The parking was a let down, it is only a suggestion that they allocate car sizes to parking spaces so everyone gets to park. We stayed in the annex, which was nice, but would not want to stay in there in winter as it would be too cold. Overall it was a nice experience, friendly helpful staff , nice breakfast and clean good sized room

Great B&B for your stay in the Lake District. The room was very spacious, and the staff very friendly. Parking was a little tight but if you get there early enough you should be ok with one of the wider spaces.

We booked in for two nights New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Superb hosts, very welcoming and went that extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Hotel was very clean, comfortable, great location. Breakfast was good. Will definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ambleside Townhouse. It was our first time but we noted that many staying were returning customers. It's easy to see why; the staff were all lovely and professional at all times; the Townhouse located conveniently close to the centre of Ambleside and is decorated attractively in a contemporary style; our room was clean, warm, appointed nicely and our bed comfortable; breakfast was to a high standard with a broad choice available. One thing I must highlight is that when we had car trouble on the morning of departure, Helen was fantastic help, going out of her way to ensure we could get underway without too much difficulty. Thank you Helen, this was very, very much appreciated.

Stayed for one night for husbands birthday chose the townhouse from previous reviews. The service was excellent as was and breakfast. My only issue would be the bathroom needed a few cosmetic improvements like the grouting was black in some areas and there was a water stain mark in the carpet. Apart from that the bedding was immaculate and the bed comfy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ambleside Townhouse. While we were just there one night, we wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms aren't large by any stretch, but we had enough space for two people and several bags in our double room. Our room had quite a bit of storage that we would have made more use of if we were staying longer - An armoire, a desk, and a couple side tables. As it was, the armoire was great for stuffing our bags into. Breakfast was tasty - they served us both a hot, made-to-order breakfast and had a continental buffet available. The staff were friendly and check-in and check-out were super quick and easy.

This was a slightly more expensive guesthouse than we normally book which is definitely reflected in the room, which was beautiful. Cleanliness was top notch, noted especially by how fresh it smelled which was lovely. The bed was comfortable but I must say the pillows were too hard for us. Breakfast was a little bit of a let down as it was quite small but there was a lot of choice in the buffet extras. We did have the room next to the front door as well which was quite loud at times. Also if I was being really picky it would have been nice to have curtains as well as shutters because we like a dark room on a night and with being next to the car park it was never properly dark. But overall it was a nice enough stay.

Ambleside Townhouse is so conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and hiking trails. The folks are accommodating and friendly; they really went the distance in making our stay comfortable and convenient. My only suggestion would be mini-split a/c units in the rooms - despite the comfortable temperatures, the humidity was uncomfortable at times.

The hotel is small and quaint. The food service staff and housekeeping are excellent. Location is good. Guest relations, reservations and management are horrible. We booked a room with a King-Size bed many months before our arrival. 3 days prior to our arrival, the reservation manager gave it to another guest who forgot to book a king-size bed. He couldn't understand that was not the right thing to do, but at least he spoke with us. We brought this up to the hotel manager when leaving but she was not interested to speak about this to us. She insisted we were wrong. She said the bed was indeed a king-size. Wow - a guess the folks don't speak to each other. Many nice hotels in Ambleside - book somewhere else.

The location and proximity to get into town walking and driving distances to other parts of the lakes. We were rightly situated for our walking break. I felt it was expensive compared to other B&B nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ambleside Townhouse. While we were just there one night, we wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms aren't large by any stretch, but we had enough space for two people and several bags in our double room. Our room had quite a bit of storage that we would have made more use of if we were staying longer - An armoire, a desk, and a couple side tables. As it was, the armoire was great for stuffing our bags into. Breakfast was tasty - they served us both a hot, made-to-order breakfast and had a continental buffet available. The staff were friendly and check-in and check-out were super quick and easy.

This was a slightly more expensive guesthouse than we normally book which is definitely reflected in the room, which was beautiful. Cleanliness was top notch, noted especially by how fresh it smelled which was lovely. The bed was comfortable but I must say the pillows were too hard for us. Breakfast was a little bit of a let down as it was quite small but there was a lot of choice in the buffet extras. We did have the room next to the front door as well which was quite loud at times. Also if I was being really picky it would have been nice to have curtains as well as shutters because we like a dark room on a night and with being next to the car park it was never properly dark. But overall it was a nice enough stay.

We'd like to keep the Townhouse a secret so we can book again! It is a lovely B&B and very reasonable value, centrally located within Ambleside. There is also a delicious breakfast with a good range of choices.

Breakfast menu was really good, the staff were professional and welcoming.Our room was spotless and if we return ee will request the same one. Parking can be a little tricky with a large car but we were fine. As for location, it's ideal for the town centre (300yards or so).
