Bus stops to airport, zoo and some other destinations around san diego are easily accessible (<5 minute walk) from hotel with decent timings throughout the week. Nice, clean hotel with some decent options for food within walking distance. They have a basket of tiny toys for kids at reception which my very little kids loved. Good in hotel restaurant. What we did not like, pool was very dirty, was pretty cold and they did not offer room service.

Check in was easy, valet was quick and convenient. The hotel was quiet and the rooms were spacious. Many restaurants with vegan options in the area and the gym and pool were a treat. We will definitely be back for another staycation.

It was OKAY stay. I wouldn’t stay here again. I didn’t feel safe walking at night if I want to go out for dinner. A lot of homeless around the area. Late check out was 1130am which was only 30mins. Automatic charge fee of 25$ a day for free 1hr paddle board, ferry ride and two free drinks daily. I think we could’ve had the option of opting out. Lobby was nice. Definitely not staying here again. Ik not a downtown person if I’m on vacation. I’m a beach person and I rather stay by the beach. Mission beach area or or pacific beach or Coronado.

Very nice hotel and staff. The beds are very comfortable and our room was very spacious. We like the fact the a/c fan run all the time if needed for some white noise. The bathroom is spacious with almost instant hot water. The hotel has a destination fee and they give you certain perks from it. We took advantage of the free harbor tour and free drinks at the bar.

The hotel was nice. I just don’t care for dirty walls in the bathroom and burnt out lights. Both things are easily correctable by having a supervisor check each cleaned room before guests arrive.

Property was very clean inside and outside- there was prompt attention always - very courteous and friendly staff - Restaurant in hotel had great menu options for a family- Prices were greaaat. Arrived to the hotel after checkin time around 5pm. I had booked two queen rooms and neither were ready. The guy at the front said it would take about an hour to get the rooms ready as they were still being cleaned so we patiently waited. Over an hour later I still had not been contacted so I went to the front desk again and asked about the room situation and was told it would be another hour and a half at least as there was a water pipe that broke and the carpets needed to be dried. I spoke with Maya who offered to upgrade us to a king room which I said no because we wanted the extra bed. After pretty much having to haggle for a ready room, she agreed to upgrade us to a suite and give us a rollaway. Not even an hour into being in the suite, we found a giant cockroach crawling around near the closet. While I appreciate the upgrade and understand that certain things are out of people’s control (water leak), I would have appreciated communication more as well as readily available solutions instead of having my whole party wait in the lobby with their things for over 2 hours. I would not recommend this hotel.

Wow it’s a stone throw away from Balboa Theater. The check in host was friendly and accommodating the bartender at the bar was attentive. I felt safe considering the makeshift police station is next door. My room smelled and looked clean. I only stayed one night but was comfortable.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Great for walking places. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is clean. Staff were excellent from lobby, valet, bronze bird and Starbucks or grab n go. I have a complaints about the room. I booked a king suite balcony only to get a room with 2 queen beds. Also for the price of the room I expected it to be a little more renovated. Furniture needs a facelift. The sliding door to the bathroom of 1443 gets caught and then will slam. I ended up closing my pinky finger in the door. Lastly the coffee maker is broken and only steams the water…

Across 2 iPads and a laptop, the room WiFi wouldn’t connect or dropped so quickly it was useless. Had to go to the lobby to get stable connection and even that was speed throttled unless you pay extra. It felt like 20 years ago. Rooms and hotel were clean and staff were fine. A resort fee for a downtown hotel is a bad look, handing me a little card justifying it with an offer for free paddleboarding.

On the positive, location is great. Short trip from airport and all the sightseeing sites downtown. Was told hotel recently renovated upon check-in, room begs to differ. I have stayed here before, but will not book here again. Toilet has loud jet propulsion flush. Walls are thin. You can hear your neighbors showering and/or using the facilities. Air conditioning flimsy. Housekeeping removed shower gel from wall unit and did not replace until few days later. Did not replenish tea, coffee or paper cups during our week long stay. Shower has awkward space which allows water to flow out into the bathroom ( a cubby for the bathmat). All I seek is a basic hotel, this barely satisfied that. The resort fee too was a surprise, claimed to be out of their control. Not recommended.

