Nice hotel. Definitely not fancy but definitely enough. Pool is beautiful. The rooms are big, is convenient to our family. Breakfast options were good again not a lot but enough. Stayed there before, will stay there again. The staff is wonderful.

Honestly I did not anticipate much for the cost but the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast could’ve had more options other than bagel/toast, waffles, cereal and yogurt. Juice machine was broken and other beverages were being sold at a cash only option (not very practical in these days) nonetheless it was a short trip and it sufficed. The pool was very clean and patio furniture looked all brand new. Overall the staff was great and whoever cleans deserves a raise because the room smelled great and was extremely cleaned!

I was very impressed with this hotel. First and foremost the room was very clean and everything was in proper working order. I love the mid-century decor, a real throwback to HoJo’s origins. Pool was clean, though maybe s little too warm for my taste. A pool should be refreshing, not like bath water. But with a small pool in the glaring Florida sun, the water temperature will naturally rise in the summer. I enjoyed the stay so much that I went back the following week. Oh, and the price was extremely reasonable in my opinion. I’ve stayed in a few pretty awful hotels over the years that cost considerably more than what I paid per night at this Howard Johnson’s.

We found Howard Johnson at US 19 and 580 in Dunedin to be and average motel, clean and with good service. Except for our last night it was quiet. The breakfast was satisfactory and offered some limited hot items. We were surprised by the presence of a guest coin-op laundry. Our room was larger than anticipated and included limited kitchen and a useful area for prep and eating. On the down side, the plastic chairs and lack of comfortable seating. The location is convenient to Countryside Mall, several places to eat, and right by a highway intersection that offers an easy way to get around.

Decorated in mid-century K-Mart. Desperately in need of updating. Construction around made it difficult to even find the hotel. Noise from US-19 makes this entirely unsuitable for a hotel. I won't make that mistake again.

Was not pleased with the odor of the room. Musty smell. Headboard was not attached to one of the beds. The mini fridge was super mini. Microwave was very small. Towels had stains in them. Floors were filthy. Cabinets were screwed shut in bathroom.

Room was filthy. Photos are the wet floor by the bathroom, dirt on the table surface, dead insect on the bedside table, the small lizard on the floor, and the wad of human hair in the bed. They gave me another room, but wow! Coffee dispenser was broken. The place smelled like beer. The actual two rooms I saw looked nothing like the online pictures.

The rooms were dirty. There were stains on the walls that could have easily been wiped off, the bathtub had stains and around the bottom of the toilet was filthy. We wore our flip flops in the shower! The towels were rough and it hurt to dry off with them. We went to Target and bought cheap beach towels to use instead. We had to ask at the desk for hand towels and a bath mat. The floors were tile but the room chairs were metal so every time someone in the room above us moved a chair, the noise was terrible!!! The waffle maker worked!!

It was not very clean. Feet where dirty when walked on the floor after a shower. Had to walk around in shoes. Dust on the shelves where my fisnce put his clothes. They never made the bed. Towels where so worn out. Wouldn’t stay again.

Room had mold on bedding, lamp and ceiling. Room had an overall damp feeling. Clothes and towels never dried. Condensation constantly on the table. Front desk did offer to change but the 2nd room had a bad smell upon entering, so I just stayed. But should've changed because I was never able to really get "comfortable" (stayed 3 nights). Following morning My son had bug bites, not sure if it was bed bugs, it could've very well just been a mosquito. Either way, not fun trying to keep a 5 year old from scratching. I ended up having a few bites the next day, but again could've just been a mosquito in the room. Fridge and microwave was a plus. Pool looked refreshing, but didn't get a chance to experience. Staff was nice and everyone was always working.

It was not clean at all. The floor was so dirty that my foot was black. The tub was not cleaned and the filter in the bathroom wasn’t cleaned either. There were cigarette buds on the floor and I was in a non-smoking room.

Rooms were dirty, had to ask for our floor to be mopped as it was disgustingly dirty, towels were completely thread bare and only had two in our room. When we asked a maid for two more her response was that she would have to contact the office for permission to do so. Are you kidding me? Also has roaches in the room, thank goodness we were only there in the evenings. Don’t waste your money on this facility!

Its definitely a motel, and not a hotel. The entire establhmemt felt old, dingy, and well past time for renovation. The bed was very firm with 3 very small mismatched pillows on a king. There were things and stains all over the walls that i refused to further investigate. There were gaps in the flooring of the bathroom. The shower curtain was stained and ripped. The desk area was peeling and stained. The good points: the ac was nice and cold. The sheets and bedding appeared cleaned. The shower itself although very old with mismatched tile was clean and the water pressure was nice.

This property was actually nicer than we expected. Rooms appear to have recently been renovated and are quite roomy. Large work / eating table (would easily seat 4 people. The ONLY thing that was little inconvenient is no coffee makers in the rooms. They do offer a breakfast in the lobby, so it was easy to get coffee.

