La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tempe University, Phoenix

We stayed here for a concert and it was so nice. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The bar was a bonus, nice atmosphere. The room was clean. Thank you!

Breakfast was mid at best, but hotel was clean and well kept. Bar was barely there as well

All was well. No issues. Room was clean. No weird smells. Awesome stay. Parking is kinda limited and area was full of water due to rainfall

I have stay at this location several times but this time I was somewhat disappointed. They normally have their bar/lounge open but this time they claimed that it was out of service. It is brand new so not sure if it was out of service or they just didn't want to serve anyone. Also, in the morning I went out for coffee in the breakfast lounge and the coffee machine was "Out of Order". I'm not sure but everything was in great working order before they sold out to the Wyndham Corp.!!!!!!!

This was a perfect location for our stay so we could walk to an Arizona Coyotes game. Only about a 20 min walk and we felt safe walking afterwards. Our beds were very comfy, rooms has mini fridges & TV has lots of channel options. The water pressure in our room was terrible. The pool is not heated so it was too cold for our January stay. No hot tub unfortunately. Breakfast included was breakfast on the go. Prepackaged danish or muffin. Nothing special so be prepared.

The room did not look very nice. All of the hardware on the drawers were crooked and loose. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. It is on a very busy street and we could hear traffic all night. In the morning we went down to have breakfast and there was only 2 slices of bread and 5 bagels out and no fruits or mellons. The coffee in the room was disgusting. They advertised a beer garden, it was not open, due to some remodeling they were doing in the lobby. Over all not the greatest place to stay

Location is great for events in downtown Tempe. Everything is clean and modern. Friendly staff. Some damaged finishes and the bathroom door didn’t shut all the way (maybe needed a repair) but overall seems like property is taken care of well. The pool area was clean and inviting. Would stay again.

The staff at the property are extreamly friendly and very helpful. I sat at front desk/bar multiple times and had several conversations with them during my visit. They were also willing to store my bags when I arrived early before check in. As well as when I was still in the area after check out. Here would be my lists of pro's and con's about the property. Pros: * Very friendly staff * Comfortable beds * Clean Bathrooms with nice showers * Affordable * Safe Area * Walkable to several areas around Tempe and Scottsdale * Good beer selection at lobby bar area and nice little hangout spots for just lounging around. *Affordable drinks and snacks at lobby store Cons: * 1st floor rooms are loud. Might want to bring earplugs due to all the outside and inside noises. * Cleaning staff did not come to my room to change sheets, clean or supply fresh towels. I was there for a week. * My room key deactivated itself multiple times and had to be reset 4 different nights in order for me to get into my room. * Expedia advertised this location to have "Free Breakfast" which currently is just a couple of pre packaged muffins that they sit out on the counter in the morning. Outside of the very few couple of areas mentioned above, I enjoyed my stay here.

Place was nice, front desk staff nice, but the Peloton in the gym (has the Peloton bike and a treadmill) was not authorized under a subscription. This should be easy for them to do. Also it has special clip pedals instead of flat pedals so harder to ride even if it worked.

The breakfast needs more food options. The pool was dirty so we didn't swim the last 3 days of our stay. The pool guy was there when we left. Needs to be cleaned more often.The sign outside makes you think there is a cafe inside and there isn't one. Update your website too, please. We will definitely go back. The staff was excellent and the room was immaculate.Close to many restaurants and shopping.

The property was fine and front desk staff were kind. However, they have a policy in which you need to request any service for your room. If you don't request, no one even comes to your room. We had a full garbage can and all towels used and on the floor. Our room was not touched. We had to go to the front desk to get a garbage bag and towels.

This property is disgusting. It's in a weird part of town, just off of the campus enough that it's super sketchy. Then, from the moment you walk in the front door, you're assaulted with the smell. The carpets were filthy and the whole place was gross. We checked in and went to our room only to find that there was blood on the carpet and just disgusting floors and surfaces. We didn't stay. It was too gross. Upon leaving, the manager tried to claim that the blood in the carpet was wine, but it was pretty obviously blood as wine wouldn't have looked like that. And, even if we ignore the blood, everything else was filthy as well. How could I sleep in the bed when everything is so dirty that the bed probably is too. The manager refused to give us any of our money back, but it was worth losing the money to ensure my personal health. This place is a pit. Don't stay here!

Breakfast was good. Unfortunately when I woke there was a dead roach at my door. It’s an older hotel that La Quinta took over. Some of the old hotel signs are still up.

