One of my favorite properties to stay at when I'm traveling. Great amenities, location, etc. My only complaint is that parking is too expensive for Roanoke. I feel like I'm paying rates commensurate with a much larger, more crowded city. It would be great if they could bring those down.

Pros: the hotel is pretty looking from the exterior and in a convenient location if you have things to do in the city limits. Cons: Everything else. Parking here is extremely inconvenient. Your options are either to park yourself and walk on an unlit, unsupervised trail frequented by homeless people, or have your car valet parked which is also apparently the only service of any kind this hotel offers (I couldn’t even get someone to hold a door open for me while carrying bags.) Even if you park yourself you’re paying $15 per day on top of the ridiculous price for this stay. The room itself was cleaned poorly, the bathroom especially still had residue and splashes from the previous guest. The hotel is noisy and full of loud drunks, the walls and doors are paper thin. There’s also an overall attitude of elitism from the staff without actually doing anything to provide a superior stay. I was barely interacted with by any of the staff and still the first thing you’re greeted with when entering your room is a way to tip them virtually. A complete waste of money.

The staff at the Hotel Roanoke was outstanding. We used the valet parking and the hotel shuttle for trips to and from family gatherings. The valets were punctual and friendly. They made our stay much more pleasant.

The property was not very clean. One out of three elevators was disabled during entire stay. Room has not been very well cleaned with debris on floor and three pairs of shoes from prior guest still in closet/armoire. The only outlet in bathroom was not functioning making it impossible to operate hair dryer resulting in my wife having to use TV in main room like a mirror. At $500 per night not what I had expected.

Have stayed here many times and enjoyed it. This time, not so much... Booked a king room for 3 nights and upon arrival was told that there were none available. HVAC in our room was extremely noisy. Maintenance did fix the problem but it only lasted about an hour before the noise started again. Housekeeping was a no show for three days after having requested daily service.

I’ve stayed there 4 times & I love the staff who listened to my needs. I wasn’t quite happy the last time because my room was next to the train tracks. I mentioned my concerns & I was placed in a very quiet area away from the tracks. However, I hope they will be particular in terms of cleanliness. Room was clean but the coffeemaker I found out was dirty. There were coffee drip stains on it & water stains. Also, the toilet was used by someone because there was a tissue & nobody flushed it. And the linens didn’t smell fresh. However, the staff was always nice & very accommodating. It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back.

The grounds and main areas of the hotel were absolutely stunning. All wow factor stopped at the room however. The room was not clean or well kept. Dead bugs in the window sill, Cobwebs and dust throughout the room, mold in the shower, mysterious splatters on the ceiling, and so on. I killed two bugs within ten minutes of entering the room. I have stayed at other Curio collection hotels and this did not even come close to my expectations based off of previous experience. Staff was friendly and the onsite dining was lovely. Overall I will not stay here again. The cleanliness of the room was seriously that of an interstate hotel that cost a third of the price. Not what I expect of Hilton brand.

We booked and paid for a king size bed but upon check-in we were notified that they only had us booked for a queen size bed despite showing them our confirmation. No king beds were available and they wouldn’t give us an adjustment since we pre-paid through Expedia. After getting into the first room, we turned on the air and the noise coming from the vents was louder then our tv. This would have been impossible for anybody to sleep through without ear plugs. We couldn’t believe the noise coming through the vents. We brought our luggage back downstairs and asked for a new room. We were given another room on the same floor. Turning on the air in that room was the same as the first. After driving 10 hours, we gave up and turned the air off completely to try to sleep. Luckily we were able to crack the window to get air into the room. This isn’t what we expected from a Hilton or the price tag that came with booking the room. Besides the room being extremely small, mattress springs pushing through and hairdryer sparking, the room was very clean.

The woman at the desk, Kimberly, was kind and working so hard, but she was the only one checking people in. Long line of 5+ groups waiting to check in. Also, disappointing that the Hotel Toanoke no longer does cookies at check in. That was always so lovely.

Beautiful & charming property, just need up keeping. Walkable from downtown. TERRIBLE front desk personnel. They are what makes the first impression to the hotel. Very dry to talk to, don't even smile. They could at least say " Welcome to Roanoke Hotel", but nothing. When i checked out, I reported a possible leak under the sink because all the bath towels under are all soaking wet, the lady didn't even thank me for reporting it or at least apologize. I will never go back!

I don't normally write reviews, but this hotel was exceptional. Great location for Taubman Art Museum, Virginia Transportation Museum, O Winston Link Museum and downtown. Dinner at the Pine Room was excellent and fairly priced. Best of all, hotel was a short walk from the Amtrak Station. Small downside on eco-friendly: Had to run shower a very long time to get hot water, and there did not seem to be any recycling bins that I saw.

A grand old hotel reconditioned to pristine shape. 2 significant shortfalls. No food service after 10 p m. After 2 hours in the lovely bar, felt food was necessary. Was referred to “gift shop” barely a closet where I bought all 6 of their cheese crackers. if room service not available, some prepared sandwich and salad options should be available as long as alcohol being served. Only other problem was no glasses in the room or bathroom. Only paper coffee cups. The positives include prompt and reasonable valet parking and spacious public areas. The lounge ceiling is imaginative and beautiful.

Property is beautiful and needs to keep its original character from, rooms, staff, service etc. I had styrofoam cups for water and coffee. No glass cups for drinking and no drinking glasses in the bathroom. Hard to believe for a collectors item hotel. Dining room is beautiful, however for breakfast you are pushed to use the buffet where the food is cold. Being able to order what you like from the menu creates a more pleasant experience for a perceived higher end hotel.

Mauve at the front desk was friendly and helpfull. We really appreciate her. We were told that the more upscale restaurant, The Regency Room on the property would provide fine dining at its best. Lowell greated us at the door, provided us with a beautiful calligraphy souvenir of our name, and seated us after a short wait. .Lowell even came over to the table when he saw that we were sitting for quite a while and the assigned waitress still had not come over to the table to introduce herself. That waitress never came over to our table the entire evening although that was clearly her section and she had to pass our table several times to serve the quests to the left and right of our table. Lowell then asked one of the "supervisors" Leah to assist us. Unfortunately Leah was condesending and inappropriate in her interaction with us--even going so far as to declare "we didn't take a bite out of the food" when asked about a considerable space on one side of our salad. It is unfortunate that the service spoiled what otherwise could have been a good experience in the Regency Room. The music was great, other guests were lovely, the room is beautiful, even the gentleman who served the water was professional and pleasant. It was hard to enjoy the food after receiving such unmatched service. It pains me to give such a review and I hope the resesterant will provide additional training for its staff.

This hotel is truly classic and iconic in this historic town. The room is clean and comfortable with a touch of luxury and artistic vibe. We had dinner at the Pine Room and breakfast buffet at the main dining room. Both experience were terrific. The food choices and quality of their breakfast buffet exceeds our expectations. House-made smoked salmon is phenomenal.

Walls were thin...could hear the couple in the adjacent room going at it for hours. Room was quite small, for a $300 per night hotel. Regency Room for dinner was excellent, but very pricey.

The Roanoke Inn and Conference Center was AMAZING. It had several restaurants, a pool, hot tub, spa, bar and a TON of history.
