Stayed 1 night

I will never stay at the Rodeway Inn again! After staying 2 nights at RW(countless nites in 9 years) on what would have been my last nite I decided to stay another day. I booked an additional nite on Hotels.com as I have several times in the past. At 9am as is their practice housekeeping began knocking and rushing folks to vacate down the hall, at my door I explained booking another nite, didn’t need anything from the cart & shut the door. The proprietor calls at 1030 to let me know I owe a fee that needs to be paid immediately for “early -check- in.” This is not stated anywhere on hotels.com or the hotel’s www, nor is it posted or advertised in the office. I explained this and why I questioned the fee because I’ve never been charged there or at any other hotel ranging from The W or Caesar’s Palace down to cheap hotels such as this; I asked what was I to do to avoid additionally charges since I’d never experienced this. A RUDE, SMUG attitude glared back at me as he said: vacate and come back at 2p. Now if I just arrived at 10:30 for a 2p check in I could understand, not after a 3 night stay when the hotel is clearly almost empty. Now, It’s his dump and I’m sure it’s his prerogative to add whatever gouges he wishes, but that doesn’t make it right. But be warned these people will give you 2 thread bearing towels and a ding un rag, and the next day to charge extra for being a good customer. No thank you. I cancelled my reservation and stayed across the street.

The staff is rude at best, the word hospitality woukd never enter your mind when recalling interactions with the staff at any time. Amenities?! Ha! The property advertises a pool that has been closed for years, weak Wi-Fi, heatin/cooling units that are always off upon arrival do not function properly, not only will you walk into a hotbox of icebox depending on the season, if takes a long time to get the rm temp to be bearable, several outlets in the rms, many of which have no power, sparks will fly attempting to use mann others, the last rm had one outlet working and it was next to the door. My phone and laptop are the only things I bring needing charge . Also a concern is the growing, ever changing list of up charges or fees the management try to impose that have no documentation or explanation’s It like a buffet line priced à la carte.

Rude staff, advertise a pool, been closed for years. It’s a Ratty Flop house with swindling grifters running it’s the staff are so rude it makes you feel bad and wonder why they would treat me poorly for no reason. Beware if the outlets too, sparks fly in the ones that hold a plug. I will call the Better Business Bureau Monday to report their list of scams. It like a buffet line priced à la cart.

I will never stay at the Rodeway Inn again. I decided last night to extend my trip another night,I reserved another nites stay in the exact type rm for the following day, relaxed and went to bed. At this time hotels.com conf page shows 7 rms left. These people start the housekeeping nuisances at 9a. Rushing you to vacate and waking up everyone trying to sleep. This morning was no exception, rather than I was remaining as a guest, I explained they moved down the hall. The proprietor calls at 1030 to let me know I owe $40 for checking in early. It had not stated this in any line or advertising of both hotels.com or the hotels www, not was it posted or advertised in the office. I asked what I was to do if I chose not to pay the “$40 early check in fee?” His RUDE & SMUG attitude on his good days was glaring, he said: vacate and come back at 2p. I have stayed in the W or Gaylord Resorts, Hilton, Marriott, Holiday in to local grand old hotels, and I’ve stayed in Motel 6’s and this slum RWI and never have I been subject to such a fee, or have I ever been charged additionally that was not clearly stated in the agreement then receipt itemized for clarity. These people are scamming grifters, who sit behind glass in rude tones and broken English pull their tricks. It’s his prerogative to add any gouges he wants at his run down property, but that doesn’t make it right or good business. I’ve never been so mad in many years, cancelled, left and will never be back.
