We will be back. Our first stay at this hotel. The location was excellent near midtown Morro Bay. Our room had a great view of Morro Rock. Dorns restaurant was next door for breakfast and we had covered parking. This was nice to keep fog condensation off your car in the morning and oh yes bird droppings.

Great staff, simple brown bag breakfast, view of Morro Rock, room clean and with adequate seating and writing surfaces. No laundry facilities, but laundry a few blocks away. Great access to waterfront stores and wonderful food! Only 1 of the 2 buildings has an elevator.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Sail Inn. We had a deluxe king room with balcony and ocean view on the 3rd floor of the east building. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, couch, small table and chairs, TV, small refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker. I liked the space in the bathroom for setting down your bathroom essentials. There were plenty of outlets for electronics. On the down side the internet connection was spotty and connectivity was poor. The key cards did not work on the first try when checking in and required a walk back to the office. Don't bother with the pick up and go so called breakfast. It's not worth the walk to the office for stale packaged cinnamon rolls and muffins that tasted as if they came out of a vending machine. The hotel is in walking distance of most of the shops and numerous restaurants which was a plus. Free covered parking and no resort fees were a huge plus. Overall we had a good stay and would stay again if ever in Morro Bay.

It's a great location with good parking, some covered. A super short walk to the main tourist drag. 5-6 local coffee shops a within a 5-8 minute walk.We stayed on the third floor so had great ocean view and nice breeze and balcony.The rooms are huge. Lots of space to spread out. It's not super updated but it's not beat down. Had to request room service which was fine for us, didn't need it every day. We decided we love Morro Bay and the workers/residents are chill. It was close to wineries, Hearst Castle and Cambria, which is a great little town to visit. Hotel is nice and friendly staff. Great location for families. The room could have used a better cleaning job. But, again all was good. We even got breakfast daily for r room. Remember this place is not new and things do need updated in the room. But all and all it was great. In pictures is our hotel view and the breakfast we picked for that day. And the outlet that did need fixing. We would stay here again. My 1 complete i do have is that the room did need cleaning a lot better. There was a black widow web in window corner. And whwn we moved a chair in the room food from last guest was under it. Its why i could not give all stars like I would have loved to give

Dated facility though clean. Though you could smell the mustiness of an old room. Would be compelled to look at another place to stay if we visit again. Noisy floors due to outdated wood construction of the building. Could hear every step of people above and on stairs. Noisy to say the least. Check in was marginally professional. When we asked about a different room, the immediate answer in a forceful and unfriendly tone was that we booked through a 3rd party. We can't do anything to help you. If you had booked through us... Simply rude. Good location, but overall disappointed with the food options in this touristy part of time, except the sushi place was pretty good.

A great location with an unobstructed view of Morro Rock that you could enjoy from inside or on the nice deck. The rooms were clean, and spacious with a microwave and a refrigerator. We felt the beds were comfortable and appreciated the black-out curtains. We appreciate the free parking in a world where people charge for everything. Breakfast snacks were a nice surprise. The property, overall, could use some paint, but the coast is hard on exteriors, the rooms were great. We took two rooms and everyone was happy. We would stay here again.

I booked this room for the view and it did not disappoint. It was lovely waking up to the sounds of the bay - the gulls, the sea lions, the boats - and the view of the rock was gorgeous. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and the fireplace was a nice touch. We rode to this hotel on our motorcycles and our bikes were safe and secure all weekend. The front desk was polite and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again!

Fantastic location, easy check-in process, super friendly staff with heaps of local knowledge. The room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable and the shower was awesome with great water pressure.We also received a little breakfast pack for on the go. This is the place to stay!

I booked a room for my daughter and her boyfriend for her 21st birthday. I called the hotel to ask for birthday cakes in the area that could deliver. It turned out that they had none. But instead without my prompting they put balloons in the room and made their stay really special. Kudos for real hospitality!

