Turtle Bay Resort

Very relaxing, beautiful resort! Good experience at Alaia for dinner. Pool was crowded, beach was beautiful but no beach service, that could be improved as well as nicer beach towels.

Wonderful Hotel for families, couples, and friends. Beautiful location that makes you feel like you never need to leave. The service is top notch with warm and friendly people everywhere. The restaurants are expensive but delicious. The hotel market and cafe offer affordable food options. There are free and fun Hula and Lei making classes. There is a jazzy adult only pool and warm and inviting kids pool with slides. If you are traveling with kids bring them to Turtle Bay Resort to reconnect and recharge. My 7 and 5 year old actually felt sad when we stood in that beautiful lobby on our last day. We plan to return for the holidays because it is a wonderful place to create Lifetime memories.

The Resort is nothing short of Amazing! The Swimming Pools, Golf Courses, Stables and Beaches were all great. The employees were top notch. The idea of the reusable water bottles along with refilling stations to cut down on waste is brilliant! The rooms were beautiful and the bathroom was huge. I did notice a couple areas that needed repair work like shower tiles but that was extremely minor and in no way lessened the experience. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We come here for the miles of walking trails along empty beaches. Plenty of adventures and nearby places to explore but we never even leave and last time just took an Uber to/from the airport. We love the restaurants on the property and spend our days walking, sitting on the beach enjoying the view, and using the adult pool and hot tub. We come here to exhale and have zero stress.

Amazing hotel, staff and amenities. Have been multiple times to this hotel and the staff remember us! Service is exceptional. This is quite literally heaven on earth and I count the days to go back. Pools are amazing. Food and drinks, amazing. Many activities to do, you never have to leave the hotel if you don’t want.

Absolutely wonderful stay. There are so many excursions available for the family. We stayed in the oceanfront bungalows. Room was fabulous, had our own parking for the rental car. We rented bikes and rode the trails, a map was provided. The pools are ridiculously cold and need to be heated. There is a hidden jacuzzi by the Sunset bar and that was lukewarm. The beach amenities were great. Food was good at Alilea and Yamaguchi sp? We drove to food trucks Tanaka Farms and Romy's for garlic shrimp. Really good at Tanaka farms. Didn't want to wait the 45 mins for Romy's. The Polynesian Center was an awesome experience, I would recommend upgrading to the buffet. Food was excellent with lots of choices. Overall the hotel was clean and huge. Our Bungalow hosts were exceptional, especially Foia! Really enjoyed the experience and will plan to return with more family!

Turtle bay resort is my favorite resort on Oahu the pool bar view and bartenders are the best on the island. The patio and views in the room is awesome the grounds and lagoon great for relaxing. The infinity pool and hot tub are excellent only issues should stay open later like 10pm

The open air nature of this hotel is excellent. There are several different lobbies and gathering areas/bars, all of which have great views of the ocean from different sides. The fitness center is one of the best we've ever been to in terms of location, view, and equipment. Bathroom lighting could use an improvement… All the lighting was in the mirror and none of it was overhead, so the net effect was kind of dark. One feature we really liked was the free bike rental for one hour… There are many trails along the ocean that you can ride on so it was great. We ate in three of the restaurants, and thought two out of the three were exceptionally good. the little "grab and go" place had a great view, but not really much good food … Everything was premade for breakfast and there was no flexibility to get a vegetarian version of a breakfast sandwich. Overall, this is definitely one of the best hotels in the Hawaiian islands we feel.

I enjoyed the beautiful views. The bed was comfortable. I liked the cleanliness. The staff was friendly.

Great location, Room condition bare minimum had to ask for basic amenities like shower caps, kettle for hot water, bath robes, floor towels for shower, additional garbage can, power outlets don't always work etc.... All activities are charge on a menu even at the beach. The lobby bar was durty and the tables are sticky and the sofa and chairs are dirty with left over food. Alaia signature restaurant is a disaster, the only good place for dinner is the Beach House where we end up for dinner every night of our stay. The Ocean club access is not worth the cost, way over charged for what is offered. Would have appreciated if valet parking charges was advised at arrival instead of finding out at check out. The concierge desk was unhelpful end up having to set up everything by ourself. Nalu Spa / Salon was great. Great couple massage with Jesica and Wilson. recommend them highly. The Palmer golf course was great and everyone there are very helpful and welcoming.

