Spark by Hilton Washington Meadowlands Blvd

Hotel is being renovated. Room was great, but pool and dining area were both closed. The entrance area was a hot mess. Would still stay there again.

We chose this hotel months ago and about a week before we were set to stay we noticed online that the hotel was closed. After some research we found it had been changed to Spark with no notification to us leading to some concern we would need to find a new hotel. When we booked the room we chose this hotel because it listed a pool. When we arrived we asked about the pool and the front desk told us it was closed. When we looked into the listing it now stated a "seasonal" outdoor pool, whatever that means. When we asked one of the workers about it they did not know anything about a pool. Another worker told us the pool had been removed. Still not sure where on outdoor pool would be located as the hotel is surrounded by parking lot. Next we found the gym and discovered there was nothing in the gym and it looked to be used as storage. So the 2 things we were looking for were no long there and we paid extra for that hotel just for them. The staff was very friendly though.

Entire place under renovation. No mention of that when booking. Elevator out of service. When checking in the lady kept saying hold on a seconf and walking off, sometimes for 5 minutes at a time.

The room was clean but I stayed at this property for the pool, fitness room and breakfast since we brought our grandson. There was no pool or fitness center and the breakfast was not good and had only old fruit, stale cereal and juice that was still concentrated. Expedia pictured these amenity and stated they were at this property. It was false advertising.

Rude staff morning and night. Pool hours list it closing at 12am but it's actually 10pm.

Room was clean and well-equipped, but needed updated (e.g. no usb outlets, tv cable system old, etc.). Almost all fitness equipment out of order. Outside entrance not well maintained. Morning breakfast adequate.

No pool as advertised.. only reason we stay there and they took it out.. also breakfast went down hill bad the hot breakfast included toast, bagels, and oatmeal. No other hot items.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovation, and the lobby and common areas are dirty. The breakfast was limited, and we only knew that at the moment we checked in. However, the room was great

No mention that they are under construction And no pool, no room service, only a makeshift breakfast in a meeting room. Inexperienced personal for hospitality. Trip hazards everywhere. Hole in the pillowcase

We drove around for 20 Minutes, the hotel Changed its name to the Spark. Never informed us. The pool wasn’t available, the gym wasn’t available. The breakfast room was moved to a little room with 4 tables. We were never informed if any of these things. I paid for a hotel with a pool and a gym and got neither. The front desk could care less. The only reason we stayed, the other hotels around the area were all booked. They had a cute little gazebo to sit under, couldn’t be utilized as another family was using it to smoke pot and let their kids play in the parking lot while they got high. I really do t understand, how you advertise one thing and supply another. I do t know if. Would book thru hotels.com again. I was duped. The only ice machine that worked was in the third floor. None of the vending g machines worked either. I can go in and on.

Bedbugs.

Hotel being remodeled filthy lobby no security on the door propped up by a rock paint cans and junk all over. Staff unhelpful! Room smelled due to leaking air-conditioner. This place should not be renting rooms! Nothing was like the pictures only stayed because it was late and storming.

I am covered in bed bug bites - staff is useless, said manager was unavailable, wouldn't even give a phone number. Terrible hotel.

The hotel is currently being remodeled. There is construction supplies everywhere and the stairwells are so dirty. Parts of the hotel is not open for customers usage. I was not even notified that the hotel was under construction. The room was very nice though.

dirty room. Carpet very dusty. It affected my allergies instantly. Thankful that the front desk staff very accommodating and helpful.

The website showed that it has a pool. It did not. The toilet paper rolls were empty. There was leftover shower products from the previous guest on the shower. The breakfast was not good. The toasters didn’t work.

Absolutely terrible and disgusting. Mold all over the walls, curtains, and carpet. Will never be back. Strongly encourage looking elsewhere

Someone urinated in the fan in the room. Mold In shower and general smoke infused furniture and curtains in a non smoker room

The pool wasnt in service nor has been for quite sometime. The room wasnt cleanly and the bathtub was slimy..no one to report to.

Breakfast was terrible. Very limited choices, waffle batter machine barely worked. Pool was closed for renovation. Vending machine drinks were very limited. Pricing of the “snack” bar was too high. Hotel workers were rude as ever. Only milk, cranberry juice, coffee and tea to drink for breakfast. Bathroom and room weren’t properly cleaned. One roll of toilet paper wasn’t even half full…

Our stay was fine. They are under construction & remodeling so some of the hotel is messy & closed. But the room was newly remodeled, clean & confortable. Breakfast is held in a small meeting room due to the remodeling which is a little cramped, but worked. Selection is limited to waffles, cereal, toast, yogurt& muffins which is enough and was very good. The front desk staff was very pleasant & nice during our stay. The only downfall was the noise you can hear from the traffic on the interstate. We had the thermostat/fan on which kept it down. And honestly we slept just fine. The beds & bedding are really comfortable

Well first through hotels.com hotel name is country inn… but actually name is spark. Definitely should update that. Second hotel is currently under renovation so no pool or breakfast. I stayed the entire weekend and room wasn’t cleaned once, I understand not changing sheet but atleast change trash… as I was checking in door didn’t close to room advised staff, front seat lady comes up and forcefully pulls door to close and then just looks at me like it’s fixed… doors must close on there own. Front desk staff was rude and just seemed like they didn’t have anything under control. I would never stay here again and I would suggest the same to anyone who is thinking of staying here.

