We stayed here 3 years ago and loved it. The hotel seemed run down now, one of our beds seemed broken like clearly slanted, pool and hot tub area is falling apart and sauna is broken. The place seemed like no one was staying there until we tried to sleep nosiest hotel ever. Also supposed to be no smoking and between smoke and pot is smelled horrible. Staff was too busy out smoking to ever get help except Pam she was excellent.

Older hotel, clean, updated. The hot tub was kind of old and gross, the breakfast was just ok but, the hotel served it’s purpose and was clean.

Photos of room, pool area, and general areas of hotel completely misaligned with the actual property. Pool photo shows wood wall and ceiling paneling, soft lighting, and lighted pool and hot tub. Reality is blue and white walls, ugly LED lights, and no lights in pool and hot tub. Ordered a suite, but got a 2 queen bed with a sofa sleeper that blocks access to bathroom when in use. Apparently, that’s their idea of a suite at this hotel. Might as well throw a recliner in this room and call it a master suite. What a joke and waste of money.

This stay left a lot to be desired. It can benefit from a lot more effort and care into cleaning. The room showed many cleaning corners cut, the pool and hot tub were very disappointing in their condition. Of all the hotel options in the area, I’m disappointed I choose this one in its current state. Hopefully they will be able to improve to the AmericInn quality most expect.

The pool area needs some more TLC. The pool and whirlpool tiling needs some hand scrubbing and/or fixing. The white paint in the pool area could use another coat. The breakfast is alright. The room was decent. One of the curtains needs some fixing. Beds more good.

The pool was great, my kids loved how warm it was, the hot tub and sauna were amazing! The breakfast in the mornings were the best we've had in a while for a hotel breakfast.

Terrible. Chemicals in the poop bleached our swimsuits, burned the hair of our skin, cause rashes and peeling, and made us feel sick. Then there was no working heat in our room when we were rushing to shower. The general manager was dismissive and blamed us for having “sensitive skin”.

Second time staying at this hotel, first time was 2 years ago a big group of family stayed and it was fine, the location is good pool is standard and the rooms were standard and clean. I don’t know if now they have new ownership, but this hotel has gone downhill. First of all the rug and smell of the hotel is terrible. There was blood spot on the pillow, and in the bathroom floor, along with nails on the counter. We brought it to staff attention whom acted like they didn’t see it, and didn’t act like it was a big deal. The “continental “ breakfast is below mediocre. We had 3 different rooms this current stay, between my family members, and all of our rooms were run down and have a musty dirty feet smell.

Hotel was just ok, was clean, felt safe, bed was comfortable, pillows lumpy but had a damp feeling on the floor. Breakfast selections and nutritional value were minimal. If you are going to offer breakfast have some nutritional value vs. packaged foods that have no nutrition.

It did what we needed but it needs improvements. The pillows are tiny. The TV did not work most of the weekend due to internet connection. Nobody came to refresh our room. The breakfast Saturday morning was terrible. There was no food basically. Cereal with no milk, empty containers of things. Was very disappointing. Location is great though

The staff were very friendly. The hotel was clean. The bed was comfortable, which led to a good night's sleep.There was a microwave, refrigerator, and continental breakfast. The pool looked very nice. We would recommend staying here, and will stay here again.

Mold inside closet, room was damp and smelled damp. Hallway smelled damp. Had to ask for breakfast supplies like napkins and plates. No attendant was keeping up with things and keeping breakfast goods stocked.

We reserved a King size room, but fot a Queen. No offer of a discount. Giant hair blobs in the bathtub. Absolutely disgusting. Breakfast had such a terrible selection.offer cream cheese, but no bread or bagels?? Won't go back.

We had a great stay at the AmericInn in Apple Valley. We had the queen and king suite, which was perfect for our family. It is a standard, small hotel with the basic necessities, and we enjoyed our visit.

Probably the best room layout I’ve ever seen for a family - 2 beds in separate areas with bath in between. Great for families or siblings as the separate bed areas each have their own tv and everyone has a bit more privacy. Will absolutely stay here again. Staff was lovely. Breakfast was good. Very happy with our stay.

