I liked the walk in shower but the bathroom was very cold. There was limited dinning available. Too many add on charges not listed in advance. A $20 per day add on for water, coffee and small boxes of cereal. No one to take your luggage to your room. Parking at $40 per day was four blocks away so the car valet had to walk to get the car.

Staff was clueless. Seemed like college summer job for employees. Restaurant was closed. No continental breakfast as advertised. I asked for a breakfast recommendation nearby. I got a “I dunno.” Valet took 45 mins to park, when car was retrieved I got blocked in behind a bus and a car- another 15 minute delay. I reserved this place bc of the restaurant and the breakfast- they had neither. Oh yeah- none of the movie channeywirked, and there was no internet TV.

Location is great. Beautiful historic building. Poorly managed. The bulk dispensers in the shower were white ceramic. You could not see the levels of soap, and we found out the next morning there was no soap. We had to get soap from the sink dispenser on a wash cloth to shower. Both the sink and shower drains were very slow/clogged. There was a sign in the elevator for happy hour, but when we went to the bar for happy hour were told that signage was old - from during Covid when they had a happy hour. Had discontinued happy hour and not taken down the sign.

Nice hotel with interesting decor. Relatively convenient and accessible. Room was spacious, well-maintained and clean. Staff was helpful. The included breakfast was better than other places we have stayed. The only disappointment was that the lounge was not open on the days we visited so there was a not convenient place to unwind and relax.

The cleanliness of the room could have been a lot better, there was hair in the shower and the carpet needed a good vacuuming. We tried to enjoy a coffee in the outside courtyard but there were several homeless people sleeping on the chairs and benches on the property. The staff didn't seem to be phased by this at all. The bar closed really early even though there was a show at the Preforming Arts, we went elsewhere on foot.

The hotel was great. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Snacks and drinks were always available in the lobby. There was a lack of outlets in the bathroom which made getting ready a little cumbersome at times, but that and parking are our only negatives. Parking is at a remote location (even valet) so that was unfortunate. Luckily the surrounding area was peaceful and there were not too many worries there. We were in walking distance from just about everywhere we wanted to go during our stay, so that was a huge plus. We walked from morning until later at night and never felt unsafe. Highly recommend staying at Hotel Providence!

Stayed here in 2023, and they've definitely refreshed the rooms since then. Modern, comfy bed. Front desk and breakfast are informal. Fitness room should be next for an upgrade (small, no yoga mats, some machines broken). But the location and vibe are great.

Great stay, centrally located, friendly staff, nice coffee/cookie/water/ hot chocolate service 24/7. Nice to have full breakfast included. Gym was adequate, room was spacious, bathroom was fine, water was very slow to get hot, but otherwise it was all a nice place to stay and would stay again.

Dirty rooms. Out of 6 towels, 4 had stains and one had hair. The bathroom was dusty and had long black hair. The front desk staff upon check in was not welcoming, brother was the valet. There is a homeless encampment right outside of the hotel and at night they occupy both sides of the street. What was advertised as continental breakfast, turned out to be Otis S. muffins and Nature Valley granola bars. Very sad. Definitely not a 4-star hotel that Expedia advertised.

The hotel is very old looking. The curtain in the bathroom was filthy and the beds were terrible. Staff was nice and it was a great touch being able to get waters or sodas at any time from the front desk. Quick walk to Providence Performing Arts Center. The morning continental breakfast was pretty bad - hot sandwiches and tater tots were in individual paper bags with grease completely soaked through and the pastries were cold and hard. For the price, it was definitely not worth it and won't be returning.

Our hotel room was dirty. There were stains on the box spring cover, one of which appeared to be blood. Dust on the shades & cobwebs on the ceiling. I called the front desk and was told the manager was no longer there and to call in the morning. We went to the restaurant for dinner and after we were seated, no one ever came to take our order or even offer us drinks. However, we watched as multiple tables, who had been seated after us, were greeted and placed their orders. I understand the restaurant was busy and very clearly understaffed, but we did not receive an apology and the waiter could not have been more rude when we finally decided to get up and leave. We waited almost 30 minutes. Very disappointing.

The double room had a lovely little living room, very elegantly appointed, and a separate room with two double beds. Very clean and comfortable. Old-fashioned elegance. The bathroom was spacious and had everything we needed. This hotel is in great proximity to lots of restaurants and shops. It is a two-minute walk from the Providence Performing Arts Center.

Hotel is located in what was the heart of the city and is from a bygone error. Lobby has character with oil paintings and Persian carpets. The room is clean well appointed, and spacious. The room did have a musty odor reminiscent of an antique store. The front desk staff were professional but seemed sad and not into hospitality or making any effort. Valet guys were very friendly, my guess is they work for tips.

Beautiful building and decor. Very comfortable with an elevated atmosphere. I will stay here again. I was very impressed with the suite I stayed in. Very spacious and beautiful, with a big shower and separate jet tub. The bed was very comfortable. The building has a historic feel, that's up kept beautifully.

