a very nice hotel. The only issues that I had with it is 1) it was difficult to adjust the room temperature and 2) the front desk staff were not knowledgeable about the location of various locations in the city and also about road access issues. Do not assume people use GPS. Train your staff to be familiar with key/important locations in the area.

Customer service was spot on. I called earlier in the day to see about early check in. The room wasn’t available, the front desk called me back to let me know that housekeeping had it cleaned and ready to go as soon as they finished allowing us to check in earlier for nap time for the kids. My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Duluth, MN located at 4725 Market street. The staff on the first night did not have much hospitality, very rude and racist in my opinion. Our room was late being cleaned so we were unable to check in on time, that’s is completely fine. But the way it was communicated was unexpected like we did something wrong. We had been driving from the cities so we were exhausted and the lady at the front desk was pretty rude about it when I asked they could be accommodating to let us check out late since we didn’t get to check in on time. The the man she was working with kept staring at my family as if he never seen people of color before. My boyfriend the next day asked a different check in guy the same thing and he was very accommodating and let us check out at 1200 pm. My family and travel frequently and we will NOT be staying at another Holiday Inn Express and we don’t recommend it to people of color at all! The breakfast was really good and the rooms were really clean and nice but that’s all.

Another great stay at this hotel! Greeted at check-in by Meg, who was the most positive, welcoming person I've experienced at a check-in before. Loved the pool and hot-tub area, wide open hallways and rooms, and the grass to let the littles run around on outside. Will definitely stay again!

We were very pleased with the hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was even nicer than I expected. The only negative was the room service. They knocked on our door at 9:00 each morning. We were still in the room. The first morning they asked us if we needed any towels which they gave us. They never came back during the day while we were gone which was strange. The second day I asked them to come back in an hour (after we were leaving.) They came, but didn\'t straighten out the beds, or refill the toilet paper. Just emptied garbage cans and gave us new towels. If we came back to Duluth in the future, I would stay there again, and just put the "do not disturb" sign on the door overnight, and take it off once we left for the day.

It doesn't have the pretty lake views, but it's in a safe area with Target nearby for last-minute needs. It was a pretty quick drive to anything we wanted to see and the hotel was clean. The pool was a little bit small. The staff were very friendly.
