Most interesting night of our lives. Tornado warning at 5am. Most guests headed to the first floor where we stayed in a hallway. There was no real safe place to go. The front desk couple was so nice though and stayed with us. Power went out also. No back up generator.

Friendly staff, quick check-in. Nice snack selection and reception area. Room was a double mini suite. Soft sheets and nice beds. Bathroom sink sprayed water everywhere and was unusable….. and one outlet was partially hanging out. But overall a good stay.

The location for this was not too far off the freeway so conveniently close, but not so close since you’re going to hear the traffic. The breakfast was better than some, they had fresh fruit, and freshly boiled eggs instead of the powdered eggs, but we might hv been the one of 5 people staying there that night. I think the owner’s family lived next door to our room, pretty sure his brother was having breakfast right before we did. Just strange that a hotel is pretty much the only thing on that road and it’s not a well-lit road once you’re past the gas station. Room was clean, bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom was fine, it was clean nice and well supplied. The tech in the room was minimal, not sure if we found a USB port. No mini fridge, which I kinda figured was standard in hotel rooms anymore. Even though we had a great MicroTel experience in Cheyenne, the chain appears to vary by location, so that was a lesson learned. The location has a very professional manager/owner, he was very friendly, and accommodating to whatever we asked or needed. Needs a freshly ground coffee machine at the gas station down the street though, lol.

Located right off the interstate. From the moment that I arrived and throughout my stay. I was met with friendly customer service. The free breakfast had many options to choose from. There were other foods and beverage available for a price. Several vending machines to choose from also. Right down the street was a McDonalds, gas stations and convivence stores.

No one ever at the check in desk. Bathroom was worst I’ve ever seen. I previously stayed at a Microtel in Ann Arbor, MI and it was outstanding! The couple managing the hotel in Iowa has a newborn and definitely isn’t making the business a priority.

Had bad smell in room smelled like mold and mildew. Carpet is stained .bathroom aslo smelled and is need of tile repairs. Ended up in car because of smell was too much. Carpet needs replaced.

The night manager at the front desk was friendly, but that's where my positive comments end. We checked in after Midnight, exhausted, and unpacked in our room. Shortly thereafter, we realized there was a cockroach on the wall. I took a picture of it. We threw our stuff back in our bags and went back to the lobby. The manager had left the desk, so I left my keycard and we left. I didn't really feel like calling after him; I needed to find a clean bed to sleep in, and it wasn't going to be there. I called the customer care line seeking a refund, and they directed me back to Expedia. Expedia reached out for my refund and it was refused. I was shocked at the sight of the roach, and am very disappointed that a refund won't be given even though I have proof that my room wasn't suitable for someone to stay in. Won't be staying in a Microtel again.

The staff were wonderful and the room was acceptable. However, the bathroom floor was visibly dirty (rag picture was from one swipe of the floor) and both the sink and the shower would not drain properly. Standing in backed up shower water is gross and the sink pivot rod was broken so the stopper would not raise.

It was a horrible storm so I pulled over and booked the room online and when I got there, the room was made, but there was three spiders. The bathroom was really dirty. There was urine in the toilet and the bathtub wasn’t clean.

This hotel was just what we needed while in town racing in Knoxville. The only complaint I have is the beds were quite uncomfortable and the bedding needs to be updated and replaced. If you are looking for a clean hotel and nice owners, this is your place.

We had a good nights sleep. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. I had to set the air at 60 to Keep it running. It was a little chilly when I woke up in the morning but comfy under the covers. We will stay here again. Did not eat breakfast so we can’t rate that.

This place was OK to spend the night, and allows you to bring dogs for an extra $20 per pet, but the place definitely needed some attention as far as the bathtub and toilet being worn and gray, tiny thin towels, a lock on the outside door did not work, the traffic noise from the highway close by was very noticeable and, I swear, Sasquatch must have been staying in the room above us with all the clomping going on.And the breakfast left a lot to be desired basically a few cereal options, a couple toast options, bad coffee. We were only there as an overnight on a long drive, so it was tolerable, but absolutely nothing happened to highly recommend this place.

With rooms going for upwards of $300 in Des Moines proper this weekend, we tried expanded our motel search a bit. Nothing fancy or new but all we needed for a quick nights stay. Beds were comfortable, clean and area was safe.

Great find! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Interstate traffic can be a little noisy but can't be helped due to the hotel being so easy to get to from the Interstate. Just plan to run whitenoise before tucking in for the night and you'll have a great night's sleep.

GREAT hotel for the price! Staff was very kind and friendly, room was clean and comfortable. I forgot something in the room and didn’t notice for over 12 hours. When I called to inquire, the gentleman knew exactly what I left and said he’d keep it safe until we returned. When get came back through to pick it up he had it set aside safely with my name on it. Really appreciate that service and honesty!! Will definitely stay here again.

