*** FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY *Booked in advance 3 wks- hotel took out the full amount, not a hold but charged the full $ on the date I booked - note on the lobby wall stating no refunds. Booked through expedia, and they were no help with this issue *Outer doors to building dont lock *Very few parking lot lights and property was trashed *Clueless front desk staff *Employee took pic of ID with personal cell phone *No working air conditioning in room or hotel *Queen beds in room were NOT queens- Fulls *Fridge gross n moldy, microwave dirty *No do not disturb sign- they came in regardless and changed out towels n trash *Sheets were stained and didnt fit mattress *Ice machine out of order with parts laying on top * 1 bag of chips in vending machine/pop machine out of order *Free breakfast- cereal *Room was missing light bulbs and no plug ins for the lights in the room *No hangers for closet, moldy iron *Room stunk (At this point, I stopped looking for the negatives about this place. $500 for 3 nights -no refunds. This is a unique place. It's right of the interstate, but quiet except for people letting doors slam. The west door to the building has a broken access, so it's open all night. Staff asked to see my service animal certificate. I told them they were welcome to ask, but I'm not, by law, obligated to show it to them. They them wanted $20 cash. I refused. They relented and they're were no other issues. As far as the room, it was pretty clean and i had no issues. For the money, it's worth the stay.

Under new management and they are struggling. No breakfast, pool and elevator closed, ice machine broken, limited linens and staff didn’t seem to understand what we needed.Their debit/credit machine was not working; required cash payment! Staff very slow in registering guests into their computer system. Hallways and room had cheap laminate flooring. Noted some screens off windows. Staff was friendly and seemed to want our stay to be pleasant. There was hot water for showers, the AC worked well and the beds weren’t too bad.

Trash. I didn’t get a room key and had to be let into my room every time because their was no pool no breakfast (there was a load of moldy bread set out) giant holes in the ceiling no ice machine no vending machine it was just a horrible experience for 150$

They have bed bugs, our toilet was clogged, we couldnt watch our tv until midnight cause the front desk person had to go get a roku from walmart and they vrought it to our room at midnight and they couldnt make a key for our room so we had to stay in the room when we got it or have them let us in witb their master key. It was very clean other than the bedbugs and all the workers were friendly and helpful.

It was ok for us to just sleep the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was pretty dirty the shower curtain and the stainless stuff was covered in soap scum we didn't even shower the room was big and it did have a nice tv and bed the ac worked good. The staff was extremely nice but the parking lot and driveway needs alot of work the reason for the not so great review was the dirty shower a spots of blood on the bathroom wall by the toilet paper holder and the biggest issue was there was no coffee maker and they didnt have any coffee in the lobby every amenities they had were out of order or "under construction". We have stayed at worse but they need to do alot of work for sure and clean a little better the bathrooms anyway. But the staff was amazing.

The check-in was terrible. Had to wait. Nobody at the front desk. There was no other people even there no customers I was only one in there. I got my room in the front desk was at my door three times. Don’t get it then Hour and a half later I see a bedbug and I left they wouldn’t refund the money Will never stay there again horrible

Desk area only place air conditioned, front desk person you could not understand at all, there is no direct phone line to this hotel when you do call it's an offline number in Pennsylvania, we literally walked in room and walked out due to how nasty it was from stained blankets furniture smoke filled and cockroach on floor. I lost $84 out of $252 the pictures are way out dated as well

Room was a king size bed which was decently comfortable. The AC unit in the room, did not work very well to keep me cooled down on the hot days I visited and stayed at Colfax Inn. I went to purchase a box fan to help blow air on me to keep me cooler. It barely worked but was better than nothing.

I couldn't understand the guy at the counter. There was only 1 towel in the room and we had to go find the attendant to find more towels. No breakfast. No ice machine. Tv didn't work

There were windows broken, the smell down the hall was nearly unbearable, no blankets, only sheets, much repair needed in the room, the faucet, the bathroom door handle (don’t get trapped), the fan in the bathroom, etc. The room served it’s purpose.

