Sleep Inn & Suites Gettysburg

This hotel was very run down and worn out. The location was okay. Free breakfast consisted of some mealy apples, sugary yogurt a few slices of bread and some mini muffins. The pool and the fitness center were being used as storage so we’re not open. Our TV did not work and we had to get them to come in and help set it up. Overall, this hotel is not recommended because it’s just in too bad of shape for the price they’re charging.

No functioning pool.

It seemed like they are updating it as there were newer floors, but it was not well-managed. Thankfully, I had wipes with me to clean surfaces as the tub had brown gunk in the corner and the mini-fridge was covered in crumbs and dust. There were sofas on their sides in the hallway, and the room with the pool looked like a hoarder’s house which you could clearly see through the window from the parking lot. Not very reassuring. Breakfast was disappointing, too. The only drinks were a bottle of apple juice and some coffee that somehow looked thick. It has potential, but they need to look at the details they’re missing.

All in all it was an okay hotel. The property has pictures of a pool and the lobby smells of chlorine but there is no pool.

We found stained sheets in the first room. The next room was ok. My reservation stated that there were daily newspapers, not true. The biggest problem was we booked because the hotel had a pool. The pool was closed

Pool is there but is used for storage room. No swimming available. Much nicer and newer options available within five minutes, with pools.

Carper was dirty and spotted. Indoor pool should not be described as such- perhaps a small wadding pool would be a more accurate description! Exercise room had two pieces of equipment- one of which was broken.

Disappointed website still says there's a pool when there isn't.

When you first walk in you are hit with a strong mold smell. Looking at the ceiling you can see water stains and mold that has obviously been just painted over. Carpet was very old and had big stains on it. Then to top it off after I got out of the shower I'm standing next to the sink and a flea jumps on my leg and bites me. I walked it to the front desk and the attendant didn't seem surprised. Which is a shock to me since this hotel is not pet friendly. Would never stay here again.

The first room they gave me hadn’t been cleaned. I understand the housekeeper missed the room; however, not knowing that I thought I was walking in on other people. I was given a different room, and upon walking in, I saw that the carpet was stained throughout, leaving an impression of being dirty, even if it wasn’t. The bathroom smelled bad

Although the hotel was fairly clean, there were some things that stood out that weren't so pleasant. First, when we got to our room, it smelled bad of stale weed smoke and a wet dog. The smell wasn't pleasant at all especially spending al day out in the sun . Secondly, the back stairway by ice machine was nasty! Smelled terribly and dirty. Need to vacuum those steps bro. Lastly, my towels and wash rag were stained with something . They were clean but stained from previous use. FYI just get rid of towels like this please and get some better quality. Bed was comfy ! Don't like to complain at all, but smells and stains I can't do in a hotel.

The first room they gave us there was an empty roll of toilet paper, and the toilet seat was up with urine visible on the bowl. The front desk clerk readily switched us to a new room - one that was probably an upgrade. There were some hairs on the pillows (which were awful), and the hot tub was filthy. The bathroom itself had been cleaned at least. The hot water was not hot enough. One of our towels had holes in it from wear. There was a black trash bag (presumably filled with trash?) sitting in the hallway on the way to our room. The stairwells were not vacuumed, and one had a mysterious liquid substance on one of the landings. The breakfast left a lot to be desired - we went out instead. We will not be back. The only pleasant parts of our stay were the front desk clerk, the upgrades they did to the room (very stylish), and good temperature control.

The location was convenient. The staff was pleasant. The breakfast area was nice. There was NO POOL. And there were cobwebs near the air conditioner and closet area. It was decent for a one night stay.

I was surprised that a Sleep Inn was so worn and dirty from carpets to walls and elevator.

Location was convenient for an overnight stay. Bed was clean and comfortable, and HVAC unit was louder than most, but it worked. The room carpet was obviously old, and showed a lot of staining and appeared dirty. Noticed hair on the floor in the bathroom. Just didn’t give you the feeling cleanliness was a priority in this hotel. Replacing carpets with some laminate flooring would be a huge improvement. Used the small fitness room. Was stuffy and didn’t appear to have been used much… a disconnected tv was on the floor, and I’m guessing the elliptical didn’t get cleaned, so I suggest bringing some wipes and a towel to your workout. It was convenient to have some cold breakfast foods in the morning. Nothing fancy, but it was fine. Overall it was okay… I’d probably give a better rating if the carpet wasn’t so gross in the room.

The white bed cover was covered in what looked like orange cheeto dust fingerprints, although the sheets themselves were clean. The security bolt was broken off the door, like someone had forced their way in at some point. Unfortunately we were so tired after traveling that we made do with what we had. I don't recommend this place.

The room was clean but the place was really run down. The air conditioner didn’t work, the shower curtain rod was broken. Just old needs updating.

Decent, clean place but not good for light sleepers. I could hear the person in the next room snooring and the road noise is pretty loud.

The bed was super comfy

Booked a king room with jetted tub. No tub. Comforter, sheets, and drapes stained. Overall cleanliness was not bad but, was not good either. The premises definitely needs to be maintained better.

Traffic noise was terrible, all night long it was keeping me awake. Except for a few hours between 12 and 4 AM. Other than that most things were satisfactory.

