Chateau Beachfront Hotel, a By the Sea Resort

I liked that although they didn’t allow early check-in, we were still allowed to use the property facilities like the pool and game area. We got there about 12:30, so we stayed in the pool for a couple hours and walked to the beach easily from the back steps until our room was ready so we got much value for our one night stay. I also loved the grassed area and game area. Haven’t seen anything like that before. There was a super cute tiki bar by the pool and the staff was very friendly outside. My only complaint was the bathtub not being entirely clean, but it’s a tough job trying to get rooms ready for guests ready to check-in. So I understand. And there was also a bar missing on one of the railings over looking the pool. I have a 2 year old and he could definitely fit through it if he tried, I would get that fixed asap. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Pool bar was only open Thursday and Friday. They were out of some ingredients. No pool towels for the entire week. We had to beg for room towels and room service is only every 3 days. No floor cleaning. So, sand was everywhere. Lol the bathroom needed serious updates. Shower leaked badly. Some staff don't speak English but were nice. The beach access is wonderful! Amazing sunsets. Parking is very tight. Handicap parking extremely limited. No elevators so be prepared to carry everything down or upstairs.

Initially after check-in, we walked into a room with a broken AC. Room was 90 degrees. Maintenance was great and provided a new AC box resolving the issue within 1-2 hours. Beach view was superb and the pool area was very nice with a Tiki bar and live music. Beach access is just a few feet away. Definitely would stay again.

The property was fantastic with it's added amentities; a pool, lounge area with games & great views!!

The pool was nice so sad that people would just leave their trash and the chairs could of used a nice cleaning Laundry room was nice the gentleman that checked us in was absolutely amazing the cleaning staff not so much

Our family stays here every year & we love it! The staff is always nice & we love the pool & Tiki bar. I wish this hotel had elevators, that is literally the only negative part. We will definitely be staying here again though.

Pool was nice but the chairs are In need of a cleaning along with the deck area. Bathroom was worse than an outhouse. Location keeps this place going. Right off the beach and affordable. Tiki bar was awesome and the drinks delicious. But not open on Sunday. We had a ton of mold in the shower. The place is old and wore out. Needs a ton of cleaning and maintance. But overall it’s a good bang for your buck.

Staff was SUPER friendly. I cant emphasize this enough. I this this single characteristic best defines a lodging location. Caveat: This hotel was rently purchased from Best Western and there are renovations ongoing. Bad: They charge for ice!!! Yeah. Ice machine is pay per service. That sux. We has a room with a kitchenette. But, only had one knife and no cooking utensils. No trash can in kitchenette or bedroom. Cable TV was pretty crappy. Bad reception, for the most part. Good. Did i mention a friendly staff? Parking was plentiful and accessible. Pool was heated to 84 degrees. EASY beach access (ON the beach). Laundry was free with good machines. Fridge and microwave worked great. Shower had plenty of hot water. Balcony provided view of pool area AND Gulf. Key cards kept crapping out and not working, but front desk personnel quickly made new ones each time... with a smile and kind words each time We will stay here again. No question. Im guessing the renovations will result in some improvements

It's affordable. Seems family oriented. Good spot next to restaurants and of course it's a beachside hotel. Cleanliness could be better. Shower had hairs and was extremely slippery at first. Beds seemed to still have a bit of sand when I first got the room.

No one cleaned our room and there were bugs coming out of the drain

My room was disgusting. Stains on the pillows and sheets. Smelled putrid of mold, mildew, and dirty mop water. Saw the dried dirt trails on the floor from what I would assume was mopping. A dead roach in the tub indicating it wasn’t even cleaned or looked at. Mold and very rusty around toilet and tub. Did not look like the pictures at all. I checked in at 4pm and was gone by 4:30. I refused to shower or lay my head down in that nasty room. I called front desk to ask for a room change, they insisted on housekeeping to come clean, but I didn’t even wait long for housekeeping. The room was too stank to just stay in so I returned my keys. The end.