The staff at this hotel was very kind and friendly, so it is difficult to say anything negative about our stay. My main disappointment is that the availability of a cot is listed under the hotel amenities, so I booked the room I did, in plans of requesting a cot. When I did request a cot at check in, the desk attendant said, "We don't have cots." Therefore, my son ended up sleeping on the floor. Thank goodness we had brought plenty of pillows and blankets of our own. This hotel is showing its age, with cracks in the tub and cabinets. It is in a nice area though, with many restaurants within walking distance. Overall our stay was fine, but the hotel does not warrant a $179.00/night rate ($200.00 after taxes and fees).

I was a guest on two separate days and had two different rooms for each stay. I had room 316 on Thursday, 9/25/2025 and that room was nice. I had room 110 on Sunday, 9/28/2025 and that room had a broken shower fixture (tray) and the shower drain was also broke.

First off, the STAFF is amazing! All of them from check in to check out. Cleaning staff so friendly and helpful. I had called ahead and they were SUPER helpful on planning our stay for the zoo pumpkin walk regarding what to wear, bring, where to eat. Loved it. Great breakfast. Pool area extremely clean. Highly recommend stay here!

Check-in had me re-evaluating my choice. There was one person in front of me and several behind me at 3:20 (check-in was at 3) and no one at the desk. After 15 minutes I was finally being helped. There was a hockey team of kids in the lobby running around everybody and someone had a large loud barking dog in the lobby. The concierge behind the desk didn’t look at me or welcome me. She asked if I had a reservation and then asked for ID. Then she said just a minute and walked away for about 5 minutes and came back and said our room wasn’t ready. It’ll be another 20 minutes or so. I asked if I got a discount because checkin was at 3. Then the manager came over and said give her a room that’s ready how about 311? Then the girl couldn’t figure out how to give us 311 because she just checked in the person in front of me into 311! So we got 313, right next to the very loud family. Yay. We got in and it was clean and spacious. A little banged up. But it was comfy and so very quiet. I was really surprised and slept so very well. Breakfast was very busy with the kids hockey team there but they kept up with the foods. After a very rough start, it was a good stay.

I was in town for a reunion and the AmericInn was a great base in between events as well as walkable to restaurants, shopping & the local neighborhood. I also appreciated the complimentary breakfast and filtered water. Excellent customer service at the front desk - professional & friendly. Thanks for a great stay. Christine

Pam at the front desk gave me an early check in and a room upgrade when i mentioned i was attending a remebrance for a best friend from third grade. She even gave me walking directions to the American legion 6 blocks away. If she is not the manager I would offer her that position!

Lots of places to eat nearby, within a few blocks. Also a Super Target near the hotel. Free breakfast is always nice. The room wasnt the cleanest but I rated it 4 out of 5 stars. I was given a complimentary upgrade for a room so that the two rooms I booked were on the same floor. That was unexpected and greatly appreciated because the upgrade was a bit larger. The staff were all very nice. There was a problem with my key card on day 2 but I figured it was because I was given the upgrade. The staff fixed the issue quickly so it was fine. All in all I was very happy with my stay and I could see myself booking with them again.

Hotel was located close to the Minnesota Zoo. The lady that checked us in was very nice and friendly. The pool is smaller, but the kids had fun. Breakfast was really good and there were lots of options. Only thing we didn't like was our beds.

If you check in after 11 pm, be prepared to wait a bit as they lock the doors and you have to wait for someone to let you in. The hotel is in the same parking lot as a bar and it was noisy on a Friday night. The room was clean and the shower was GREAT, but the bathroom is very small and the pillows are awful. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. It suited our short stay of one night but I would try to find something a bit better next time.

the hotel is fine. nothing too fancy. its located across the parking lot from a bar and grill thats open until 2am. it gets pretty crazy so if thats what your looking for its a fun place, if not be prepared for a busy somtimes loud parking lot until after 2am

The location was convenient for the Mall of America. It was average clean for an American Inn. I had to get my key cards reprogrammed a couple times. The continental breakfast was often out of food. The lobby cart had flat tires.

The hotel was in a great area close to many options for dining and shopping. Check in and out was fast and easy. The hotel room was nice and beds comfortable. Fridge was actually cold, which seems rare in most hotels. The breakfast was underwhelming, and even at 8am there wasn’t much out. Coffee was good.
