The staff was good ,but the hotel was under major construction that we were unaware of ,the entire first floor ,pool ,fitness rooms and both stairwells were not in use .You had to walk through a construction zone to get to the only way to the second floor

Friendly and helpful staff checked us into a clean and cimfortable room. We were a little sad to see the former hot tub filled in, but very much enjoyed our time at the swimming pool. Didnt make it to the gym, but it looked inviting and was getting use by others. Overnught staff help with daily turnover and were observed bei g helpful (Hot) Breakfast options change day by day. HIE cinnamon buns still a happy option. Several choices of cold items in mini fridge include yogurt and hardboiled eggs. Several juices to choose from.

Not far from local attractions, including Portland area beaches. Plenty of parking and access from the parking lot other than front door makes it convenient to load/unload the car. Clean pool area, good hot breakfast options. Our bed was very comfortable. Room could have used a (better) vacuuming. Overall a good stay and we will come back!

We like the location of the property! Staff was friendly. When we got checked in and into the room I noticed the room was dusty and had some dead moths in the window sill, which is not totally uncommon for summer in Maine but made me nervous that the rest of the room may have not been properly cleaned. The pool was also very murky and slimy feeling, we didn’t allow the kids to enjoy it like they wanted.

The pool was great, but the best thing about the Holiday Inn Express in Freeport is the staff, especially a night staff front desk person named Natalia. She is the world's most helpful person and has helped me with many reservations before at this hotel.

The attendant when we checked in was so sweet an kind. We had to check in through the side entrance because the hotel is under construction and everything is blocked off. To get to the swimming pool you have to go outside, walk to a door and let yourself in. Our room was nice and clean. I'm sure when the construction is finished the hotel will be beautiful.

It was awful around the pool area. Drinking, rude kids and adults. Why open the door to the outside??? Breakfast same pushy rude hockey team. No pool towels.

The entry way is filthy. Garbage spilling out of the garbage can and it was still there 12 hours later. The can itself hasn’t been cleaned in quite a while. Entry way floor was dirty. Carpets dirty. Not a great welcome. 3 staff members I saw who are cleaners were very sloppy in appearance and mannerisms. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok. The facility needs a good cleaning and it’s not a good first impression to drive up and see filth.

The property was generally clean and the staff was very courteous. The facility needs to pay a little more attention to detail in the bathrooms. We had to clean a little in the shower and the toilet ran all night. We simply closed the door and ran the fan to keep it from waking us up.

The room and hotel was clean. We stayed in a king suite with a couch. Because the tv was blocked by the closet/armoire we were unable to sit on the couch and watch tv. Only viewable from the bed or desk chair. Not a good room layout. The breakfast was not as good as we had remembered. The food was meh and selection slim. The eggs were gross and the bananas overripe.

our rooms were at the back of the hotel which happened to border the highway making it noisy. In one room we had asked for someone to come up because we didn't know how to adjust the air conditioning. They never came. They forgot. Everything else was perfect - clean roomy etc.

We stayed on 3rd floor, however our room was very noisy due to the main highway that our room was backed up to. Constant traffic all night. Some sort of noise barriers should be installed on that side of the building. The building and our room were very nice and clean though!

It was super easy to check in and the room was very clean and comfortable. The Wi Fi was a bit of a challenge to get by (had to use access code instead of name and room number as that is the first choice that comes up in settings). TV did not work well, picture froze often but that was not too bothersome as our iPhones provided entertainment once we were able to hook up to the facility Wi Fi. In room telephone also did not work as we attempted to contact the front desk without any success.

I wonder if Room 310 was particularly noisy due to the highway traffic throughout the night. I would greatly appreciate being placed in one for my next stay if quieter rooms are available. Additionally, during the summer season, when the heater was not needed, I found that the heater in my room was quite noisy and disruptive throughout the night. It would be wonderful if this issue could be addressed so we can have a more comfortable stay in the future. Thank you!

I had a wonderful 5-night stay at this hotel. Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, hot water at all times, functioning WiFi, comfortable bed, easy and quiet climate control, fridge and microwave in perfect working order, and affordable price (off season). I did not partake in breakfast so I can’t speak to that. My only complaint is that the room doors slam SO loudly and people can be inconsiderate. It’d be nice if there were reminders on the door to avoid the hard slams. If you’re near a few people who let their doors slam, or even one person who’s in and out a lot, it could easily disturb your peace or sleep. Even still, I would stay here again and use ear plugs and a sound machine for the noisy doors. Great stay!

'Check in was very easys we were in Maine for a wedding and we found this hotel to be perfectly located for the events which were in Yarmouth and Portland. We also use this as a base to visit Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. I want to give a special shout out to Cruz at the front desk. who was amazing at check-in and handle. Our very simple needs with professionalism quickly.

The front desk agent was not helpful at all and in fact denied us extra towels when I asked for them, as I had to bathe my handicapped mother. Also, the beds in handicap rooms NEED to be lower to the ground for wheelchair-bound, elderly, petite people. I almost couldn't get my mother into the bed and she almost fell out while sleeping. It is very dangerous. The seat in the roll-in shower also would not fold back up.

The property was clean, great location, and breakfast was nice. We are rating this property only 2 stars because our room door was left unlocked for more than 12 hours on the last day of our stay. It was a Friday & hotel manger was off for the weekend. We left message with clerk at desk for manger to call us on Monday but received no callback. Luckily, nothing was missing but careless housekeeping and a huge safety issue.

Thanks to the wonderful staff who went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Amanda, Leon, and Sasha deserve a special note of thanks. My husband had been injured and the staff was sincerely concerned and exceptionally thoughtful. Leon hosted the most pleasant and delicious breakfast buffet. Wow ! The best! Thanks to all.

This property was well located for the days that we were staying there. We booked this location because we were sightseeing coastal Maine. It is close enough to downtown Freeport to drive to, but not so close to be stuck in the congestion. Very easy to get on Rt 295. Close to restaurants, shops, and the Maine state visitor center.

The hotel is a great location. It’s easy to find, has plenty of parking and is close to downtown Freeport. It’s also an easy drive into Portland. The beds we’re comfortable and the breakfast was the typical HIX breakfast. There was a lot more highway noise than we expected, but it may be because our room was on the side nearest to the road.

We were their in business but also to see family. The location is good the Staff was AMAZING! Especially the gentleman that seemed in charge of everything except the front desk. He did breakfast, helped us with our TV, when we had family over to swim, they let us use the breakfast area you order in food. They went above and beyond! They breakfast had hot items every morning.

Weird smell. Poor information regarding hotel and Wi-Fi use. Just seemed like an old, worn out hotel. Breakfast looked good but actual food taste and quality were poor. They had milk and almond milk half gallons that were both expired for days!!