All the Gaslamp Quarter fun is just a short walk away. Police dept next door procided a feeling of safety. Very clean and comfortable place to stay. The only negative was the shower head and bathroom faucet had very low water pressure. I didnt report it so I dont know if that was normal for the property.

Our one week stay was wonderful. Hotel staff were friendly with quick check/out. The three ladies in concierge, Julianna, Zozima and Suzanne were always helpful with dining reservations and things to do in the area. Thanks again for boat ride! Lovely stay.

The customer service we received at this hotel was impeccable. The hotel guest agent greeted us with a warm welcome with a smile. She offered us two bottles of wine to celebrate my husband's birthday and two wine glasses. On our second night, the engineer came up to fix our toilet. He returned with the part while we were out. When we returned, there was a hand written note saying he fixed toilet with a packaged chocolate wrench with a green ribbon tied on it, such a nice touch! The body wash gel is heavenly. The food in the lounge is a little expensive, and delicious. Our waiter was very nice. The hotel is very close to the center of the Gaslamp district and close to Seaport pier. There are taxis and uber drivers for those who don't want to walk. The hotel also offer electric bikes and other items for your entertainment. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel. I love, love this hotel.

The property was beautiful! There is nothing negative that I could say about it. The guys that valet were great, housekeeping was awesome and so friendly. The property was very clean throughout including the exterior. I would also like to point out that Erica that checked us in was so helpful and friendly and even remembered my name. She was helpful before we even arrived as well when I messaged the hotel with a question about our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel!

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. My experience was marred by a significant inconvenience that greatly impacted my overall enjoyment of my stay. Upon arrival, my party and I were informed that we would have to wait for 30 minutes before being able to access our rooms due to a faulty locking mechanism. Apparently, the battery needed to be replaced, and this caused a delay in our ability to get settled into our accommodations. I found this to be completely unacceptable. As paying customers, we expect a certain level of service and the ability to access our rooms immediately upon arrival. Having to wait for 30 minutes was a major inconvenience and a waste of our time. Furthermore, the fact that the battery had not been checked and replaced before our arrival demonstrates a lack of attention to detail on the part of the hotel staff. This is simply not acceptable in the hospitality industry, and I am deeply disappointed by the lack of care and consideration shown to us during our stay. I had high expectations for this hotel based on its reputation, but my experience fell far short of these expectations. I would caution anyone considering a stay at this hotel to think twice before booking a room.

We were able to check in early, which was wonderful. Jason checked us in and was rude when we told him we didn't drink alcohol. The hotel was very nice. The bed was very comfortable,the hotel was quite and clean.

Traveled here for my 51st birthday with my daughter. We had a splendid time, and enjoyed all the amenities. Only sour spot was the attitude of one of the older female concierge’s. She could have just been a racist, or just very sour and oft-putting. Wouldn’t touch the pen when my daughter handed it back to her… that was the only thing that rubbed me wrong.

The property itself was clean and well kept, the area around the property however was a bit of an eyesore! Adjacent properties were under construction, and there was an excess of vagrants after dark which made the area feel unsafe.

Staff were great, concierge/bellhop guy was great as we dropped our bags off early. The only knock is that there were a few police incidents in the area and it wasn’t as nice as I was expecting. Obviously that is out of the hands of the hotel and staff (who were great), we just don’t want to walk around at night. But, great pickup circle at the hotel for uber/lyft/taxi

Hotel is very good for price, centrally located, all hotel employees are nice and helpful. Only negatives are the price of parking and that the restaurant was always short of personnel with long waits for everything you order and the servers looked stressed.

The Westin Gaslamp is one of my favorite places to stay in San Diego. Perfectly located near the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter, it’s just a short walk to Petco Park and the bay, making it ideal for both business and leisure trips. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable, thanks to the attentive maid service that never misses a detail. The on-site restaurant delivers every time—delicious meals that truly impress. The bar is another standout feature, offering a great atmosphere and even better service. Shoutout to Dylan and Adam, two of the best bartenders around—they make every visit memorable.
