It was unfortunate there was construction going on, so they did not have a real restaurant We didn’t hear any noise from the construction The pool area was immaculate. Everybody was nice and helpful. The gym could i’ve had newer equipment, but it was fine The beach was great and we had some great sunrise images and pictures

Beautiful hotel. Parking is across the street and the light takes forever to change plus it's a busy area. Pool is small compared to the number of guests. Either get there early or you won't get a chair. The beach is private and very accessible though. You will have to pay for an umbrella or tiki cover. Its worth it. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and will come back.

Construction going on no open restaurant at hotel which is not mentioned when you booking so many Spanish people even stuff barely speaks any English half of the pool area is marked as VIP area there is no available chairs always taken unless you get up early in the morning and grab one,whole place smells like a dump housekeeping personal smells like a weed also speaking Spanish no English l don’t recommend this place for family with kids reason for giving them 3 stars is bacuse of front desk which seems to be very nice and friendly otherwise l would rated it 0 horrible experience.

I like that the hotel is on the beach. It is going through some well needed renovation so its really not fair to comment. but the carpets and sofas are kinda grungy looking. But the hotel is in a great location and the staff is very pleasant. you have to pay per day to park in a lot across the road. $30 self park/ $38 valet. also you have to pay per day for beach chairs $33/for 2 chairs/no umbrella. thats a little steep. the reno of the pool area is very beautifully done. as well as the lobby was upgraded. there is also a convenient but expensive cafe shop in the lobby which is good if you are coming in hungry. the food by the pool has good bar food.

Stay somewhere else! Anywhere else! 1- pool closed at 8 pm (they literally kick you out) 2- only one bar outside that closes at 8 pm. 3- after 8 pm if you go on the beach, they make you go all the way around to come back in. 4- you will pay resort tax, sales tax AND gratuity 5- only ONE employee had excellent customer service skills- no one else. 6- rooms are very outdated. (Remodel in process) 7- we used valet for rental car and they lost the keys and stated, “didn’t you check out yesterday” and gave us another customers key. 8- limited food options within hotel. 9- you are paying a ridiculous amount of resort fees, but have to pay an additional amount of money ($100) to sit under a palapa- which they kick you out of by 5 pm. Don’t stay there.

To start with i paid for a beach front and i got a stick out my head of the window to see it. Icemaker had to go to another floor because it wasn't working, parking is not included had to pay 35 plus taxes per day. Pool is close until 8 pm. Still daylight in summer time.

PLACE IS ADVERTISE WITH FREE PARKING ON EXPEDIA, IT IS A LIE! EXPEDIA DOES THIS A LOT NOW A DAYS. THEY HAVE ROCHETS ,( COCKROACHS). ANOTHER ROOM FROM ANOTHER GUEST HAD LOTS OF LEAKING WATER ON THE AC UNIT. CARPET ON EACH FLOOR LOOKS OLD . THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THE POOL AND BEACH RIGHT NEXT TO IT. STAFF IS FRIENDLY . WILL NEVER COMEBACK TO THIS HOTEL. HAVING COCKROACHS IS A BAD ENOUGH PROBLEM AND END UP TAKING THEM HOME AND RUINING OUR HOME. HOTEL NEEDS LOTS OF WORK. A PLACE LIKE THIS SHIULD BE WORTH HALF OF THE PRICE THEY OFFER OR EVEN LESS FOR SURE.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here. While the pooo tea was recently renovated and had a nice bar and the pool itself was clean, all good stopped there. Our bathroom has BLACK MOLD growing. When we informed the hotel you could tell they were not surprised and must hear this a lot because they had a whole script prepared. They would not switch our room or offer us any consolation for this despite us explaining we had two small children and this was a clear health hazard. The rooms were filthy with stained carpets and bugs. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. While this place is very affordable, it’s clear why-truthfully until the room renovations are complete they should not be having guests stay here. The place isn’t just dated, it’s filthy.

We were told updated property , That was a Complete lie , Rooms are old , Roaches and Ice machines all rusted or Not working Except 8th floor , The smell or the birds and their crap was immediately as soon as you walk into hotel , We had roaches crawling on us at 2am , We complained and had to shake off all our cloths and pack everything up at 2am w3ith 2 kids at 2AM!!!! And be relocate our selves into 1 of the New rooms on 8th floor , Why werent we given this room from the start? No bellhop helped and we got no Money back , only a crap Compted ticker for 2 free drinks? They let too many outsiders in with day passes and they took up all the pool chairs.

