Empire Riverside Hotel

I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The location, staff and room was all 5 star and the sky bar and waterkant restaurant is a must. You do have to book in advance though as these are very popular.

Check-in / reception staff were unwelcoming and moody. Breakfast maître d’ spent his time looking at his phone, with no greeting or welcome. The rooms were very blandly decorated with nothing premium - very underwhelming and cheap & stains on the sheets

This is the second time I stayed at the hotel and it is very good. Nice big clean room. Staff were great. Rooftop bar is fantastic.

I loved this hotel!! We stayed here for a cruise shipping from Hamburg. From the moment you walk in, to the minute you leave, the front desk staff is so helpful and pleasant!! They cater to your needs. They can arrange taxi transportation, just let them know where you need to go and at what time you would like the taxi to pick you up and they will arrange all for you, you just need to be in the lobby at that time that you’re expecting the taxi . We are from USA, all spoke English, room clean with white comfortable beds ( not hard or too soft) beds, pillows are soft, they provide slippers, robe and a small kit with essentials (tooth brush, tooth paste, etc.), it is located steps away from the harbor (maybe a 2 minute walk), it has a hop on hop off bus stand next to the hotel(maybe 50 step’s away) it’s in the heart of everything. You have mini markets, souvenirs shops, quick local food as well as excellent restaurants, all within walking distance. At night very upbeat with crowd everywhere. My husband is 70 I’m 60 (we act more like in our 40’s :) )and we felt very safe walking around. You will never hear any of the commotion from the streets in your room and the view is to die for. Our view was of the harbor and the city, just beautiful and breathtaking. Their breakfast has everything that you would like to eat from vegan food to any type of meat, yogurt, cereal, jams cheese, eggs, offered as omelette, boiled, fried, all type of bread. We will definitely return!!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a weekend trip to Hamburg and chose to stay at this lovely hotel — and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The staff really went the extra mile to make our stay feel special and romantic. They even left us a lovely card signed by the staff, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. You rarely experience that kind of genuine effort these days, and it was a wonderful surprise that meant a lot to us. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for making our anniversary weekend even more memorable. The hotel also has a fantastic location, beautiful harbour views if you book a harbour view room, and very friendly and welcoming staff. Parking is easy and convenient, although a little expensive. And the rooftop bar is definitely worth a visit — a great place to enjoy a drink and take in the views. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would happily come back. A huge recommendation from us! ❤️