The hotel is located where there is many different activities and “action”. When arriving, we were greeted by homeless people. I definitely made me uncomfortable to stay. Especially at night, it felt like a night hotel in the hood The kicker! My partner and I came to RI for one day to relax and explore. When we tried to close the curtains, it seemed stuck. We called front desk to told them the situation, the young lady said “oh yeah. They don’t close. A lot of people complain about it”. So, people complain about this and you don’t fix it??? It’s like they want you to leave and wake up when the sun rises, but check out is at 12…? i tried my best to shut the lights out. I was so heated!

The area around the hotel is very nice and safe with plenty of restaurants and walkable. The hotel itself is out dated. We were at the 4th floor of Westminster tower, the room interior is old. Bathroom shower door doesn’t seal, a lot of water on the floor after one shower. Also, the two windows we have are facing a wall only a few feet in front of us, basically no view at all.

The Wi-Fi on the seventh floor did not work very well, the young man at the front desk during the day was not very nice or accommodating, and on the third day in the hotel the person across the hall was smoking marijuana in their room, which lingered into my room.

We picked this hotel because it was older and classic looking. The location is pretty close to the main downtown of Providence and the rate wasn't too bad during Brown University's parents weekend. We heard, after our room was booked, that there are homeless people directly outside the hotel. When we arrived, we did see homeless people near the hotel sidewalk and across the street. We learned the church across the street had a soup kitchen and that's why there were homeless people there all the time. They were smoking, a bit loud and we actually saw one person smoking what looked like a crack pipe. We had to walk through them once and that wasn't fun. No one solicited us which was good. Friday night, we learned the hard way that it's a pet friendly hotel because the people across the hallway went out late and left their dog in the house who kept barking at any sound. We called the front desk and the young man wasn't helpful. He said the manager wasn't on duty and gave us 2 different times when the manager would be back the next day. We asked if he could call the people to let them know about their dog and he said he didn't have their phone number. We went to speak with him directly and he wasn't any more helpful. After we left, we called 6 more times and left 2 voicemails for the manager without a return call. We put a complaint into Visa for a 1 night room reimbursement which they'll do if they don't give us a refund. Waiting to see what happens. Don't go to this hotel!

I reserved this place bc of the restaurant and the breakfast- they had neither. Oh yeah- none of the movie channeywirked, and there was no internet TV.

I wish I had gotten her name but there is a very nice lady with amazing eyelashes working nights who checked me in and was stellar but saw her a few other times and she was always soooo nice! Please put this in her record for review time and give her whatever she wants (raise, better days...whatever!). Sketchy location and poorly trained staff. On the street that the hotel is on, there are groups of homeless sleeping. We arrived at 3 for a 4 pm check in and were told it was too early to check in- it was policy, despite the fact that the reception area was empty. We had requested a handicapped accessible room because it was larger, but when checking in, the clerk looked at us and asked us if we really needed a handicapped room. We then were placed in a miniscule room. There was little storage and only two hangers in the closet. We were gone most of the following day and when we returned at 4 the room was not made up. We asked that the room be made up and were told that the staff was too busy and they were not sure when they would get to it. Housekeeping arrived at 6 as we were getting ready for dinner and we told them just to give us fresh towels. The next morning we went to breakfast at the hotel (which was pretty good) and arrived to find the room made up before we showered. That meant no clean towels for the next day. When we checked out, they were unable to provide a receipt as the printer was broken. they did not bother asking how our stay was. I contacted Wyndham hotels and they said that they were sorry about the circumstances, but the hotel was independently owned and we should contact them directly.

Staffing, location ( deceiving on map ) & overall customer service is a zero. Important / detrimental meds were locked in the safe in my room for over 12 hours because it malfunctioned & they couldn’t help me until the AM. My ID was in the safe so the manager ( use that term loosely ) wouldn’t opened it until 4 COPS showed up. Mind you I’m a military contractor & over a military ID. Worst hotel in Providence.

Checking to in was very fast. Ms. Jade helped me at check-in. She was very welcoming, very professional and took just 10 min to complete my check-in. All staff at reception were wonderful, welcoming with great smile. The room was very quiet, clean and tidy at all time. I slept like a baby in my stay for 5 nights. The cleaning staff are very nice, kind, organized and you will not hear them when they are working and cleaning. Every day there will be fresh fruit/apple juice, delicious cookies, and coffee at the lobby, just serve yourself complementary. The hotel is surrounded with transit/bus stops, few steps from the place mall, convention center, and providence train station. There are many restaurants suit all tastes and there is vault market and grocery store few steps which serves hot international cuisine as well by weight. Providence is a marvelous city and people are very helpful and welcoming.

The hotel was great. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Snacks and drinks were always available in the lobby. There was a lack of outlets in the bathroom which made getting ready a little cumbersome at times, but that and parking are our only negatives. Parking is at a remote location (even valet) so that was unfortunate. Luckily the surrounding area was peaceful and there were not too many worries there. We were in walking distance from just about everywhere we wanted to go during our stay, so that was a huge plus. We walked from morning until later at night and never felt unsafe. Highly recommend staying at Hotel Providence!

The Wi-Fi on the seventh floor did not work very well, the young man at the front desk during the day was not very nice or accommodating, and on the third day in the hotel the person across the hall was smoking marijuana in their room, which lingered into my room.

