Riu Palace Macao - Adults Only - All Inclusive

The resort was beautiful, the pool water was warm like bath water, so it was not refreshing, and could have been cleaned better. The beach area was gorgeous, sadly though the seaweed took away the enjoyment of the beach.

Nice place with decent to good food. Daytime burgers and hot dogs should be made fresh for better taste. Restaurants were good with friendly service and available choices. Bar staff were hit or miss and room cleaning service randomly showed up at all times of day. Noelvis at the bar could be rude at times, most everyone else provided good service. Some of the staff didn't speak any English. The beach area was nice but the beach itself was terrible. Murky and wavey waters full of seaweed. Mountains of seaweed. Overall a decent place to stay but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list.

Power outages seem to be the norm at this location…experienced about 4 during my stay even during check in. Music while relaxing at the pool was only during an event and not consistent. During check out, staff did not seem to understand my request for transportation which was prepaid.

Clean room/property. Didn’t like that you had to make a reservation for the jacuzzi. It was in a separate area in the Wellness Center/Spa. Would have been nice if there was jacuzzi by the pools. Casio only opened during certain time period.

Scenary was excellent, really enjoyed the swim up bars

Didn’t like the lack of elevators and the amount of walking and stairs to get to your room.

The hotel stay was very enjoyable, and the staff was very courteous and customer-oriented! The evening entertainments were well done and guest engaging. The restaurants are well spread out within the property, but when it rains, it's a bit difficult to get to some of them without getting wet. A covered access to the restaurants should be installed for bad weather days.

Swim up bar pool is not sanitary

Beautiful place, the aesthetics are so nice, modern and neutral colors. The rooms amazing, but be aware if you leave the balcony door open the AC shuts off, and every time you open the door it shuts off, which made the suite a bit warm at times. Everything clean, the only thing I could complain about are the pools were too warm to get in, all of them, I wish they were cool and they seemed full of oil, muggy color (the water). The beach was full of seaweed so couldn't get in, but that's nature. The food in the Buffet "El Patio" was amazing, better than the actual restaurants they had. They had shows/entertainment for you every day and night which was nice, gives you something to do. They offer exclusions right there (to buy) . Looks like we went at off peak season because it wasn't full at all, and the lounge and pool area were never full at capacity.

RIU Macao was a perfect property for couples without kids - not so large you get lost but big enough to have nice amenities. Food was better than average for RIUs and service was outstanding. The nightly shows were a little below expectations from other RIUs, but staff was very nice and helpful.

Staff was all kind and attentive and food was better than most other all inclusives we have stayed at. However, non-potable water out of sinks, and upset stomachs all week from either food or bar drinks was terrible. Property was not well maintained. Mold on walls specifically the wall bed was on through wallpaper, mold in shower, and musty in room all week. Our bedding felt wet all week.(even with damp rid bags) Smoking anywhere on property is not normal at any other resorts we have been at. Only in designated areas. This was not nice for us non smokers as people were smoking everywhere. There was a marijuana smell the whole week around the property. Large cockroach in Cubana bar which ruined the vibe for the evening we wanted to spend in there. Would not return to this resort.

We got food poisoning while we were there. The pool with the bar there had a film sitting on top of the water. They came and cleaned are room took our dirty wash clothes and didn’t give new ones. They took our pillow cases and didn’t give us new ones. Food wasn’t good. Some of the staff was rude.

Beware! The rooms have roaches! It’s odd that sites purport this property as five stars. It is an old property that doesn’t appear to have been updated in decades. The showers are old and have worms and roaches coming up through the drain. And there was an awful sewage smell in the rooms. Depending on which staff member you engaged with, you were treated with kindness or annoyance, which made for a pretty inconsistent over-all service experience. The only good thing about this location is the spa. The services were great and the therapists were amazing.

From check in to check out it wasnt a good experience, room smelled like mold and mildew. called the front desk 4 times for them to come fix it. First time they sprayed some then left. second time they sprayed something that was so strong like a bleach smell it made me gag. I had to continue to call the front desk because in the living room area separate from the room felt like the heater was on. It was so hot. The whole point of my upgrading the room to get the separate living room area so when my husband is sleep I can still get some work done and that couldn’t happen with it being extra hot in there. After the fourth time calling them coming twice and trying to fix it they moved our room. We moved from the 3rd to the 1st floor. Room smelled okay but the toilet was running and wouldn’t flush. So we called. Mind you this move was at 230AM. they sent maintenance to come fix it and he came and worked about 40 mins advised he would be back. About 45 mins passed and called the front desk back they advised he left for the night. We were so confused bc he said he would be right back. Communication is very poor there too. So their solution was to not use the restroom for 3-4 hours until he returned or we can move rooms back to the 3rd floor. So we moved rooms again around 4AM. It was so exhausting and tiring. I even asked many times to down grade the room so we could be on the first floor and they act like they didn’t have it available. We were so over it at this point. No compensa

