Holiday Inn Express & Suites Laurel by IHG

I like that the two ladies working the desk on evening shift were so very helpful and kind when we encountered a small medical situation. The lady who handled the breakfast every morning was also very kind, and kept the serving containers well stocked. Food was delicious. Disappointed that the hot tub was not available, but not enough so that we would not come back. We enjoyed our stay, and will stay again when we come back to Laurel.

Shower had rust stains and clear cracks. Door was not flush with frame and showed light. Elevator car 2 did not always work.

This hotel proved to be the perfect stay for our geneology quest in the area. We were very comfortable and were located right on the main roads. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good breakfast every morning and cookies for the afternoon return. There is a nice fitness room and a great indoor pool. We were there one week and will stay again when we return.

Room was ok except coffeemaker didn't work, shower door was off and wouldn't close. Pool had issues everyone had red eyes and skin irritations. From what we were told by other people after swimming is that they had complained the night before (Friday) and we didn't swim until Saturday evening. After we complained they said they closed the pool. Lots of issues with the kids and their eyes I'm glad we didn't have to play softball on Sunday because several of the kids wouldn't have been able to play.

Front desk was nice. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean for the most part. Key card side doors to the building were permanently locked so everyone has to walk all the way around to the front of the building to get inside. One elevator was not functioning which caused lines to form when trying to use the elevator (it was Memorial Day weekend so hotel was full).

Pool was being maintenenced and was not advertised that would be down. I even called ahead and asked prior to booking if indoor pool was in service and was told yes. When i arrived it had been down when i called.

This property is fine. Elevators wreak of bad cigarette smell, and water in bathroom sink tastes of weird chemicals.

Room was nice and spacious. Only one elevator was working so a lot of people were taking the stairs. There is only ONE washer and dryer for the whole hotel. When we are traveling for baseball, you need these services and having only one of each meant we were up until 1am trying to take turns to use it. My other review is in regards to breakfast. One morning it was great, the next not so much. What kids eat egg white inlets with veggies?? No one and when you are playing ball you need protein. Adding scrambled eggs or do the cheese omelet every morning would be nice.

The place is clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. However, the walls are paper thin and we heard everything going on in the next room...all night long. The pool was also "closed for cleaning" the entire two and a half days we were there.

Multiple giant leak stains on the ceiling was the first thing we noticed. Then started hearing a fire alarm. But not in our room had to walk out in hallway to hear it. Had to hurry up and get outside. Then when asked for more towels at 3pm was told wouldn’t have anymore until the next morning. Shower was not clean. There was a used wash cloth in the shower when we got there. Dirty and stained sinks. Light switch had stains that could’ve been wipe off. Yellow spot on comforter. On one side of the comforter it was ripping and separating apart. The smell of chlorine at the pool was insane. Had to let conditioner sit in my child’s hair for 30 minutes. I honestly have not stayed in a worse place. I was actually really surprised and had high hopes for this location, but it disappointed big time!

The floors was really dirty and bathroom was not clean. The breakfast was delicious that is the only plus. Also the location was great.

Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was very dirty. Bathroom door would not even close as scraped the tile. We've stayed here several times but not again. Condition of hotel has really gone down. Breakfast was good and breakfast area really clean.

This is a very clean, quiet facility. The room was very comfortable and well kept. The beds were great also!

The bed was comfortable. The floor in the entry and bathroom was sticky. So were the nightstands. Possibly too much soap in their cleaning water. Overall it wasn’t bad.

The bathroom had a pile of hair and dirt in the corners , good coffee and breakfast

The staff was very nice. Overall apperance was very good. Unfortunately the floors in the room were dirty. I used a wet cloth to wipe the sticky bathroom floor and it came away black. When we walked from the carpet to the bathroom you could see footprints. Soap residue was on the bathroom counter.

We were not impressed with the shower floor color, black. It was dirty as well as the soap dispensers and the hair dryer. The soap dispenser in the shower had black hair on it and the blow dryers had blonde hair on the base so when you grabbed it, hair was in your hand.Items were left in the fridge from the previous occupants. We were really disappointed. When checking out, no one cared about our stay.

The desk personnel was not friendly. The room was dirty. Cleaned at but very dirty. We would not take a bath. Dirty. The carpet was dirty. I will not stay at this location.

Where to start. Couldn’t ever get ahold of front desk staff, in person or calling the front desk. Sheets were stained and it appears some fecal matter and pubic hair was embedded in them. Floor hasn’t been vacuumed in a very long time. Toilet and tub were dirty. Shower had pink build up and shower curtain was brown. Walls were dirty. Nothing had been wiped down so crumbs/dust/gunk was plenty. Needed to write a note and couldn’t find a pen in my bag but luckily, the room had one. Unluckily, the cap had been chewed on Took plenty of pics to back this up. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

The room was not as clean as it should be. The toilet had a feces stain under the rim of the toilet. I literally had to clean it myself,the receptionist didn't answer the phone x 2 when we where calling for directions after my GPS steered us to the wrong places. Then when we entered no one was at the desk ,we literally had to yell ,hello,hello,she was sitting in the lobby with her head turned against the counter.I done know why she didn't hear us coming in.Other than that the experience was ok,I just didn't expect this at this particular hotel,ne er had a problem before. Breakfast was delicious!

