Plenty of parking at front of hotel. Really helpful staff especially Jepson who sorted a ground floor room for me. Nice spacious clean comfortable room. Breakfast is 7-10 am so plenty of time to get served . Lovely evening meal and quite reasonably priced for a nice hotel. I asked for chips instead of rice but was later advised rice was an integral part of the dish. When the dish came i was given an extra small portion of chips😁 its the little things that make a difference. Quiet at nights no problems getting sleep

Very good hotel, reception very welcoming, room very clean with coffee tea biscuit, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, plenty of towels and toilet accesories, breakfast is amazing as its continental and hot buffet, the staff in the hotel so kind and cannot do enough for you, they are a credit to the level of service for this hotel, and best of all they are dog friendly

The hotel, bar, lounge and restaurant was very good, really relaxing decor. Great breakfast and service. Room was spacious, although quite a walk from reception. Will definitely visit again.

Would have appreciated a lift and our room was quite a trek from reception

Lovely modern hotel. Restaurant had some little booths as well as traditional tables. We were in a booth which I like. Staff were very good, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. I loved the fish in the pool in the restaurant. some rooms have a long walk to them due to the size of the hotel. It has its own carpark.

The stay was ok but the bath tiles definitely need replacing and the shower head was dirty. Awful smell of damp and wet carpet on corridors to the room.

Excellent size rooms and really good front desk service, the only fault we could find was a rather large amount of dust behind all the furniture in the room. But i would go back again as the staff and resturant facility exceeded our expectation.

Clean, tidy, modern and a nice breakfast

Dated, door stuck and needed slamming. Carpet stained, didn't feel really clean. Food was pretty good generally.

A facade of 4 star luxury in the foyer (once you've passed through the cloud of cigarette/vape smoke outside the main entrance) then it's downhill all the way. Rooms are tired & dated with very poor mattresses. The doors do not close properly when you enter - you have to slam them fully shut. We walked past so many rooms in the corridor which weren't locked properly and could have been entered easily. There is no security guard or keycard entry to the bedroom area so ANYONE could walk in off the street. Bathrooms are dirty, mouldy sink, ancient grouting, soap scum and dirt on the soap dish, weak shower. Food scraps from other guests room service was left in the corridor for more than 24 hours before being removed. Litter lying outside on the grass outside, again left for days. Very fake and unfriendly staff on the front desk and working in the restaurant. All looking like they wanted to be anywhere other than there. Restaurant food was pretty good but very little option for non-meat eaters. Even the fish dishes had chorizo with them. Really not recommended but sadly there's not a lot of option in the area.

The reception area of the hotel is beautiful but the bedrooms let the hotel down. They are not as nice as the main area and the bed I was sleeping in was extremely uncomfortable and I hardly slept. At breakfast time the area is so busy and as everything is self service it took agres to get a cup of tea never mind a breakfast. This needs more organisation

Lighting in room was poor. Desk is provided but does not have a light. Main light switch operates all ceiling lights when you should have separate switches. One side of the bed does not have a bedside light or even a bedside table! Bath was very narrow. Otherwise room was spacious, clean with a pleasant outlook.

The room was big and comfortable, everything worked perfectly well, but definitely dated. (I don't know the actual construction dates, but the vibe was a hotel built in the 50s or 60s and not notably renovated since.) My only complaints about the room are minor: it felt like the kind of place that should have a fridge (but didn't) and it didn't have any kind of AC. It didn't need the latter on my trip, but I would be concerned about the temperature in winter. The lack of a fridge was more notable because the restaurant wasn't great and it's a bit of a walk into the town centre for other food options. The hotel breakfast was great, but the dinner I had there did not inspire me to eat there again.

Stay was just okay. Hotel entrance and restaurant seems pretty pleasant but the hotel rooms really seems like it needs a better refurbishment. Staff was generally good except the lady in breakfast area. She was really rude to me and my partner. We were in this hotel for the first time and didn’t saw their notice to que in the entrance. Unfortunately, this lady made a big fuss about it and shouted at me and my partner. Got really embarrassed in front of all the guest sitting there. She could have handled it in a better way and if not then she shouldn’t be in this job.