First time I have stayed in a hotel that didn't have any type of coffee maker in the room. Breakfast room is very small and on our first morning there was no bread or bagels. Last time I stay at a Howard Johnsons or any Wyndham property.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The room I had was nice and cool when I walked in and there weren’t any off putting smells. Staff was polite and helpful. They sent an email to me asking what time I would be leaving so house keeping doesn’t come and knock on your door while you’re still sleeping or getting ready. Though it wasn’t cosmetically perfect I’d definitely stay there again for the price and comfort.

The first room had a baby cockroach on the wall and when going down to the office to ask Gretchen for bug spray after being reprimanded we were told there was no but spray. So we switched room 's and Gretchen was EXTREMELY RUDE about this and told me if I had a problem with the next room then I needed to leave and that this is not the place for me. The rudest thing to say to a paying customer. The new room has a lot of ghost ants over by the microwave and I must have killed over 30. Bottom line is I will take my money elsewhere and I will not be staying at this motel ever again. However I did meet the housekeeper named Bonnie and she is very sweet and should be replacing Gretchen because Gretchen has some very horrible , very unprofessional PR skills to be in that position. That's all

For the price, this was an excellent value. Room had been partially remodeled and was large and comfortable. Nice amenities with a fridge, sink, microwave and plenty of counter space. Next to a busy highway, but the noise was not bad. Close to Dunedin but not walkable.

The hotel itself would have been fine considering the comfort and cleanliness of the room and the ladies at the front desk were nice. However, it is located in a bad area. Drug deals and uncomfortable characters hanging out in the parking lot. They even had a homeless person arrested for taking a bath in the pool. We felt uncomfortable and left a night earlier. Also being so close to the highway and road work, it was kinda noisy.

Location is convenient to get to Clearwater area towns, beach and other attractions. I suggest you don't get a room facing the road, as the road noise is excessive (sirens, loud cars and trucks). Breakfast is very limited. Biscuits and gravy, bagels to toast, a few containers of yogurt, cold cereal. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. Cleaning crew we interfaced with didn't speak or understand English.

The hotel was on a busy road that is currently under construction so it's a bit of an eyesore. However, the room was clean and it had ample space for 3 of us. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful when we asked for eateries in the area. A bit overpriced but I guess it's based on its location. We only needed it for one night and it was fine. At least we got some rest.

Nice hotel for the price, the room was clean and the hotel is in a good location right off Us 19. Shopping mall and restaurants all around. Staff was friendly. $100 deposit returned promptly without issue.

Was passing through and needed a stop on my way Hotel had a Nice staff but Located on a very busy road and pretty loud Property is old and long overdue for a renovation… when place gets this old it’s hard to tell if it’s run down or dirty…likely only stay again if I could not find a newer property in the area

The motel was clean and I didn't see welfare recipients staying there, which is sometimes concerning. The only negative for me was that it was hectic on route 19 there and you can only go south when exiting the motel on 19.

We really enjoy staying here. It’s our 3rd time and we love it. However, we were disappointed in the breakfast. When we first started coming we had hot breakfast. Every year it has changed. The selections are slim and not very appealing. I wish they could have pastries, sausage to go with the waffles. Just a little better variety.

Lobby was in need of paint. Room was clean. Did not get fresh towels each day. Very poor breakfast choices. Had a sign threatening to ban breakfast privileges if food was not eaten there. Coffee was fine. Surprisingly no orange juice was offered. It was ok to stay there but I would not come again.

It’s an older property that has been updated. If you looking for a place to crash and enjoy Tampa this is your place. If you are expecting a 5 star location and experience you have other choices in Clearwater. For the value it works. Breakfast is a bit light in choices but works.

I have to say the front desk employees were wonderful. They had to deal with a lot of chaos thrown at them with an incoming hurricane to Florida. I was however disappointed with the owner not willing to accommodate any sort of breakfast with the possibilities of there being no power. When your guests are expecting a meal with their stay, we understand you can’t predict a hurricane but a cold breakfast could’ve been an option. Or at least if you’re going to say you can’t accommodate then offer a voucher or money back on their stay. I felt awful for the employees having to take the blow for their decision to not provide ANYTHING to their guests. Overall I wish I would’ve been notified that there was in deed breakfast once they got an all clear the safety of the hurricane was no longer a threat. I had to call down to see if there were any changes. The hotel was great for what we needed from it. A place to sleep.

Booked this hotel for one night. Room interior was a blast from the past, looked just like one the Jetsons would have stayed in! Room was clean and spacious, with 2 chairs and table and even a small kitchen area with a separate sink. Bathroom was vintage also although drains in the tub and sink were both missing stoppers. Breakfast was included, which had scrambled eggs and sausage in addition to waffles! Yum! Desk clerk was very friendly as well. Thanks!