Once receiving keys. My room wasn’t cleaned throughly Hair in bathroom on the floor and in the shower. Sand and dust and dirt on floors and on the furniture and countertops.

The location is beautiful but the room condition was horrible!! the sheets had spots all over both beds, we couldn’t shower because when we turned water on brown stuff was coming out, the room smelled like mold, spots all over floors and walls!! Hotel need renovations room didn’t have any phones for us to call and report to front desk. Check in was easy but you do have to pay a deposit along with resort fee. Customer service was great!

Absolutely disgusting, rusty tub with a ring if grime and did not drain, other people's hair still in the bathroom and on the dishes in the kitchen, rusty microwave, roaches!!! Yes i said roaches!! We checked in at 7pm and they already had ppl complaining about how dirty their room was so it took them 20 mins just to check me in. I should have asked for a refund then but id driven 6 hours and just wanted food and a shower. Went to diner before we looked at the bathroom and kitchen and when we got back is when we discovered how gross the room was and the clogged tub when we tried to shower. Called to have someone come to unclog and clean and they came but they did not fix it or clean. This was 11:30pm abd we had to go to bed w/o a shower. The property did not offer another room or any relief in fact they did not even unclog the tub until noon the next day. Mind you i payed $250 a night to stay in thus disgusting place and we were stuck away from home on a weekend so other places were already fully booked. The property managers do not care about you or your comfort. I got no resolution and left feeling grossed out and cheated. The pictures are not representative of the property. In person its dirty, dilapidated and unsafe. The staff is so used to complaints they just stand there and listen but do nothing. Do not stay here. Please no not stay here. I wish i could post pictures.

Got to the hotel at 3 o'clock. Told us we had to wait because they were cleaning the room. We get into the room which was 2 Queen beds beach view, 2nd floor with a kitchen. We go to the room. And has gum stuck to the floor food on the floor eye boogers on my bed with a eyelash.. Blood stain on my bed stove was dusty room was not swept. Love bugs all over the place. One top of the AC unit inside the room holes in the ceiling, no fire alarm. Went down. Complained, about be moved. She told me she was fully booked but moved. Another lady came back down.my husband Talk to the manager, he was apologizeing They are taking over the hotel. They're gonna fix it up. He did give me a free meal and 2 free drinks. When back to the room all they did to Is sweep, the floor did not get up. All the bugs change my bed. The gum was still on the floor stove was still dusty looked like its never been used and bugs was still on top of the AC unit. The ratings say comfortable beds, Yes, it has a great view.Beds are not comfortable, did not get no sleep.I was very disappointed but I will give them another shot.After they remodel, the staff was nice manager was apologetic. But on the downside, they tried to charge my card today and already paid them before the trip. And manager was nice apologetic.They're trying to fix the problem but he'll clean the rooms whose ever clean in a room's does not care and why? I had to wait for an hour while they were cleaning my room to get checked in when they did

No water pressure and the water was barely warm when taking a shower. I even saw bugs in the room. I would not recommend and I will not be staying there again.

Our check in times was 4pm. When we got there at 4pm the office was packed of ppl. Waiting for their rooms to be cleaned so we all could check in. Our room wasn't ready till almost 7pm. We went to dinner and waited on the beach. The floors in our room was covered in sand. The bedding had stains. It was gross. I went out and bought new bedding. And the bathroom was old and falling apart. I called around to see if we could stay somewhere else but everything was full. Spring break. The hallways in the mornings had food beer cans bottles everywhere. The pool also had food trash and cigarettes floating in it. The only nice thing there was we could walk to the beach from our room. We will never stay there again.

The hotel stated it had been renovated and updated. It looked like they applied a coat of white paint to everything and that was it. The toilet seat was old and worn. There was black mildew on the bathroom floors, and there were bugs everywhere. It looked like a room from the late 80s that someone applied a white coat of paint too. It was very disappointing.