Had terrible trouble checking in due to the fact that my credit cards are stored under Apple wallet therefore I do not carry the actual cards. Unfortunately the person checking me in failed to understand this and it was abit like 'the computer say no'. Very unfriendly person who didnt do anything to help the situation. Not terribly impressed with the hotel as a whole and definitely would not stay here again

Initial issues with a banging noise in room but engineer was quick to sort out a radiator issue. Lovely staff, clean room room.Maybe due a refurbished

This was a place to stay, relatively clean. We were disappointed with the restaurant/bar, especially the first night where they told us all they had was pizza (and we found out later there was a full menu but it depends on where you sit in the restaurant/bar area. Breakfast was included and lots of selection. When I asked about adding my husband to breakfast (who came to meet us), the front desk told me it would be 5 pounds to add him for one breakfast, and then that morning they charged 9.99 pounds for him to eat breakfast. Also disappointed with the lack of communication from the hotel leading up to our stay, as I emailed (I’m not in the same country so a phone call isn’t possible without significant fees). I emailed to request special accommodations and they never responded. When we arrived they had no record of my request. However an email was sent from the link on their website, and a second through Expedia (the booking website that was used). I have confirmation that both emails were read. They took no ownership for this lack of communication, and blamed me for requesting something that they cant guarantee. (Which was not the issue, as clearly, a request is only a request, but acknowledgment of said request would be appropriate). This property does have public transportation nearby, however best to have a vehicle to make the best of the area.

After changing rooms from 102 (security lock not working) to room 131 ( toilet wouldn't flush, toilet seats up, bed crushed as if someone had slept in it) and then to room 156. ( disabled room) no rubber mat for shower. Had to contact reception as sign said floor is slippery!!! Just what a disabled person would need. No tissues in the room or bathroom, container empty). Made complaint as no reply from management. Deputy food manager came to speak to us, didn't introduce herself nor address us my name. No word if apology just "didn't know how that happened" TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE ....DON'T GO THERE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT AN HOTEL AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.

A great stay for a great price in a great location for an early ferry

Hotel very convenient to down town. Have stayed there before and would recommend it to other visitors. I am originally from Irvine and now live in the states so enjoy visiting my home town and family and friends. Enjoy the meals and lounge area. Convenient parking area. Will stay there again when I visit Irvine,

Stayed at riverside 3 times now. Lovely rooms, good location just off main road but need a car. Only complaint was there was a noisy coach party leaving at 7am but not hotels fault they were noisy. Will stay again next time in Ayrshire!

Have stayed here before and will stay again! Convenient to A77. Public areas all modernised and bedrooms are partly refurbished and I look forward to this being completed. Breakfast is good although difficult to get food from hot counter due to its design. A good clean budget hotel.

Lovely hotel inside but doesnt feel "riverside" as in the middle of a housing estate.

Large property with a spacious light room. Large breakfast buffet included in room rate which was very good value. Perfect location on your way to or from the Isle of Arran and the Ardrossan ferry. Only 35 minute drive to Glasgow airport.

Parking safe but limited. Breakfast ok but items kept runing out and we had to wait. Hotel quiet tired but bar and restaurant ok and comfortable. Plenty of staff available. Had a hot tap in our bathroom that wouldnt stop running

Excellent stay, everything was great from check in to check out.. Gad dinner in the restaurant, the food was delicious and not overpriced

Breakfast was lukewarm as was the hot water for tea.

Excellent room, very warm & friendly welcome @ reception. Very disappointed to learn that they stop serving food @ 8.15pm. Not good after a 6 hours drive arriving at 9 pm starving hungry . Night porter does room service but doesn't come on duty till 11 pm.

We all had an amazing stay. Food was delicious and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Only thing that could be improved on is to have full length mirror in rooms as we were attending a wedding and couldnt see ourselves before leaving. Also need charging points by the bed. Otherwise i would definitely recommend to others. The staff were also very nice, friendly and helpful. Thank you!!

Overall I had a good stay but dinner service one evening was unsatisfactory. My friend and I ordered different dishes. The waitress brought two dishes the same. On reminding her of my order she took the dish back to the kitchen, then came back and said it would take about 11 minutes for my order to be delivered. 30 minutes later it still had not been delivered. I rose to go to complain but another waitress saw me and said she would find out what had happened to my order. She returned to say there had been a communication problem in the kitchen and my order was now being processed. I received my dinner 45 minutes after my friend’s dish had been delivered to the table. This was most disappointing. I also drew attention to a faulty tap in the wash basin in my bathroom. It offered only a dribble of water or a huge torrent that splashed over my clothing and the floor. I was told maintenance would deal with it. After three nights there it had not been fixed. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work either. These disappointments spoiled an otherwise very good experience.
