We found everything to be very clean. The staff was amazing, the coffee/tea bar were out all day and very nice choices. The breakfast was light and filling, great for grab and go, however we enjoyed the dining area and talking with other guests.

had a lovely relaxing stay at Whitehall. My only comment is that if you have mobility issues, request a ground floor room as there is no lift so had to carry my heavy suitcase upstairs. There are also several steps up to the hotel from the road and car park so you be mindful if you have lots of luggage. Aside from that, the room was spacious and well equipped with everything you need. The location was good as was only a short walk into town

This place was overwhelmingly disappointing. It is not kept up as other historic inns in Maine are, especially for the price paid for a small and dingy room. The heat was noisy and did not work well. There were many insects in our room, though, thankfully, no cockroaches. The place is woefully understaffed, and it shows. Coffee is only offered in the lobby after 7:30 a.m., not in the rooms at all. When we went downstairs for coffee, twice before 10:00 a.m., the dispensers were empty and for quite a while we couldn't find someone at the front desk to fill them. There were two bags of tea for the whole place, and the water wasn't hot. Sigh... They make a big deal about their "small plates" breakfast, but like everything else at the hotel it is done for economy's sake. The eggs were inedible, and the muffins were stale. My "small plate" breakfast consisted of three pieces of cheese and the five remaining blueberries. There was no other fruit. No meat. No toast. There were no forks out, only knives and spoons. My husband correctly observed it felt more like a hostel than a somewhat pricey inn.
