The Harraseeket Inn was a beautiful place to stay. I will return. It was quaint, with a drawing room and hours for morning coffee and afternoon tea. It is the kind of place where you can get drawn in to an unexpected but delightful conversation with another guest over a cup of coffee. There was a fire pit outside and the hotel provided the makings for s’mores.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The place felt cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was terrific!! Afternoon tea was great! The daily events were fun and appreciated. We were not able to use the pool due to renovations. This was a bummer for us and other guests.

Excellent location. 5 minute walk from downtown with great shopping and variety of restaurants although hotel has a nice bar and restaurant. Also has a salt water pool Afternoon has a tea time with delicious snacks. Room was well equipped and very comfortable.

I was shocked when I entered the lobby area. It all looks so tired and dirty. The rug in common areas have stains as did the rug in my guest room. I really don't understand how this place receives positive ratings.

I was very disappointed in the quality and condition of our room.... There were a ton of little flies in the bathroom which were happy to follow us to the bedroom :( The ceiling and carpet were both stained and the furniture was pretty run down.... but the bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi tub worked. I told the front desk at check out about the flies in the room and she thanked me and said that she would right it down... not quite the response I was looking for....

We stayed with a pet, so we were put in the pet house next to the hotel, which was fine. The rooms were small, there was no table, only a small desk and chair. The bathrooms are really outdated. They had lights next to the bed that also charged your phones, so that was a nice touch. There’s only 4 parking spots next to the pet house and they aren’t assigned by room- so it makes the walk up to the house from the parking lot hard. Specially for me because of an injured knee. We thought the coffee tasted like a penny, so we only got it once. The front desk wants you to tell them in advance what time you’ll be taking breakfast, because of this odd set up and missing my time, I never got my free breakfast during my stay, so I cannot give a review on the food. Behind our bed, it looks like the cleaners have been skipping because there was clumps of hair, so I went out and purchased a dust pan and broom because I value my privacy and I did not want anyone in my room, point is, it should have been cleaned better, pet room or not.

The carpets are filthy. The mattresses are horrible and the attendant who was supposed to mitigate the soft mattress never came. The staff are very nice, Miranda at the front desk is lovely. Place needs capital improvements and renovations. Location is ideal. Overall the place is very very overrated and over priced

The room is old and small and the bathroom was maybe updated 20 years ago. It’s a shame such a historic property is now run down. Do not recommend staying here unless the price is right. Not worth it.

This Inn reminded me how well built New England Inns can be. We were on the first floor of a three story building and right next to the kitchen (on the plus side, it was the most accessible room in the Inn). Not a peep could be heard from any other room above us or the kitchen, eg no toilet flushing and no pots and pans banging. Fantastic quiet and just what we needed. Full breakfast was a revelation- the buffet was the best of our entire trip and we really enjoyed ourselves trying a wee bit of everything. Finally, this was such a convenient Inn to go shopping at LL Bean and have multiple dinner options just minutes from the Inn. All in all, highly recommend this beautiful Inn.

The Harraseeket is a fine New England-style Inn. A bit dated in the furnishings but I think that was intentional to give it that old inn type of charm. My main gripe with the room is that there was not any type of coffee maker in the room. I think it is barbaric to expect folks to have to get-up, get dressed and presentable just to get a cup of coffee to start the day. Breakfast was a really good buffet that was included with the room but I didn't love that one had to make reservations the night before to go to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The history and my Many past stays have always been excellent. This time the dining options were limited to one restaurant. The breakfast option became a continental breakfast. There was a storm that left snow and a lot of ice. My car was parked for 2 days and was plowed in. While I attempted shoveling ice the man with the sidewalk cleaning machine, the man shoveling the entry And the plow man all witnessed my attempts. Not one even asked if I needed help. I reported this at the front desk on exit. Their response "Oh we are so sorry this happened to you". So was I.

The beds and pillows were not the most comfortable, but everyone has their own preferences. The complementary breakfast was better on the weekend (eggs, bacon, etc.) than it was during the week (muesli, dry muffins). The rear courtyard is beautiful and well-maintained. The hotel has a fun fire-pit area out front that's nice on cool nights, and their afternoon teas are a treat. The best part of this quaint hotel was its location, as it is within walking distance of restaurants, a drug store, shopping, etc. We would certainly recommend the Harraseeket to others.

We stayed at the Harraseeket a few years ago and it was much nicer. While the staff who are there are very helpful, there are no longer bellmen. You have to handle your own luggage- quite a pain. No room service for food, i.e., I wanted coffee and they sent a coffee machine. Apparently the ownership has changed, so don’t expect the elegant comfortable stay you may have had in the past.

Another guest had a dog which barked most of the night. The front desk person did not ask me how we liked our stay when I checked out and did not seem interested at all. When we checked in they first gave us a room which did not have the facilities we paid for so we had to go back to the front desk and complain. I would probably not stay there again.

We loved our stay at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. The staff were incredibly accommodating, professional and kind. We had breakfast one morning during our stay and had lunch on a different day. All the food was quite good. The lunch menu was slightly selective, but everything we ordered was absolutely tasty!

Pro Building exterior and grounds are immaculate and beautifully maintained Con Not the same for the exterior. It looks like years since anything has been done. Rugs are thread bare in spots. They no longer give guests a full breakfast. Its the bare minimum, less than a Hampton Inn. Covid gave hotels the ability to cut back on employees and services and the Harraseeket is no different except you are paying $300+ a night. No daily room service or clean towels. Not for anything but i make my bed at home without being asked, I feel for the price they should make the bed. And finally, the amount of emails and texts they send are over the top! “ when are you arriving? Prefill out the arrival forms to expedite the time at the front desk. And finally, what time do you think you will be leaving!” Definitely disappointed this visit and wont stay again.

Hotel is lovely but old and worn. It is clean and very close to town. Great for walking. Room and bathroom were small. Pool was inviting but freezing. It’s winter in Maine but they should have turned the heater on. The tavern which used to be great is closed and the restaurant was not good. Very expensive. Fish was over cooked and drinks were only half filled and not great. The tea time was fun and good little snacks. Hotel is under new management and I can tell it’s not a quaint or the quality as the last time I was here a few years ago.

Loved the Harrasseeket Inn. Such charm! It was so quaint ! We enjoyed our stay very much! The restaurant for dinner was very good. Disappointed in the continental breakfast however but loved the tea time, s’’mores & indoor pool! We’d definitely visit again!

The hotel was great, I was happy with location, room, and parking. Only complaint was our day of checkout (we stayed one night and checked out on Sunday). The coffee in the lobby was empty and the front desk person wasn't exactly nice about asking it to get refilled. We then realized there was a small breakfast in the Tavern. We sat down to have coffee and were told we could go to the buffet. This was very small and basically a continental breakfast with some scarmbled eggs and bacon. Our food was not good (one of use couldn't even eat it), nor was our coffee. Then we got the bill and were shocked that the price was $25 per person. We live in Maine and understand tourist areas, but that was expensive for the food we had access to and I think folks should be aware of that. We could have walked to a coffee shop had we known.

I always loved staying at the Harraseeket but this time was a little off. The double beds were so much smaller than other hotels and the area is lacking now that some of my favorite restaurants like Gritty’s and Jamison’s and Muddy Rudder have closed. Not to mention that the hotel got ride of their hot buffet and replaced it with continental offerings. Still like the hotel but was a little disappointed this time.