They put us in the wrong room at first. We paid for a room with kitchen and didn’t get one. The ladies that worked the daytime shift didn’t seem to care. Took all day the second day to get it resolved. Other than that, our stay was amazing!

Front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. View from room was wonderful and queen beds was as comfortable, if not more so, than our beds at home. Only drawback was we went during a major Harley Davidson event. But room managed to keep 90% of the noise out.

Terrible stay. Broken tub faucet. Broken glass on the balcony. No ice except to purchase at $6 per bag. Staff attitude!!! A mistake trying this hotel a second time. First time not as bad as this.

The AC unit was very loud and made it extremely hard to sleep at night. The hotel cleaning crew didn't offer to clean our room not even once throughout our 7 day stay. We hinted at needing a broom to clean-up the sand off the floors and they just pointed us to the front desk to ask for one. They did offer us more towels after the third day. There was low water pressure in the shower and our bathroom sink took forever to drain. The hotel pool was heated which doesn't make sense because you're wanting to cool off from the hot and humid Florida weather when getting in a pool. The biggest downside to our trip was all the algae for our last 3 days of our stay(late July) that was near the shore making it uncomfortable to swim in the ocean, which isn't the hotels fault.The rooms were nice overall and the view of the sunsets, beach, & the ocean from the balcony was amazing.

Location is great as is parking. In our room the toilet was shorter than a normal height toilet, quite a bit of black mold on chalking and the shower was missing a plunger on its faucet so you couldn’t take a shower??

We had a room with a kitchenette and our refrigerator didn’t work. The freezer worked a little. We made a complaint 4 times and nothing was ever done to fix it. We lost over $100 worth of food.

The hotel needs to be remodeled. The advertising photos don't reflect reality; they seem to have been filtered. On the plus side, it has a good location and an excellent beach area.

The property is going through some sort of renovation. This should have been relayed during reservation process. The room had HORRENDOUS Oder in the room could not get rid of. Hotel is beside a night club-loud at night, especially with crowd leaving late night. Hope water ran out after 2 minutes in shower.

Room wasn’t ready for a few hours after promise. Service was horrible, front desk even warned me before heading to the room of “staff not being the best since Trump was elected”.

We had a very pleasant experience staying here. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so we were given a parking pass and told we could use the facilities and beach access while we waited. Our room was just steps from the beach. We'd definitely stay here again!

We arrived earlier than check in time and was told our room was not ready, which was fine at the time. Then we experienced strong storms and had to shelter in a store for a couple hours, and when we called for an update we were met with rudeness and told “it will be soon”. We arrived 5 min before check in time, and saw 3 other people come and go before us with their rooms ready and I was told a 3rd time our room wasn’t ready and there was no timeframe when it would be. Mind you, this was a standard king bed room so not something extravagant. This was in the middle of severe storms that we were out in for a few hours, and when I expressed my concern the front desk associate rolled her eyes at me and then another told me “it was a training day.” Are you serious? I asked for the GM and was met with the assistant GM who offered me an upgrade at no cost and was ground floor, ocean view. I appreciate what she did, but there was no reason for this trouble. The staff there besides the assistant GM were all rude and unprofessional. I will not be staying here again.

Check in was unpleasant. The older lady in the office was very rude (we were told the same thing by other guests). We did arrive early and was rudely told that no room until 4. Totally understandable. But at 4, we were told it would be another 40 minutes. 40 minutes later, we were standing outside our room while housekeeping finished cleaning. Once inside and unpacked, discovered the AC unit wasn’t cooling the room. We did get a brand new unit installed within an hour. It was not a pleasant way to start of vacation. We did enjoy the pool and beach!

The stay was nice. Right on the beach. Pool area was nice with a bar poolside. Front desk staff was nice. Only complaint was the room was not ready when we got there but they gave us free drinks and a food voucher to make up for it. House keeping was rude to the front desk clerk for asking her to take some towels to a room that called for service. The clerk still handled it very professionally. Overall a nice stay. Would stay again.

