We loved the staff at this hotel and the beautiful grounds in a quiet area. The pool was fantastic and on-site dining options are excellent, especially for tired travelers in need of relaxation. Staff (Paolo, Mario and Valentina) at the pool bar and dinner were excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great hotel. Only thing missing is a place to workout. I had to take an uber to a work place and pay for both the uber and the workout. 50 euros each time I worked out.

They make you wear a swimming cap for the pool so don’t book this just for the pool, barley anyone uses it cause they don’t wanna put the cap on - I think they said it happens at every hotel in rome

Parking in the property is difficult; you need to call them to open the gate each way, making it not easy after hours. The rooms need some upgrading. The staff is friendly and know how to serve you well. The location is amazing. The garden and outdoor are espectacular.

Great location close enough even by walking distance ( for young people or people active , in shape) to St. Petro Basilica). We took taxi to other places drive 10-15min. Staff very helpful and nice. Room was very clean, nice windows, open wide, even in the bathroom. Shower with shower head from the ceiling or holding from the side option. Travelers from the US need to get special plugs for wall outlets that are not round shape ( we only had round shape ones and hotel did not provide) , if not market down the street has it . The pool is big, nice , outdoor , cold water, but opens at 9am. To get to it , you have to leave through the front of the hotel and enter through the side entrance( towels and swim caps that they want anyone use it are provided. Not sure why the need for caps. Mildew builds up inside the pool. Pool closes at 7pm( too early). Breakfast is good, buffet style.Nice choices, plenty of coffee, tea, capppucino, juices, yogurts.sweets etc. Btw breakfast in European hotels is always so much better than in US hotels. Definitely would stay in this hotel again

Le roof top et le bar qui devaient être ouverts et le restaurant sur la terrasse n’étaient pas ouvert. Or c’est cette vue qui a engagé mon choix de prendre cet hôtel. Le petit dej n’est pas très bon. Seules les chambres semblent relever du standard annoncé. Donc le prix est trop élevé par rapport aux prestations.

Há ovos mexidos,, bacon, salsichas, pães, bolos e poucas frutas e cereais. O atendimento da recepção foi um pouco rude no check-in. Há estacionamento no local, com custo de 20 EUR, mas quando chegamos, mal pudemos retirar as malas do carro, que a recepcionista falou que tínhamos que retirar o carro caso não quiséssemos usar o estacionamento. Tive que levar as malas sozinho para o quarto enquanto minha esposa estacionava na rua, que tinha vagas disponíveis e sem custo.

Fina och mycket rena rum. Trevlig personal. Bra frukost för att vara i Italien, det finns något för alla smaker inte bara sötsaker. Lugnt område på en kulle. Man måste åka buss åtminstone tillbaka till hotellet. Men det går lätt nu när man kan betala med sitt kreditkort på bussen. Det går flera busslinjer nära hotellet. De har en fin takterass som tyvärr inte var öppen ännu. Jag kan varmt rekommendera hotellet.

Our stay at the hotel was delightful. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet offered many good options. Our room was clean and comfy. Reasonable walking distance from Trastevere restaurants and shops.

Great location at the top of Janiculum hill to get great views over the city with a lovely park close by. Great to walk down to the abundance of restaurants in the quirky cobbled streets of Trastevere. Very steep walk back up to hotel which we enjoyed for the fitness but plenty of buses, taxi’s if you’d prefer. The staff at hotel were all wonderful and welcoming fantastic service and the pool was great for relaxing after all the site seeing

The hotel located on a hill near park, quiet neighborhood right next to Michelin star restaurant and has nice grounds and pool around but this is the only positive points. The link for public transport is totally inconvenient, it takes at least half hour ride to the attractions, and the bus comes in half hour, it walkable down but back you may need a taxi. The classic room is disappointing, it’s small and dark and the bed is stuck between walls that feel like a dungeon. No upgrade or benefits provided as Expedia Gold VIP member. The worst part is paper thin walls, I’m not a picky person BUT I woke up in the middle of the night because of a couple that was F****g the next door, I could hear everything like it was happening in my bed as well as the conversation they had afterwards…mind it was 3 am Saturday night… The breakfast is very basic, not many choices and terrible coffee, the worst I had in Italy. Yes, this hotel has attractive price, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

This hotel is just average. The price is very expensive for what you get. It is not good value for money. The rooms are small, the fridge in our room was broken and we asked about it and still no one came to help or fix it. We could not get milk for our tea in the evening and asking for additional teabags and a fresh towel was such a task we nearly gave up. The night staff member was rude and unhelpful. The buffet breakfast was below average. The pool is good on the hot days. Most of the staff are lovely.