Our stay at Turtle Bay was excellent. Our group had 2 rooms, and while TB was not able to guarantee neither connecting nor adjoining rooms, the front desk staff at checkin did a thorough job of finding room options that best suited our priorities (we ended up on the same floor but in different wings, which worked out great and both rooms had wonderful views and could see each other from the balconies). The rooms were spacious, modern, well maintained, and very clean (like *very* clean - even the vents, filters, and plumbing all looked like they were regularly cleaned & maintained, which is super rare for hotels). If you opened the sliding glass door, you could vividly hear the ocean, beach, and pool activity, but as soon as the door was closed the room was practically silent. Really good sound insulation. TB also doesn't have a price difference for Valet vs Self Parking, which was actually kind of nice. The only cost difference is what you choose to tip (the valet staff is fantastic). My only complaint was that the thermostat in the room only cooled - it didn't have a heating functionality. That said, it's Hawaii and there's not much need for a heater, but there were a couple points on our trip where I wish I had one. In retrospect though, I never asked the front desk if they had a space heater - they may very well have provided one. Overall: fantastic experience; highly recommended; will return. And the North Shore is great as always.

Hotel placement is superb. BUT unfortunately (and a bait and switch) the hotel is in transition from previous operator to now a RITZ CARLTON and NOT ready for prime time. Uneven service all the way around, unbranded amenities (if you can find them), rough, stained bath towels, very uncomfortable beds and pillows, NOT anything close to the quality we have been accustomed over the last forty years that we have been loyal customers. Disappointing.

This was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. The views are from a postcard, the hotel itself is new, clean and takes advantage of the beautiful landscape.

Everything here was great, I only have one thing not so positive to say and that’s the pool area they have 3 pools, adult and kid and slide area …. The kids pool area was filthy all types of things floating in the pool …. Band-Aid that was there when we got there was still in the pool on the 5th day …. Trash in the pool .. so to say that we didn’t do pool day in the pool because of this also they had a baby walking around naked which was kind of weird that nobody told them to put clothes on the baby no diaper or anything and the baby was in the pool naked.. poop and pee could have came out the toddler at any point …. So that was a bit disturbing that no workers told them to put a swim diaper on the child at least . And the chlorine was so strong in the pool that there is no way you can swim in it …. Your eyes would burn !! I believe once the pool area gets resolved it will be an amazing property !!!! It is very beautiful there .

Had to have bedding changed twice during stay because of stains on sheets. Food was really expensive and poor quality. Not worth the money at all. Watch for the resort fee and parking.

The Turtle Bay Resort is a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The property has a very high-end feel without being stuffy or pretentious. There are comfy places to relax inside and outside with the emphasis on natural fibers, woods, and hardscapes. The food is delicious. The sunset spot was my favorite, watching the sunset surfers. My other favorite spot was the comfy chaise on our balcony with the overstuffed pillows. I sat out there for hours watching the waves and the children play in the pool below. The room had ample storage and was extremely clean. The shower was amazing - so huge with both a rain fixture and a hand-held option. The property was large and had many fun hiking/biking trails to explore the area. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful family visit to the North Shore of Oahu. Turtle Bay exceeded our expectations in every aspect from the staff to the cleanliness, dining options, and overall hospitality.

We truly loved our stay at Turtle Bay. We have stayed there before their large renovation and the renovation is truly breathtaking. It is so relaxing and still great for families. Our son loved the kid's pool area and we loved getting to walk and bike to multiple beaches around the property. The rooms were clean and had beautiful ocean views. We loved having a wristband for the property instead of a hotel key card. Made it so convenient for the beach and pool. Most of the staff was super welcoming and helpful. We only had one or two instances of that not being the case.

