Very good value for money hotel, with comfortable bed in a clean room. The hotel is 10-15 minute walk from the centre, and even if the car park is a little small, there is free parking right next to it. Staff were extremely welcoming and efficient, and we will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is an old converted house, room as expected. Not a bad size, old bed not very comfortable but the shower worked well. Upon arrival I was informed the Restaurant was closed for the evening and the Car park was full so had to park in a corner blocking other guests in, but there was no problem with that. Nothing special but OK for a one night stop over

Warmly greeting on our arrival. We had a room along the corridor from reception area so not much walking, this was requested in our reservation. A superb family run busy, plenty of different lounges to sit in. Good choice of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit & cooked breakfasts to order

I liked Harry on reception, he was very helpful & friendly. The bedroom was spacious & clean. The car park was free & convenient. The property had a lift, great for my mother & taking our luggage up to our room. The heating was on, during this difficult time of high heating costs. living room furniture was a little tired, but the location, cost in pounds to stay there was reasonable & staff were helpful.

This is a comfortable hotel with good breakfasts, friendly service and spaces to sit and relax. The quiet location is perfect for theatres, art gallery, restaurants and seafront. The car park is a real bonus; I can leave the car and walk everywhere.

I was happy for the parking and not only that, but the electric charging available. I came in a non-busy weekend I guess as there were lots of space. My room was enough for me. Wish it was near sea but not. Internet fine in room. I bet some can have problems getting in shower though as it was narrow. Place has bar and lots of lounges you can relax. Breakfast has lots of variety to choose, the server was a little grumpy and not that polite to me. Bar man and receptionist was fine.

Very comfortable and beautifully clean room and en-suite. Staff all very friendly, helpful and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. Was delighted to receive a welcome email with key information a few days before arrival - requested a mattress topper and it was in place when we arrived. Breakfast absolutely gorgeous, treat to have proper toast not just warm bread. Staff serving breakfast particularly caring and helpful - 1st time we’ve ever tipped breakfast waiting team in hotel! Old building so some minor damage but doesn’t detract from overall experience. Certainly recommend and would be our choice if staying in Eastbourne again. 2 minutes walk from Congress Theatre. Perfect for our stay

Arrived and room had no heating and didn't work. Smell of gas was very concerning. The manager however did try to reassure us and moved us. The room we moved to had poor cleanliness, used towels in the room, toilet in poor state and room was in poor upkeep, nets on windows were very dirty.

Great deal on a great hotel. Quiet, comfortable with a fabulous breakfast. All staff friendly and welcoming. Period hotel- I know, but some areas dated and some areas needed cleaners to pay closer attention to details. But by and large clean. We would return.

The car parking situation was a bit stressful as there weren’t any spaces for us when we arrived. Staff were fairly unhelpful and did not create a sense of trust (porter wanted to hold on to my car keys for no clear reason). The bathroom seemed ok from a distance but towel rail and sink was rusty and the sink was not clean when we arrived. Overall the room was ok, the carpet was stained but at least the bed was big.

Whilst the majorty of the property is dated and needs some TLC the bathroom in particular the shower needed urgent attention to deal with rust and mould. The bed was extremely comfortable though. The staff great and breakfast was hot and fresh.

The rooms were ok, clean but could do with a fresh lick of paint. The main reason I may not stay there again was a man who shouted obscenities at 6.30am for about an hour and again in the evening around 11.00pm on a patch of green behind the hotel. It may have been a homeless person who was living in a tent there. Reception said that they could do nothing about it and that the police were not interested in solving the problem. Some neighbours pleaded with him to be quiet as they had children who were trying to sleep but he continued none the less.

Lovely large room with big comfy bed with a separate bedroom and living area. Bathroom (with separate bath and shower) clean and excellent. Evening meal and wine choice excellent and large choice at breakfast. 2 problems encountered during stay: the first was sorted very quickly-a replacement light bulb for a bedside light. The other, a radiator which could not be turned down or off meant the room was uncomfortably hot. The problem was temporarily fixed after the first night but recurred almost immediately. The windows x3 had to be open all the time which was definitely not energy saving! The surrounding area is stunning for walks along the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head as hotel only 10mins drive away from both.

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay in this hotel. Room 18 which overlooked the road and the Townend building housing the Turner collection for 2023 was acceptable. However the net curtains were totally unnecessary as they cut out the light leaving the room rather gloomy.

Staff were extremely helpful and very polite, we were upgraded for our 25th wedding anniversary which was really good of them. The rooms are a little bit tired and need upgrading but our stay was lovely, had everything we needed and parking was a bonus. I would stay again.

A very pleasant stay at this attractive hotel. A good sized car park with an electric charging station is a useful facility. The hotel is both smart outside and inside, especially in the public areas. The breakfast was excellent with good options. We had the full cooked breakfast each day and the bacon, sausage etc was quality products. Our room, a suite, was large with a very comfortable bed but pillows could be improved. The living room was also very comfortable. The bathroom was impressive and lovely and clean with a great powerful shower inside the bath. The suite could do with a coat of paint especially the ceiling but it was very clean. Sadly the restaurant for evening dinner is currently closed due to lack of staff like a lot of pubs and hotels. However we found some lovely restaurants within a few minutes walk. Upon arrival we received a rather cool reception and during most of our stay. There was one member of staff who was friendly when we were checking out. It is a very good hotel especially for the price and location. We would be happy to return.

