Comfort Inn & Suites Glenwood Springs On The River

Observed individual sleeping in his truck in the parking lot for hours. Reported to front desk. Parking is extremely limited, even with the underground parking (which did not seem to be secured).

The hotel advertised a pool and there is none. Apparently they have an agreement with the Quality Inn across the parking lot that guests at Comfort Inn can use the pool there, but the person who checked us in did not tell us that, even when our family (including four young kids) came down looking for the pool in our swimsuits. It was another guest who told us we could use the pool across the way. Our key cards did work there to use the pool, but the pool area (again, at the Quality Inn) is in desperate need of upkeep--holes in the ceiling, tiles falling off, etc. Would have chosen a different hotel in Glenwood Springs that actually had a pool. The Comfort Inn is nicely redone, though.

Parking is unbelievably bad! The under ground parking is absolutely horrendous!

It was okay but I felt like the description was a little misleading. The description says it’s on the river. It’s not. It’s across the street from their sister property that is on the river. They also said they have an onsite pool. They don’t. You have to go to the sister property for that as well. I would have paid the extra money had I known they didn’t have everything they claimed to. Overall the room was clean but they also did not clean the room or give us the option to have housekeeping during our stay. That was disappointing.

Not great. The elevator was half torn apart during our stay, the pack n play that they had available was absolutely disgusting, the keys stopped working a couple times a day and they don’t answer the phones. Honestly, stay anywhere else.

Quick check in. The pool was across the two parking lots at Quality Inn. Kinda inconvenient but not terrible.

This is an overpriced budget hotel. The good: comfortable bed. Location was easy to get to and quiet. The bad: A/C was noisy as hell and temp fluctuated, making it hard to sleep. Though reasonably clean, some previous guest items were left behind. Mini-fridge was actually a mini-freezer (everything froze solid overnight). Breakfast was simple/limited; nothing special. Parking is cramped and trucks partially blocked areas. Some remodelling is going on, so obstacles were plentiful. Pool is across the street at a sister property.

Breakfast options were numerous. Check out was 11 AM. The room was very clean and very quiet.

The girl who checked me in was extremely nice. The room was not cleaned very well as we found a pair of men's swimming trunks and a cigarette butte on the balcony. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, not very good.

Very friendly staff and very clean

Both rooms were in were in fairly rough condition and weren't very clean either. Issues with TV not working and other. They had to transfer us into another room as the first room had a clogged toilet from previous guest. Overall very unhappy with cost and stay. Thanks

Cockroaches. Smart tv doesn’t work. They have it blocked from internet. All of the lighting is fluorescent and cold, further giving it a dirty low rent feel

First off, this was an average stay, nothing too bad but a few things that will make us not stay again. Service at the front desk and overall housekeeping was below average in our opinion. We checked in at 4:00 we asked for a crib, the lady said"just call when you need it." Ok we are going to need it now or at 7:30, not sure why we couldnt get it right away. We called after we unloaded at 4:30-got it at 5:00. We noticed the microwave was unplugged so we plugged it in to warm up our toddlers meal. In the middle of the night with the door shut tight it was still humming so loud! We unplugged it. The next morning my toddler discovered semi empty alcohol bottles under the bed. I dont really expect housekeeping to clean under the headboards,but when i ask the front desk to double check and make sure they got them all,I kinda hope they do. In the afternoon we came back to rest for a nap, our room was 79 degrees. We called the front desk for help, we were told "If I see maintenance I will tell them." Thankfully unplugging and replugging the unit worked. When we checked out, we told them about the microwave and a loose curtain, the front desk said thanks and then when back to scrolling on her phone. Again nothing too bad, but things that did make us question our three night stay.

Hotel was very clean with large rooms. Bed very comfortable. Very pleasant stay.