A small store of drinks and snacks was open by the registration desk. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was perfect. The TV set was incredible. Check in was a delight. A young man, native of Jamaica, was friendly and professional, greeted us, check on us after we got in the room, and was available when we needed him. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Clean room Nice beds Kind of noisy doors when neighbors came and went

This was a clean renovated property. They had a nice big shower and everything looked brand new. The breakfast was very sparse and there was some outside road noise, but it was a great value for the price.

Everything was fine except the swingover door latch wasn't screwed in and there was obvious damage to it. As a woman traveling solo, it gave me a sense of uneasiness.

We have stayed at this property before, and there was always a coffee maker in the room. This room did not have one. Also, this is what I booked: Reserved for Donna Helman. You booked 1 room. Suite, 1 King Bed, Accessible, Non Smoking We had 2 queen beds, apparently a suite, which meant the tv was in another room. We weren't happy with our stay this time, and most likely will not be going back.

The pillows were lumpy. Actual lumps. It advertised choc chip cookies - there were none. But there was free cofee always available. Also of the website amenities & room looked better. BUT THE WORSE PART was the noise of the traffic outside the window all hours, all hours! I got little sleep for 2 nights. The highway noise was awful.

This particular hotel is right beside I 79. The only thing ( and not a deal breaker) was the constant noise from traffic on I 79. Everything else was very good. Clean, great price, near shopping and restaurants.

All was good aside from the tv had been broken. Luckily I got to room late and was getting ready for sleep. I only planned to watch for 10-15 minutes since it was so late but the screen was broken so I called front office, they came right up and asked if I wanted other room. I did not but wanted to make sure they understood it was broken.

The front desk manager Marilyn Scarlett is exceptional. Extremely helpful with extending my stay and very hospitable on all accounts. She is to be commended.

It’s good they just should warn you that they will take 100$ from your account for a hold for the room

The idea that this property charges $100 deposit, and keeps it for 5 to 7 business days is CROOKED. When a company does this to each customer, they're adding up to and over $5000 per night, that they can draw interest on for those 5 to 7 days. Also dishonest is that the deposit is MORE than the room rental rate. Won't stay here again. One other thing: The Hotel website claims to have a Breakfast BUFFET, but it's not, it's Continental. This is a deceptive way to lure customers.

Attendant was rude & had an attitude, tried to tell us we couldn’t check in at 18 years old when it clearly says so on their website. Other than that the stay was fine, the room was alright.

Given a room upon checkin. Hung out for about 3 hours before going for supper. Come back and asked for a bar of soap at the bathroom sink. Clerk asked our room number. Get to the room and the key wouldn’t work. Husband takes both keys and the envelope to the front desk. Comes back with now a single key, which doesn’t work on the door either. We both go down and two desk clerks come upstairs with us. One heads to other end of the hallway. We’re telling her that we were at the room assigned upon checking in. She uses her manager’s key to open the room. She informs us that WE erred and entered the wrong room. We supposedly were to be at the other end of the hall. She forced us to move because the room was an upgrade from what we paid. So, at 8:30-9 pm, we had to gather all our stuff and drag it to the “correct room.” We were told that the door was left unlocked and that’s why we could enter the original room. I know for a fact we went to the room assigned upon check in. A few other small things left us disappointed, but mainly the issue with the room assignment. They never admitted that they were wrong, just that WE took it upon ourselves to enter the incorrect room. I felt as if we were in school being reprimanded by the teacher and principal. Thank goodness other guests were not in the hallway to witness this

When I checked in the process was slow and they actually had to look me up a second time as they "lost" the transaction. They also said they put a $100 charge on my card for "incidentals" but that it would be removed when I checked out (it's still there)! Breakfast was meh! When we checked out she said she could not provide a receipt since we booked through Expedia (we booked through Travelocity)! All in all, not a great place and we will not stay there again!

It was close to the facility I was visiting the price was reasonable.

Nice enough, clean enough, and close enough to the casino and tanger outlets to be perfectly convenient, and the right price!

Good for the price & easy location. Can hear highway from room depending where your room is. Large bathroom which was nice. Beds are comfortable.

Nice one night stay with excellent customer service. Nice view along with highway. the noise Highway vehicles noise in the evening, maybe only in frontside. Coffee available in the lobby but snacks are for purchase.

Friendly peeps. Great location. Excellent digs for a weary traveler.

Hotel was good. No issues with it. Not Excellent but not bad at all. Staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the breakfast was lacking. Had options but I definitely wanted to go elsewhere afterwards to eat since I didn't eat much there.

Toasters were both non functioning Fake juices Cream cheese/butter not refrigerated Dog was brought in eating area with other customers (Pets should be kept in separate eating areas indoors) Bed and room were comfortable and clean

This hotel is clean and quiet. The check-in process was easy. The breakfast was a bit disappointing from a quality perspective, but not a big deal if you aren't staying someplace for their breakfast.

There was no coffee pot in room, no toilet paper holder in bathroom. Not much food choice for breakfast. the room/hotel was clean and it looks very nice since the remodel.