We have stayed at this property 3 other times, this was our fourth. The prices have tripled now that it is a Ritz. It has yet to live up to a 5 star hotel, however. Most of the restaurants serve similar food- not enough variety. Little mistakes with food orders were the norm. Attention to detail is lacking despite friendly servers. They screwed up the billing on our room and had we not been proactive to sort it out, it would have remained a mess. There are no bathrobes in the rooms or lighted mirror for makeup. The pools for more than 1/2 our stay went un heated and was not at all inviting as a result. We thought we had arranged a changing room on our departure- leaving late to give us more time at the beach- only to have to push to get access to a shower because they were fully booked. They seem communication challenged honestly. While they did extend a small discount to us as a result of the billing mess, and send up a charcuterie board to again apologize, it’s just not worth the price tag because the service isn’t equal to the 900+ rack rate for a standard room. Also this hotel now has a ton of small children staying here so it’s great for families but not so much for couples. The adult pool is really tiny and all of the pools are very close together. What we have loved about this property is the proximity to the ocean and the amazing all day sound of surf. That will remain a priority when we consider returning to Hawai’i.

Absolutely beautiful. Staff is wonderful and friendly, super attentive. Beds were comfy and blankets soft. Spacious room with beautiful view. Only 2 complaints- the power went off in the early morning (5am) and was off for several hours. My family needs a fan to sleep so we all got an awful nights rest. I reached out and asked what was happening and it wasn’t until hours later that I got “we are sorry” Also, the surf lesson was a big disappointment. Very expensive and my son only got the try a wave 3-4 times. The shop tried to make it right (thank you!) but he wasn’t able to make it back for another lesson. Other than those two things, it was lovely.

It was beautiful and the staff was lovely. But the temperature in my room was beyond cold. I blasted the heater and put a towel under the door but there was still cold air coming in through the hallways. Don’t understand why be so wasteful. I had to put on layers to sleep and my face was frozen every day.

Amazing views, attentive service, range of options for a variety of food choices on property, super comfortable beds, beautiful sunsets and sunrises, great snorkeling spots right on the property, overalll amazing stay!

Great place to stay and be able to swim right out the back door of motel in bay or pool. Never felt crowded and service is great. Lots to explore on resort and around the north shore. Only complaint is I was really looking forward to a nice comfortable bed since it’s such a nice resort and the cost of staying there led me to believe they’d have top of the line beds, right? But no..they were so hard and stiff it was hurting my shoulders and hips. Woke up multiple times every night aching and sore in the morning. Big disappointment.

My husband and really I enjoyed our weeklong stay here, away from the crowds of Honolulu and Waikiki. Some people said they thought the resort was crowded, but we didn't find that true for us (we went in June). It was definitely worth the hour+ drive to stay on the North Shore. We loved all the hiking trails on the property with many "hidden" beaches all to ourselves (and a couple of turtles). We made use of the free bicycles as well, and they also have horses for those who want to ride. Our room/bathroom were spacious and comfortable, and the food at Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi was especially delicious. We hope to make the trip again someday!

Watching the surfers at sunset was a real treat. The complimentary workout classes were fantastic. We also enjoyed going snorkelling every day in Kuilima Cove. Saw resident turtle every day as well as two octopuses and plenty of fish. The only surprise was the daily parking fee. Would have assumed that this is included for hotel guests. Overall, would recommend this place to anyone looking for luxury stay on the north shore.

The staff at Turtle Bay were absolutely amazing and made us feel welcome at every turn

The only thing that may have justified the high price per night was the beautiful property and location. Other than that...no sense of traditional hospitality you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The service quality was average and appears selective at times. We found out at checkout that the hotel was unsurprisingly owned by a private equity firm. Lastly, and this is what ruined the whole stay for us, the ignorance shown by the staff at the Sunset restaurant at the pool side. We planned to have dinner there. When we arrived, we were completely ignored by the staff. I approached one waiter and got a curt answer that this is a walk-in only and if any table becomes available we can sit. Meanwhile, there were 3 small tables put together with a 'reserved' sign right next to where we stood. While in shock of the unwelcoming attitude, one lady customer stood up and asked if we would like to take her table. I was surprised but sensed that she sensed the rudeness from the staff towards us and was trying to help because there were still plenty of food on her and her friend's plates, but she insisted they were leaving anyway. We reluctantly took the table and after sitting down and having no appetite left, the restaurant staff and someone who looks like a manager started separating the 3 tables with the 'reserved' sign and make them available, then one family who arrived after us was promptly seated. What did we do? Got up and leave as fast as we could!! It's 2024?!