My husband and I are used to staying in economical hotels—he is military and I work in education—so our expectations are always reasonable. However, our stay at the Sleep Inn in Gettysburg fell well below even basic standards. We were upcharged for a jetted tub that was advertised as part of the room, which felt misleading from the start. The hotel sits on a very noisy, busy road, and the traffic noise made it difficult to relax. Inside the room, essentials weren’t maintained. Housekeeping never replenished towels, coffee, or toilet paper, and we ended up using a grocery bag for trash because nothing was refreshed. The refrigerator didn’t function properly and froze all of our food, regardless of how we adjusted the temperature gauge. The breakfast bar was nearly empty, offering little more than toast and apples. We don’t expect luxury, but we do expect honesty, basic upkeep, and a clean, functional room. Unfortunately, this stay missed the mark. We wouldn’t choose this location again unless significant improvements are made.

Very pleasant room, bedding was wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was fine, could have been excellent but there were no forks, no salt. Some road noise but the bed was so comfortable I feel asleep quickly.

Bathroom fan very loud, toilet didn’t flush very well. Staff nice.

We got this for our anniversary and we were very pleased overall with the room, the jetted tub made for a very relaxing time, the room itself was nice for the price we paid and the it was clean, the bed was very comfortable as well! The staff allowed us to have an hour later check out time which was nice! The breakfast was decent for the price however very minimal. The only complaints we did have was the way we were met with lack of concern for our room being 80° at around 10:30 at night and then still remaining unchanged even after having expressed it to the front desk prior to leaving for a little and nothing changed. The air was eventually fixed but the older woman was not very pleasant, approachable, or even kind really about us needing help with the fact it was so hot for hours in our room! Other than that we had a good experience with other staff and our stay over all!

Room was clean and quiet. Staff were attentive (we couldn’t get our TV to work and someone came to help us within 5 minutes of our call to the front desk). Thanks for a great stay!

Poorly staffed, in great need of repairs and a solid cleaning. Tub knobs were falling off and drain was broken off and laying in the tub itself The refrigerator was completely off and warm inside when we arrive. Dirty floors definitely needed clean as did the toilet. It appears only one staff works per shift (which is a concern for both customer service and staff safety) Also was asked to pay cash for stay despite reservation was already paid for via card a month ago - observed another guest being asked to pay cash who then responded they had prepaid via card when they made the reservation. Unsure if this is due to untrained desk staff or attempts to get cash from older guests/ hopefully it is the first scenario. The breakfast consisted of greasy sausage, dry egg patties and bread with some spots of mold. Unfortunately one staff was in charge of the breakfast, front desk and customer complaints. Would recommend staying elsewhere when visiting the Gettysburg area.

Quiet and serene - easy access to shopping - staff are kind and helpful

We have stayed here many times in the past. This weekend we find new management. Breakfast until 9:30-at 8:45 no food left. Boxes of supplies stored in corner of lobby. Checked in, was handed the key cards and clerk walked back into the office.. No info on wifi, breakfast, etc. We had to look for the night clerk. She was always in the computer room and no one at the desk. Grounds were shabby, few plantings and dumpster door was shattered and we had a view of the dumpster from our room. Nasty place now. Very sad. Will never stay here again.

hotel was close to what we wanted to see & do. staff was very friendly & helpful. never heard any noise in hotel but trucks were something else. all in all a nice place.

Just off two more main highways (15 & 30) - minutes from Gettysburg and the antique malls in New Oxford.

Unexpected value for the price. A bit isolated, but not far from downtown and all services. Located next to a busy highway, but noise is not excessive.

Since this was the first time we've visited Gettysburg, we knew nothing about the area. We've had good luck staying in Sleep Inn's before, so we tried this one. Everything about the place outside of our room was fine - close to shopping, relatively close to the visitor's center of the Battlefield Museum and a variety of places to eat. Our only "complaint" is that we stayed in a non-smoking room (maybe all of them are??). When we walked into the room the first time, the door to the bathroom was closed. When my wife opened it, the smell of smoke was VERY noticeable!! In this unit, when you turned the light on for the bathroom, the ceiling ventilating fan automatically came on. We left the light on with the ventilating fan running for over an hour. This helped, but even after our 3rd day in this unit, you could still smell the odor of smoke - not as strong as it was the first day.

Room was clean and staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. Wish there was bagels or something for disc eggs and disc sausages. No juices except orange juice. Amd only fruit was apples.

Overall, the value for the stay and rooms were really good. I felt the rooms were very updated and comfortable. Only major issues are small things such as lobby cleanliness with having cases and clutter visible when entering. Open closets the whole stay with no door. Continental breakfast had good potential but it was not refilled until it was empty and other guests asked multiple times for refill. I like the potential but there are some parts that need smoothed out.

Property was good along with staff. Breakfast could use more hot food options

Hotel was rundown and smelled terrible. The bathroom fan was so loud I couldn't turn on the light without waking everyone on the floor. The A/C worked sporadically. The sink water didn't drain at all and the breakfast was terrible. Minimal stale food, little choices of anything. I've stayed at many Sleep Inn's before...this was the worst by far.

I don’t know how this place gets decent reviews. The doorknob in our bathroom was broken. Breakfast- cold eggs and sausage- not a fluke. This was over several days. Food was put out in the morning with no way to keep it warm. A lot of road noise- but that was drowned out by a noisy refrigerator. Hallways smelled. .