My room was dirty and had mold. Meals at the buffet was the exact same everyday and that was very disappointing. I stayed in the “elite club” area and received a sparkling wine as a gift. The metal cap was rusty and the cork had mold. Got a replacement and it had mold as well. Room wasn’t cleaned properly even had a spider in the corner of my bathroom floor behind the door. I requested a room change but one wasn’t available as I had a swim up room. Bathroom sink doesn’t drain properly reported it, nobody came and fixed it. The area I was staying in hallway was dirty. My room door itself had mold spores on it and the walls and headboard area also has sign of mold. The coffee machine area was dirty and the cord for the coffee machine has mold. I killed a mosquito on the night stand and they came and “cleaned” the mosquito and the blood was still there.

There was a horrible smell on the second floor

there were roaches in my room, it smelled like mildew. the ceiling was leaking and house keeping stopped coming to clean the room.

Everything about this resort was wonderful!! Except for cleanliness of my room upon check in!

This is a wonderful property, very well kept. Mid to older crowd, staff was great, swim up bar was fun. Excellent bar staff. Great choice of restaurants. Elite Club was well worth it, beautiful views. Even with the loud music right underneath our room, we sat out and watched all of the dancing from our balcony, when we went in the room it was completely quiet. Very sound proof. Beach was perfect, plenty of activities if you want. One of my favorite Riu’s for sure!

I love the private pool attached to our room. I also like that we are elite members that come with many benefits.

Only thing need was upgrade on tv in my room..other than that no complaints

The property is very clean and saff were amazing. They are constantly cleaning all areas the entire day. The Food was good with the exception of the Steakhouse. Steak wasn't tender or season. I had to chew It for a long time and still could not swallow the meat.The Elite dinner was great so was the buffet food and options of food to eat. Dislike - Temperature in my room was a little warm for me. The speed on the celing fan wasn't very high so it didn't help much. A good celing fan would have helped or the temp on the AC need to be lower n July. Finally, I had a late check out until 1:00 PM with my Elite reservation however the room key did not work any more afer 12:00pm. My husband and I went ate breafast and couldn't get back in the room. We went to the front desk 3 times. Derrick kept giving us the same key card. The 4th time I told him we need to get our luggage out of the room and he said it''s now 12:52 and time to check out. It was very upsetting as he knew we had been walking back and forth trying to get in our room and the key wasn't working. Finally I told him he need to send someone with us so we could get our things before we miss our flight. Other then this the rest of the staff were amazing. Entertainment was good and excersion can be caught from the beach.

We had two blackouts and major concerns in our room 6103, issues with outlets to charge our cellphones, and water coming out the bathtubs and sinks, please helps us out to file a complaint and get some compensation for what we went through in our honeymoon.

Bueno en realidad el aire de las habitaciones son malísimas no enfrían después de las 12 de la noche . La diversión en el hotel muy aburrida la verdad no creo q regresaría a mi personalmente me tuvieron q ir a chequear el aire tres veces y las personas q me encontraba en el pasillo o el elevador me decían lo mismo q el aire no enfriaba gracias

The room was extremely moist but clean overall. Front desk staff was at times, a bit rude and not helpful, but it depended on who was on duty.

The resort was beautiful , just wish they would have more variety when it comes to food and the internet was very slow but overall I enjoyed my vacation and would come back

Staff was very friendly although some did not understand English well. Food was average but did not consider folks with dietary needs, however you could always find something to eat. Asian and Italian specialty restaurants were excellent. Steakhouse was below average. Our room was freezing the first night and after having temperature adjusted it was damp for the rest of the stay. Pool and beach availability was very good. Overall a good experience and would recommend the resort.

The lobby staff could have been more welcoming. Seemed like we were an inconvenience to them. The pool area was beautiful but the staff could have been friendlier also. The buffet staff was very nice and welcoming unlike the rest of the staff. TheThe food was mediocre at best. My husband and I did not enjoy the steakhouse at all. The last night of our stay, we had no water in the shower. The last morning of our stay there was no hot water.

Some members of the staff were very attentive and courteous, while others were not as responsive. Upon arrival, there was no bellman available to assist with my luggage, which was disappointing. I also experienced multiple issues with my room during my stay, including repeated problems with the Wi-Fi, television, and room safe. On several occasions, I was asked to come downstairs to resolve issues rather than having someone come to my room to assist, which was inconvenient. At one point, I was locked out of my safe and informed that I would need to wait until 6:00 a.m. for assistance. When I explained that my medication was inside, help was finally provided. The food at the restaurants was satisfactory, though not exceptional, and the room service meals were unfortunately poor in quality. On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed the pool area and met many pleasant guests during my stay. However, I was very uncomfortable that the room lacked a security latch on the door, especially considering that several hotel staff members entered the room during my stay. This made me feel unsafe and detracted from the overall experience.

