We planned a short getaway to Friday Harbor with our two small children. I booked the room with the garden terrace not quite knowing what to expect. WOW! Although we felt a little awkward with the kids (most people staying there at the time did not have kids), we were very warmly welcomed by the staff. The garden terrace rooms led right outside the the lawn, views of the ferries, and fire pits. We were able to get the kids asleep and step outside to enjoy a drink and the fires both nights. We regretfully did not eat dinner at the restaurant at Friday Harbor House (no menu options that seemed feasible for a picky toddler), but we did enjoy a delicious breakfast. The room and amenities were excellent. I enjoyed my first experience making coffee with a Chemex, and I appreciated the bottles of wine available for purchase just inside the room. If we had not brought the kids with us, I could have happily spent the whole time at the hotel enjoying the views. For those with kids, the grocery store is just down the street, the whale museum is next door, and there are multiple coffee shops and ice cream places a stone's throw away. I can't wait to come back here again!

Friday Harbor House was a great place for the two of us to retreat to after exploring the island and bioluminescent kayaking with Discovery Sea Kayaks. The location is incredibly convenient to walk to everything in town and from the ferry (it is up a small hill). The hotel staff was incredibly kind and had great customer service! The room was clean, the bed is comfy, and the views from the garden and harbor rooms are breathtaking. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the wood Adirondack chairs by the outdoor fire pits. For a trip at the end of September, the fireplaces in the room were an added bonus. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. We will be staying here again!

Was in room 26 above the kitchen and restaurant... we spoke to the manager and was told this room is filled last due to the noise ... we checked in at just after 1pm hours before check in and there were many rooms empty at the time of check in so filling the room last i don't believe . We checked in the same time as our family we were staying with and they were in room 32 which is 3rd floor and away from the kitchen for The same price i don't think thats fair to charge the same . We have a 1 year old Daughter and she was kept up late due to the kitchen staff cleaning until after 10pm banging plates and blasting music. This is an overall beautiful place to stay but our room experience was not what we expected when our family paid the same and had a far better experience

Be aware, at the time that we were there (May 19-20, 2023) they not only required reservations for – get this – breakfast! – but failed to tell us we needed them. It was a gorgeous day and without a reservation they would only seat us inside. Thanks to the perseverance of a delightful waitress named Jamie who went to bat for us that we were able to sit outside. Thank you Jamie! You deserve a raise!

My stay was fabulous! The staff was great and they were very accommodating. Breakfast was good coffee excellent. Dinner not so much. I had the Halibut. It was stinky dry and nothing exceptional. I would not recommend it. There are other great restaurants that I would choose.