I was aware that property was under construction but that fact doesn't play any role in my comments below. Overall conditions of the hotel are very, very bad. This hotel needs remodeling like 30 years ago. Carpets in the hallways are stained beyond believe. Walls need paint job. Room was in better condition but still looked like a 2 star motel. And not like a 4 star hotel. No cofee, sugar and milk in the room. Had to call customer services everyday in order to get it. Bed was comfy. View from the balcony was good. Pool is very good. Staff around the pool is very good, helpful and polite. Bar next to the pool offers good choice of the drinks and food. Good access to the ocean. I personally wouldn't stay in this hotel again. Hopefully renovation will fix all this issues.

I enjoyed the location of the property but overall the hotel was not what I would have expected for $300 a night plus resort fees. If you do book, I don’t suggest booking through Expedia as I booked an ocean front view room and ended up with a view of a dirty roof and a sliver of the ocean far to the left.

The hotel is undergoing construction and our room was located in a bad place drilling on top of our room started from 8am Only 1 elevator was working had to wait more than half hour to go down We asked for blanket for the sofa bed and they said we don’t have blankets right now The bathtub was so disgusting I wouldn’t even step inside to take a shower The room smelled like mold Front desk was rude and not friendly at all didn’t help us at all The rooms are really really outdated and just gross and not worth the price we payed

I’ve stayed here a few times. They do seem to try and the staff cares about the experience. It is in a constant state of construction. Rooms seem to be the last phase of renovation. Pool area and lobby look good. Rooms need a facelift. My room didn’t have hot water and was moved to a room that hadn’t been used in a while. It worked out. If you want a really nice place, look elsewhere. The price is fair for what you get. I like the location.

The hotel’s first-floor lobby and pool area look decent, likely recently renovated. However, several common areas in the lobby were closed, which was unexpected. What truly disappointed me, given the price and the description on their website, was the condition of the rooms. They were outdated, and as soon as I stepped out of the elevator, there was a strong unpleasant odor, which continued into the room. The worst part, though, was the beds. Every time someone turned over, the noise was unbearably loud— a constant creaking and crunching sound that made it impossible to sleep. After a sleepless first night, I went to the lobby to report the issue, but the staff simply said there was nothing they could do because the hotel was fully booked. For the price we paid, not being able to get a decent night’s sleep was unacceptable. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We were places in a room overlooking the pool area (balcony) 3rd floor…right beside the hallway bathrooms and convention space… very loud and crowded by that room… and the music was so loud at midnight—I had to call at 12:16 and was assured it would be off soon-I had to call again 15 min later. This was a nightly issue. The water was turned off for emergency maintenance from 10am-4pm with a warning letter—we had dinner reservations at 7:00 that night. Water was still not on at 6:45 when we had to leave—needless to say no shower after being at the beach all day. Hotel was not full—they should never put someone in room 318 unless an absolute last resort— shower and sink needs some work

The stay was good for just one night. The only issue we had was we had to have our room keys redone 3 times because they wouldn’t work. The room was also hot, even though it’s ocean front, the poor air conditioner couldn’t keep up.

The first room they checked us into was filled with smoke and had huge burn holes on the carpet had to move all our stuff to a second room staff were irritated when they had to reassign the room, the rooms were old and nothing like the pictures, after the mix up we tried to enjoy our trip a day before we added late check out so our check out wasnt tell 2 pm normal check out is at 11 at 9 am while me and my spouse were sleeping a cleaning person knocked on the door and then entered the room seeing me and my spouse naked they hurried up and closed the door my spouse then ran to the hall to speak to the lady after putting clothes on she tried to run away from him like it wasnt her we contacted the front desk got a whole run around and barely an apology until my spouse had mentioned yesterday he had left his debit card in the room and his bank notified him of a scam chatge during that time only then did they offer to refund 1 day stay after we had been completely violated the staff seem to be on drugs as they are very finicky and shady the manager was very rude would never stay here again if my life depended on it

The hotel was under renovations, there were limited food options. Nothing vegan really and cannot access the pool area past 10 PM. I had to wait 45 minutes for check-in checked in at 4:45.

Property was under construction. Valet and check in should have aigns to direct guests. No matter where I stood waiting for my car or checking in, i felt like i was in the way. The rooms do need refurbished so im glad they are doing construction. Staff was unbelievable. Best coffee at Lovebirds and they were so friendly there. Front desk brought us a much needed blanket at 2am.

Everything we asked from the Servise desk , wasn’t delivered , as basic things like cups , pillows , plates change of room to a basic room as two queen beds as we been 4 people on the room , space by the pool never had available seats , only need to pay 125 for a day bed ,as well space on the beach only comes with 2 chairs no umbrella included . Very disappointed in that stay .