No pool, no breakfast, no WiFi, the ac unit leaked all over the floor, front desk people were nice but had trouble understanding them, the beds were comfortable, pillows not so much, mini fridge was unplugged. It’s perfect for someone just needing a place to crash for the night.

This property is in dire need of repair. No air in hallways, room had no towels, no soap or shampoo, no kleenex, no where to sit other than the bed. No phn in room to call front desk, internet did not work and no working tv. Ice machine broken. I had prepaid for this and was out the money but they charged me $30 for my small dog. I stayed for only a couple hours and left to go elsewhere! This is a disaster and ripoff!

They have bed bugs, our toilet was clogged, we couldnt watch our tv until midnight cause the front desk person had to go get a roku from walmart and they vrought it to our room at midnight and they couldnt make a key for our room so we had to stay in the room when we got it or have them let us in witb their master key. It was very clean other than the bedbugs and all the workers were friendly and helpful.

We were retouted to another hotel by colfax, we were guaranteed that the accommodations would be the same as we paid for. Big mistake, they sent us an hour further away, no swimming pool, no king bed, no breakfast ammenities. And it was cheaper then what we prepaid for and didint recrive a regund for the difference from colfax.

Would not recommend. We did not stay because they could not provide a room that we could access with a key. The front desk said we would have to leave the door ajar if we left the room. If we did leave the room and locked it, the staff would just crawl through the window. They made it sound like it was easy to do. Contacted Expedia to get my money back and they said they would get back to me in 24 hours, but they have not.

I'm getting tires appropriate rooms with peace and quiet there is plenty of open area around to walk or wander around. 24/7 Phillips gas station across the street with good supplies not to mention bomb chicken on the left side. Little upset that there's no smoking rooms I think there should be. But some redemption is that there's plenty of trees around shade but prepare for strong breezes. This place has the lowest rates in the south side of Iowa with a good access point to new locations. I love the monthly stay option it's totally worth it for a place to crash while traveling. Keep the heart of ColfaxInn alive.

It was ok for us to just sleep the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was pretty dirty the shower curtain and the stainless stuff was covered in soap scum we didn't even shower the room was big and it did have a nice tv and bed the ac worked good. The staff was extremely nice but the parking lot and driveway needs alot of work the reason for the not so great review was the dirty shower a spots of blood on the bathroom wall by the toilet paper holder and the biggest issue was there was no coffee maker and they didnt have any coffee in the lobby every amenities they had were out of order or "under construction". We have stayed at worse but they need to do alot of work for sure and clean a little better the bathrooms anyway. But the staff was amazing.

This is a unique place. It's right of the interstate, but quiet except for people letting doors slam. The west door to the building has a broken access, so it's open all night. Staff asked to see my service animal certificate. I told them they were welcome to ask, but I'm not, by law, obligated to show it to them. They them wanted $20 cash. I refused. They relented and they're were no other issues. As far as the room, it was pretty clean and i had no issues. For the money, it's worth the stay.

Under new management and they are struggling. No breakfast, pool and elevator closed, ice machine broken, limited linens and staff didn’t seem to understand what we needed.Their debit/credit machine was not working; required cash payment! Staff very slow in registering guests into their computer system. Hallways and room had cheap laminate flooring. Noted some screens off windows. Staff was friendly and seemed to want our stay to be pleasant. There was hot water for showers, the AC worked well and the beds weren’t too bad.

Trash. I didn’t get a room key and had to be let into my room every time because their was no pool no breakfast (there was a load of moldy bread set out) giant holes in the ceiling no ice machine no vending machine it was just a horrible experience for 150$

The staff was surprised to have me arriving on the date I came in. They appeared to NOT be taking reservations and online sales were still getting made. Building was being remodeled/under construction?? They're only two rooms available, neither of them had a television or bathroom towels. I arrived around 5:00 p.m. and they had to reset a room so that I had somewhere to sleep. No pool.... no hot tub .....no hot breakfast. They did run to a local retail store and got me towels for the shower. I was grateful.