Clean rooms

The room had a very strong nasty smell, like a mixture of sweat, pee and tons of dirty socks. It was absolutely filthy. We got the two bedroom suite with 2 king size beds and kitchen, the stove looked like it had never been cleaned, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the carpet is super stained and worn out, couch looks gross and outdated, I do a full inspection for bugs, thankfully no bugs besides a beetle but the mattresses were super stained and smelled really bad, the tub looked so gross we wouldn’t dare touch it, the bathroom was mostly ok but the floors were dirty. I don’t think the cleaners know how to properly mop. The kitchen sink was also really gross and full of some yellow gunk around the drain. None of us were able to sleep mostly because the dirty feet/sweat smell was so strong it was making the 6 of us nauseas. That hotel is a complete dump and definitely way overpriced. They need to hire some cleaners that actually know how to do their job and they’re in desperate need of renovations!!

We arrived later than expected for check-in but would still expect some parking available and there was not. There of course is the underground parking that appears to double as storage for maybe some remodeling or such they have going on. The first person I spoke to and who checked us in was very nice but as I stepped back and waited for my husband there was another guy behind the desk yelling “Do you need to check in” at me. I didn’t think he was talking to me as I was checking in next to him so you would think he’d be aware of his surroundings but he didn’t stop yelling until I responded. That just seemed unnecessary and unprofessional. As I had time to wait in the lobby I was looking around and noticed how dirty it was. The parking situation, check in interaction and lack of cleanliness of the lobby just set the mood for the rest of our stay. We finally make it to our room and it smells awful, like cleaning only consisted of changing the sheets. I felt cleaner getting right out of the hot springs than showering in that shower. The bed and pillows were not the best either. Next morning rolls around, we had no big plans so we got out of our room at about 9:30. When we asked for the room to be cleaned they said we would of had to ask before 9 am. Maybe that’s common knowledge or written somewhere but why isn’t it stated at check in for guest who are staying more than a night? The tv also didn’t work so that was a bummer. Overall not what we expected for the rating we saw.

Spacious with lovely views.

The mattress was caved in the middle. There was no internet the entire stay. The sheets were too small and didn’t stay on the mattress.

This Comfort Inn was very enjoyable and relaxing. I had a King room to myself and while I didn’t spend much time in the room, I loved that it had a balcony with a mountain view. I also loved the desk. The booking was very easy and I had no problems getting checked in.

The lobby is very clean and nicely decorated. The balcony was a nice touch! The bed could probably stand to be replaced, seeing as how there’s a giant dip in the middle and my husband and I ended up making a pillow mound in the middle just so that we didn’t end up on top of each other.

Very clean, comfortable beds, amazing scenery off the balcony, conveniently located. Highly recommended.

For the price, I did not expect such outstanding rooms! These rooms are all suites (I think!) or maybe just our wing. My sister was on the third floor and we were on the first and both had the same type of room: full kitchen with oven, stove, microwave and fridge; a sitting area and two bedrooms, each with a king size bed. I stayed there with my brother and daughter and the fact that we each had our own room was AMAZING. My room also had a jacuzzi-style tub with jets. This was an amazing value, and one of the more inexpensive options we were looking at! It was a really lovely stay.

Got an upgrade to a double room with a kitchen. The place was very clean and comfortable.

Walls were so thin, we could hear the rooms next door and especially above us. Probably won't be back. Staff was there.

When we arrived for check-in, we were told that Comfort Inn was over booked and they booked us across the street with Quality Inn. Even after confirming the booking, this was a shock for us. They never called us to tell they are over booked. We could have looked for something better. We don’t like Quality Inn and would never book there ourselves. But at last minute we did not have the option to do anything.

Terrible experience. Poor customer service and they do not even have a respect for customer. I was checking in and the the girl upfront walked away leaving me at the counter and had to wait about 10 min to check in . One a checked in. The room stinks.. it was unpleasant experience. Stay away from this hotel

The young lady that checked us in was really nice and helpful!