It was quiet and in a good location. My room was dirty, I cleaned up some left over cookies that were on the ground by the night stand. They were visible, not sure how somone missed it. Their were chips and an empty bag of chips under and by the couch. The refrigerator had crumbs of food inside it.

The mirror in the room was falling off the wall. There was so much dust on the top of the bed frame that my partner had an allergy attack. There was a light bit of mold in the accessible shower and the door to 219 (our room) didn't lock.

Room was clean, checkin was a bit of a palava with their e-registation system (why don't they automatically have that data from hotels.com ? ), lobby and carpets were clean, shower grout needed cleaning (but minor complaint), breafast was OK (fine for the price), free parking is always good, close to ASU, overall very good for a budget hotel option.

When we first got into our room, my sons and I noticed in multiple spots on the wall someone smeared snot/boogers that wasn’t cleaned up. I ended up cleaning it up. Housekeeping should have easily seen it!

The room was not clean (rugs, mirrors and headboard). The hook in the bathroom for your towels was barely hanging on. There were no covers for the ceiling outlets and fire alarm. The bagged breakfast was way simple. At best a solid 4/10. Will definitely look elsewhere when needing to be near ASU.

The parking is public. No safety. The parking lot is shared with other businesses so they take no responsibility for anything that happens to your vehicle. The lobby was clean. The place is old, but they have tried to update the rooms. The door, I think was secure, but you could slide a pencil between it and the frame. There was hair in the bathroom, on the sink, counters and floor. The water pressure is nonexistent. It took forever for the water to get hot, over 15 minutes. The carpet is stained. There were things on the floor next to the mini-fridge and around the night stand. I didn't want to look at them to hard or I probably would of left The drawers had a weird smell. The traffic noise was a nightmare. I knew the airport was near, but the street noise was 10 times worst. This property is not worth the money they charge.

The ac kept turning off. My twin babies, my son, husband, and i didn't sleep well. It got so stuffy in the room that the babies cried almost all night. We told the lady at front desk at check out but she said the ac freezes and we just have to wait for it to melt so it can turn on again, whoch took hours.

The employees were very, very nice. The motel was old and had a facelift, but the wallpaper was peeling. The bed was not comfortable and the room was so small that I could hardly get around the queen size bed.

The staff was not helpful in trying to find a solution when I was injured two times by knocking my shin into the bedframe. The bedframe extended about five to six inches away from the mattress and was a hazard in the dark of night, or simply moving at all as the walkway between the bed and dresser was very narrow. My wife went to the front desk to retrieve a band aid after I was left bleeding from the second instance of knocking my shin. When trying to find a solution with the front desk to try and avoid future injuries, they responded with "well try and not kick it". It was then that we realized that there was not a solution to be had as the staff was unwilling to address the injury and insure my safety for the duration of the stay. We checked out minutes later. I do not recommend this hotel.

Ok hotel for a few nights, but rooms are very small. No closet for hanging clothes. Almost no counter space in bathroom.

Okay stay, the air-conditioning unit would only run for so long and kept shutting off making for some hot nights. Breakfast was very limited, nothing much but waffles, muffins, bread, fruit. No eggs or meat or potatoes. Everything was extremely basic. Not worth the price. I will say that the staff was very friendly and that I appreciated the kindness very much. Hats off to the staff.

I was assigned a room facing a busy street and struggled to sleep until 2 a.m. after a long day of traveling. I asked to be moved to a quieter room, but was told there were no vacancies. When I expressed how disruptive the noise was, the staff member simply asked, “Is it that bad?” I ended up checking out at 3 a.m. and leaving. Unfortunately, they refused to refund the unused second night. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Clean hotel, comfortable room, very minimal breakfast. I was annoyed that the front desk wasn’t helpful in finding the luggage cart so I went on a scavenger hunt to locate it on the floors. Biggest complaint was the noise from the street at night. Being located next to ASU there’s a lot of loud cars racing down the street at night

Convenient location. Comfortable bed and pillows. Clean room and bathroom. Cute little fridge. Very friendly staff! Very noisy location. Small bathroom and no closet at all. Very low water pressure and no HOT water. No microwave in room. Breakfast is fruit, yogurt, muffins, and a waffle maker present. Given the price, I would not stay again.

The rooms were ok, but the website indictated there was a microwave in the room. There wasn't. There was no closet, only a metal rack with 3 clothes hangers

Room condition was okay. Food is poor, particularly the eggs. You can tell where it has not been renovated. Front staff is poor: no smile, they don’t talk when you arrive or come to the front counter. I felt like a family that owns the hotel and the son and daughter dislike working there, but they have too.