We came down to Morro Bay to celebrate my husbands birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly face, who told us about local hotspots and yummy food. Lisa was the woman that checked us in and she made the hotel feel so cozy and welcoming. We checked out the spots she recommended and had a great time! We filled out the little paper for breakfast and it was very easy, but after the first morning we decided we wanted to check out local restaurants. The breakfast they offered was a variety of prepackaged pastries and granola bars and a drink like orange juice or apple juice. It was fine for throwing in the backpack and enjoying a snack later but if you’re looking for a hearty breakfast I suggest a local restaurant. Our view was spectacular, it was close and accessible to everything downtown, and walking distance to the bars. It was perfect. It really made our stay extra enjoyable. We absolutely will be coming back!!

when first arrived early was told sternly come back at 3pm. Then staff turned back to what she was working on. At 3pm different, friendlier staff. 1st staff left inviting impression.
when first arrived early was told sternly come back at 3pm. Then staff turned back to what she was working on. At 3pm different, friendlier staff. 1st staff left inviting impression.

The Blue Sail Inn is located very close to shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere from this hotel, no need to drive since it's a half a block away from the Embarcadero. This area is safe and quiet except when the seals in the bay decide to get loud. The property was remodeled about 2 years ago and still looks fresh and new. We strolled along the Embarcadero during sunset and saw 5 sea otters in the water right outside the restaurants. They were crunching on crabs like an all you can eat buffet. The mommy and baby otters were especially cute, a real mother's day treat! Don't mss the Elephant Seal Rookery, especially in early spring. It's about a 35 minute drive north, just past San Simeon on HWY 1. They have the nicest staff here. This is our second visit at this hotel and we will stay here again the next time we're in town.

It's a great location with good parking, some covered. A super short walk to the main tourist drag. 5-6 local coffee shops a within a 5-8 minute walk.We stayed on the third floor so had great ocean view and nice breeze and balcony.The rooms are huge. Lots of space to spread out. It's not super updated but it's not beat down. Had to request room service which was fine for us, didn't need it every day. We decided we love Morro Bay and the workers/residents are chill. It was close to wineries, Hearst Castle and Cambria, which is a great little town to visit. We had sunny days and foggy days but it was still fun. And the seals in the bay bark non stop, but we got used to that. Nice people at the Blue Sail and we recommend it.

They used to have breakfast room with a machine that made pancakes. The breakfast is now a small selection of items that are provided in a brown bag out of the hotel lobby. 😢

We will be back. Our first stay at this hotel. The location was excellent near midtown Morro Bay. Our room had a great view of Morro Rock. Dorns restaurant was next door for breakfast and we had covered parking. This was nice to keep fog condensation off your car in the morning and oh yes bird droppings.

Great staff, simple brown bag breakfast, view of Morro Rock, room clean and with adequate seating and writing surfaces. No laundry facilities, but laundry a few blocks away. Great access to waterfront stores and wonderful food! Only 1 of the 2 buildings has an elevator.

Was a trip with my friend to see a concert at the Siren. The location is excellent - close to everything - which I loved. The place is getting kind of run-down, with faucet hard to turn, sliding glass door really hard to open, and the mattress was too hard. Also, they used to have a great breakfast and now it's just a brown bag with a few goodies.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Sail Inn. We had a deluxe king room with balcony and ocean view on the 3rd floor of the east building. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, couch, small table and chairs, TV, small refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker. I liked the space in the bathroom for setting down your bathroom essentials. There were plenty of outlets for electronics. On the down side the internet connection was spotty and connectivity was poor. The key cards did not work on the first try when checking in and required a walk back to the office. Don't bother with the pick up and go so called breakfast. It's not worth the walk to the office for stale packaged cinnamon rolls and muffins that tasted as if they came out of a vending machine. The hotel is in walking distance of most of the shops and numerous restaurants which was a plus. Free covered parking and no resort fees were a huge plus. Overall we had a good stay and would stay again if ever in Morro Bay.

This property was very disappointing. It’s essentially a motel along the seaside. Nothing special at all about it. The motel is very dated and needs a refresh. They actually have you sign up for a breakfast snack such as a single cheese stick or a single granola bar and then give it to you in the morning in a sandwich bag. Not even self serve coffee (you can make it in your room, we were told). It is what it is but I expected some version of an inn when it is a motel. Beds are clean and fine.