The double room had a lovely little living room, very elegantly appointed, and a separate room with two double beds. Very clean and comfortable. Old-fashioned elegance. The bathroom was spacious and had everything we needed. This hotel is in great proximity to lots of restaurants and shops. It is a two-minute walk from the Providence Performing Arts Center.

Hotel Providence is a beautiful hotel in itself. Its downfall is the location. Its in the middle of the city. Valet parking is $40 a day which was not mentioned anywhere when it was booked. Other parking options are two parking garages about a block away. Only one is overnight parking which ranged from $35-$62. The other downfall of the hotels location is its placed across the street from a church which feeds/helps homeless people. One the same side of the street is a place for recovering addicts. There is nothing wrong with these places however walking to your vehicle or walking away from the hotel can be intimidating at times. We were asked for money everytime we left the hotel. There is also no security in the hotel allowing anyone to walk into the hotel. Not even a card swipe outside to let guests only in. Valet and Front Desk staff were very helpful and polite

Beautiful “old world” hotel with a quaint European flair. Loved the antique furniture, marble floors and ample guest rooms. Walking distance to Federal Hill, as well as to many nice shops and restaurants. The beds were very comfy. Only downer were the vagrants that camp out on the sidewalk right in front of the hotel.

The hotel was great! In a great location and many attractions nearby. Only negative side to the hotel was that the street was filled with homeless groups constantly. They don’t bother you, but it made my significant other very uncomfortable, and you had to basically had to walk in the middle of the road to avoid them on both sides. Not much the hotel can do about it, but it is right upon leaving the hotel. The rooms are very clean, and have a vintage feel to them. I must state again that the location is great and you’re near so many great restaurants and bars if that’s what you’re into! I would stay there again for sure. If only they could fix the problem with the lingering folks outside. Staff is great and very accommodating as well.

Mathewson Street Church is right across the street and provides meals to the unhoused, 99% of the time has no incidents but can get a little noisy and rough at night. That being said, it's an incredibly convenient location just off of Westminster Street and a nice walk anywhere throughout Downcity (incl. Jewelry Dist. and bridge to East Side). I live in Providence so I don't usually stay at hotels, but this is a pretty good option.

LOVE the hotel — beautiful inside, extremely friendly staff, lovely room. The lobby is filled with amazing antiques and artwork, with a gallery guide for those interested in such things. I was worried about parking, but there is a paid parking lot directly across the street with $25 overnight/24 hours parking — which is less costly than the hotel's own valet parking. It's within walking distance of everything in downtown Providence, and if you get on the seventh floor the view is amazing. The bathroom, shower, tub, and fixtures are all gorgeous. Really beautiful hotel. The only disappointment is that the hotel restaurant/bar is only open from 8am to noon, which meant we didn't get to enjoy it at all during our stay. I had been looking forward to a drink at the bar after check-in, but alas it was not to be. All the same, we will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in Providence!

Dirty rooms. Out of 6 towels, 4 had stains and one had hair. The bathroom was dusty and had long black hair. The front desk staff upon check in was not welcoming, brother was the valet. There is a homeless encampment right outside of the hotel and at night they occupy both sides of the street. What was advertised as continental breakfast, turned out to be Otis S. muffins and Nature Valley granola bars. Very sad. Definitely not a 4-star hotel that Expedia advertised.

Nice hotel with interesting decor. Relatively convenient and accessible. Room was spacious, well-maintained and clean. Staff was helpful. The included breakfast was better than other places we have stayed. The only disappointment was that the lounge was not open on the days we visited so there was a not convenient place to unwind and relax.

We so enjoyed being right downtown Providence. The hotel was great. It was clean and the staff was wonderful. Especially the staff in the breakfast area. The breakfast was probably the best complementary breakfast I have ever had

The hotel is very old looking. The curtain in the bathroom was filthy and the beds were terrible. Staff was nice and it was a great touch being able to get waters or sodas at any time from the front desk. Quick walk to Providence Performing Arts Center. The morning continental breakfast was pretty bad - hot sandwiches and tater tots were in individual paper bags with grease completely soaked through and the pastries were cold and hard. For the price, it was definitely not worth it and won't be returning.

I thought the Hotel was good, and convenient to many places and all walking distance. Hotel breakfast was ok the bar in the evening was not available that was a disappointment, the Saturday we stayed it was a private event, understandable, but Sunday it wasn't open. Some buildings in the area where run down, but overall I enjoyed my stay and would go back again.

Had a small fridge and a coffee maker very basic. They offered a continental breakfast and a regular breakfast lunch and dinner service on certain days. I didn't get to either breakfast because my concert was in Foxborogh. I flew in and out of Boston Logan really far away from Foxborogh and Providence. Hotel, uber and lyft rates are better in Providence a college town location.

The tile was broken in the elevator in several pieces and was a tripping hazard . The room was small with just a desk chair to sit in beside the bed. Lobby needs an update chairs and sofas where saggy. The lobby needs updated . Valet parking was slow and cost $45 to park per day. Definitely will pick a different place to stay the next time unfortunately. Buyer beware!