This was a lovely hotel for a night. The bed was super comfortable and the wifi was strong and we could watch streaming shows. The car park is such a benefit, and all the staff members we interacted with were so lovely, attentive and polite. However the hotel is dated - a lot of the plugs in our room didn't work, the TV is TINY and not watchable from the bed. Also we had a powercut in the morning due to tripping the fuses for the whole floor. I'd stay here again if i was coming to Eastbourne as it's a charming hotel in a great location, but just be aware it is a bit outdated.

Abrupt check in, the guy made it clear it wasn’t his normal shift, didn’t point out where anything was. I booked a single room, the Tv was small and a long way from the bed which made had viewing when wanting to chill in the evening. Nice breakfast with good selection. Room was clean

Honestly I could not find any fault with my stay. I only saw two members of staff and they were both polite and friendly and happy to help. No chef in the evening just encouraged me out and exploring the area. Parking was a major bonus.

The team here are absolutely amazing. Such a friendly welcome and nothing was a bother. Only suggestion I would make is to change the shower heads as they just droop and spend a little on a bigger head so you can have a nice shower, and for anyone with long hair it would also be very helpful. I will certainly recommend and be back

I added a note on my booking saying that I coukd.not walk any distabce or manage stairs & the Hotel responded immediately saying that this would not be a problem. The very helpful night porter was on dity when I checked in & took my bags to the room (which wasclose to reception & the lift) for me. The room could do with updating, but the bed was really comfy & bathroom spotless with a great walk-in shower. Breakfast was good - full English + selection of cereals, juices etc. My only complaint is that reception was unmanned when I came to check out & after repeatedly ringing the bell + waiting for 10 minutes I just left my keycard on the desk.
I added a note on my booking saying that I coukd.not walk any distabce or manage stairs & the Hotel responded immediately saying that this would not be a problem. The very helpful night porter was on dity when I checked in & took my bags to the room (which wasclose to reception & the lift) for me. A very pleasant stay at this attractive hotel. A good sized car park with an electric charging station is a useful facility. The hotel is both smart outside and inside, especially in the public areas. The breakfast was excellent with good options. We had the full cooked breakfast each day and the bacon, sausage etc was quality products. Our room, a suite, was large with a very comfortable bed but pillows could be improved. The living room was also very comfortable. The bathroom was impressive and lovely and clean with a great powerful shower inside the bath. The suite could do with a coat of paint especially the ceiling but it was very clean. Sadly the restaurant for evening dinner is currently closed due to lack of staff like a lot of pubs and hotels. However we found some lovely restaurants within a few minutes walk. Upon arrival we received a rather cool reception and during most of our stay. There was one member of staff who was friendly when we were checking out. It is a very good hotel especially for the price and location. We would be happy to return.

For sheer value for money my stay was unbeatable. Had a single room which was plenty big enough and spotless. Just a short walk from the seafront. Welcoming, flexible host/owner.

This is a comfortable hotel with good breakfasts, friendly service and spaces to sit and relax. The quiet location is perfect for theatres, art gallery, restaurants and seafront. The car park is a real bonus; I can leave the car and walk everywhere.

Very comfortable and beautifully clean room and en-suite. Staff all very friendly, helpful and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. Was delighted to receive a welcome email with key information a few days before arrival - requested a mattress topper and it was in place when we arrived. Breakfast absolutely gorgeous, treat to have proper toast not just warm bread. Staff serving breakfast particularly caring and helpful - 1st time we’ve ever tipped breakfast waiting team in hotel! Old building so some minor damage but doesn’t detract from overall experience. Certainly recommend and would be our choice if staying in Eastbourne again. 2 minutes walk from Congress Theatre. Perfect for our stay

Great deal on a great hotel. Quiet, comfortable with a fabulous breakfast. All staff friendly and welcoming. Period hotel- I know, but some areas dated and some areas needed cleaners to pay closer attention to details. But by and large clean. We would return.

Hotel is an old converted house, room as expected. Not a bad size, old bed not very comfortable but the shower worked well. Upon arrival I was informed the Restaurant was closed for the evening and the Car park was full so had to park in a corner blocking other guests in, but there was no problem with that. Nothing special but OK for a one night stop over

Weekend stay check in was very good staff very helpful,bit disappointed as staff shortages meant no evening dining was available , but still a very enjoyable weekend the hotel was very warm and welcoming Room was very nice,but could probably do with a make over lining paper peeling from ceiling and bathroom light switch rope very dirty where guests had pulled down on the string

Lovely hotel, in great location, particularly if going to the Congress Theatre, 2 minute walk. Had the Garden Suite, very comfortable. Great breakfast and good quality evening meal. Would definitely go back again.

I was happy for the parking and not only that, but the electric charging available. I came in a non-busy weekend I guess as there were lots of space. My room was enough for me. Wish it was near sea but not. Internet fine in room. I bet some can have problems getting in shower though as it was narrow. Place has bar and lots of lounges you can relax. Breakfast has lots of variety to choose, the server was a little grumpy and not that polite to me. Bar man and receptionist was fine.

Was there for the tennis. Unfortunately the hottest day of the year and the minus of a fan and air con was a shortfall. Staff very friendly. Hotel is an old building so don’t go if you like a modern facility. Location was amazing for the tennis.

Very disappointed with this hotel. The decor is very dated, the carpets on the stairs are thread bare, the furniture old and the wallpaper was peeling off in our suite. The location was great for the tennis and the car park useful
