Parking on site was tricky due to narrow bays and large cars very close to white lines. Room and terrace were very comfortable and well appointed

Really nice room and extremely comfortable bed. Well located. Very different with no front desk service but everything well communicated. No issue getting parked either.

Free parking, lovely place, however the room advertised that I booked was not the room we were given, but still a very nice room non the less. 10 minute walk away not the centre for food and drinks, great seating facilities inside and outside of the property with a great view. Overall still very happy with my booking.

We’ve been to the hotel previously. Obviously changed hands. Room is fantastic, but there is no longer a bar or breakfast service and no staff as there was previously. Communication was done through WhatsApp which is great but definitely more an Airbnb style now as opposed to a hotel.

Great location. Easy access to town centre. Parking is easy and secure. Room needs refurbishment. Shower cubicle is small and even not got a caddy to place the shower gel and shampoo. The drainage was clogged.

The room was comfortable overall — the bed was great, and the shower room was a good size, I liked the decor and the decorations. The main areas of the hotel were clean and tidy and parking was very convenient, though spaces were a little tight and filled up quickly. Very convenient location to explore the Lake District from. Check in process was efficient. That said, I did notice some issues with the room’s condition. There seemed to be a damp problem (present or past I’m not sure!), with thick condensation on the windows, remnants of wet patches on the walls and a musty, damp smell on arrival. The shower room also had some mould on the ceiling and the grouting around the shower was black with mould, which could do with a more thorough clean as I have to say, I thought this was fairly foul! It’s a very common thing to happen in a shower but it’s also extremely easy to clean (before it gets to this stage) and keep on top of. The radiator and towel rail weren’t working which was nothing more than a slight inconvenience (not cold enough to need it yet really!) but it did mean my towels stayed damp throughout my stay - I think the towel rail may just need bleeding as the bottom was hot. Despite what I’ve said above, I would stay here again purely as it’s an extremely convenient location to explore the Lake District and Ambleside and in general the room was fine and comfortable. But the mould and damp stop me from wanting to give this place a more positive review and rating.

The hotel itself feels a little tired, but the rooms have been fully refurbished and the beds are very comfortable. Our window only opened slightly, though a good floor fan was provided. Parking on-site is a big plus, and it’s an easy walk into town. Ambleside is absolutely gorgeous and well worth a visit.

We had a lovely short break at Ambleside Suites and Rooms The Fisherbeck. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a lovely big bathroom and all we needed during our stay. The only negative was no reception which we were aware of before we arrived. We had no issues so didn't need to speak to anyone during our stay but still missed the personal touch of a welcome etc.

Holes in the walls, stains all over the carpets and wires dangling down. Left within an hour of being there. Requested a refund as the owners said I could, then it was denied as expedia classed it as “poor service” and they didn’t like that. Absolute joke.

Very poor standard of accommodation with stale odours in room.

For the price we paid the property was ok little run down and could do with some tlc

Bed comfortable but small, furniture too big for such a small space. Overall great location and very clean.

Nice modern rooms, smaller than expected. Not a fan of the fake moss and plastic foliage in the sun room I feel as though it makes the room look cheap. The bath has a crack and I didn’t feel safe using it. Didn’t feel too safe as the front door to the property was unlocked all night.

This hotel definitely needs a revamp. Stained carpets, no lock on the bathroom door. Definitely no soundproofing between the rooms as we were kept up all night by people flushing their toilets at all hours and no staff around to rectify any problems you may have apart from an email address. I would advise not to stay in the hotel itself but to choose the outside garden rooms we had stayed in previously as they were bigger and had a more recent makeover.

Size of room, quality of bedding and towels

This is a scam! I booked a room after looking at the pictures, which clearly showed a bathtub. But when I arrived, the room I got was completely different and didn’t have a bathtub. When I complained and sent pictures to their service team showing what I had booked, they said, “We don’t have any record of that in our system. If you want, you can cancel for free.” I came all the way from London with my family how could I just cancel and start searching for another place at that time? This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

We absolutely loved our stay in room 26. The view from the balcony is amazing and the room itself was lovely, amazing fan and the most comfortable bed. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely stay 😊

We were kept well informed on the details around our trip and the booking in and parking wrre very straightforward. Location is great, 3 min walk into town. Bed is very uncomfortable for our liking, far too soft, no support. Advertised as having NETFLIX etc, but yiu cant access this. Would us again, but only for a 1 night stop over.

No staff on site that we saw but didn’t really need anyone, free to come and go as we pleased and the property felt secure and safe we even left the patio doors open to allow fresh air in, perfect location. Quiet spot in walking distance of Ambleside pubs would definitely return.

Nice modern accommodation and good size rooms that have recently been renovated. It is like self service and not a hotel which is fine if that is what you are after. No water in room for example and no one on reception while I was on site or breakfast. This was not a problem for me but maybe for others. When I called the mobile number for service they were very good and even brought me a bottle of water.

It’s on the road to the lake, just outside Ambleside Our room was clean and well appointed. There are no reception staff - but very clear instructions regarding access to the property are sent to you before arrival and further information is provided in the room. We were here for one night and it was ideal for our short stay.

This was a good two night stay in Ambleside. Located just outside the town centre it is an easy walk for meals and indeed not a bad base for a walk. The room was very good - bed was very comfortable. Not too sure about the Mountain View from our room but not an issue. The rest of the building is somewhat eclectic but this didn’t detract from a good stay.

Stayed in a room on the second (top) floor. Really comfortable bed, nice big bathroom and a good shower. Was quite hot due to the weather so needed the very efficient fan on. Very convenient for Lake Windermere and Ambleside. Would stay again. No negatives on the hotel, other than the outside fish pond looks like it needs a good clean out and a filter for the benefit of the fish.

We stayed Monday to Friday. Situated a 10 minute walk from Ambleside so dramatically reduced the need to use the car. On site parking which was convenient. Self check-in was simple and smooth. Our room was so spacious, very clean, comfortable and very stylish, loved our separate lounge area! The onsite breakfast in the Casa restaurant was "ok" although fair to say there was lots of selection. Overall a pleasant, comfortable stay.

Beds are so comfy , had the best nights sleep . Close to walk into the town. The owners of the little bar and restaurant were incredibly helpful and friendly , and the food was excellent . We will be returning

Two night stay in room 5. Hotel very clean throughout. Friendly staff. Superb breakfasts, wide choice, large portions & excellent quality. Great for walkers, lots of maps and walking guides. Comfortable bed, powerful shower. Only downside was our room was very small.
