Room had everything it should have breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful and professional

I recently found this Gem after never staying there before and its now my go to hotel everytime. I've had stays ranging from a single night to ten consecutive nights. Each time it's been a consistant 10/10. It's a great place with great staff and has everything you need. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels around the country which can cost 80 one night but jump to 130 for the same room the very next day. The Kiln don't seem to follow that trend which i think is fantastic. Don't get me wrong the prices do vary slightly but in my experience it isn't very often and when they do it's by a small amount. For me that's something which is a really big plus. I've never had one issue with The Kiln and i'll be booking plenty more stays in the near future

Slightly confusing to find the first time, but good parking, clean rooms and a food outlet on site. Friendly staff and a good breakfast available. Lots of food venues in the area within walking distance, on the outskirts of Wakefield. Handy for the M1 motorway.

It's not quite so clear if you're doing a cursory perusal of hotels but this hotel consists of two buildings: one modern one which houses the reception/staff and restaurant, and a residential block not too dissimilar to an old block of council flats. This block consists of all the rooms spread across three floors and is essentially outdoors. You go indoors only when you actually get to your room. There is no lift, and the stairwell is dirty, dilapidated and smells of alcohol. From the photos it seems like they've modernised some of the rooms but my one had magnolia paint and popcorn-style walls and ceiling. Very dated. There was no phone to call the reception so you either have to resort to calling them with your mobile or going out to the reception building. However, the room and WC was impeccably clean and I didn't feel uncomfortable in any way living there. Shower head is of a classic detachable type which is something I like. Check-in and check-out was smooth and trouble-free, with the latter simply requiring a drop-off of the key card into a box.

Stafays lovely.my.only complaint hospice to iron clothes in that particular. It is not.same in.other rooms
