Nice location in the park. Only a 10 min walk into Wakefield town centre. Food & drink from the bar is good. The cooked Breakfast was also good, although lack of quality coffee (had to pay extra for good stuff) was disappointing. The beer garden is a nice added extra. Hotel had an event in an attached marquee on the Saturday which went on until 12.15am....it was very noisy and no sleep was possible, whilst this was mentioned at check in it was too late to make alternative arrangements .The event impacted the evening meal service as the restaurant was extremely busy with lots of children running around. We asked to be moved to a quieter table and was shown to an app only area ...we used the app to order food and when it arrived( well actually dumped onto the table)we asked for knives and forks to be told there're over there you will have to help yourselves as this is an app only area...so basically no service ...we definitely wouldn't stay there again

Beautiful location! The house has a great history, and is set well off of the main road in woodland. Staff are super helpful and friendly and check-in was easy. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Great base for Wakefield and surrounding attractions. Only down side was a Saturday night party in the marquee keeping us awake until midnight. But otherwise, it was lovely. Thank you for a great stay.

A wonderful venue to stay during our break to Wakefield. The Holmfield Arms is our go to accommodation whilst visiting our family locally. The hotel rooms remain very clean and cosy and have the bonus of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Can't fault the overall standards of the hotel

Room was comfortable and clean. It was quiet until doors started banging for breakfast. Breakfast was a let down. Went through 5 “clean” dishes before I found one, similar experience for plates too. One of our breakfasts the black pudding was hardly cooked. Also question calories on menu, amounts seem wrong. Would stay again but just not have food.

We were visiting family so did not use the restaurant we ate out with them.check in was quick and easy. The room was very clean with lots of room for both of us. Bed was big and comfortable. Everything we needed will definitely stay again on our next visit.

I was stopping at the hotel and also having a meal and drinks. At the same time as a wedding function was taking place. This put a burden on the bar area initially where a queue quickly formed at the bar, and tables were left uncleared. A few if the staff were collecting and washing glasses at the expense of waiting customers, there wasn't a balance and a lack of urgency was apparent whilst I was queuing and was commented on by a few customers. In a nutshell, more staff were needed to make it work more efficiently. .. Sorry, you did ask..!! That said I would still visit again..

Very warm welcome and efficient friendly check in. Bar and breakfast staff all friendly and knew what they were doing ( which isn’t always the case at many hotels) Room was fine and great value all things considered. Would stay again

The hotel itself was just what you would expect from a premier inn. But the breakfast experience was sadly lacking. From cold coffee and wrong items received, to couldn’t care less staff. You were made to feel like a nuisance if you complained. Would definitely stay at the hotel again, but would go elsewhere for a better breakfast experience.

We found ourselves having to ask for such, which we expected would be done. That said it’s reasonable value. I’d go bk but not in the summer months.
Nice location in the park. Only a 10 min walk into Wakefield town centre. Food & drink from the bar is good. The cooked Breakfast was also good, although lack of quality coffee (had to pay extra for good stuff) was disappointing. The beer garden is a nice added extra. Hotel rooms are very tired and in need of a refurb. Huge negative was the lack of AC in the rooms. Hot summer nights made sleeping very difficult. A small fan was supplied but it wasn’t good enough. Beautiful location! The house has a great history, and is set well off of the main road in woodland. Staff are super helpful and friendly and check-in was easy. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Great base for Wakefield and surrounding attractions. Only down side was a Saturday night party in the marquee keeping us awake until midnight. But otherwise, it was lovely. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Holmfield. The location is great, the pub is fabulous and the room was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay! We plan to come back again when in the West Yorkshire area.

Room was comfortable and clean. It was quiet until doors started banging for breakfast. Breakfast was a let down. Went through 5 “clean” dishes before I found one, similar experience for plates too. One of our breakfasts the black pudding was hardly cooked. Also question calories on menu, amounts seem wrong. Would stay again but just not have food.

The food from the bar menu was not inspiring. The smothered chicken was good but the hand battered fish was below average. Breakfast was under whelming . Having said that the staff were welcoming and attentive. The accommodation was excellent. Bed comfy , room very clean. All reception and corridors clean and well maintained. We would stay again.

The hotel itself was just what you would expect from a premier inn. But the breakfast experience was sadly lacking. From cold coffee and wrong items received, to couldn’t care less staff. You were made to feel like a nuisance if you complained. Would definitely stay at the hotel again, but would go elsewhere for a better breakfast experience.

A poor stay. The alarm bells started ringing when at check in we were told ‘your room will be noisy tonight .. there’s a wedding on’ .. they were not wrong. I just don’t get why we’d not be warned before checking in? Allocated a room away from the noise? The room, with no air con, was very warm so if we closed the window then it would have become an oven … leave the window open then a wedding disco belting out til midnight (then the guests leaving the place) meant sleep around 1am. Room was clean / shower poor / property needs a facelift and staff were just not interested. Anyway congratulations to Daniel & Anastasia on their wedding … 💒… now home to get some sleep.