The property has been improving over the last several years since we have been staying there. Much cleaner and improve Tiki bar. Just didnt like not being able to get into our room until 5:30 pm when check in is 4. It is not the paying guest problem that 160 guest check out and 3 staff called out. Welcome to post covid.

Staff was so incredibly inconvenient called about getting new sheets due to sand and dirt being in bed they never came. Tried to call the front desk the phone nor clock did not work. Was told to check in at 4pm got there at 5:30pm room wasn’t still available, I wasn’t able to check in close to 8pm. The lady at the front desk was so unprofessional. Multiple people who was staying there was at the front complaining about multiple issues also.

Bad experience checking in. Credit card got a fraud charge from chateau at check in, 963.00? My reservation was paid in full in April. Cancelled card. Incidentals were supposed to be $100., held $200? Resort fee 104.72 I knew nothing about. Two women were rented our room, came in on me just out of shower. Key cards were deactivated everyday. Front desk never answered phone. Room was clean and comfy. Fourth floor with no elevator was hard. Outside staff friendly and helpful. Great pool and access to beach. Tiki bar had good food and drinks. Location was convenient.

It's a 60 year old hotel and it shows. I'm sure it was the place to be in 1966, but It's a bit rundown now. Not terrible, but showing it's age. On the positive side, our room was clean, and it is right on the beach, so location, location, location. If you're looking for an inexpensive place on the beach, this will work.

Being minimal steps from the beach was great! Walking distance to Capt Jacks and many other resturants and shops. Very convienient location. We will stay here again in the future.

No elevator to go down 3 flights of stairs with bags was dissapointing, had to wait till 6.30pm to get our room again disappointing they could do better hotel in prime area on the beach, but needs work

The property is right on the beach, excellent location is easy to move around from there. We took the kids to the public park is 21 minutes and also we went to Pier Park is in very close. Definitely we have good time

Absolutely loved the location and the easy walk to the beach. The room was ok, nothing fancy….could use some updating but it served its purpose. I will be back as long as I’m on the 1st floor. The proximity to the beach makes the rest of it unimportant.

While the exterior looks outdated, the view from the beachfront room made the experience worth the stay. The staff was great. There was a bonfire on the beach with smores one night and live music by the pool each evening. The only complaint was the shower, which lacked pressure. Overall, would stay again based on experience and price difference from some of the neighboring hotels.

Appearance is average, pool is a pretty good size. View of the beach from our room is great! Front desk was friendly.

The checking was quick and easy. The bar and food was very convenient for us. The food was delicious. Our only complaint was the college students were very loud and we couldn't sleep.

we enjoyed our stay at chateau. i would like to mention our bartender at the tiki bar trish! she was incredible. great service and fantastic personality. she was attentive and made sure we were happy at all times. despite alot of people at times she was right on top of it. thanks trish as you made our stay most enjoyable!! MF

I think they close pool and tiki bar to early. The assistant manager Denise was very helpful and seemed to enjoy her job. Nice lady.

Great Location, lovely restaurant Harpoon Harry’s next door. Just a few things that would be so easy to fix 1. No safe in the room. If you haven’t got them ,don’t promise them. 2. The write up promised super fast broadband, when I checked the download speed, 3Mb per second 3- in house coffee restricted to 3 cups per day ( if they do your room, which they didn’t. TBF when I complained, I got a good supply. The place needs an on the button General Manager

Great location, alot to see within walking distance. Beach is great, very little waves and water was clear. Pool was good for both adults and kids. Tiki bar was cute. Drinks were good and fried pickles were good as well. Front desk was very helpful. All in all it's a good place for the price and it has everything you need, just needs a little TLC. Will definitely be visiting again before year ends.

We came down for a quick beach trip. Our room was clean, Updated, and comfortable. It was so relaxing by the pool and ocean. Tiki bar was great. It was within walking distance to great restaurants. We will definitely book here again.
