Hilltop Inn Pittsburgh

The room is old, but comfortable. Pillows are very small, but bed is good. Parking lot is full of potholes. I’m glad the hotel is next to a nice convenience store. Check in was quick and the person was very accommodating.

So my stay at the hilltop was very unprofessional and lower than mediocre. When coming to the property there are multiple potholes crater size big. My wife and I got into town early and asked front desk which was unpleasant and not worried about the guest, told us that we were unable to check in early because they were low on cleaners and even the boss was cleaning suites today. When finally checked in our room it was located next to numerous of rooms that seem to be broken into with door that had pad locks on the door to keep them closed. As well as other patrons that were smoking in non-smoking areas. When entering the room. It seems to be uncleaned with stains around the room, the toilet and shower being dirty as well as holes and bubbles all around the wall and ceilings. The property seems to have been bought by a family that seen potential in a quick flip of change with individual that do not care about hygiene or presentation. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay for a couple of days go to the motel 6 because at least they have standards. Do not make the same mistakes as we did. But on the upside there was a cute little Yorke that welcome us in this hell hole.

Room was clean but the carpet was filthy. No bed bugs or roaches like some other reviews. Hidden deposit fee of $100 that wasn't returned until a week later. Parking lot was terrible and full of potholes. There was paint peeling from the door. A/C was ok but could have been cooler. Not used but there was only a space heater if heat was needed. They only gave two towels at the front desk. No tissues in the room and only a tiny bathroom waste bin. No continental breakfast and nowhere to put my key due to early departure so I had to call someone who told me to leave it in the room. Lots of shady characters there. Couldn't get into the vending machine room. No coffee pot in the room. Very close to GetGo.

Motel is a barebones and rough around the edges option for a very very low rate. That being said, the staff make the experience very inviting and try to accomdate you as much as possible. My situation required me to have a microwave and fridge in my room (pre-reserved). Upon showing up, a room wasnt ready with those ameneties, but the staff kindly upgraded the room to a full California King Suite to accomdate my needs with no additional charge. For a cheap lower end room reservation, I would book a room here again. Property has free self parking and morning coffee in the lobby.

for this type of motel it felt safe and quiet and relatively clean. The staff were friendly. The driveway is full of potholes which is annoying. they had trouble programming my key card and it failed me at night when they have nobody immediately on site. However they did come by within 5 minutes when I called. Biggest drawback is that the internet doesn’t work at all, theoretically it exists but none of my devices could connect reliably to it, and when connected they couldn’t access anything. The woman at the desk just said “yeah the internet sucks” i think they shouldn’t even really advertise they have internet.

Pot holes made the parking lot look like a teenager's face. No wifi, even tho it is advirtised. Room had a microwave, but nothing in the immediate area worth bringing anything back to the room. No ice machine.

For the price, it was everything I needed. It was clean, had parking, close to the highway, and even had a fridge and microwave in the room, plus an ice maker in the laundry lobby.

Parking lot needs serious repairs, buildings are showing signs of decay, bathroom tub need to resurfaced, and air conditioning unit needs replacement.

This motel was the worst motel that we have ever stayed at. Our room was dirty, toilet paper holder was broken, outlets had no covers, no kleenexes in the rusty kleenex holder, bathtub was dirty, room stunk and drapes were damp. Also, at some point before our stay, there had been an electrical fire. Overall a terrible experience. We are sure this motel never was inspected. There is no way it would've passed inspection. You will experience a safety, fire and health hazard if you stay here!

We arrived 45 minutes late to the booking, but had to wait for our room to be cleaned once arriving. The room had gummies stuck to the carpet, the bathtub looked as if its never been scrubbed. There was a strong “pee” aroma admitting through the sink. You couldn’t use the microwave & tv at the same time, if the tv even decides to work for you. Our overhead light didn’t work, as-well as one of the bulbs of the only lamp in the room. The doors are only half painted with paint falling off. The lock on our door was even missing. Police circled the hotel multiple times during our stay. We will absolutely not be returning ever. I strongly advise the business to fix their motel up if they want better reviews. The staff wasn’t rude, but they also aren’t welcoming.

The room was super dirty. Luckily I had cleaning supplies in my car. I wiped down counters and it was filthy. Billy’s of food stuck to the walls. And it smelled bad. Bed sheets were clean…

Was very dirty stains all over the carpet, heater did not work, tv would wouldn’t shut off . Towels were dirty and tub was disgusting. Nothing clean but the bed sheets. If you are a single lady alone do not stay here was not a safe environment. Woke in the middle of the night and seen cockroaches. Had to throw my overnight bag away. Horrible smell the whole place stinks and dirty inside and outside. This is the first bad review I have ever given but wanted to warn Anyone thinking of staying here. Pictures of the rooms and place must be very very old.

There were over a dozen roaches spotted during my stay. I caught one to show the landlords, and killed several others. Filthy. TV remotes had punctured batteries in them. The TV only barely worked. The walls and shelving units were all awful. This room was in the worst condition I'd ever seen a room in. The best I can say about this was that I didn't find any bedbugs.

DO NOT stay here. Hotel was filthy, was not cleaned daily, you are responsible for getting your own towels and taking out your own trash. There was so much dirt on the walls that it was clearly visible. Listing says refrigerator and fridge in every room but there was not. Security deposit was kept because on our last day there we did not take out the last bag of trash. If you don’t mind doing the job of housekeeping and don’t mind filth this place is for you. But I highly recommend this place should be condemned and the health department should be called

Do NOT stay here unless you have no other option. We walked in to a non smoking room to a lovely smell of weed. Followed by the greeting of 3 stink bugs around the room. The room looks to maybe have been wiped with a dry rag and MAYBE vacuumed. The back of the building has very VERY limited lighting. The property looks nothing like the pictures. The room looks to be original from when built and not refurbished in the past 30 years. Not to mention that absolutely outrageous neighbors.