This is as much on Hotels.com as it is the quality in but how they handled it wasn't good either. When I booked the room its was listed as "The tempest by Wyndham". not La Quinta. This is really a La Quinta. On top of that I booked what I thought was a 2 queen room and the room was listed as a "double room queen". This is very deceptive as the picture by it shows two queen beds but in reality it's an oversized room with one queen bed. There are also mirrors on both sides of the bed that look like one way mirrors and it's very sketchy. When I got to the hotel the front desk guy was blunt and said the issues with the online listing is not his issue and they only have rooms with one bed in them. I'm having a hard time believing that but took him at his word. Even the picture right now next to the review Im looking at shows two beds. It wasn't handled well and he basically said to call hotels.com. Breakfast was also disappointing. The eggs and sausage warmer don't keep them warm. By the time I scooped the eggs on my plate and sat down the eggs were cold. I didn't end up eating them for fear of not being heated enough. Very deceptive and bate and switch type place. I should have booked the OMNI for $50 more.

The stay was fine. The problems after we checked out were not acceptable. I forgot a leg pillow in the room after checkout. I called at 6:45pm on December 9th. The lady who answered was so incredibly rude to me. I was very nice at first because I understand that I need to make sure I grab all of my items upon checkout, but the staff also needs to report when they find said items and not keep them for their own. She stated that no one reported it and I must have lost it outside of the stay. I have hip problems and was trying to obtain MY property before I went home. She refused to help me in any form whatsoever and told me to call the next day. When that is not helpful when I will already be back home. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she HUNG UP ON ME. I will make sure to NEVER stay at this property again. And if you want your property to stay your property I suggest you pick a hotel where the staff is honest. All i was trying to do was get my item before I returned home and she was extremely defensive and rude. I have never been treated so poorly as a guest before.

It was a quick and smooth process to check in and get into my room.

What I like about this property is that it was very close to the airport. There were a variety of things for you to do and explore. What I did not like about the property is that there was a lot of renovation going on which I know you can’t help that but it was way too noisy. I came on a Thursday and left out on a Monday. Between all those days, the only time my room was clean was the first day when I checked into the hotel after that my room was never cleaned. I made sure to do a whole lot of activities during the day due to. I know when it comes to housekeeping that it does take a good bit to clean and change the sheets in the room, my room was never touched., I really wish they could have two nighttime people on staff due to me, calling regarding blankets and wash rags. The man said that he will bring(I called around 9:30 10:00 PM.) I never received them the next morning around 6 AM. I called to confirm about the washcloths and blankets, he stated that he was the only one on Night Shift and that if I needed them, I will have to come down to retrieve my item. I told him that I had known that last night, I would’ve came downstairs instead of waiting because you told me on the phone that they will be brought up. During the night around 1 AM there were loudness noise in the hallway as if somebody was walking back-and-forth heavily.. the only thing that was nice was the staff that I met when I checked in and when I checked out, the young lady was absolutely amazing.

Staff were rude and provided very poor customer service. Beds were also extremely uncomfortable.

Loved the property, this was my first time staying here and the area was kept very clean. Staff was very friendly and professional. The room service was excellent. Very convenient location close to dinning, ASU and the local valley Metro bus and Tempe Marketplace shopping center! Definitely recommend

Never knew about it or is noted on the website or through third-party booking companies. And the complementary breakfast was basic to say the least, toast and cereal!

You get what you pay for. The hotel is nothing special worthy of a high price night, but if you are looking something mid-range, this is a good fit. The hotel is well maintained and nothing feels old. But dont expect a nice breakfast or a good time at the bar. We stayed over the weekend and the bar was completely enmpty and breakfast was only carbs - bagels, apple, banana, muffins, toast or cereal. They also had yougurt but nothing special - just the cheap, high sugar, kind. Room was clean and somewhat modern, but the bathroom fan was so loud, it could not be used while someone slept. It met our needs for the trip but I wouldn't consider it a "vacation" type place - just a clean room to spend the night.

Breakfast was not great! One day there was no egg. Another day the waffle maker non-functioning and other day the banana was not good condition.

Clean nice comfy. Only think I wasn’t to thrilled about was breakfast was kinda blah two different kinds of cereal, then bread with cream cheese, no bagels, couple muffins and then the juice machine out of orange juice, apple juice cranberry water the only juice that wasn’t 100% water was the cranberry the milk came in a giant jug, which is OK just kind of weird but really you’re only option was two different kinds of cereal fruit loose for a raisin bread didn’t really kind of exist