Bei einem Hotel mit 4 Sternen und bei dem Preis haben wir bestimmt etwas anderes erwartet. Das Hotel hat eine super Lage. Die Gegend ist wirklich schön und mit dem Bus ist man schnell bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch der Pool lohnt sich. Der Zustand des Hotels ist aber alles andere als toll. Es ist sehr dunkel und in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad ist unglaublich klein und man kann sich gerade mal so um sich selber drehen. Überall gibt es Ecken die einfach alt und in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer sind unglaublich hellhörig. Aus dem Schlafzimmer konnte man hören wenn die Gäste aus den benachbarten Zimmern ins Bad gegangen sind und z.B. geduscht haben oder zur Toilette gegangen sind konnten wir alles hören. Im Bad dann dasselbe. Ich konnte jedes Wort hören das von oben gesprochen wurde. Nachts war es unerträglich weil wir durch die Geräusche immer wieder wach geworden sind. Auch der Service beim Frühstück war sehr unhöflich. Als ich nach Wasser gefragt habe wurde mir gesagt es gibt keine neuen Flaschen da gleich das Frühstück beendet sei (dabei waren es noch 45 Minuten bis ende!). Es war wirklich kein schöner Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Man hat sich sehr als unerwünscht gefühlt. Der Service am Empfang entspricht auch keinen 4 Sternen. Das Hotel ist nicht zu empfehlen. Vor allem nicht zu diesen Preisen!

Im Bad dann dasselbe. Ich konnte jedes Wort hören das von oben gesprochen wurde. Nachts war es unerträglich weil wir durch die Geräusche immer wieder wach geworden sind. Auch der Service beim Frühstück war sehr unhöflich. Als ich nach Wasser gefragt habe wurde mir gesagt es gibt keine neuen Flaschen da gleich das Frühstück beendet sei (dabei waren es noch 45 Minuten bis ende!). Es war wirklich kein schöner Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Man hat sich sehr als unerwünscht gefühlt. Der Service am Empfang entspricht auch keinen 4 Sternen. Das Hotel ist nicht zu empfehlen. Vor allem nicht zu diesen Preisen!

Grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. Pool is a nice quiet reprieve. Overall hotel is kept very clean but is very dated and worn around the edges. Rooms are very simple but clean. Only critique-We were very unhappy with the uncomfortable old beds. Squeaky springs that after 6 nights, left you achy in the mornings. Front desk advised that none of the rooms have anything better so a change of rooms wasn’t possible. Restaurant staff is great, breakfast was good. I would say, come for the pool mostly.

Great staff, friendly and helpful. Nice building with marble floors and bathroom. Nice breakfast with real cappuccino on demand, seved in the covered courtyard. Only the bed and pillows were below expectation. Easy to fix.

We loved the staff at this hotel and the beautiful grounds in a quiet area. The pool was fantastic and on-site dining options are excellent, especially for tired travelers in need of relaxation. Staff (Paolo, Mario and Valentina) at the pool bar and dinner were excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It was first trip to Rome and it was nice to be just a few miles away from the city center. The views were spectacular because the Hotel was up in the hills overlooking the city. The front counter staff (Ianna) not sure how to spell her name was simply a joy, always smiling and gracious.

Great hotel. Clean and spacious for a couple nights stay. The breakfast and pool was excellent. Our first room provided had damages done to the door so it wouldn’t lock properly and after proving this to their maintenance and front desk, they provided another room.

This hotel is just average. The price is very expensive for what you get. It is not good value for money. The rooms are small, the fridge in our room was broken and we asked about it and still no one came to help or fix it. We could not get milk for our tea in the evening and asking for additional teabags and a fresh towel was such a task we nearly gave up. The night staff member was rude and unhelpful. The buffet breakfast was below average. The pool is good on the hot days. Most of the staff are lovely.

Parece mais um hotel mal assombrado. Tem decoração muito antiga, apesar de parecer ter passado por uma renovação na parte elétrica. Os quartos e o banheiro são muito pequenos e há um pouco de cheiro de mofo em seu interior. O café da manhã é relativamente variado, mas a reposição dos alimentos é fraca. Há ovos mexidos,, bacon, salsichas, pães, bolos e poucas frutas e cereais. O atendimento da recepção foi um pouco rude no check-in. Há estacionamento no local, com custo de 20 EUR, mas quando chegamos, mal pudemos retirar as malas do carro, que a recepcionista falou que tínhamos que retirar o carro caso não quiséssemos usar o estacionamento. Great location at the top of Janiculum hill to get great views over the city with a lovely park close by. Great to walk down to the abundance of restaurants in the quirky cobbled streets of Trastevere. Very steep walk back up to hotel which we enjoyed for the fitness but plenty of buses, taxi’s if you’d prefer. The staff at hotel were all wonderful and welcoming fantastic service and the pool was great for relaxing after all the site seeing

This is an older hotel, like most in Rome. The rooms are a good size, and the views are great because the hotel is at the top of the hill. The pool is nice, but the weather was too cold for us to use it. The breakfast in the morning was amazing, and the location was great for shopping and dining. Again, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, so if you have mobility issues, it could cause an issue. I would stay there again.