Tv didn’t work, plug was damaged , air conditioning didn’t seem to actually kick out cold air , shampoo and soap was very limited, pillows were terrible, property wasn’t 24 hours somebody being there, vending machine room was locked, no refrigerator for food or drinks……would have spent more for a better quality room had I know what I was walking into…..staff was the only positive about my stay

There was no one at the front desk to check is in. Had to ask another pagton to call so we could be helped. There was no air conditioner. yhe one in the room was literally falling apart. There was an old school radiator heater to plug in. They gave you one towel per person at the front desk. There was none of the advertised amenities available.

Booked our stay for four nights. Got there late on the first night. Went out to dinner. Came home. Found that the toilet was not working. Looked in the tank was being held together by a paper clip then went to turn the TV on that did not work and then the bathroom sink faucet spun around and water was dripping out of it. Talk to the manager in the morning when we got up. She was very kind and we checked out & she did refund my money for the rest of the stay.

Disappointed there was no fridge or microwave to heat food or keep food cold on the app it said there was one to be in the room

The room was not secure. It had no safely lock on the door. You could see out into the parking lot around the door frame. The latch just barely closed so that the door could have easily been pushed to open despite the for know being locked. The drapes' curtain rod was hanging off the wall so that the drapes could not be closed. There was only one outlet. The walls were patched but not painted. And the ceiling was peeling so that it was unsanitary to remain there.

We did not even able to check in because there was nobody in the office. They put a sign on the door that they are closed at 9 pm while they mentioned that check in is 3 pm to midnight. We called their office number that’s on google 11.20 pm but nobody picked up the call. We asked for a refund but not confirmed.

We got to the hotel expecting to be able to check-in and go. But, we were told we needed a $100 deposit that would be returned on checkout. Nowhere in the listing did it say a $100 deposit, and if it did, we thought it would be part of the cost of the hotel. The place wasn't even worth what ended up being $158 a night. The shower took forever to heat, there was a hole in the wall that was poorly patched, the shower was rusting, and overall the place stunk of marijuana, despite being a non-smoking facility.

Short staffed. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come check me in. It happens anytime I check in past 9pm.

Stay was good but the desk is not 24 hours. I called a number and lady said that check in ends at 12am but that she would check me in anyway. I was charged for a pre-workout powder stain they said they could not get off marble. I was charged $100.

Booked prior to coming from Ohio, was completely unaware of the $100 deposit fee upon arrival. The rooms was very dirty. The sheets was not changed, the fridge was dirty, the table lamps didn’t work, the water constantly leaked all night, the shower was dirty, the hotel overall doesn’t look welcoming at all. The front desk associate explained that I would be refunding my deposit of $100 (that I was completely unaware of to begin with) would be back on my card by Monday. It is now a week later and I have not received my deposit when the condition of the room was left greater than it was upon arrival. These room shouldn’t even require a deposit due to the conditions they’re already in. I hope they get better housekeeping and it’ll make the experience more enjoyable. I also hope they return the money I gave them for my deposit.

I had been in the middle of relocating and unfortunately recuperating from a stay in the hospital. This staff made me feel welcome, safe, and gave me all the assistance i could have hoped for. This hotel is run professionally, clean, and within reason, provides everything you might need.

Rooms were not clean. Check in was difficult because the door was locked and we had to wait outside in the cold till the lady heard us and opened the door. She was not very welcoming. The staff at the checkout time were nice though.

Huge pot holes throughout the parking lot. I felt very unsafe the whole trip there. It's a stressful location if you're looking for a relaxing spot. Cheap stay, that's for you, but if looking for relaxing don't go here you'll be stressed out the whole time. When I have to come back to the Pittsburgh area I will not be staying here. First night has a guy knock on my door starting fanning out $20s saying my brother called him and wanted the heroin. Again, not safe. Staff was great, just the area is really seedy and made me feel unsafe even before the guy knocked on my door. The police were also very responsive.

Close to airport, great rates

Staying at the HILLTOP INN based on their existing facilities is okay for economic reasons. However, the management of the Hilltop Inn can, in the nearest future, arrange standby transportation to convey people to their place of activities while in Pittsburgh, PA, USA as the present scenario of transportation is not easily achievable!

The snack bar and Deli listed on the website doesn't exist on the Property, however, a GetGo grocery and gas station with hot & cold prepared food and drink is a short walk from the Hilltop Inn.

It was relatively close to PNC Park, but I would never stay there again.

Right by the freeway, gas station in walking distance, quiet and 20 minutes from downtown, nothing fancy but great option if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room for a fair price, I would stay again next time.

Did. It check in. Photos of the property do not accurately represent the current state of the hotel. Upon arrival I felt uneasy about staying at the property with my elderly father as there were windows that were broken, cars on stands and massive pot holes in the car park. Am trying to organise a refund but avoid at all costs

We had no water all night or this morning and also the website said breakfast included only to find out there was none which was inconvenient

Comfy clean bed but the rest was not so good. Bathtub tap was moving around so it was difficult to set to properly water temp. Sink faucet leaked and sprayed mirror. No microwave. Dirty carpet. No wifi. Room phone not working.
