The room itself was small but perfect. It was cozy and the bed was soft and cozy! There is a lot of homeless around the area but they do not bother you and are harmless. It does have a lot of trash on the outside boarder of the property but like I said they don't bother you. They have security after 11pm so I felt even more secure knowing that and slept well. I am glad I found this little hole in the wall and will be happily returning!

Very clean rooms !! Being here in Salem it's nice to know they have security on site...

Easy parking, closebto shopping

No coffee maker Asked for extra towels i was told their were no more. My keys didn't work @ check in . Lights by the bed didn't work . We had a kitchen no glasses, or cooking pots.

even mopped the floors. Cheap, old, uncomfortable sheets and beds. No working ice machine. Staff were rude and unprofessional. WORST place I' ve ever stayed in the entire state.

Room was nice also have smoking rooms a plus cause of the rainy days

You get what you pay for, bare bones no coffee or ice. It appears to have monthly tenants. It’s nice that it has a full-size fridge and 2 burners, but you will need to provide everything. It did its job and was inexpensive.

No ice machine or coffee maker. Resident left dog poop in front of my door and smoked near the front of my door. People were gathering after dark in the parking lot. It appears this hotel could have housed the homeless. I would insist on being notified prior to booking if the homeless or indigent people reside there so I could choose whether or not to stay there.

Another extended stay hotel I stayed at just 3 days before was $88. Both did not provide a one or two day package of simple amenities such as hair dryer coffee pot and cups. I'm not sure why I extended stay places advertise for short stays if they cannot provide simple amenities for those of us who are short stay. Room is very adequate and clean though we did ask for a quiet room and we were placed staring at highway 5.

I adore the kitchenette, full refrigerator and the walk in shower. And the property is pet friendly. My stay gets better everytime I'm a guest.

The room smelled like a trashcan.. There was dirty used plastic spoon and what appeared to be spilled mayonaise in fridge The dresser drawers hanging open would nit close ..mold around shower The door does not seal..so verry breazy and noisy 2 pillows had black curly pube like hair..front desk was gone by the time we entered room .toilet wasnt flushing completly...this appears to be housing for unhoused..parklot had multiple cars with people living inthem.

Terrible. DIRTY floors (I had to wear shoes the whole stay), blood stained bath mat, super strong fragrance, bathroom sink leaked and couldn’t be repaired until day two so I couldn’t use it, no screen in the window….I spent the whole first night itchy as can be and didn’t think I’d make it thru night two but they wouldn’t even entertain the idea of a refund. Would never stay again, and would never recommend. Worst 200.00 I’ve ever spent.

It’s not what it looks like in the photos, there’s nothing in the kitchen except two disposable plastic cups, no silverware or coffeemaker or plates or anything yet there is a full size refrigerator and a stovetop. The bathroom was dirty and there was hair on the sheets. There isn’t an ice machine on the property and overall kind of disappointing. The checkin clerk was very pleasant and kind and parking was easy.

2nd time staying here. A bit cleaner, but still very dirty. As in hair in the shower that isn’t mine. But at least the floors have been cleaned and aren’t sticky.

Not clean

Was not pleased with my stay here at all. My wife and I were very uncomfortable due to the bed, the sheets were stained and had some black dog hair, and the floor was not clean. Everything in the room was cheap, and the whole place looks like it could fall apart at any minute. Not to mention that it reeked of cigarettes in the elevator, stairwell, and all around the outside of the hotel. The only good thing about our stay here was the friendly staff. This room was barely worth $20, definitely not the $60 we paid for it. Safe to say we will never be staying here again.

The room was clean and maintained. It was quiet in the evening which I very much liked.

The place was dirty . Not enough towels for all guest and when I asked for towels the lady gave attitude and when I took them back because the clean towels were dirty she was nasty . When you walked in the floors it was sticky so your feet were filthy. Discussing place mold in bathroom hole in headboard holes in bathroom wall. Curtains had holes in them

The room was very stinky, bathroom exhaust vent was full of dirt and fuzz, bathroom door wouldn't latch, tape over part of the fire alarm, a/c unit stunk because filters were filthy, and the floor was dirty enough to make my white socks black.

Nice enough place, especially for the money. Rooms are clean but very very small. It has a full kitchen but no plates, pans, cups, silverware..nothing, making it impossible to use unless you bring your own. Bed was comfy, internet good. Nice location about .5 miles from many stores and restaurants. Staff was very nice and helpful. Recommended

Web sight saus they offer cooking pots and pans for guests. They do not there was a micro wave

Very good for an overnight stay. Simply designed for easy cleaning and comfort. Bed was very comfortable

Rooms were bang for your buck, really clean and had everything you need. Big fridge and gas single stove was a plus. Rented a room and my wife stayed in the room, she went for a walk and couldn’t get back in (key card stopped working) wife went to ask for replacement, guy at front said no because her name wasn’t in reservation which makes sense, I had to drive back 45 minutes from Molalla to show my id to get new card. I understand not giving her a card, but if the room key was working properly and didn’t crap out we wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place.

Needed rest was good until kids were put above me

Rooms looked very fun down. The bed was terrible and we woke up needing to go to the chiropractor.

The staff is absolutely wonderful. Helpful and friendly. Small maintenance request was dealt with quickly and with minimal inconvenience. Would definitely recommend.

Its not luxury accommodation but it was adequate and affordable for what we needed. Clean, staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable.

Stephine was so super helpful.I don't have anything negative to say about the property. All the staff are so nice, they are on top of things.

In need of a bit of a remodel. Towels worn off. Toilet paper did not have a holder, the flush did not work properly, no phone in the room, very questionable guests very close to homeless people living in their cars and rats running thru the parking lot

I was only there for a day, but there is a vacant lot and homeless people live there. There was a person lying on the floor who was drugged or asleep.

It’s a pleasure staying at the Hometowne Studios for 4 nights without hassle, checked in near midnight, but very considerate, easy! Place is about .07 miles to bars and restaurants so it’s pretty much walkable. I’ll definitely stay herr again whenever I go back to Salem.

easy access to highway

I liked staying here at this hotel the beds were very comfortable and the location was awesome right off the freeway, a lot of food places near by so you could walk to them

Near Walmart and a bunch of restaurants. It was an excellent location and room was nice

The hotel itself was alright, the area around it was sketchy.

Convenient to the I5 and a bunch of restaurants/takeouts. The room was clean, basic and value for money.

I would never stay at Hometowne Studios in Salem again. The location felt very unsafe, with a noticeable presence of homeless individuals hanging around the area and in the parking lot. Upon entering our first room, we found no toilet paper and a strong smell of weed. To make matters worse, the phone in the room didn’t work, so my husband had to go down to the front desk to request toilet paper and air freshener. Instead of giving it to him directly, they insisted on having a maintenance person bring it up, possibly because they thought we might steal it. This was frustrating and inconvenient as I just wanted a shower after such a long drive. After leaving the room for a few hours, we returned to settle down and watch some TV before bed, only to discover that the TV was damaged, with half the screen being black and unusable. We went back down to the front desk to report this, and the receptionist moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t much better. It reeked of cigarettes, even though it’s supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. We found cigarette ash in the vents of the AC/heating unit, which was extremely loud and practically shook the room when running. The walls and windows were very thin, and being placed on the backside of the hotel facing the I-5 freeway meant we could hear all the traffic noise from the freeway, as well as our neighbors watching TV and yelling at each other into the late hours. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
