Had two rooms for the weekend. Great location, everything walkable, excellent amenities, pool party was a blast, and friendly staff. I'm giving it a 4 star because the A/C did not work in one of the rooms. I informed the front desk about it, and the maintenance person came to check, but unfortunately, there was nothing he could do for the moment, and he said he would report it for a service follow-up. So we kept the balcony doors open, which helped with the hot weather. I didn't follow up with the front desk upon check-out as I ran a little late and needed to get going. Besides the A/C problem, I thoroughly recommend the Hard Rock Hotel Gaslamp!

Property staff were great, very pleasant, responsive, accommodating. Overall, the hotel was great! We did have a problem with the water faucets in our room for some reason the sink would only put out super hot water. We ended up having to change rooms, they gave us a great room on the corner the last night. There was also a weird problem with the hot tub, which caused it to be drained and unavailable for a full day. Kind of a bummer.

First, the room I booked wasn’t available, they said they were giving me a free upgrade, but it was just because the room I booked wasn’t available. We didn’t like the room so we went to get our original room which is when we found out that that room wasn’t available. We were upgraded to another room which seemed very nice until we had a huge cockroach in the bathroom. We were “upgraded” again to a bigger room, but without a balcony, which was a main reason we chose the original room. It was late and I didn’t want to deal with it that night… the staff was helpful, but so many problems with the stay.

The beds are quite comfortable—room is plenty big enough (2 queen studio) with good-sized bathroom with walk-in showers. Could use some sprucing up here and there if they want to get to 5 stars (some corners are worn for ex.) Pool terrace is awesome—could really use some TLC to make it spectacular. An unbeatable spot if you are headed to Petco, hanging in the Gaslamp. Trolley stop is across the street adjacent to a major plaza with a cool vibe Mexican restaurant.

Having a nice evening, early morning 5k run, then stepping into a cold shower that never got even a little warm was not good at all. Since we were on a time schedule for check out, we did not call the front desk. I will be in contact with someone who can help us with this matter. Receptionist need better customer service especially when I checkout the young guy was very rude asking negative questions about my room charges which I am aware of. He ask for my ID and credit card then he push it back to me in a rude manner. I was just offended that I needed to checkout and leave property as I need to catch my ride! Management needs to retrain their front desk on hospitality for sure and it is non-negotiable!

The room was great, however the staff were not too friendly. I get it, it was a busy Saturday with the Deftones concert at Petco and Halloween party inside of hard rock. At check in, I opted for valet service which was the only real customer service I received. The counter person appeared to be overwhelmed however I was the only person in line at the time. When we got back from the concert I tried to claim my free drink at the bar and when I gave him the voucher the bar tender made a face as if it bothered him I was redeeming it. Overall, as my first time going to the hard rock, which I was looking forward to, not sure I’ll be back again.

I was actually pretty disappointed and will not be returning. The shower leaked all over the floor. I did inform the front desk and they did send someone up but I think it is just a flaw in the design as the other two parties I was traveling with had the same issue. Every department moved so slow and they only had 1 valet driver on at peak hours on a weekend (no fault to him at all) but we were in line for an hour just to have our car reparked for us. You pay a premium for low quality service so please consider when planning your vacation and staying here.

First of all the front desk staff upon checking in we’re not welcoming or inviting Brady was very stale. We went to the hotel for our honeymoon and it was a disaster. My husband was overcharged twice and the hotel says they don’t know how it was done we have had to escalate the situation to corporate. We were made some accommodations That were appreciated. However, overall the trip put a complete damper on our honeymoon due to the overcharging and unexplained charges way past what the deposit was supposed to be. Had to change rooms a few times when offered an upgraded room. The first upgrade was horrible. The second upgrade was very nice however there was no hot water and the toilet stopped.

Nice hotel. There was a convention across the street so the hotel was packed and the bar was closed due to private event. The rooftop bar was also closed so I had to go somewhere else. The biggest issue was there was no hot water in my room so I had to take a cold shower. I informed them via text right before I check out. The TV settings were in Chinese and didn’t know how to change it back. I just didn’t get the full experience due to everything going on which is a bummer because the rate was high. Thanks!

I’ve stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel twice before and they never cease to disappoint. My only minor complaint is my room was next to the exit door on my floor and whenever anyone left I heard the door slam. Other than that the staff, valets and parking attendants were fantastic. I give them 10 stars plus for adding a Nobu restaurant. I ate there and the food was perfection. I savored every moment.

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 — Disappointing experience for the price Unfortunately, our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego was pretty disappointing, especially considering that we paid for a suite. We arrived around 9:00 AM and understood that official check-in wasn't until 4:00 PM. We weren't expecting a guaranteed early check-in, but when we asked about the possibility, the front desk representative told us absolutely, that we would be next up when a room became available, and that it shouldn't take too long. We waited in the lobby for more than six hours. During that time, we watched most other guests arriving get checked into their rooms, while we continued waiting. When we finally asked the same representative for an update several hours later, we were told our room hadn't been cleaned yet. When I asked if that meant we'd probably be waiting until 4 PM, she said, "Yeah, at the latest." That was a pretty big difference from being told earlier that it shouldn't take too long. We were eventually given our room around 3:15 PM and were told the delay had been because of a broken curtain rod. The frustrating part was that when we finally got into the room, the curtain rod was still broken. Unfortunately, the room itself had several issues. The AC was terrible. Even with it set to high, the room wasn't much cooler than the outside temperature. Several of the power outlets didn't work, and the bed felt very worn down. The staff was great and even when we arrived early for check in they made sure our bags were safe until our room was ready. Our room was lovely! Bed was comfortable and overall the room was very clean!! The gym was better than expected. We didn’t have to change our routine because there had really good equipment in there. The breakfast at MaryJanes was excellent!! Lots of options and the servers were great and attentive!
