The hotel is very old, and the noise keeps you awake at night. The pool is very dirty. The bathroom pipes make a loud, constant noise. The light and fan are horrible because they keep clicking and you have to turn them off, which is impossible to regulate. They don't notify you or send you reminders when you have to leave, and I had to pay an extra $75 for three hours. Aside from all that, the staff is very friendly and courteous.

This is a compound of small buildiings, including 4 built in the early 1900's, now on the National Register of Historic Places. On the South side of the Miami River, it seems light-years away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Miami, though just a walk across the bridge. We first stayed there in the early 80's, when they were in the process of renovating the original boarding house, and really enjoyed our stay then. Life happened, and we didn't make it back until now. We were pleasantly surprised by what they've done, with the well-kept grounds, quiet spaces and shady tropicals. The staff is very welcoming and eager to please. The bar and restaurant were closed during our stay (in the early part of the week) so we didn't get to check that out. But we'll be back!!

I booked this hotel specifically for the pool and bar. Upon arrival, I discovered the bar was closed indefinitely. I sat by the pool which would have been lovely had it not been full of leaves, dirt and human hair. Asked if anyone was able to clean it and got a shrug. The room was lovely as was the outside areas and it could be such a nice place but such a disappintment. Would not book again and feel I wasted my money.

Really awful rom, so basic. Not at all like the photos. View of a rubbish tip. Wooden chair to sit on, single duvet (without cover ) on double bed. Pool shut and we were not advised. No glasses or anything in bathroom or room. No where to hang a towel. Bedside lamp didn’t work. Windows grimy and filthy. I could go on. Location not great. Taxi driver couldn’t find it. I d seen so many mixed reviews before I visited so I was wary before I travelled. On arrival the lady on reception spent 10 minutes on the phone not once acknowledging us. The grounds are nice n quirky . But there is a dj playing music until 11 on all 3 nights we was there.the rooms were ok but not coffee making facilities. Got a drink at the bar were I was charged a tip of $2 just for being served!! Decent price for Miami but average stay

The hotel bar was under renovation when we stayed there. The pool and courtyard offer a nice sitting area. We were allowed to check our luggage before the room was ready, which was nice. The young woman at the desk was helpful. The hotel offers water, beer, and wine for purchase on-site. Although it seemed like a rough area, the hotel felt mostly safe. There is a gate that gets locked at night. The room below us had at least 5 dogs that caused an odor that radiated throughout the hallway. The price was decent for a place to stay before hopping on our cruise ship.

We were checking in at 11pm at night After fumbling around with the digital lock and poor lighting. We opened the door and found a person in the bed sleeping. They did find us another room and escorted us there. Be aware there are no elevators. So you will be lugging up your luggage. Bed was comfortable. The room we stayed in needs a good cleaning. Homeless people can be seen sleeping from our windows. But there was a large fence around property. So didn’t feel to unsafe. We did walk around the neighborhood in the daytime and felt it was fine. There is a nice park across the street on the river. Very nice. I wasn’t expecting too much , being a historical building. Very charming. Just a little cleaner would be nice.

Super great location and a super cool property. That’s really well maintained. They were cleaning it every morning from the wind, knocking leaves down and stuff. It’s a very tropical staff was super nice as well.

There was hair and blood stains on the sheet. There was hair in the shower. The keyless entries were sounding alarms all night from other people having trouble getting in the rooms kept me up all night. Had a horrible night of sleep and the train all night when I asked to speak to a manager, they would not let me speak to a manager. I would like a refund. I stay there one night and had to book a hotel for a second night and double my cost because I refuse to sleep there a second night. I only reserved The second night through hotels.com.

The facility is fabulous but it needs tender loving care tlc.. the room wasnt vacuumed in a while, toilet kept running, AC was centralized and sort of got the room cool, 1 window shade was broke. It's sad cause the property is awesome!

This stay ended up terrible. Linens had blood, when we asked for them to be replaced the second linens had urine on them. Dust, dead bugs, and weird brown stuff on the floors. Hair all over the bathroom. Staff was unhelpful and rude when we complained.

I really liked the staffs, but the room itself was not the best. There was only one room service in our 3-day stay, we could not control the ac, and the shampoo provided gave us the worst rash. The closet and the balcony had so much dirt, and outside area was full of dumpster all over. Overall, it was a really bad, almost terrible stay.

Staff were friendly and super helpful but the reason I gave it a low rating is because of cleanliness. I stayed in two different rooms in the span of two days. Looks like both of those rooms were not cleaned or freshen up whatsoever. The floors were dirty, carpet rugs not vacuumed. Restrooms were filthy. I saw noticeable stains. I used to love this inn back when it was called the Selena but looks like it’s been neglected with new management? It’s a lovely inn with lots of plants, garden feel vegetation, just wished they took more time and work to maintain and clean it well. It’s a shame, there’s so much potential.

The walk to our room took us through what appeared to be a junkyard. Our room door was stained with mud splashes. The room did not have a TV or AC controls, which were needed on a cool evening. OK value.

The inn was just as described the two bedrooms are spacious and clean. The area is also close to stadium which is why we were there. The bar on site was a great place to grab a drink and the Spanish restaurant around the corner was amazing. My family loved it and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely stay here anytime we go to a baseball game.