Spectacular hotel! I especially loved the hospitality of the staff; they do their best to make you feel welcome. The food was delicious and varied, the beach is beautiful, and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The entertainment was great too—I couldn't ask for more. I had everything I needed during my stay; I felt like a queen. Thank you to everyone, especially Marcos in the buffet area and Eliezer and Idaury in the entertainment area. I'll be back soon!

Had a great time at RIU Palace Macao. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was great at Krystal restaurant and the nightly entertainment was fun. I was happily surprised that they decorated our room for my wife’s birthday and they went out of their way to make her feel special. We would definitely be returning.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Staff was awesome! Zaccarias from the front desk was super helpful at check in. We would would definitely go back.

I purchased an Elite room thru Expedia but was checked into an inferior room which costs much less with no explanation from the staff. Only when I was taken to the assigned room did I discover that fact. I went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager, Ceseare who agreed to provide the correct room the following day which he did. He also agreed to process a refund to Expedia for the night stayed. That has not happened yet after two weeks. I emailed the hotel but have not received a response yet. The service at the resort was very good and my wife and I really enjoyed the Elite dining experiences at three of the restaurants. The swim pool was beautiful and my wife loved it. Since they had other pools I didn’t think it was necessary to have the small pool at an extra $150/night. But it made her happy. Lots of drinks and food and top shelf liquor in our room. Love the hotel. I just want the refund promised.

The staff was all very nice with the exception of the gentleman in Destination Services he was very rude.

Hotel staff were great except for people at front desk You would think since they set the first impression there customer service would set the bar but that was not the case very rude and didn't want to answer questions. The rest of staff waiters house keeper everyone was top notch.

We went for my 70th birthday they really surprised me. It was very memorable thanks to a wonderful gentleman at the buffet don't know his full name he said call him Dog which was first part of his name. He is an outstanding person he acknowledged us everytime he saw us. Everyone was very helpful and professional. Thank you Riu Palace Macao

Stayed at RIU Palace Macao with my girlfriend from 4/13-4/16….. had a great time…..the room and facilities were very clean….the staff always very friendly with good vibes….drinks and food were better than expected for an all inclusive….pools not too crowded, clean, and laid back….beach was gorgeous! with peddlers trying to sell you stuff as to be expected in the islands but all very nice ….would absolutely go there again!

Overall, our stay was very nice. We liked that there were many options for restaurants. The Asian restaurant was by far the best - their food & customer service was exceptional. We really liked all the amenities that were available. The beach was beautiful. Rooms were clean. The biggest issue we had was the fact that the staff is not very friendly. This was the majority of the staff. We did encounter a few individuals that were very nice and attentive. The other people made us feel as if we were a burden. We have stayed at other riu hotels in Mexico multiple times and have absolutely enjoyed our stays with them. We were expecting that type of service at this location.

10/10 , beach and resort were amazing

Easy beach access, lots of walking trails to shops and other resorts with our wrists bands with could access All other bars and restaurants.

This is our second time here as we love it. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. My mom loves it as it is not “huge” and everything apart from your room is on one level. The beach is amazing! Will be coming back

Riu Macao In Punta Cana was amazing I loved the different food options. Riu also has 4 different resorts you can walk to and eat and drink at the restaurants on other resorts in Punta Cana. Beautiful view close to the beach also they have swim up bars on the resorts.I will definitely be back to visit again soon.

We completely enjoyed our stay at Riu Palace Macao! The beach is beautiful, pools had plenty of space and food was delicious. We did a snorkeling trip and there were so many other trips offered. I would love to see a Dominican themed restaurant and it would be nice if the bars offered small snacks (chips, nuts, just things to snack on). But 10/10 trip for us.

Amazing trip overall, great food, Asian restaurant was our favourite! Good drinks, friendly staff and Beautiful property!! All amenities are close by and the beach is not far at all either! So much to do here and great that you can access the other Riu properties as well. We will definitely be back, the staff here go above and beyond!

The drinks and food sucked and were made poorly, the service wasn’t great either. There were a small handful of employees that were kind and did have good service. The entertainment by the pool lacked and 90% of the music played is in Spanish. Would have been better if it was a little more mixed. The property was clean and maintained nicely. Overall I wouldn’t ever go back.

Property looks decent. Pools were not as clean as they should be. Food is 2/10 (Not vegan or vegetarian friendly). Entertainers were great. Be cautious with the consumption of water that is not from the water bottle. Experienced food poisoning.

Thr food at that resort made my whole family sick. It was 6 of us there. On the last night of our stay we ate a a restaurant called Krystal and that was the best food we had all week.

Staff was exceptional! The only issue we had was no food after 930pm except for the bar with nasty food with flies flying and landing on the food. Not appetizing!