Parking in the property is difficult; you need to call them to open the gate each way, making it not easy after hours. The rooms need some upgrading. The staff is friendly and know how to serve you well. The location is amazing. The garden and outdoor are espectacular.

Lovely hotel and great staff. Excellent breakfast. We had dinner for €35 per head and it was well worth it and delicious. It is situated on a hill which itakes15 minutes downhill to get to the hub of Trastevere. We are all over 50 years old so needed a taxi back to hotel which was only €9. We had a great time.

Great location close enough even by walking distance ( for young people or people active , in shape) to St. Petro Basilica). We took taxi to other places drive 10-15min. Staff very helpful and nice. Room was very clean, nice windows, open wide, even in the bathroom. Shower with shower head from the ceiling or holding from the side option. Travelers from the US need to get special plugs for wall outlets that are not round shape ( we only had round shape ones and hotel did not provide) , if not market down the street has it . The pool is big, nice , outdoor , cold water, but opens at 9am. To get to it , you have to leave through the front of the hotel and enter through the side entrance( towels and swim caps that they want anyone use it are provided. Not sure why the need for caps. Mildew builds up inside the pool. Pool closes at 7pm( too early). Breakfast is good, buffet style.Nice choices, plenty of coffee, tea, capppucino, juices, yogurts.sweets etc. Btw breakfast in European hotels is always so much better than in US hotels. Definitely would stay in this hotel again

The hotel located on a hill near park, quiet neighborhood right next to Michelin star restaurant and has nice grounds and pool around but this is the only positive points. The link for public transport is totally inconvenient, it takes at least half hour ride to the attractions, and the bus comes in half hour, it walkable down but back you may need a taxi. The classic room is disappointing, it’s small and dark and the bed is stuck between walls that feel like a dungeon. No upgrade or benefits provided as Expedia Gold VIP member. The worst part is paper thin walls, I’m not a picky person BUT I woke up in the middle of the night because of a couple that was F****g the next door, I could hear everything like it was happening in my bed as well as the conversation they had afterwards…mind it was 3 am Saturday night… The breakfast is very basic, not many choices and terrible coffee, the worst I had in Italy. Yes, this hotel has attractive price, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

This was our first time to Rome and staying at the Gianicolo truly took our trip to the next level. The facilities are lovely, the hotel gives you the feeling of a European vacation from the 1950s or 60s but with all the modern conveniences you need. Breakfast each morning was great with a good variety of options, homemade pastries, cakes, creamy scrambled eggs, or fresh fruit and cereal. The pool is incredible - perfect for starting the day with a dip or coming back after a hot day of sightseeing. We had our final dinner at the restaurant in the hotel where we dined poolside while watching the sunset. The service was wonderful with great food and wine recommendations and it was one of the best meals we ate the whole week! The rooms are not large, but that’s fairly typical of European hotels, so we were prepared for that. We still had plenty of space to store our belongings and hideaway our luggage, and having AC was worth it for a smaller room vs staying at a larger AirBNB without air conditioning. The staff were all warm and efficient, promptly helping us with any questions or concerns. The neighborhood was also lovely, a little quieter since it is up the hill from the river and the more lively area of Trastevere, but very walkable and conveniently located to get to both attractions on the other side of the river and the Vatican with a quick taxi ride. Overall, I cannot recommend the Gianicolo more and hope to return on future vacations!

We had such an amazing stay here. The pool was EVERYTHING for my 6 year old son, the staff was incredibly sweet and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable. The included colazione was also a nice bonus! Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very clean, and staff polite, however the amenities do not warrant a 4 star rating. There was no premium bedding or luxury bath products. I only stay 4 star and I would not at all rate this 4 overall. The location to restaurants are a challenge to get to especially if you do not prefer climbing via stairs or a steep incline on your way back.

Beautiful room and lobby. Breakfast had a lot options to choose from. Staff was friendly. Loved that there was a pool, which was great with how warm the city has been.

Lovely pool area, clean room. Brekky ok variety but noisy. Some staff pretty arrogant and sometimes even rude. Expensive and tiny pool menu. I probably won’t stay here again.

The staff was excellent, very helpful. The cleanest rooms. Housekeeping was a great woman. She's efficientand very fast, and very sweet. The pool staff were very Attentive, the food was excellent. The pool was excellent very clean the grounds were manicured. Very Quiet neighborhood, with lots to see in this upscale neighborhood, reminded me of Beverly Hills. The local restaurants were by far out of the world good. I'll be back
