Stayed 4 nights

Had a 4 night stay at The City Hotel, was not disappointed. Had a superior twin room which was small but comfortable. On suite was good with large shower area and water always hot.Breakfast was more than adequate with a good selection of food. Remember that this is 3 star, don't expect luxurious accomadation. It is very close to the station and a 15 to 20 minute walk to the city centre bars and restaurants..I would certainly use this hotel if I return to Amsterdam. Give the Pollux Cafe a try 50 yards towards the station great beers.

Stayed 3 nights

They gave us a dirty room when we checked in and when we came back to complain they just gave us another room which was small and tucked in which didn’t compare with the one we paid for, also charged an abusive fee for such a lousy service.

Room A03 is not good for tall ppl like me,banged my head few times at first but that's Amsterdam?! ,but still cosy though and doable. Lovely bed and the pillow haha, great kettle and free coffee and tea also sugars, creamers, also a mug/spoon.Good TV channels, lots of films etc on everyday. Nice little window that opens wide open ! but not great view, unless you look up at the sky.Lovely stylish bathroom but need to duck down near sink, but not in the shower. The tap water is drinkerble/safe too.you need to crawl over bed or walk through slight gap towards kettle area lol.big good wardrobe too.room has great lighting for a small low room aswell. The toilet flushes great haha, too.hotel is in great area... Canals near by and bars, restaurants, lovely walkerble areas near the brunch sandwich bar, down the side.