Spectacularly beautiful property with super friendly and helpful staff. Shout out to the night manager Michael who supported us through a scary health emergency requiring an ER visit. My only disappointment is that there is no hotel transportation from the hotel to local areas. No way to get home from the ER - we had to impose upon a kindly stranger. No way to get to the pharmacy for medications except the public bus. With a parking lot full of property owned vehicles, it seems there should be SOME means of supporting guests without a rental car, for emergent situations such as this.

We had a wonderful vacation at Turtle Bay. There are a ton of options from the pool to the beach, and there are more activities than any place we've stayed before. The staff and accommodations were top notch. Absolutely worth a visit.

The staff at this resort is exceptional- kind, helpful, unobtrusive and thoughtful. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We saw sea turtles, monk seal, and a variety of species of fish while snorkeling.

Everything was excellent other than the check in. They installed a new computer system a couple of days prior to our check in and they were having issues. Had to wait quite a bit in line to check in. Actually didn’t have our reserved room, but made amends. The hotel and grounds were outstanding. A lot of add in’s and options. Very friendly staff. Very nice stay.

The property was beautiful and the service was good for the most part. We stayed in the bungalows and therefore there is dedicated service to those rooms and that service was spectacular and very personal. Upper Management at this place should be fired and completely replaced. There are very few food options on the property and surrounding area, somehow they thought it was okay to block out the restaurants, canapies, and spa for a single group. Therefore all the other paying guests were outta luck. Compounded by the fact that this group rarely showed up to the blocked times. For that reason we docked 1.5 stars from the review.

If you are looking for a quintessential, tropical Hawaiian vacation look no further than the turtle Bay resort. From the second you walk in to their area, bright lobby with views of the waves and ocean on both sides you will never wanna leave. The area is peaceful and rural. Do not expect any nightlife other than what you make at the hotel. Food options are limited, but easy enough to deal with for a week. I was hesitant to even go to Oahu because of the amount of people that found the North Shore and turtle Bay resort to be everything I ever wanted in Hawaii, and better than anything that we’ve had on the other islands

Food was average and below compared to the ridiculous prices.

It's our second time coming to Turtle bay resort and pleased with our stay again. Hotel and amenities are top notch. Only downside is restaurants. Breakfast buffet is great but dinner menu is so poor. They need to give people more option with deeper dining menu at restaurant.

The only con is the limited amount of restaurants nearby. The hotel restaurants is really your only choice. The restaurants were great, but ridiculous pricing.

Limited dining everything closes early, and very expensive

Everything was great except for their so called signature restaurant Alaia. We both had the $90 Filet which was the same quality you could get at any road side diner. My wife’s steak had a vein of fat running through the middle and the sweet potato side was inedible. When we complained to the waiter who looked like he should be working as a butcher at a grocery store he offered to replace it with the smashed Parmesan potato’s. When they showed up 30 seconds later they were dry and hard like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for the last 2 hours. When we got the check which was over $300 we saw that he had charged us for the new potato that was also inedible! We complained to the concierge and the front desk about our experience but nothing was done about it. This is absolutely one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. Do yourself a favor and go to The Beach House offsite they are a high end restaurant that knows what their doing and it cost half as much!

Turtle Bay is a beautiful top level resort. Resort fees are high so be prepared. On Oahu no resort has the natural beauty views that this resort can provide. Ocean Club breakfast is great. Ocean club lunch and dinner options has room for improvement. Bathrooms are beautiful with rain showerheads and large tubs. It is the perfect place for family. More options for solo travelers are needed. Overall If you have the finances, Turtle Bay will provide the most beautiful natural views of Oahu that few resorts can provide.

Great resort! Everything is five star, except it is ridiculously expensive for food, drinks and spa. Same things are 1/3 - 1/2 the cost outside the resort.

We like having the option of going to the pool or the beach each day. We also like that there was a restaurant option available all day and through late evening. Some hotels we have gone to don't have options between breakfast and dinner even though they have a nice lobby area that would be perfect.