We had a lovely stay and would have given it 5 stars, if it weren't for the terrible fold-out couch that was literally just springs and impossible to sleep on. The two night staff were WONDERFUL and really helpful, doing everything they could to make it as comfortable as possible with an extra comforter because my daughter was freezing cold. The staff member on the day shift was not interested in assisting us at all and refused to provide an additional blanket unless we paid for it! At what hotel do you pay EXTRA for bed linen??? Thank goodness for the lovely two ladies who worked at night - if not for them, we would not be back. (Which would have been a pity because the room was clean and comfortable, and had everything else we needed.)

There was a problem with our card reader on our door which we had to return to the desk 7 times over a 3 night stay! They never did get it working correctly, but they didn’t switch our room either. We just had to keep going back down for assistance from five different people, including the GM. That is unacceptable. When I told the manager this, he apologized again - great, but … he eventually offered to take $10 a night off the room. Better than nothing, right? But what he actually did was charge my card two more times for the three nights stay!!!! Now I have to get back to them and Visa to deal with that! Ridiculous! Plus, the whole time we were there, water was being pumped out of some basement source into the street - not eco-friendly. Very disenchanted.

Xavier and the rest of the staff was so wonderful! They did everything in their power to make sure we were taken care of!

Got an upgraded room for free simply because my family had a long day traveling and Xavier said they needed the room to get a comfortable night rest. I have never been treated so nice at a hotel!

A woman who check us in 3/19/2015 and check us out 3/20/2025, has no service mind at all , almost give 0 star for service , she did not greet us , she never introduced the hotel and time or anything and ask for my credit card and hand us the key card ! When I ask where to have breakfast, she look at me like I am crazy for asking ! She might need to look for new jobs that not involve any service Hotel is comfortable and very close to places and clean . Breakfast is 6/10

The staff here is so kind and helpful! They made our stay much better and had such great recommendations for things to do around town! The property is clean, inviting, and conveniently located!

Everything was excellent except the highway noise if you are not used to it😀

NOT on the river, but it was clean. Breakfast was a little skimpy. I would have loved a bagel and cream cheese. The room was ok. I had a hard time getting it to a comfortable temp with the wall thermostat. Not sure if it was working. There was pretty easy access to just about everything in the area.

Overall it's a nice property. The staff was ok, the rooms were clean. My only issue was with the air conditioner, it was loud and didn't work all that great. The breakfast only goes until 9:00am. It is a great location near downtown where we had a great meal at the Riviera Supper club.

Quiet location. Clean property. The location is good if you want to be slightly away from the center of town, noise and traffic. Easy access to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

They claim its on the river, Not quite. The Hotel Next to them is actually on the river, this is across the street with no view of a river

This property was recently renovated and the room was great! While we couldn't early check in, I did ask if I could get a room more ADA friendly as my mom is 80. They gave us a nice 2 queen room on the 1st floor and the bathroom had a shower handle. The beds were super comfortable and the room had both a microwave and mini fridge. The free breakfast was decent with a DIY waffle station, eggs, corned beef hash, fruit, juice, bread, yogurt. While not walkable to town, only about a 6-10 min drive. Would stay again

Definitely not a good experience. Cleanliness was good, however our air conditioning didn’t work, room was extremely warm, one of the lights didn’t work, the breakfast was what I expected however to save money they seem to water down the waffle mix so much nobody making waffles could get one, everyone I watched including us had to scrape the waffle off the top and bottom of the waffle maker, no amount of non stick spray helped because the mix was super runny. Wish we would have paid to go elsewhere. Will not return to this hotel.

The refrigerator in our room kept buzzing, I unplugged it because it was annoying next to where you’re sleeping. Breakfast was terrible, the eggs were runny, the waffle dispenser was faulty, the orange juice was colored water. Worst breakfast!

Very good breakfast. Eggs, sausage, waffles yogurt, fresh orange juice, etc. Quiet, even though it’s right off I-70 as are all the hotels in Glenwood Springs. Underground parking was convenient because it was raining/snowing.
