We stayed here two nights for a large wedding. The property and grounds are gorgeous. The rooms are beautiful. Our room was never cleaned during our stay. It seems like they were not well prepared to handle such a large group of people. There were long lines and a huge wait to check in and out. The wait was 45 minutes to get our car from valet. They charge $70 for overnight parking and don’t offer the option to self park. Over all it was a wonderful stay. They just need to do a better job at staffing.

The property is absolutely gorgeous, the room was spacious and beautifully appointed, and there was a variety of things to do (see the horses, swim, spa, dining, walking, e-bikes, etc) so that we didn't need to leave the property at all if we didn't want to!

Pros- Service was good. Nice hotel & grounds Cons- Had 6 tacos by the pool for 72 bucks not including tax and I have had better at any other places. Half of them were torn on the bottom of tortilla. $70 parking +$ resort fee (including SD & OCC fee) per night. Not sure it was worth it, as the both adult pool and family pool were disappointing small. The jacuzzi by family pool is less than 10 feet in length that made me go "what the.."

This was a great family getaway for a birthday celebration. The whole family had a fantastic time, including activities such as horseback riding, trail exploration, archery, and enjoying the kids’ club and all the amenities. It’s a wonderfully relaxing location, and we will definitely be back.

Stunning hotel gorgeous rooms and facilities but unfortunately the weekend we went it had multiple weddings which meant it was hard to enjoy the grounds and very busy which when your paying a lot you want to relax also golf club closed at 6 which was disappointing as it would have been a great place to escape to in the evening when the hotel was busy

Beautiful property with first class service. The golf course is awesome. The restaurants are amazing and the Spa is one of the best in San Diego. Great place for families or couples wanting to getaway. 15 min away from Del Mar beach for more shopping and dinning.

Well first of all I walked into my room and there was a baby crib in the middle of my room mind you I dont Have children. The sheets look like they had blood stain on them. Went to make coffee this morning and the cups looked like they had old coffee around the whole rim of the cup

The hotel was very beautiful. Had a nice walking trail. There are horses on the property. Lots of activities to do. Tennis, horseback riding, yoga, golf and much more. The rooms were overall clean but not immaculate. There was one live spider and one dead one in our room. We also had dust and spider webs.

Awful experience for a $2,000/night suite. Housekeeping was very sloppy - not vacuuming, straightening the room up, or doing any more than making the bed and replacing towels similar to a motel. Food was very expensive and low-quality, as was the extremely slow service in the restaurant. The equestrian center was closed due to construction. Half of the requests I made - if I needed towels, cutlery, housekeeping within a certain time range, etc. - were either ignored or required follow-up. Management did not respond to my complaints for several days by which point our stay was almost over. The property is beautiful but the service level was horrific for a 5-star hotel. Do not stay here unless your expectations are very low or you got a great deal on a room rate.

Property was very nice and clean. Food was really good at the restaurants we had appetizers and drinks in the bar area and lunch at the golf course. Staff was phenomenal everyone was so helpful and very nice.

This is a beautiful dog-friendly resort. Customer service was wonderful. Our main criticism had to do with our room. There was a large stain on the bed bench and random stains on carpet (mentioned both to front desk shortly after checking in). The room otherwise was well-appointed and comfortable. And we will definitely be coming back.

There were some positives but also glaring negatives about this property. POSITIVES: 1) I commend Neil at the front desk for facilitating early check in. 2) The concierge was very helpful in referring us to off site hair and nail salons as the property no longer has these services since Covid. 3) rooms are very large with nice shower NEGATIVES: 1) ANTS! I told the front desk twice and they did NOT offer to move us to a different room. They did not offer to compensate us in any way. They said they would get housekeeping to address this. The next day the ants were back. What other bugs are there that we don\'t know about! I got the impression that there is a shortage of cleaning sta..2) Resort fee is a great way for the property to make extra money. I have stayed at much nicer properties without a resort fee. 3) Meals in their restaurant are expensive even for a hotel. Furthermore, waitstaff could do a better job. For example, waitstaff asked how breakfast was. My husband said "good". Waitstaff turned and walked away before I could answer that mine was not. In summary, cleanliness issues were a major red flag and some of the staff\'s indifference was problematic.

This was a very nice place, felt comfortable, clean and great staff. Things that could have made this place perfect. The room was quite a trek we were put in the last room which felt like a mile hike from the lounge and front desk. I liked the privacy tho and the view out of the balcony. In the morning I would have like more than one caffeinated coffee pods, as we had mostly decaf coffee in room for the morning. We called reception and they delivered promptly. Also; one of the lamps didn’t have the piece to turn on. Overall, this place is highly recommended and we will be coming back. The staff was the most professional and respectful staff I’ve seen at an establishment like this. Thank you for creating the ambience of royalty.

I travel all over the world and I can honestly say that the Fairmont DelMar has the best customer service. From the moment you walk in until you leave you are greeted by warm folks who work at the property! We love staying here!

Not only was the service horrible, for example, I had trouble finding an employee many times. The worst part is the hotel charged me double by accident, and when I looked at my card and noticed the charge I called the hotel. The hotel responded by saying, “Oh, our mistake. Contact your bank. There is nothing we can do about it.” I will not be booking with the Fairmount again.

Absolutely amazing. From the minute we arrived to the property everything was top notch. Staff are kind and welcoming. Gorgeous hotel. Super clean , pet friendly. Large area for kids to play. Pool bar staff were beyond sweet. Kind and helpful. My kids wanted to do the ice bucket challenge and staff helped us with the ice water. Good is great ,

The service is great. Everyone’s is friendly. But the hotel needs major improvements and kitchen is terrible as well. Food is bland for the money and the sink didnt work the desk was damaged the chair was dirty. Not worth the price.