By far the worst hotel experience. Room was super dirty, they put us next to pool with loud music non stop, midway through the stay we had steak smell comig out the vent, lastly a hotel staff just walked into our room with a maste rkey without knocking. Avoid this place.

Pros- Great beach/pool area Right next to pier Close to many great restaurants Jet ski rental right next to hotel (but expensive 100$ for 30 mins) Got a free drawing of me done at the hotel (memorial day weekend so that person might not be there on a regular weekend) Cons- My room was extremely outdated with a faint smell of smoke I turned on the water to the bath tub and for a few seconds the water was yellow then went to white The carpet was dirty in the room and the halls to the elevator as well Summary, I had a great time but the room was disappointing and there was no pictures of that room online. I only stayed for one night so I looked passed those things but I suggest talking to the front desk before hand and make sure that you are not getting one of those rooms because I know that they are updating a lot of them.

I’m giving 5 stars even though hotel has dated rooms. Old carpet and not best bathroom. There is renovation going on at the hotel even though we didn’t find any inconvenience ( not noise or working crew) . Hotel has pretty lobby with small coffee place. It is right on a beach next to a pier where you can fishing, walk, relax enjoying views or have a drink or dinner at the pier restaurant. I hope they will renovate rooms which will make hotel outstanding. Will come back definitely

Nice hotel in a great location. The hotel is in the middle of a major renovation so it was noisy during the day in the main areas. Rooms are I need of updating. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel is under renovation so lots of construction and extremely noisy... restaurant is closed.. they have 1 ice machine that works for the 1st four floors which was annoying. Other than that it was a great stay. Great location and friendly staff.

2nd time here, brought kids this time even after finding a cockroach in our room last time. The Hotel; under construction, they warn you, wasn’t bad. Reserved "ocean view" room. Very disappointed. Feels like because we went thru Travelocity & not them directly, we were put at the furthest end room from the ocean, had a sliver of a view, feels like we got shafted. Our view was a trashy rooftop. We met people staying at the hotel who said they LOVED their new room & the update. We obviously got an old room. So, it was disappointing to hear. Room’s much smaller than last time, & had 4 of us this time, very crammed. Never enough towels, door under sink fell off the 1st time we used it (told staff, no one fixed it). Floors were very dirty, our comforter had stains, which they just kept remaking. Hair dryer’s stored in bathroom sitting on towels so beware to not have it fall on you & bruise your toe like mine. Faucet on the bathroom sink was falling apart. Many things in the room looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Took pics but there’s nowhere to post them. We were very excited to eat at the busy Beach restaurant again with an amazing menu. Things have changed. Restaurant was bought by the hotel; menu has like 15 items to choose from & very small portions for the cost (Hotdog = $16). It's no longer busy. They changed the pier, made it 'commercialized', can rent fishing stuff. Pool was great! Staff was amazing! Won’t be back for a 3rd, unfortunately.

We were hesitant to book, given the bad recent reviews we read. We were pleasantly surprised and glad that we choose Newport! It was a great stay, the location is unbeatable. The room could certainly have been cleaner, but we didn’t spend much time there anyway. Only downfall is the heated pool closes @7PM, which is unfortunate for adults looking for some “non kid” swimming time. Also, There are not any restaurants “on site” as described but one next door at the pier. Overall, we would definitely book again!

From the moment we walked into the hotel we were greeted with hospitality. The hotel was beautiful. A lot of renovations underway, but it was very inconspicuous. Food was on the expensive side. I spent more on food than ai did the hotel. But everything was wonderful.

A few things. First, the hotel is beautiful, it is recently renovated and the rooms and public spaces are stunning. The restaurant is also very nice and the food is great. The location is very nice and the beach and pool are just as pictured. A couple of things that made this more of 2-3 star property are the front desk staff and the incorrect description of the rooms. At The Sunny, Oceanview is really a partial ocean view, they should be much more clear with this. our room looked over the roof of the ballroom and if you turned to the left you saw the ocean. If you want a full ocean view then book an ocean front. Second, we had a party of three women, I booked a 2 bedroom ocean view suite. I expected 2 full bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with a pullout couch. We got a one bedroom suite with a bed in the living room and no pull out couch. The description is deceptive and no where did it say that it was a one bedroom suite. There were two bathrooms. But let's get to the the real issue. The front desk staff was not very helpful or knowledgeable. They messed up our payment and when I called to ask for a hair dryer, i called twice and never got it in the two hours that we needed it. Poor customer service for a Hilton property, its is what made this otherwise 4-5 star property more like a 2-3 star property.
