Hotel location and rooms were nice. However, they were remodeling during our stay. So, the pool and food services were unavailable. I really wished it was stated beforehand, I would have chosen a different hotel. The pool was a feature that we were looking forward to.

Hotel is under construction! This was not disclosed when booking! POOL closed, GYM closed. RESTAURANT closed. Only 2 out of 4-5 elevators working. Construction noise started at 8 AM everyday. Hot water in shower was minimal & loud noise from shower head anytime it turned on. Parking is also $40 extra a night.

Hotel was under major renovations.. no amenities that were supposed go along with my booking. No houskeeping services, complimentary breakfast was a joke. Bagels, yogurts and a few pieces of fruit that had seen better days. The parking garage is treacherous and worse by people parking wherever they want (not in parking spaces) and nightly parking fee expensive. All in all the stay was really unsatisfactory and I can not recommend this place. Find another hotel in the district there are plenty of better options.

Parking is $40 a night and soooo tight, anything bigger than a regular sedan will be a toght squeeze on the ramps. One night the only parking left was on the top floor - half under construction and poorly lit, felt very unsafe

I was not informed about the major construction going on on-site during my visit. I was looking forward to a workout and then relaxing at the pool, but they were closed. The smell was powerful throughout the hotel. The VERY loud construction was two doors down from my room during the day and started at 7:52 am! The toilet bubbled up loudly at 3:00 am and woke me up both nights. The hotel offered a "light" breakfast to make up for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, they did not consider visitors with dairy or gluten allergies. The hotel charged $40 a night, even though it was difficult to park on the street because of the hotel's construction. I was incredibly disappointed with my stay.

If I would have known pool area closed gym closed, before someone telling me at check in I would not have booked this hotel, several signs states no smoking, our entire floor smelled like weed and cigarettes, 7, parking garage was a joke , people parking in no parking areas very hard to maneuver around, no hot breakfast, definitely waste of money and time

Didnt like that I had to ask for room to be cleaned. Parking garage was hard to navigate through, tight ramps. The ciew was really nice and i liked how close it was to shops and restaurants. This area seemed to be safe and clean.

Under renovation so the noise through the workday was expected. Under new management as well so the new level of customer service between old and new staff was apparent. The property’s entrance smelled of urine from the homeless population in the downtown area - why they don’t simply flush this down daily is beyond me.

Property is nice , room was clean and comfortable , parking was so inconvenient ! Stepped out and by the time we came back no parking at property , had to park a block down the first night , second night drove about an hour to find parking again. Staff at Desk not very friendly , other than Paola and all cleaning staff very friendly and always smiled at guest.

Room could've been cleaner. Hair was all over the bathroom from someone's previous stay. The hotel is under final stages of renovation so expect dust, paint smell and a little noise. Make sure to not go to the Front Street entrance because it's blocked off. Also, hotel is labeled Courtyard by Marriott which caused a bit of confusion. After the construction is finished, I will be returning for another visit. All the things I didn't quite like were either temporary or easily fixed things. Staff was 10/10!

The sheets had a couple of blood stains and the windows were left open which resulted in having a couple spiders inside the room. But the room is spacious and a good deal. Nice view of the city though.

The room was clean and spacious but had a strong odor and was extremely noisy due to the freeway—so loud I had to check if the balcony door was closed. Staff felt unfriendly; no greeting or smile from anyone. Pillow had a makeup stain. Nice-looking hotel, but the experience felt more like a cheap motel.

Could hear everyone and everything around us. The tub still had sand in it from previous guests. The parking garage had the most narrow entrance and exit ramps, in a minivan and had a hard time maneuvering. Otherwise it was a good location and close to Balboa Park

This is hotel is currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION. It seems as though the Marriot must have purchased this and is now in the process of refurbishing. The new lobby opened when we were there. There is no pool, fitness center. Tiny area for a very light continental breakfast without other food options. Room: Clean and older but recently refurbished. Fridge, coffee maker. Hot water took a long time to heat up and shower pressure was poor. AC very noisy. New mattresses and reasonably comfortable. Location: Little Italy. This makes it walkable to most of downtown depending on your fitness level. We walked to the zoo, balboa park, petco, gaslamp, seaport. It is RIGHT next to the highway and our room was positioned on that side so it was pretty noisy.

What we liked about this property was that we were given a room on a high floor with a gorgeous city view. The location was also very convenient because we were close to all of the restaurants in little Italy. What we did not like about this property was the parking lot. The entrance to the parking lot was so narrow and you could see skid marks on the walls from other cars that hit. There was also construction going on early in the morning which affected our rest. Thankfully the manager, Maryanne, was very understanding and was able to provide us our desired resolution. Probably would not stay here again until the construction is completed however we did love the location.