Generally charming, but old and bordering on run down. The property plays loud mysic until 1am on some nights (Saturday in my case) in a central tented area between buildings and the property is right next to a commuter train crossing or something that went off every ten minutes. So, quiet it is not. Staff seemed friendly enough and i didnt have any issues there. Room was small but comfortable, but the shower lacked pressure.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel truly deserves it. The location felt dangerous/sketchy. The accommodations were extremely disappointing—definitely not what was advertised. I was given a room on the fourth floor with no elevator, which was completely unreasonable, especially with luggage. The building felt neglected and poorly maintained. I ended up checking out earlier than planned. I sent multiple text messages to the number posted at the reception door (there was no staff around), and no one ever responded. Despite leaving early and trying to communicate, I was still charged for the extra day I didn’t stay. Poor communication, bad service, and just a terrible overall experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Prior to arriving I message the customer service representative about early check in and was told that I could check in at 12 without any additional cost, when I arrive I asked Stephanie if I would leave my bags and come back at 12 to check in she said ok but there’s a additional fee for early check in. I asked if the room was available and she said yes I then showed her the email with customer service , Stephanie was very dismissive to the prior conversation with the customer service rep, I showed her the message and she looked them up on her end as well she then said she was the manager and I had to pay the additional fee. Receptionist was rude. I asked for the packages that were delivered by Amazon to the location. First the receptionist stated they didn’t have anything (even though I could clearly see my package in their storage area. They asked me to show a photo and the photo showed it was delivered to the reception desk. I asked to speak to the manager and staff refused. I asked them to look at the camera in the reception area and staff refused. I asked to go into the storage room with staff to find the package and the staff refused. This is hands down the worse hotel that I have ever stayed at. Staff will not take responsibility for the missing package that was delivered to the reception desk! To get to the room I had to walk thru some dimly lit back alley. I cannot believe this type of hotel exists. I’m a landlord and have seen slumlords do a better job than what I’ve experienced.

On the side of the building we were at they had a bunch of trash such as old furniture etc from the previous bar that was at this location. We stayed in 407 C so we would hear the people go up and down the stairs all night, the front door must not close correctly because we’d wake up with it open. The bed would also sink by our heads. The location is close to a lot of places and the bar onsite is nice and you get a discount but the hotel def needs some help.

I lived in Miami my whole life and drove by this place 1000 times and never knew how cool it was inside. I don’t think I’ll ever stay in any place else when I visit home again the fact that they even have a little bar next-door that you can go to. It was just awesome. The location can’t be beat. It’s so centrally located to everything yet. Such a quiet, little isolated, tropical paradise the staff was super nice too.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel truly deserves it. The location felt dangerous/sketchy. The accommodations were extremely disappointing—definitely not what was advertised. I was given a room on the fourth floor with no elevator, which was completely unreasonable, especially with luggage. The building felt neglected and poorly maintained. I ended up checking out earlier than planned. I sent multiple text messages to the number posted at the reception door (there was no staff around), and no one ever responded. Despite leaving early and trying to communicate, I was still charged for the extra day I didn’t stay. Poor communication, bad service, and just a terrible overall experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Didn’t want to pay 600-1K a night for a hotel during an event. So I decided to give this a shot for a fraction of the price. Clean and the staff was friendly. Excellent place to stay if you don’t want to break the bank. Not too far from Bayfront Park.

Very unique property, lovely tropical feel. Large private lounging area outside, nice pool. Staff very friendly and accomaditing. Room is clean with the basic needs. Bar/restaurant on site - empanadas are amazing!!!

The workers were very friendly, the bar area was very cute, drinks were very pricey. The pool closed very early. The room looked much different than what was expected. It was mostly clean but a little run down. There also was no hot water in the shower.

This hotel is adorable. I reserved a room, but was upgraded to an “apartment”. It’s kitschy and bohemian. The restaurant/ bar was such a lovely environment with palm trees and plants. Staff was friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Highly recommend The Miami River Inn for an off the beaten path, relaxing Miami experience ❤️

This is a compound of small buildiings, including 4 built in the early 1900's, now on the National Register of Historic Places. On the South side of the Miami River, it seems light-years away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Miami, though just a walk across the bridge. We first stayed there in the early 80's, when they were in the process of renovating the original boarding house, and really enjoyed our stay then. Life happened, and we didn't make it back until now. We were pleasantly surprised by what they've done, with the well-kept grounds, quiet spaces and shady tropicals. The staff is very welcoming and eager to please. The bar and restaurant were closed during our stay (in the early part of the week) so we didn't get to check that out. But we'll be back!!

The hotel charges a $10 hotel fee for each guest. The fee is for parking, pool towels, and common kitchen use. I told them I don’t have a car I will be getting around with Uber and I still have to pay. As well as the common kitchen, I asked is it with a safety lock because anyone can take your stuff. They said that they are not responsible for any stolen/taken items. They have a nice small/cozy restaurant with good food but is only open on the weekends.. so, if you are staying during the week you need to eat outside of the hotel.

I d seen so many mixed reviews before I visited so I was wary before I travelled. On arrival the lady on reception spent 10 minutes on the phone not once acknowledging us. The grounds are nice n quirky . But there is a dj playing music until 11 on all 3 nights we was there.the rooms were ok but not coffee making facilities. Got a drink at the bar were I was charged a tip of $2 just for being served!! Decent price for Miami but average stay

The young woman at the desk was helpful. The hotel offers water, beer, and wine for purchase on-site. Although it seemed like a rough area, the hotel felt mostly safe. There is a gate that gets locked at night. The room below us had at least 5 dogs that caused an odor that radiated throughout the hallway. The price was decent for a place to stay before hopping on our cruise ship.

Cute place with shady pleasant setting. However there could be better maintenance of the grounds. Standing water on the walkway. This is our second visit and we had to leave a day early because the AC went out and couldn’t be fixed due to the weekend. Place was clean and suited our needs for just one night. However, the music kept us up until the morning hours and when we contacted management, the answer was that they could 'ask' the bar to turn it down. I thought Miami had quiet hours starting at 11pm but the bar was allowed to play music until 1am??
