This is a so so beach hotel. Its only ok because its on the beach. If it were a roadside hotel it would be a $30 a night place to stay. Saw cockroaches in our room. Not good. Only reason I say its ok was it was on the beach. Called the day before arrival and ask to be on ground floor due to us both being disabled veterans. They gave no consideration. Also told the lady checking in it was our 40th wedding anniversary. No congrats, no thank you for your service. Not nice !!!

I booked deluxe suite with pull out sofa and kitchenette. Get to my room long walk no elevator and it’s just a standard room. Went to desk she said that was the room I was assigned and that it was a “free upgrade “ because it’s a beach front walkout. It’s not an upgrade if I don’t get the amenities that I paid for. My booking clearly stated that there were 5 of us. Not smart to “upgrade “ us to a room with beds for 4. And the ac could not get the room below 79*

Overall a very good experience at the Chateau by the sea: Friendly and professional staff, a clean and very comfortable bed, a spacious room with a great view of the ocean and a fair price point that was right on the money. Location is also fantastic with direct beach access and the hotel is very close to shops and restaurants. However, the Chateau suffers from what I would call a slew of minor problems: Many of the TV channels were glitched-out and unwatchable, the drains for both the sink and toilet were slow and clogged, the ice machine on the top floor didn't work and neither did any of the shower stations around the pool. All of these issues could be remedied with more proactive maintenance. Still, a very good hotel and worth the stay. I rate the Chateau by the sea a 8.2 /10