The room was hot and sticky, we turned the air down and it eventually cooled off but the a/c unit is loud. The shower doors do not look like they’ve been cleaned in a while, water leaks from the door somehow. The toilet would continue to run if handle not jiggled. Overall we have come to expect better maintenance of a Holiday Inn.

Staff was very nice and helpful. The suite we stayed in was very spacious and clean. Overall the best experience I have had so far.

The rooms were really nice. The bed was very comfortable and the pricing was very satisfactory for what we got out of our stay

Cheap interior and no sound proofing. Very loud.

The location of the Holiday Inn is very convenient to get to and drive around the city. The only issues were the a/c made a lot of noise when it was running. If you have a room on the 3nd floor you can hear all the noise coming from the above unit. Also had very low pressure for the shower.

Really noisy with the load trucks and motorcycles coming and going at the restaurant right by the hotel.

The wall are thin, i can hear children running through the hall and people walking above my room. Other than that great place to stay.

Hotel was as expected for Holiday Inn Express. Room was plenty big and nice furnishings.

Nice staff and clean room. Only complaint would be the lack of noise barrier. The people above us woke us up with their footsteps and we even had our sound machine on. Paper thin wall.

Clean and comfy beds and nice bathroom. Around midnight we heard a crash above us and for the next 3 hours, stomping and sliding and bumping. No sleep. Next morning was super loud banging and bumping in the hallway.

The interaction with the front desk person was very unimpressive. We felt as though we were bothering her by entering the building. Not welcoming or friendly and she definitely was not service minded. We received our key card, went to our designated room, opened the lock which turned green and the door was locked using the flip lock! The room was already rented out! We had to go back to “ms. Unwelcome” I stated that there was a very unhappy man in the room she just assigned us- her response was “oh”. She assigned us a different room- never an apology, not even an oops! What a rock. The bed was ok and the room clean enough but geez not worth $180 To be treated like a pest!

considering I was not able to check in because the hotel did not have my confirmed reservation from Expedia. I can’t speak regarding a stay at the hotel. Late arrival and had to drive 2 hours away to find an available hotel. The resolutions department was supposed to call me back with an option and I never received a call.

The room was nice But the customer service was terrible got to the hotel no one was at the front desk-she pull up to the hotel 25 minutes later didn’t apologize to the people waiting on her rude and don’t let me forget about the breakfast lady Sunday morning Omg rude mean ass hell for no reason why? because someone let her know it was no more sausage, fork and gravy. The time was 7:30am

I was very happy with my stay. The manager went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with every interaction.

We loved the staff! When we checked out,it was like leaving family behind! The bed was AWESOME!! It was hard for us to leave.

The staff is what makes this one of the best places to spend the night. I do a large amount of traveling, and the staff was by far the best that I have experienced in a long time! Great job to all of the employees!

This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. I travel frequently for work, so am very accustomed to staying in hotels and can be VERY patient. I've spent years in service and custome service, and truly understand the difficulty Initially my stay was pleasant. However, as I made it further into the hotel, I could help but noticed the uneven floors, chipped paint, and build up in most crevices of the establishment. My bed was clean, but that was the only thing that was. The shower did not look like it had been cleaned in some time. A panel behind the toilet was detached and propped againt the toilet. Wires hung loose from behind the TV, and the curtains were mangled, which I actually straightend out. The customer service I received was embarrassing. I'd arranged for a late check out. This was not noted. At 1030 I received a knock on my door, a half hour before normal check out, asking if I needed anything. Of course not as I would be checking out in an hour and half since I'd arranged a late check out. I had another knock at 11, asking if I was checking out late. This was the same woman I'd already explained this too. Then again at 1130, someone attempted to walk into my room, while I was changing. At this point, I no longer felt comfortable spending any further length of time in this establishment. This has been one of the worst experiences at a hotel I have ever had. I don't know what other accomodations are available in this town, but select this one at your own risk.

We checked in to our room and went to grab lunch. Came back and found out they had given strangers a key to our room. We only knew because we could not get in to our & the nice couple admitted they entered the room thinking it was theirs. No apology or anything from the hotel staff.

Hotel is very close to downtown attractions and has a restaurant directly behind the hotel. You can easily walk over to eat.

Really noisy with the load trucks and motorcycles coming and going at the restaurant right by the hotel.

When most hotels say they provide breakfast, it's a stretch. Our free breakfast included fried eggs, sausage links, sausage gravy, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, various types of pastries, various types of yogurt, various types of cereal, and lots of fruit choices. It was all very good. Thank you!

Pleasure trip to see Laurel Ms. Good location. The room was clean but there are some minor structural problems that need repairs. Cracks loose mouldings etc. Pancake machine was not in use.

The room with 2 queen beds was a good size and even had a reading chair with a light. It was nice to have a mini fridge with a freezer compartment and it did a great job keeping our lunch box ice packs frozen. Breakfast was yummy and the staff was friendly and helpful. 🙂 I found the bed too soft, but that is a personal preference. Overall, it was a good place to stay for a couple of nights.

Property was clean, comfortable, staff very professional and friendly. The breakfast was extensive offering lots to choose from.

I had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn express. The accommodations were clean. I love the high ceilings, and the bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were very soft. The breakfast was excellent as well. The kitchen attendant made the most excellent biscuits and gravy.