The bathroom door didn't close. There were no tissues or blow dryer. The toilet had not been cleaned. Plants indoors and outdoors were dead. The gentleman behind the counter was accommodating, but never seemed to be there. You had to call to get service.

Had the staff wake me up in the middle of the night because they were talking so loud to each other. They did not care at all that people were trying to sleep. They were talking at a volume as if they were in the middle of a busy bar not a quite hotel.

When we got the hotel, it smelled very heavily of weed and the guy at the front desk was not very helpful. When we got into room itself, it smelled faintly like cigarette smoke. Then around 2:45 in the morning there was drilling and banging on the wall adjacent to our room which woke us up. That said, the hotel was affordable which is always a plus with a last minute booking, and the bed was comfortable.

Ok the stay was good. But the management doesn’t know how to use the credit card system. First he charged me the first night when my friend already paid for it. Instead of giving me a refund he charged a second time. After we we gone I was charged a third time. So 3 times I was charged when it was already paid for. They say they are working on it. What can I do? I won’t be staying there anytime soon.

We were in the area for weekend races. Staff very accommodating as the room was not ready but set us up with room keys for a later check-in. Everything worked out great and breakfast offered a variety of options.

Stayed the night before heading to the airport in the morning. We happened to be staying around the time of the high school state track and field so every hotel was full and we ended up having to stay here. It wasn’t bad at all. It wasn’t amazing by any means but it got the job done. The lady at the front desk was very nice and we didn’t have any issues while staying here. It is right off the highway and finding the road to the hotel is a little difficult but once you find it, it’s nice and easy. Like I said before it isn’t a luxurious hotel or anything but not a bad place to spend a night. Beds were not super comfortable but serviceable. I would stay here again. You’re getting what you pay for.

This was a hotel just off interstate in the middle of cornfields. Was older and it showed in areas in the room. The staff was nice and in general was a well kept facility. There was a McDonalds close by but absolutely nothing else. We chose to leave and find another hotel. It would be good for contractors to stay long term.

The location for this was not too far off the freeway so conveniently close, but not so close since you’re going to hear the traffic. The breakfast was better than some, they had fresh fruit, and freshly boiled eggs instead of the powdered eggs, but we might hv been the one of 5 people staying there that night. I think the owner’s family lived next door to our room, pretty sure his brother was having breakfast right before we did. Just strange that a hotel is pretty much the only thing on that road and it’s not a well-lit road once you’re past the gas station. Room was clean, bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom was fine, it was clean nice and well supplied. The tech in the room was minimal, not sure if we found a USB port. No mini fridge, which I kinda figured was standard in hotel rooms anymore. Even though we had a great MicroTel experience in Cheyenne, the chain appears to vary by location, so that was a lesson learned. The location has a very professional manager/owner, he was very friendly, and accommodating to whatever we asked or needed. Needs a freshly ground coffee machine at the gas station down the street though, lol.

Great find! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Interstate traffic can be a little noisy but can't be helped due to the hotel being so easy to get to from the Interstate. Just plan to run whitenoise before tucking in for the night and you'll have a great night's sleep.

Located right off the interstate. From the moment that I arrived and throughout my stay. I was met with friendly customer service. The free breakfast had many options to choose from. There were other foods and beverage available for a price. Several vending machines to choose from also. Right down the street was a McDonalds, gas stations and convivence stores.

Checkin was quick and easy, attendant very friendly and helpful. Room was clean but very dated and all fixtures and furniture showed wear. Beds were very hard, worn. Bathroom had loose tiles and toilet was loose from floor. Shower head was caked with lime deposits, and quit working when attempting to adjust. Was able to get it to work, but flow was not good. Breakfast was sparse, food stale and fruit not fresh.

This place was OK to spend the night, and allows you to bring dogs for an extra $20 per pet, but the place definitely needed some attention as far as the bathtub and toilet being worn and gray, tiny thin towels, a lock on the outside door did not work, the traffic noise from the highway close by was very noticeable and, I swear, Sasquatch must have been staying in the room above us with all the clomping going on.And the breakfast left a lot to be desired basically a few cereal options, a couple toast options, bad coffee. We were only there as an overnight on a long drive, so it was tolerable, but absolutely nothing happened to highly recommend this place.

Location is a bit remote. Not much around besides gas stations. About a 15-20 minute drive to Altoona which has everything. Hotel is dated and nothing special, but it was clean and did the job as a place to stay. If you’re going to Knoxville raceway it’s about a 45-55 minute drive to get to the track.