The room I stayed in 720 the curtains do not shut all the way so you wake up with the sun hitting your face if you are sleeping on the bed next to the balcony. Booked for 4 people but towels left for 2.

Our original room was stuffy and smelled like it hadn't been used in a while. The wife's sinuses acted up immediately. We let the front desk know and they gave us a new room immediately without question. Aside from the renovations, which were not advertised and someone at the desk telling us they are to busy to bring us towels to come grab them ourselves, I recommend this place after the renovations are complete for sure. The suite is a roomy and excellent choice.

Im honestly surprised there are some bad reviews. The service was amazinf and I had no idea it was a marriott hotel. Shoutout to Rebecca and the other staff who printed out some papers for me. THey also gave us a welcome treat. Great location as well

I spent just shy of $1,400. I should have seen the red flag to begin with. As soon as we checked in the gentleman working at the front desk had answered the phone and dealt with a customer. When he hung up he said boy customers are so needy they want service and they've only been here one day. I should have known at that point that this was going to be a problem stay. Second thing that happened is the card reader in the elevator does not work properly. You tap and tap and tap your room card and the floor doesn't light up until you have tapped it at least five or six times flipping the card all different ways. Then we did not get service for our room for 2 days I went down to the front desk and asked if we can get service being that we are staying a week and they asked if we wanted service every day or towels. I said I would like towels everyday and a full service every other day. When it came our day for full service they skipped us. I went down to the hotel desk and asked if I could just get some fresh towels keep in mind this is at 5:00 p.m. Come 10:00pm I still never received the towels I had to go down very abruptly and ask for towels, I did not think this was a big ask being that I am staying in a hotel. They said they would send someone up 30 minutes later someone shows up with sheet. I said I don't need cheats I need towels. Then he finally gets the towels. I did not think this would be s

My check in was the best due to the help of Daniel at the front desk , he was able to check me in early 😉 then when I asked him about the pool he informed me it was closed with construction 😞 Daniel then came up with a suggestion that maybe a sister property would allow me to use their pool 😎 Daniel made several phone calls and made it happen! The hotel and most of the staff were wonderful! However, our initial encounter with the front desk upon arrival was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. His name was Daniel, and he was so incredibly unkind and almost abrasive at first contact. I heard his interactions with the guest before AND after me, and he was a lot kinder. I greeted him and tried to make polite conversation and asked how his night was and if they’d been busy (given his demeanor) he seemed SUPER annoyed and responded that they were busy because of “all of you guys coming here from Arizona” He spoke to me as if I was incompetent and inconveniencing him, because I very gently asked him to repeat where we needed to go. He sent us to the wrong room, and when we came back he looked even more frustrated and asked what we needed. When I told him it wasn’t the right room (we needed two beds and this room had a king) he responded annoyed yet again “Well???Was it clean?” As if that should have been good enough and I shouldn’t be coming to him. At this point I was so frustrated I snapped and told him that didn’t matter, because it wasn’t what I paid for. I’m not a confrontational person and I tried to be kind to him initially, because everybody has there days. But it was another level of rude for NO REASON. Once I finally snapped at him, his whole demeanor changed and he turned on his customer service attitude. He later showed up to our room to “check on” us. Probably trying to covering his booty 😂

Central location in Little Italy section of Downtown San Diego. Easy walking distance to Midway, tour boats, and the Farmers Market. Plenty of nearby bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. Hotel staff are helpful. Rooms good sized and comfortable.

The description of the amenities for the hotel included an onsite restaurant, a gym and a pool. These affected my decision to book this hotel over othersI was considering in the area, so imagine my surprise when NONE of these were available and "under construction.". While it's nice that these mean improvements to the hotel which will benefit future occupants, it did nothing for me. The free breakfast was a nice gesture, although it consisted of carb-heavy options such as fruit, bagels, juice boxes and yogurt. No hot food such as eggs or breakfast meats. Better than nothing, but worth noting if this is a consideration when comparing hotels. Reasonably clean overall, although the frame around my bed was a little dusty. Clean, comfortable room regardless. Plenty of great eating spots a few blocks from the hotel, although the immediate surrounding area outside the hotel near the expressway had homeless tents and seemed a bit desolate after dark. overall, not a bad experience and the staff was exceptional, but absent the features I mentioned, there might be better options until the construction is finished.

Property under construction many advertised amenities not available. Breakfast was just coffee rolls yoghurt not full breakfast. Parking was difficult due to very narrow passages to get to each level. Location was good maybe in future will be up to okay level
