When a hotel shares the pool with a secondary business to teach children how to swim, it greatly limits the ability to enjoy the pool! I'll never stay at another Sonesta Select hotel because it was not relaxing while sharing the pool! If they cannot make enough income the right way, the owners should shut the doors or sell to someone else who can make it profitable! Also, I didn't like the question at check-in, do you need daily housekeeping? It should be automatic, not something you have to request! Highly disappointed with this hotel brand!

This place was fine, but they need to update the listing with correct pool hours. Also their main elevator was out of order which caused a lot of walking. This is a big property, so kind of a big deal when lugging up suitcases and children.

They had a small breakfast area that is advertised as a restaurant… it is NOT. It’s only open a few hours in the AM (closed by 9:30AM). There was a refrigerator in the room, but no ability to adjust the temperature and all of by beverages froze. The HVAC system is old… the room was either freezing or hot. There was no “fan” option. The bed was positioned in such a way that the TV couldn’t be viewed because it was partially blocked by an armoire. Finally, the hotel is almost hidden behind the Extended Stay Hotel.

Staff was nice, room was decent, breakfast was a joke, we paid an extra $9 for "complimentary breakfast " which was coffee, oatmeal, or a prepackaged muffin. The website also states bar and restaurant on site, which there was none. Had i known that was the case, and the lack of breakfast, i would have booked elsewhere.

Everything was great with one exception, during our stay there was toddler swimming classes being taught in the pool. My kids went down to the pool multiple times but were told they couldn’t swim because the pool was being used for swim classes. They were finally able to swim at 10:00pm. Why advertise a pool when it can’t be used by the hotel guests.

While the pool was heated, it was not being properly filtered and the result was a thin film of scum on the top. The water itself, looking down into the pool, was extremely cloudy. This was as of approximately 9 am, an hour after the pool opened. Another guest at the time shared our view.

The hotel room has a horrible smell. Realized it was blowing in from the A/C. Room size from photo was very deceptive. Had to give 24 hour notice to get housekeeping. Some staff were friendly and some (the one male I encountered) didn’t even make eye contact with me. Breakfast was terribly overpriced. Won’t be staying again.

When i arrived the front desk lady was nice. the carpet The carpet in the hallway was dirty and hard to roll suitcase on. Inside my room around the trash was dirty and the side tables had used forks inside. I was there for 3 days and housekeeping never came to my room

The hallway outside of our room reeked of weed and eventually pervaded our room, also. So the non-smoking policy is not enforced. Then when quiet hours should have kicked in, someone above us was having races with luggage carts, people were incessantly slamming the doors around ours and just otherwise noisy in the hall, and smoking weed again. Worst night of sleep I’ve had in a while - the pillows are also very lumpy and uncomfortable.

Front desk staff would not change my credit card at checkout, even though I selected “pay at property”. 3 staffers said because I booked through Expedia, they can’t change the card on file!?!! Very unwilling to help or even try! I booked 3 rooms for our group and they wouldn’t add other names to rooms for them to check in. After calling a 3rd time (and talking to 3rd different person) did someone finally help me add a name. Young man was very nice in fact. Otherwise Front desk people were not friendly at all.

I booked this hotel because I was working long hours and didn’t want to drive home as sleep deprived as I was. No where on the site stated that front desk staff is not 24hrs. Check in is after 3/4pm but I ended up working longer and arrived at the hotel at approximately 5:30am to find no staff and could not be checked in. When the front desk staff finally arrived his attitude and customer service sucked. He didn’t even acknowledge me waiting in the lobby, didn’t ask if I needed help or anything. Also, the towels didn’t seem to be thoroughly cleaned, there was a few hairs on two of the towels. Gross! I’ve never had this experience and I’ve stayed here several times prior.

Worst reservation experience with a hotel reservation in my life. I made a reservation at this hotel 6 months in advance. We were coming into town for a concert. I called the hotel a day prior and 12pm the day of my reservation. I made it clear I was coming as I asked for early check in. They said no to the early check in so we had to wait to check in until after the concert. I got an email at 7pm (just 3 hours after earliest check in time) stating that they no longer had a room for me! I was shocked. Never in my life has this happened to me. I was clearly coming and staying the night. I got the email while I was at the concert and I had to spend 45 min on the phone during the concert to straighten it out. I was told that they had no accommodations for me. I missed half the concert as I had to leave the venue to try and make a call with them. It ruined our night! If they overbooked then they should’ve at least warned me prior! Not before it’s too late! I am furious and I hope that everyone is warned by this review that your reservation with this hotel is NOT SAFE!

Thought it was just an average nice place to stay at. My room did have a funky foot smell. While at the pool I called the front desk asking for towels and was told that they were the only one on staff and no one could bring towels. Me and my 2 kids ended up walking through the hotel dripping water.

The property would have received top marks if (1) there was no 45 minute line to check in because only one staff member was there at front desk and (2) pre-paid breakfast was not of the "pick one: orange juice or coffee or ... and a granola bar or a box of packaged cereal or oatmeal with hot water" variety.

I liked that it was close to a couple shopping centers. What I didn't like is that the room I booked wasn't available (probably because I booked 3rd party and chose to pay at check in) but the lady found me a room with what I asked for. Another thing I didn't like is that they didn't offer free breakfast or at the very least a free coffee station. BUT you were able to purchase coffee at their franchised Starbucks for $6 and buy breakfast too. Plenty of other hotels in walking distance that do offer what this place didn't.
